Ride in Ehime, Japan: a perfect cycling holiday destination #StoryOfMyRide – Mikame to Cape Sada

At the end of 2025 I enjoyed a week of riding in the Ehime prefecture on the island of Shikoku in Japan. It was a chance to sample glorious roads of a region that has made cycling the focus of a tourism initiative. It might not be on everyone’s list of places to spend a cycling holiday but it should be!
Had it not been for the wonderful ride a day earlier, the 86km journey from Mikame to Cape Sada might well have been the most enjoyable day I’ve ever spent on a bike.
Every day in Ehime offered an exciting new cycling experience and, as you will discover when you watch this latest episode of the ‘Ride In Ehime’ series, this region of Japan is a bike rider’s delight.
