Look, everyone!. The little Sloth is coming. In this video, I’ve come to see sloths, which are are known as the slowest mammals in the world. Most of the sloths here were rescued. And sloth is the national animal of Costa Rica. It’s about to climb.

In addition to being able to visit the cute little sloths, today I learned a lot about them, and in particular what they eat and how they live. Sloth bags are very cute. There’s also a small stuffed sloth. They have sloth shoes, too.

Plus, I got to go for a walk and see the lush, green, beautiful forest! If you want to know what the weather is like here, you can infer it from the condition of the soil and the leaves. I can completely fill my lungs with every breath. Let’s go see the sloths!

Hello everyone! Right now, I’m at the sloth sanctuary. Today I’m going to see it. Initially, I was hoping to see them in the forest, but we didn’t find any in Montevade.

They are in fact living there, but their population is small. So insofar as that particular search is concerned, I’ve come to the wrong city. If I want to see sloths in the wild then I should to go some other cities.

You can find sloths in this city. It’s just that you have to be lucky. I’ll have a tour guide to take me inside for a look. What makes me so excited is that I’ve never seen a sloth before! Now the weather is very cold.

I forgot to bring a sweater because I was in a hurry. When the van came to pick me up, I hurriedly ran. I ran into the van and realized that I had forgotten my sweater. Sloths endemic to Costa Rica. The guide is about to open the door. Thank you.

There are butterflies here, too. This is a blue Morpho butterfly. But it’s wings are still closed. The color is very beautiful! This place is a sloth sanctuary that saves sloths’ lives. Actually, at first, I wanted to go see the sloths in the forest, but I didn’t encounter any.

That’s because it’s cold here. And it’s not ideal sloth habitat. Sloths don’t like cold weather. So I thought I’d go to another city and see the sloths in the wild. It’s too cold here. There might be some sloths. But there are only the species with 2 toes.

But you must go elsewhere to find the other species. If you want to see one the forest, you have to go somewhere else. Now let’s have a look here. The guide is now explaining about the sloths. He’s providing information about this place to me and the other tourists here.

He said that sloths are mammals and that they live in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. Everyone, look at that sloth! It’s sitting over there. The fur is very beautiful. There’s another one here. It’s immobile, probably because it’s asleep. There’s one here. It’s asleep.

In conclusion, I have arrived here only to find that all of the sloths are asleep! This sloth is not rearing its head. It’s still eating leaves. I saw it chewing and biting. I don’t recognize that species of vegetation. Look behind me. The sloth is climbing the wooden railing.

It’s climbing very slowly — very slowly! It has this lethargic way of moving. In addition to the fact that sloths move very slowly. They have a very slow metabolism which is reflected in their cadence. Sloths eat very little food. This is because digestion takes a very long time.

Sometimes it can take several days or even more than a week. And they sleep between 15 and 20 hours per day. The guide said that all the sloths that live here were rescued from the wild. The rescued slothes are the ones who most needed help due to adverse circumstances.

The healthy are left in the wild. How cute! There are 2 species of sloths in Costa Rica, which are 2-toed and 3-toed sloths. Actually, sloths spend most of their time in trees. They only climb down once a week to relieve stress.

So if anyone goes into the forest to look for sloths, they won’t have to look on the ground. For the most part, one can look for them in the trees. But if the sloths live in trees almost all the time, then how can they excrete waste?

They can manage this because their metabolism is very slow. Therefore, they only need to have a bowel movement once a week. And this sloth is quite fond of cleanliness. Therefore, it will climb down trees to excrete. At first, I thought that the sloths lived in the trees and excreted there.

But that’s not the case. They’re very clean. Regardless of the size of the bowel movement, they will only do it on the forest floor. Female sloths give birth to one young child per year, pursuant to 6 months of pregnancy. And the juveniles will remain with their mothers for about 6 months, as well.

The sloths that live here are very clean. Note the color of its fur. Normally, sloths live in the wild. Their fur is greenish. It’s as though it’s made of moss. That’s because sloth fur is a habitat for many other organisms. It’s a home for everything from microorganisms to insects to fungi to lichens.

And note that they don’t smell very clean for this reason. Sloths don’t have very good eyesight. They can’t see very far. Therefore, they follow existing trails by scent. Let’s continue with the story of the lichens that cover the sloth’s fur.

It is believed that the lichen provide camouflage in order to hide the sloth from predators such as eagles, wild cats, and jaguars. Thus having moss-covered fur can help the sloth to blend in with its surroundings. Everyone, look here! A sloth is walking.

It’s so cute! Does anyone think it’s normal to see a sloth walking on the ground? No! Did you guys notice that it’s moving slowly, as though it’s injured? Walking on the ground is uncomfortable for sloths. It has already walked back in to the underbrush.

The guide said that walking like this is painful for the sloths, but they still do so on occasion. Sloths usually don’t walk on the forest floor. They just descend in order to excrete. Otherwise they tend to remain in the trees. It’s about to climb up.

This is a sloth, which has a reputation for being the slowest mammal in the world. The guide said that this sloth is quite relaxed right now. He uses his claws to cling to branches as he climbs. He uses his claws to cling like this so that he can climb.

But when they fight, they move quickly, according to the guide. Here in the sanctuary, they will separate males and females. That’s because males and females cannot live together. Otherwise, they will fight. I can hardly imagine how they would hit each other, considering how slowly they move!

In conclusion, the short-sighted sloth can’t see very far. Oops! It’s hanging upside-down! The food that sloths eat is mostly leaves. Apart from that, their diet includes branches, fruits, and even flower buds that haven’t yet bloomed. Oh, and I forgot to mention one more thing. Despite their slow pace, they’re very good swimmers.

If it falls from a tree into the water, then it will easily be able to swim back to the shore. The guide said that most of the sloths here have been rescued, such as those which have fallen from trees. When a baby falls, in general, the mothers don’t climb down to help them.

They will leave their babies on the ground because there are many predators down there. It must be scary! So when people find a baby sloth on the ground, they often call the sanctuary immediately. It’s like calling 911 for a human. This is the atmosphere of this artificial forest covered by a dome.

Right now it’s raining outside and the weather is very cool. Look, all the sloths are asleep! And there are butterflies in here too. This one has dozed off and seemed very comfortable. This one is eating. This sloth is hanging upside-down while having a relaxing meal. Oh wow! There are so many sloths here.

Today I’m so glad I got to have encountered a live sloth. This is really the first time in my life seeing a sloth up close. The sloths are really cute. Nevertheless you shouldn’t touch them because they may bite you. This one is about to go to sleep.

The guide said it was getting ready for sleep. I don’t know what it’s clinging to with its claws. Oh! I don’t know what kind of flower this is. It’s very beautiful! It looks like a needle flower, but it’s not.

Everyone, look here! There are a lot of flowers like this here. These are hydrangeas. Hydrangeas in Costa Rica are plentiful and very beautiful. They grow everywhere. There are lots and lots of them. Everyone now has now seen the sloths.

I’d like to say that it wasn’t that exciting because they live under a dome. It doesn’t quite resemble the wild. But that’s OK. Next time, I’ll go somewhere else and try to look for sloths in the forest. But I would have to find the right city.

This time I came to the wrong city. All in all, I feel good. I’m having fun! That’s partly because the weather here is very good. And the mountain path reminds me of a forest path. There are many tourist attractions in Costa Rica which are made to look very natural.

And by the way this forest wasn’t planted like this. To the contrary, it arose naturally. This is a mountain forest with lots of grass. The mountains and waterfalls are very beautiful. There is also a small waterfall under the bridge.

Everyone, when I tried to buy a tour, I asked them if they had a car to pick me up. They said they had one, but I forgot to ask them if there was a car to take me back!

I’ll go to ask them first about how to go back, considering that this place is in the middle of the forest, which is in the middle of the mountains. I came by van. I noticed that the road is surround by forest. It’s like driving off-road even though it’s on-road.

The road is not paved and it’s littered with rocks and gravel. And there’s no Uber in Monteverde. I surmise that’s because the road conditions around here are very challenging, not unlike driving off-road.

Some of the roads are composed of only gravel and rocks. They tend to be rough. It might not be worth the wear and tear on the car, right? There are in fact taxis here, but they’re sometimes difficult to find.

The taxis are not the usual sedans. They all seem to be of the SUV variety, such as the “Toyota Fortuner”. If you want to reserve a car, you may have to ask the hotel receptionist to do so for you.

Otherwise, if you stand on the side of the road and wave, they might pass by only infrequently. I asked the guy at the counter if there was a shuttle back to the city center. He said there was. The shuttle leaves at about 16:00. It’s now 15:17.

There’s still a lot of time left. I heard that that there’s a restaurant upstairs. And there’s also a souvenir shop here. There are souvenirs here. There are necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and all that stuff. This is a blue Morpho butterfly.

It is very beautiful. This is the most beautiful species of butterfly in the world. They also have magnets shaped like butterflies. And this one features a picture of a parrot. This country has many species of birds, everyone. And then there’s this little frog. There are a lot of them here. Oh, sloths!

Oops! Green snakes! When I was walking in the forest at night, I saw a snake like this. Wow! Here are some bowls. They’re very beautiful! This one is a bowl and a spoon. At first, from a distance, I thought it was a small mortar and pestel. Everyone, this sloth backpack is so cute!

I want it but what am I going to do with it? When it rains a lot, it will get all wet. Here’s a baby sloth. It’s a small one too. There are a lot of stuffed sloth here. These are often sold at tourist attractions. There are sloth house slippers.

The sloth is the national animal here. So everything must be a sloth! It’s like Thailand selling everything in the form of elephants, such as pants, pillows, and various other products. Oh! These are cute baby frog socks. These socks seem to be specially made for this country.

I think that because they feature pictures of various animals which are popular in this country. And then there are volcanoes as well. As you can see here, the flag of Costa Rica is the same as the Thai flag. The colors are just transposed. This is a sloth notebook.

By the way, this place is known as “Selvatura Park”. There are all sorts of activities here. They have a zipline, butterflies, sloths, etc. Inside the gift shop, there’s a clothing section. This shirt says “Costa Rica”. This pattern is cute, everyone! It’s a sloth riding a bicycle. There are also sloths riding a zipline.

Wow! Look at the river here, everyone! It’s so beautiful! There’s a forest up here. The trees are covered with moss and ferns. They’re very beautiful. Wow! This is a real forest environment. Wow! Look over there. Oh! Every tree is covered with moss and ferns. The forest here is very natural.

No matter where I go in this city, everything is beautiful. Let’s go for a walk in the forest and be happy. Oh! The weather is so good! I’ve just encountered this bridge. It’s very beautiful. Let’s walk across and have a look.

Oh! I don’t know what kind of tree this is. It’s so beautiful. Down below, there is a forest like this, everyone. The sounds of birds are everywhere. Wow! Look at the trees here. They’re so beautiful! Look at that fern. It’s very big. I’ve never seen a fern this big before.

Now, after having browsed the souvenir shop, I’ll just continue to walk around. I’ll just take a walk to kill time while waiting for the bus to return to the hotel. If you want to know what the weather is like here, you can tell from the soil and leaves that it’s very humid.

I bought a ticket to see the sloths. The price was approximately 39 USD. After tax, the total is about 41 USD. Anyway, everyone, I’d like to close today’s video here. See you in the next video. Let’s see where I’ll take you next in Costa Rica.
