We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet – but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. So feel free to tag along if you’re interested in following our journey and adventures around the globe ❤️

    between 16:00 and 16:28 when your cycling alongside the Danube, the height of the river seems to be vastly higher than the land alongside the bank. Does that mean that the river has been contained or channelised by man made structures to make it navigable rather than wild?

    Oh I remember that visitor. Sneaking up and bothering you during the night. Seems to me there was even more excitement to the story left out. But the addition of Nala bit must have been funny. After you both were safe. 👍🏼

    You both look great, Dean! Nala is so beautiful, love those close ups of her in the basket and always with you. Those wild boar can be quite dangerous. I can only imagine poor Nala thinking she is being chased by a flag! So glad that worked out well. Always a pleasure to see you both and prayers for your health and safety.

    U nas w Polsce ostatnio zginelo kilku rowerzystow jadacych jezdnia , a potraconych przez samochody, wiec jak ciebie zobaczylam obok tira , to mi doslownie serce stanelo ze strachu. Ja jadac rowerem zawsze stosuje zasade ,ze nie jade jezdnia ,nawet jak jest tam wydzielony pas rowerowy ,tylko chodnikiem, sciezka rowerowa tylko jak to czesc chodnika .

    I'm so happy to see you again. I woke up at 2:30 a.m. Australia time, then the notification came through. I watched part of it and fell asleep again, then finished it this morning.

    Now I don’t give a damn what you think. The roads and drivers aren’t going to get any better the farther you get into Thailand. You’re putting yourself and above all Nala at risk. She follows you because she loves you. There’s no better friend than that. But when you ride on these shitty roads, you’re putting both yourself and Nala in danger. The thing is, you know that. Nala doesn’t.

    It may seem cute. But it’s not worth it!

    Hi Dean and Nala. Beautiful video as always. Please be safe on the roads. I'm an American and even in my own country if I travel I would lock all of my items up for fear of theft. Hope you get some good rest at the hotel. Take care.

    Dean, you might be lacking in potassium, and that's why you're craving bananas. It's important to keep your electrolytes in check, as they are depleted when your hot and sweating. You can get powdered sports drinks like Gatorade. My dad was a plumber, and he was working outside most of the time, under the Australian sun, in summer. My mum would fill up a big drink eski (it had a tap on it) with an electrolyte replacement powder and water, to take to work with him. It also keeps you hydrated.

    I really can’t decide if l preferred the bike or Nessie. I like the countryside but it’s all so beautiful l wouldn’t know which country is which. Cities are few and far between and we have to think of Nala. The van does stop us all worrying about your safety. When your out side at night in a hammock, you can sleep but l can’t 😮. Anyway, l thought it might be interesting to ask people which is their preference. Glad your back, your both missed so much. ❤️🐈🇦🇺❤️

    I love trying to find where you are on google maps street view. I found the border crossing bridge and the sign before there were any stickers on it in April 2012. Scares me when you have to ride your bike next to traffic… it looks too close! 🙀🙀🙀
