After 3 Months in Qatar I had to leave. or risk it.

Cycling the world – Asia: episode 29
I leave Doha after nearly three months off the bike, racing against the clock on the last day of my visa. Before heading out I show a new addition to my setup, a simple mat I now carry to do daily exercises after my back got worse in Qatar. Thanks to Doctor George at the International Physiotherapy Centre in Doha I have a routine to keep going.
As I ride toward the Saudi border, the sun sets over Salwa Bay. I cross at night and return to a familiar camping spot I used months earlier. The next morning starts with a simple meal of lentils and bread at a Pakistani restaurant before heading deeper into the desert toward the UAE.
The road is long and exposed. I stop at petrol stations, get offered fruit and water by passing drivers, and deal with strong winds and sand. Just before sunset a police patrol pulls me over and tells me to get off the highway and find a safe place to sleep. The next day I push through heavy crosswinds and finally cross into the UAE, country number 69 of this journey.
But the wind does not stop. By evening it is almost impossible to camp in the open desert. With fences blocking the roadside, I ride into the dark until I find an abandoned shelter where I can finally hide from the storm.

  2. The middle eastern countries are not in favor of educated and working women such as within the USA. I enjoy Bike Touring and even as living within the USA I regularly abased or Nayed because of the fact of me being solo, having no children, yet well educated, had talent, full of creativity and innovation…this the male industry does not accept. I even built up my own bicycles. And like the country Afghanistan, the men there do not allow the women to hardly be able to do anything of their own interest.
"A bit weird"…all those who are about the SON OF PERDITION…All of them are a bit strange because they allow SIN into their LIFE. Even though who I personally know who is the King of all Kings, Lord o all Lords, our savior, redeemer, mercy, and grace, I have been asking Christ where was HE when I had no income for '6' years when Barack Obama was in office and I was doing my part in searching for work?

  4. Idk why Saudi groceries are more expensive than in Qatar. I can understand why the Saudi police wanted you off the road when it got dark, because ppl drive crazy there lol. Bro was worried about you not staying hydrated lol.

  5. You probably know this, but I wanted to write it for those who don't. To prevent cramps, drink plenty of water, eat salty foods, drink salty water, drink mineral water, take magnesium citrate, and keep your B12 levels high. Take a sublingual B12 tablet in the form of methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin every day.
