Cycling trip to Sannoji Temple & Nanzoin Temple, Japan | Bike Ride with friends | Temple + nature
I visited Sannoji Temple (山王寺) in Fukuoka, a hidden gem in Sasaguri Town!
Sasaguri is home to the historic Sasaguri Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, a spiritual route connecting 88 temples and halls, passed down through generations. Sannoji is one of the stops along this pilgrimage.
The temple is also known as “Tanuki-dera” (Raccoon Dog Temple) because of the many adorable tanuki statues scattered throughout the grounds 🦝
Until October 5, Sannoji hosts its famous Wind Bell Festival, featuring over 4,000 colorful wind bells. The sound of the bells combined with the traditional temple architecture creates such a peaceful yet photogenic atmosphere.
If you’re visiting Fukuoka and looking for a unique seasonal spot, this is definitely worth adding to your list!

Lovely video. A bit short but nice scenery nonetheless. I would like to see more of this kind of cycling content
I hope I have time to visit this when I go in May!
