I Cycled Across Kyoto in One Day 🚴‍♀️ The Best Way to see the City

#CyclingLife #BikeLife #Cyclist

In this ride I cycle across Kyoto from north to south, exploring the city the best way: by bike 🚲

Kyoto might be one of the best cities in the world to explore on two wheels. The distances between temples, rivers, cafés and historic neighborhoods are surprisingly short, which makes cycling the perfect way to experience the rhythm of the city 🏙️

Riding through Kyoto is not just about getting from one place to another. It’s about discovering small moments along the way and seeing the city from a different perspective 🚴🏻‍♀️

  1. Thank you for taking us on a tour of Kyoto and for showing us the quiet but also the touristy spots (that is also ok sometimes 😊). The Kyoto tower does seem to be worth it, loved the views.

  2. 暖かく、優しい、春を切り取ったような動画、ありがとうごございます。

Kyoto is a perfect city for cyclists. It has a city that feels like a miniature garden, as well as mountains, and Shiga Prefecture also has abundant nature.A leisurely ride is fine, and so is a serious ride.

    You loves Kamo-gawa.
Looking at the view of the Kamo River from the bridge, two cool theories come to mind. One is ”Kinji Imanishi’s Theory of Habitat Segregation(すみわけ,今西錦司)”, which is all about how different species coexist by carving out their own little niches.🐟🐡 Imanishi, an ecologist at Kyoto University, drew inspiration from the creatures inhabiting the upper and lower reaches of the Kamo River.
The other is the ”Kamo river’s Law of Equal Intervals(鴨川とうかんかくのほうそく)” in sociology—that unspoken rule about how couples or groups keep just the right amount of space between each other while sitting on the riverbank.👫 👫
The Kamo River's equal-spacing rule is a bit of a subculturish thing, but it was investigated by a university professor.😁

It seems that scholars in Kyoto also love the Kamo River.
