The west end of Nishikikoji Dori This is the intersection of Nishikikoji-dori and Mibugawa-dori The building in front is Kyoto Prefecture’s Nakagyo Police Station The apartment in front of UR Mibu Bojyo 2nd housing complex Let’s start Sadakazu the ramen shop with a yellow roof that you can see on the left

It is only open for lunch but it has a reputation for being delicious There are many mysterious temples around here I wonder if temples were grouped together in the old town divisions The head office of Gion Koishi is on your right

This is a candy store with its main store located under the stone steps in Gion There are also delicious sweets shops The building in front is Kyoto City Horikawa High School There are many long-established kimono-related stores centered on Muromachi Street There are many hokos and mountains of the Gion Festival around Muromachi Street

Daimaru Kyoto store is on the right I’ll park my bike and walk from here From here on Nishikikoji-dori passes through Nishiki Market This corner of the intersection of Nishikikoji-dori and Takakura-dori This is the birthplace of Ito Jakuchu a painter from the Edo period

At that time it was a vegetable wholesaler It’s full of tourists like this There seem to be more foreigners than Japanese It feels more like a shopping street than a market From someone who knows the old Nishiki Market I feel confused and lonely about this current situation

Fumiya you can eat delicious udon noodles The main store also has sweets which are also recommended The pickle shop has senmaizuke and suguki Very cheap takoyaki restaurant Mikikeiran Fukusayaki is recommended The roasted chestnuts at this shop are also delicious Passed through Nishiki Market This torii is a little strange

The tip of the torii gate is stuck into the building I arrived at the east end of Nishikikoji-dori East end of Nishikikoji street The intersection of Nishikikoji-dori and Shinkyogoku-dori It is one of the most lively downtown areas in Kyoto Let’s also visit Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine

Nadeushi Stroking the bad parts of your body Famous water Nishiki no Mizu The main shrine is dedicated to Michizane Sugawara

Nishikikoji Dori
It corresponds to Nishikikoji in Heiankyo.
It connects Mibugawa-dori Street in the west to Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine on Shinkyogoku-dori Street in the east.
There is Nishiki Market between Takakura-dori and Teramachi-dori streets.
It has been called the kitchen of Kyoto due to its many shops.
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of restaurants that cater to tourists.
Things are starting to change a little.
The west side of the street is a residential area and has a typical Kyoto atmosphere.
This is the remaining area.
