Today, I’m back in Chuncheon to go see the fall foliage on Gangwon Nature Road Course 1 with you. If you look over there, the fall foliage is absolutely beautiful today. If you haven’t been able to see the fall foliage, you can watch my video and enjoy it. Then, let’s go on a fall foliage ride with me. I’ll start from where the station master is and go to Gangchon Station. Last time, I brought a car, right? But this time, we’re riding… There’s a rail next to it… a rail train? It’s coming in now . This is the old Gangchon Station, right? But this is the first time I’ve seen a rail train coming in like that? Here I come . Last time I was here, there were only rails, so I didn’t see it. But there’s something that looks like a train running here? This is the old Gangchon Station . Now if you look here… It says “Old Gangchon Station,” right? The old Gangchon Station was here. Actually, if you ride a bike, you can see it in more detail. So I’m here again, Station Master. This time, look again. If you look over there now, you can see the river with the autumn leaves, right? We’re going to ride all the way to Chuncheon. We’ll start again . If you look here now, you’ll see the Clothespin Bridge on the right. The riding course is like this. There’s a steep slope here, so be careful. If you go down, you’ll go under the Clothespin Bridge and the bike path will be connected. Wow! The autumn leaves are really pretty. This is Autumn Leaf Road~ Autumn Leaf Road . This road is already pretty, but it’s really pretty with the autumn leaves . Isn’t this the perfect scenery for fall foliage viewing? You should come here and enjoy the fall foliage in Chuncheon. Chuncheon is just the rule when the fall foliage is changing. The rule. A lap around Chuncheon . Last time I was here… I took the road and went inside this tunnel-like area, but today, let’s take the left-side road. The view from the left-side road is better, right? Because it’s closer to the water, right? There’s a mermaid statue here too? I didn’t know there was a mermaid statue here. The fall foliage was so pretty that I looked, and there it is. Isn’t the back even prettier? I walk around Chuncheon counterclockwise, but clockwise seems to offer a slightly prettier view. Wow~ Autumn foliage… The autumn foliage is crazy , so pretty. I haven’t been here at its peak, so to the left! I’ll go to the left and show you the bike path that runs on the water . Autumn foliage viewing is the real deal. There’s this observation deck.. I canoe here.. There’s a place to canoe in Chuncheon . Canoeing is new information this time. This is the waterside deck road. Let’s start enjoying the autumn foliage properly this way. There’s no place like Chuncheon where you can ride a bike along the waterside deck road. Okay~ The Samgak Mountain cable car looks like this. It feels like I’m being sucked into somewhere in front . Are these LED lights? It would be really cool when the lights come on at night. You can see it from the Samgak Mountain cable car. If you look at these lights while riding the cable car over here.. The left side seems to be all lights, right? This is the bike path that you can see right when you get on the cable car. It feels like riding on water. It feels like you’re just floating on water . Now, if you come down here… I’m taking the cable car. If you go this way, you can take the cable car that I took last time I came . On the right, there’s a Starbucks with a huge line… The view is great. If you look here, the cable car… goes up . It takes an hour or two to get there (Samgaksan) and about two hours to go up and back, but it’s worth it. If you go all the way up here, you’ll meet Sangsang Madang. There’s so much to see, right? Chuncheon is so much fun to ride like this ~ Because there’s so much to see, there’s always something going on in the front yard here, and sometimes busking is also done here. There are a lot of pedestrians and bicycles here on the weekends, so I think it would be good to be a little careful while riding. Be careful~ I met a subscriber on my way here. Wow~ There are so many people riding bicycles. They’ve also done media art here. You have to go up to the left. I think it’s a bicycle club . In front of the red bicycle path is the Ethiopian Coffee Shop, and I’ve reserved a place to stay in front of it tonight. What kind of bridge was built over Gongjicheon in front of here ? I should walk there in the evening. I went to the left along the Ethiopian War Memorial.. This place has a festival atmosphere on the weekends. Festival atmosphere. In the case of Chuncheon-gil, which is within Course 1 of Gangwon Nature Road, you won’t be bored wherever you go. What is this? Chuncheon Sairo.. Ah!! 248 Uiam Lake View I saw this when I was making this. I saw this when I was making this . And then there’s a bike path in the middle.. There’s a bike path on the other side too. So they blocked the bike path a little and started construction here. So I watched them make this, and it’s finished. Oh my, I should come back to walk around Chuncheon Sairo 248 in the evening . It got so hot while I was riding my bike, so I took off my windbreaker first. It keeps getting hotter as I ride . So I came out wearing a fluorescent bike jersey today, and I can finally ride wearing this. Then let’s go again. Fluorescent jerseys for viewing the fall foliage ! There, you can see the Legoland Hotel and the Legoland rides right there. There are so many things to see, but while riding a bike, you keep going like, “Is this it? Is this it? Is this it? Is this it?” and before you know it, this city is over . There really is so much to see in this city. This is a Saixing bike. My bike is right here in Course 1 of Gangwon Nature Road, Chuncheon, Chuncheon.. Chuncheon has so much to see. This place is great~ Huh? To the right? Did a new bike path open? Ah~ If you look here and here, the bottom and top are all made of glass . No~ They made so many places to see on foot . Wow! If you walk, you can only see one or two things, right? But if you ride a bike, you can see everything. Here too, when you were driving, you didn’t see this bridge like this, right? Kitten, meow.. Baby kitty, oh my! There’s another one over there . It’s a mother cat. You can’t do this on the bike path. The kitten was startled . Cats can get hit and die on the bike path. That’s why you have to let them get out of the way . In fact, the most common roadkill is squirrels. They say that squirrels get so distracted by what they’re eating that they end up roadkill . Then, cross over and this whole area is well-connected with the bike path . Can you see the Soyang River Skywalk right next to it ? You can go up and take a look. If you see people riding bikes, many of them rent them. In fact, even if you don’t bring your bike here, you can get off at Chuncheon Station, rent a bike, and take a look around the Gangwon Nature Road Course 1, Chuncheon Course. Highly recommended! Huh? Soyang River Skywalk 8:30… In winter, it’s open until 5:30 . If you look, there’s the Soyang River Skywalk in the back, and behind it is a fish-shaped fountain. The fountain was on last time I was here, but it’s not on today. This varies by time slot, so you should take a good look and come when you get there. If you pay at the ticket booth over there and go in, the bottom is all made of glass, so you can see all the way there. And now, next to it is the Soyang River Maiden Statue. You can see the Soyang River Maiden Statue over there while looking at the Skywalk. The Soyang River Maiden Statue is like this here . Be careful… Drive very slowly and look at it. Do you see it up ahead? Go behind the Soyang River Maiden Statue , and there’s Dakgalbi Alley on the other side. If you keep going straight, you’ll come across the Sinmaedaegyo Bridge again. The autumn leaves are so pretty. You can see the Soyang River Maiden ahead today. I have to go~ Again… It’s a long way to go. If you ride your bike over like this, you’ll see it all the way to the left. You’ll reach the end of Legoland, and in the middle, there’s what looks like the base of an old bridge . Maybe that’s to show that there used to be a bridge there a long time ago… Isn’t that what it was there to represent? I have to find out what that is. There’s some kind of amusement park here. Chuncheon seems to have a lot of things for kids to enjoy. We’re also going to cross over and visit the Animation Museum. The ginkgo trees are so pretty. The ginkgo trees are so pretty, but you have to be careful. You can go past the puppet theater here. Now… You can go over Sinmaedaegyo Bridge . This is Sinmaedaegyo Bridge. If you go down to the left, I’ll take the Bukhangang River Bike Path . This is… the west side of Uiamho Lake in Chuncheon . There’s a really, really pretty riverside deck path that actually floats on the water. This is where it starts. When I first came to Chuncheon and went on this deck path, I was amazed. I didn’t know such a pretty bike path existed in Korea. In fact, seeing this, Gangwon Nature Road Course 1 has gathered together only the real scenery and restaurants. This riverside deck is really the best. If you go over the bridge, you’ll find the Animation Museum! Can you go to the right too? Kids… If you come over here like this, it’s the Animation Museum, but if you look outside, it’s the road outside the Animation Museum… I’ll show you . If you go inside, there are all the familiar characters, so try to find the ones you know. You can bring your kids, or you can come here and reminisce. From the front, it’s all the way to the Animation Museum. This is the entrance. It’s a really fun place , so I recommend you come and see it . If you look here, where you go to Uiam Dam, there are a lot of characters inside the Animation Museum, and if you look outside, there’s a cafe and Legoland on the other side. It’s well done, right? If you look across, on the other side… Wow!! There’s a boat passing by. I saw that boat when I was riding the cable car. No, that boat runs until the end of November. If you look now, that spot above is the cable car terminus. The course is set up so that you can see the bike path turning around like this at the top. I’m going to have breakfast and leave, so I came to the most famous hamburger restaurant in Chuncheon . I slept in Chuncheon yesterday and am in Hwacheon today . I ate breakfast in Chuncheon this morning… After brunch, I’m going to take a spin around Hwacheon . Here, I’m at Bungeoseom Island. Since I came to Bungeoseom Island to see the fall foliage, the fall foliage on Bungeoseom Island is so pretty. I’ll start from Bungeoseom Island and then take a spin around Hwacheon. Let ‘s go straight this way and take a spin around Hwacheon. Gangwon Nature Road Hwacheon Course Let’s start riding. You can ride all the way around Bungeo Island, but I’ll turn around from the beginning and show you here… The fall foliage is so pretty, and I’ll just show you Bungeo Island and then head out to Hwacheon. Many people come here by bike. This is Bungeo Island, so there’s a carp shape like this . If you go out like this from Bungeo Island, wow~ it’s really beautiful on both sides. As you start the bridge and go out, there are carp like this. This is a course where cars and bicycles can travel together, so there’s a road on the left and a road on the right. Gangwon Nature Road Course 1 mainly rides together with bicycles. Behind me is Bungeo Island, and on the right over there, do you see the maple trees that have turned red? Hwacheon-gun downtown… If you turn around the main rotary in the middle, do you see the bear? If you see the bear now, go around here and that bear is the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival bear. So if you go to the right… ..and go towards Ttansan, on the left is where the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival is being held. Do you see it up front? There’s a carp sign… Huh? You came here to fish on a bike. If you go in here, the Hwacheon Oxygen 100-gil begins here. Behind you is Hwacheon-gun. The Hwacheon Oxygen 100-ri Road begins here. Today , because it’s also a fall foliage ride, the ginkgo leaves have fallen a lot right now. Ginkgoes… Ginkgoes must smell like shit too~ My bike . The Peace Dam that I showed you last time … In the case of the Peace Dam, if you go now, the fall foliage is at its peak, and if you continue from this side and cross over to Yanggu, the Gangwon Nature Road Course 1 from Yanggu connects to Yanggu. Yanggu is also perfect for going to see the fall foliage. Now, I came down to the waterside. I took the waterside course~ The fall foliage in front of the waterside course is pretty. I came at the time when they’re having a great time, the time when they’re having a great time seeing the fall foliage. Do you see the bridge floating on the water like this? That bridge is actually floating on the water. You can walk to the right and look around along the mountain . That pontoon bridge. At first, I was so amazed by that pontoon bridge. When I went to Cheorwon in the winter, there was a pontoon bridge floating on the Hantangang columnar joint road . It’s the same principle. But this bridge is there all year round . Oh my! Even foreigners came here to ride . It’s a world-class riding course. Wow~ You can walk all the way here. If you walk all the way like this, you’ll see Paro Lake and go to the other side. Then, you can walk all the way across the pontoon bridge and go back up the river to Paro Lake . It goes down and then up, and now the height of Jado Island changes like that. There’s an amphibious armored vehicle in front. Where is it? Here it is, an amphibious armored vehicle . It’s the Marine Corps. This is some kind of monument. Yes, yes , yes , it’s the Marine Corps Hwacheon District Battle Monument. Because of the fall foliage, because of the fallen leaves, I can’t see the road. Oh my, here I am riding through the fallen leaves . It’s nice to just step on the leaves with your feet, but it’s also quite rustling and nice to ride a bike. Ah~ There are a lot of them gathered here again. Rustle, rustling, rustling on a bike. In times like this, be careful with your brakes, and don’t brake and ride well~ You can step on the fallen leaves and ride. The fall foliage here is really pretty . The orange color of the leaves is so pretty. Crunchy, rustling fall foliage riding path. I think that’s the Hwacheon Hydroelectric Power Plant on the right. Do you see the Geomeok Bridge up ahead? That bridge is almost 80 years old? Close to 100 years old . They coated it with tar, so it’s black. For now, I’ll go straight to Tansan, and later, on the way back, I’ll go the other way and cross over the Geomeok Bridge. You can ride a bike. Tansan… It says there’s 0.4km left to Tansan, right? If you keep going up from Tansan, you can go to the Peace Dam. I will go into Tansan so that you can see the rare scenery of the water flowing down from Tansan . Wow~ The water is flowing down so beautifully. If you go up this way, you will go to the Peace Dam. It is awesome. Oh my god. Even today, there are not many people who came to camp in their cars. Tansan Falls doesn’t come down every day, but today, when I was going for a fall foliage ride, Tansan Falls came down just in time. Everyone, then I’ll turn around at Tansan and head back towards Geomeokdari towards Hwacheon-gun . This time, I’m doing a 2-day, 1-night course, so the first day I’ll go around Chuncheon and the second day I’ll go around Hwacheon. If you do a 3-day, 2-night course, you can go all the way to Yanggu and go around Yanggu too. A circular course is possible . Oh! I think this is where I went before? Don’t go there because it’s a rockfall danger area. Then I’ll go back to the opposite side and go down the way I came . Looking at Tansan and going that way, I think it’s Hwacheon Dam again . There are a lot of dams. This place is really a mecca for car camping . Today is Sunday, so people… It seems like everyone went home after camping yesterday, but on Saturdays or the day before a holiday, this place is packed. Last time I came, I camped here, so now I ‘ll go to the opposite side and go towards Geomeokdari. The road in the middle from Tansan to Geomeokdari is Dokkaebi Road. Dokkaebi Road is clearly (at first glance) downhill, but (on Garmin) it’s uphill. Here , Geomeokdari . I’ll go to Geomeokdari . If you look like this, Hwacheon Geomeokdari is a road that can be used by both pedestrians and bicycles. If you ride a bike, it feels really, really good, like riding an amusement park ride. But it’s a bit windy today? I first rode a bike over Geomeokdari… I started road biking and came here around 2020. Then I saw this place and thought, “Wow~ Is there a place like this in our country?” And I was surprised that there was such a cool place .. It was a bridge that surprised me, and I came here for a fall foliage ride with you all. Then, I will go towards Hwacheon-gun like this. When you come to Hwacheon, I recommend.. camping in your car.. and you stop by here while camping. I will go all the way down. There is a Sancheoneo Festival in the winter. So, everyone, please come to the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival. They say it’s really fun. After riding like this, it would be good to go to the Hwacheon Market and have a delicious meal. The prices are very reasonable and nice. Paroho Oxygen 100-ri Road . Okay~ This is the Hwacheon-gun rotary . Did you see the otter here? So there’s an otter model here and an airplane over there. Do you see the airplane that looks like a fighter jet across from the airplane? It looks like a museum, and if you look closely, you can see the fighter jet. Hwacheon has a lot of interesting things, right? You’ve come back to Bungeoseom Island. If you come like this, you can go into Bungeoseom Island.
