These AGGRESSIVE DOGS are a real problem 🇮🇹 | S1E113

This dog, you’re not going to do anything to me, are you dog? Having begun my journey as a complete novice, I rode my motorcycle across North America, Ireland, and the UK. From Europe, it’ll be an adventure down to Cape Town. We’ll head back up to the Middle East, and from there it’ll be Asia and down to Australia. New Zealand’s southernmost drivable point will mark the end of my trip. I’m calling it the big spiral, and this is Act 5, A Journey Through Europe. Good morning from Lavena Pont Tresa, Italy. Oh man, today is going to be good. We’re going into the Alps, into the High Alps. I’ve been looking forward to this one, because as you know, I love mountains. But before we go, as you know, I arrived in this town at night, so I didn’t really get to see what it was like. Well, it turns out it’s really, really beautiful here. I can see why Italy is so popular now, because I’ve never been here before. Oh my god, is it gorgeous here. So let me just find a spot to stop, and I’ll put up the drone, and I just wanted to show you, because it’s just… What do you say? What do you say, Italian? It’s right at the tip of my tongue. In French it would be magnifique. Oh yeah, you can already spy a little bit. So actually, that side of the lake there is Switzerland, and I’m on the Italian side. Ah, look at this. It’s a really, like, popular area. All these cyclists, there’s lots of motorbikes going through here. There’s just one thing I wanted to show you. This is a church, but I can’t remember where it is exactly. Oh yeah. I think I just spotted what I want to film over there. Let’s just park here. Oh, isn’t that pretty? It’s really cool to be here, to be honest. It’s really cool. I figured out the Italian word. It’s Belissimo. And, yeah, so before we keep going, I just want to show you where we’re going first.. All right, so we are here And we’re going to head towards Torino or in English I think they would call it Turin. And just north of Turin around here somewhere is lots of off-road riding and up into the Alps. And this is what I’m really excited for because I think it’s over 3,000 meters at the high point. So it’s going to be awesome. There’s going to be probably glaciers. There’s going to be off-road riding and it’s going to be really good. But we have to get there first. So it’s going to be a little bit of highway first and then it’s going to be perfecto. All right, let’s go. Okay. Yeah, it’s just so gorgeous here. I can see why people really want to come here because you’ve got cliffside roads and you go through a little village and you’ve got another cliffside road. Gorgeous. Oh, yeah. Just popped out of the tunnel and look at those mountains over there. It’s a good sign. Alright, my first European toll. Am I free? This is… Oh, now something’s happened. Arrivederci Arrivederci! All right. All right. Ticket. Okay. I have to put this card in, I assume. Oh, card. That’s over there. Okay. Let’s see. And then this way? Huh? What’s going on? I don’t know how this works. Oh, there it goes. I don’t know how this works. And then? Okay. Arrivederci Arrivederci Oh, yes, they really want my money And another But, we are getting closer to the mountains, and that’s a good thing. – Hi
– Full? Yeah Both yeah [In Italian] I don’t speak Italian But yeah. Full. Full, yeah. [In Italian] Card or cash? [In Italian] Card [In Italian] Card? Ya. [In Italian] Card, inside. Okay. [In Italian] Thank you. Oh, I saw some guys on dual sport bikes. Maybe I should just follow them. Oh, they’re going the way of the tet.. I don’t know if I’m fast enough to keep up though Okay, time for some off road. And we’re going to make our way up the valley that way behind me. And eventually we’re going to get quite high. So cool here. Okay. Let’s see. This way? Whoa, up here, yes. Awesome. exactly what I’m looking for. Oh, this is the best. So many switchbacks. Amazing. They have more technical as I go up. We had a great little path. Oh Oh man, this is awesome. Wow, this is like… what is that? What is that? It’s like an old resort or something. It’s all boarded up. They really don’t want you in there. Whoa. Okay, I gotta explore a little bit, right? And I found an abandoned place. All these bricks, they just destroyed. Oh, someone nailed down some planks. Where the stairs used to be. What do you think? Was it a hotel or something? The rooms… That’s a bigger room. It’s weird that they ran all these… Oh, that would have been water. Yeah. You can see there’s hookups in the corner there. Yeah, there’s little pipes. Even Italy has kind of modern abandoned stuff. Okay, I’m gonna go up a floor. Okay, we’re at the top now. Huh. It’s gotta be an old resort, isn’t it? Okay, heading back down. I just looked on my map here. Oh, it’s scarier right down. Oh, God. This apparently is like an ex-residence. That building over there that was really fenced off. It… On the map it said “Ex-Seggiovia”. Something like that. And I translated it. It means “Ex Chairlift”. So it must have been a ski resort at some point. And then I saw another one on the map over that way. It was an old restaurant. And yeah, these I guess would have been an apartment or residence or something like that. Oh, yeah. This looks like the bottom of a chairlift, doesn’t it? That would be the cut. Oh, nice tree skiing in here. Cute little cottages. Back to the main road Wow. This all looks like ski hill here, you know? Like just open… open terrain. Oh, yeah. There’s an actual ski hill here now. Off-road again. Oh, what a beautiful hill to climb. Nice place to hike. You’re not going to do anything to me, are you dog? This dog… You’re not going to do anything to me, are you dog? Hi. Hey! Geez dogs! Oh, this is a bit muddy here. Look at the shingles on that roof. It’s so cool. Like minded folk. Man, the way they make this tile is… it’s like these rocks. Literally rocks for tiles. Or tiles… shingles. Amazing. Okay. So now we’re done that hill. We’re going to head up that way. And then I think we’re going to start… We should start getting to Alpine over there. Which… Haha. This is exactly where a motorcycle… A motorcycle should be. Wow, look at that. Feels like you’re in China or something, you know? Tibet. So my map, I think it’s Fort Exilles. Time to climb again. What a village. What a place. Oh, we climbing. Haha. I think we’re going to hit dirt soon, I hope. Oh yeah, dirt. Awesome. This side of the mountain is… Or this side of the valley is a lot more arid. Oh. Tenere coming. And a Honda. Wow, so many people. Lots of switchbacks. Wow. This is pretty sweet wow what is this? there’s all these cabins up here. oh my god look at this village Next time on Una Moto… This is the longest off-road bit I’ve done in all of Europe Oh, really?
