$22,000 1975 CZ 400 FALTA REPLICA

[Music] Welcome to Rockville. [Music] Is that not the crispest ‘7s 250 you’ve ever heard? This thing just barks and it hauls ass. Pulls really, really hard uh in second and third gear. I can see why this was a whole shot monster and also the world champion. Th this was a replica honoring Juruslav Falta, the CZ world champion. It’s been restored to stock new condition. All the hardware was replated. It has a 400cc rocket ship engine with a radial head design. The jigoff carburetor, the original carb, the handlebars have the welded on perches, uh, stock grips, folding foot pegs, has a special air original air shocks, fork preload adjusters, has an alloy coffin tank with a belt, leather belt holding it on. It has the skip bin cylinder and the CZ shoulderless alloy wheels with I think these may be the original Barum tires. I’m not 100% sure. Um, this bike was sold to my good friend Chip Watkins uh in uh January will be 3 years ago. He purchased it at uh January of of 2023 at the Mikum auction. Here’s the actual Mikum sold tag for it with all the specs on it. And it shows the out the door price is $22,812.94. probably one of probably one of if not the most valuable 1975 motocrosser unless you uh well the Harley-Davidson and MX250s are bringing big money these days. Uh these are bringing big money. The CZ twin pipes are often selling for obscenely expensive numbers. You have collectors that have sold those twin pipes for north of 30,000. So definitely an investment quality piece. Beautifully restored. Chip had this hanging from the ceiling of his private museum and had never even started the bike. It was exactly the way it it came off the restoration bench. So, we wanted to fire it up, make sure everything was dialed in correctly. Um, tuned the carb, got it running beautifully, and here it is. So, ready, ready to display, race or whatever you want to do. Um, there’s a company called CR Racing, Charlie Richards, out of California that Billy consulted with about the bike and uh, I had some questions about the shifting because I was struggling shifting it. And this is very similar to the transmission on my tractor trailer where it’s it uh, the tractor trailer you can’t use the clutch except for to start and go. Well, you can use the clutch, but it’s you’re if if you’re good at it, you shift it without the clutch and you have to be at the right speed otherwise you’ll hit a false neutral. Charlie’s been building and racing these for 20 years. He didn’t work on this particular one, but he said that’s the way they are. That’s the way they always are. And they won world championship with these transmissions. It took me about 15 minutes of riding it to figure it out. But it’s just like just like a non-synchronized transmission in my track to show you at the right speed. You just uh shift up, hold it up until it goes into gear, and you’re golden. And it just it’s a rocket ship. So, um I had never ridden this particular model before. So, I was surprised at that at that that it was not like the Japanese transmissions that were synchronized. So, uh synchronized better. So, but take a close look at this bike and you’ll see that cosmetically it’s a 10. Mechanically, everything’s brand new. Electronically, everything works beautifully on it. Um everything’s either new or restored to new on the bike. The hubs are painted this beautiful gold color. The original wheels are are polished. The paint job on the frame spectacular. The original exhaust is in excellent condition. Uh they did powder coat the frame which means it was sandlasted and this what you see coming out of out of the this there’s a little um wee pole here and the it had never been started since it was restored. So when we started it the black sanded they sandlasted it was coming out of the out of the back of the frame right here which kind of surprised me. I was like what the hell is that? Then we figured out that’s that’s from when they sandlasted it. So, um, sand blasted the bare metal, properly restored, properly primed, painted, and restored. This is as good as it gets, guys. Uh, Chips has an eye for spectacularly restored bikes. That’s what he likes, and he paid 22,000 on it. So, the reserve will be less than what he paid for it, but uh, we can’t give it away. These are He paid a lot of money for it, and these are skyrocketing in value. Thank you for watching and God bless America.
