【八ヶ岳・清里】心がワクワクする全てのものがそこにはある|DUCATI Scrambler1100 TributePro|休日バイクVlog
It’s finally that nice time of year again, so looks like my buddy is heading out. What’s up, I’m Seaman. There are a crazy amount of motorcycles around this morning. Also a drip coffee… Ah, sorry. Can I get an Americano, please? Maybe because it’s the start of a three-day weekend, the highway is seriously packed this morning. The weather’s not totally awesome today, but it’s not super cold, so it feels perfect for a ride. The forecast said sunny, so we should be good, right? Speaking of which, it’s starting to clear up a bit! 😃 Alright, today I’m heading out towards the Yatsugatake area. Time to roll! Oh, wait, I’ll fill up the tank first. I bet it’s pretty cold from Kiyosato to Nobeyama. Yeah, I was thinking of going all the way to Nobeyama. Nobeyama is over 1,000 meters, after all… Is that where the train has its highest point? Just over two hours from Tokyo, I’ve arrived at the gateway to Yatsugatake. I’ve made it to Hokuto City in Yamanashi Prefecture. Next up, I’m heading to a stunning view cafe called Kiyosato Terrace. Kiyosato Terrace is a highland resort in Kiyosato at the southern base of Mt. Akadake, the main peak of Yatsugatake. It’s supposed to be 1,900 meters high, so the view *has* to be killer! As I head north on the prefectural road, it’s slowly starting to feel like Yatsugatake. The mild temperature is slowly starting to drop. About 30 minutes of riding from the interchange, Kiyosato Terrace should be showing up soon. This place seems to be a ski resort in the winter. I heard it can get crazy crowded, so I tried to come early! 😃 I’m here! The temperature is actually down to 11℃. Anyway, since I booked a bunch of stuff in advance, I’m going straight to the special counter. I reserved a premium seat because I didn’t want the crowds to ruin my chill time. 👍 (My camera’s glitching, so it’s shaky.) Um… Is this it? So, I check in here. If you go down to the left across the grass, that’s the Panoramic Lift. Please show this lift ticket before you board. We’re handing out this postcard, which you can mail without a stamp. (You get one with every lift ticket.) If you bring it next time, you’ll get ¥300 off, so you might want to send it to a friend or yourself. By the way, the lift ticket is much cheaper if you book it early, so I recommend buying it beforehand. If you walk this way, there’s a stand cafe, and the reception is in the back. Please give this file to the staff at that reception. They will show you to your seat when it’s time, so please be sure to arrive about 5 to 10 minutes early. Okay, let’s head to the lift. The weather is unbelievably good. Is that it? Watch out for dropped items and hats, please. It looks like the autumn colors are already starting around here. And just like that, the lift arrived at the summit in about 10 minutes. The weather is awesome at the top, too. I’m so pumped! Arrived at Kiyosato Terrace. It’s more empty than I thought! Maybe I didn’t need to get the premium seat, lol. I’ll check in anyway! One single Jersey Milk, and… A blend. One. The free seating is wide open today! Are you sure? There are quite a few free seats open… You can cancel it if you want. Really? We can give you a refund. Then… can I cancel… is that alright? And the drink is okay? Oh, I’ll keep the drink. Sorry about that… I ended up canceling it. So, I’m heading over to the free seats. It was a huge relief they let me cancel!
*The premium seat this morning was ¥2,500, by the way.* Alright, I’ll take this spot. Wow, it’s so plush. Perfect! Kiyosato Terrace. Kiyosato Terrace is 1,900m above sea level, making it the highest point in the Kiyosato area. You get a sweeping view of Mount Fuji and Nobeyama Plateau below, where you can enjoy a liberating moment under the vivid sky known as “Yatsugatake Blue.” Taking in the incredible view from 1,900m, This is a super chill morning. Best day off ever. For comparison, the premium seats look like this. During peak hours, free seating is limited to 20 minutes, so if you want to hang out for a while, you should consider the premium seat. Mountain weather changes fast, and it clouded over in no time. Time to head back down. I’ve got an overnight trip soon, so the huge bag is already mounted. Alright, I’m going to grab some lunch. So, when you talk about Kiyosato, you think of Seisenryo, but
*Seisenryo — a farm resort famous for its ice cream and mountain views.* I heard there’s an annex where you can feed Jersey cows, so I’m having lunch there today.
*Seisenryo — a farm resort famous for its ice cream and mountain views.* The gravel is scary! I’ve arrived at the Seisenryo Farm Shop. There was a Jersey cow right at the entrance, so I’m checking it out first, lol. Oh, there they are. Hello! Cute. Time for a snack. Woah, careful! The cows fight when you give them food. Be nice to each other! The restaurant here apparently serves dishes made with Jersey cow milk. I’m excited. The weather’s great today, so I’ll eat on the terrace. *Don’t worry, I totally washed my hands after touching the cow.* Okay, let’s dig in! Wow! It’s super rich and seriously delicious! It’s cool that you can choose between white rice and multigrain.
*I went with the multigrain.* Jersey cows are apparently a rare breed, making up only about 0.8% of dairy cattle in Japan, and this doria uses tons of Jersey milk and even precious Jersey butter. It’s a super special doria you can only get here. So bomb. Thanks for the food! Alright, now I’m heading to the final destination: Nobeyama Station. Nobeyama Station is on the JR Koumi Line, and at 1,345m, it’s the highest-altitude station on the entire JR network. The absolute highest point on the JR railway (1,375m) is between Nobeyama Station and the next one, Kiyosato Station. I won’t be stopping at the highest point this time, but you can see a video from when I went before by clicking the link in the top right! ♡ I made a quick detour before heading to Nobeyama Station. I’ve made it to Nobeyama Station! Free parking is a lifesaver. There’s something I really want to try at Nobeyama Station. I figure I can ride to Kiyosato Station and back since there’s a 6-minute transfer time. Think I can swing it? Take the train at 53 to Kiyosato, and then the one leaving at 6… 2:06 PM… Can I make the transfer? Whoa, watch out! Is it pretty risky? After they were super helpful and checked for me… Well, it might be worth a shot. Worth a shot? I bought a one-way ticket for now. If I miss it, I’ll be taking a taxi back from Kiyosato. The Koumi Line, I’ve always wanted to ride it. The time has finally come. I’m getting a little hyped! The amazing Koumi Line runs through high-altitude areas over 1,000m.
*Nobeyama Station’s elevation is 1,345m.* It’s a single track, non-electrified local line running through the highlands—that’s part of the charm! And so, the short Koumi Line journey begins. I’m having too much fun—my eyes are going crazy! The JR highest point of the railway. Even on a bike trip, enjoying things like this is great. The suspense is real. Gotta rush! Where’s the transfer platform? I have to cross the tracks?! Oh noooo!!! The crossing is closing! Phew, I made it! The train heading back to Nobeyama pulled in just as I finished crossing the tracks. I came from Nobeyama and am transferring at Kiyosato, so… They told me to tell the conductor… (the station staff told me) Alright, heading back to Nobeyama Station now. The transfer was pretty intense because I had to cross the tracks. If you try this, it’s on you! Sorry for the trouble! Oh, could you press the button, please? I just totally showed off my Tokyo roots. Ah, I’m back! Thanks! I paid the fare to the conductor. Thank you so much!! And that’s it, my trip is officially done! Seriously, a huge thank you to the station staff and the conductor. Thanks, Koumi Line!! Well, guess it’s time to head home. Looks like my friend is back. Turns out he forgot to buy a souvenir…
