Tout mon matériel. L’Amérique du Sud à vélo. Guide complet
Hello my Nomide friends, hello dear new friends who have just joined this channel. I have Lake Buenos Aires on my left. I have the road in front of me as far as the eye can see. Behind me, we can see Cerro Castillo in the background in Chile. And I’m going to tell you about my cycling equipment. I’ll do it there, I’ll try not to forget anything. So the cycling equipment, first of all, I have a Montague or a Montague. It’s an American bike that folds, I took it that folds. Do I regret it? Do I not regret it? I don’t know, anyway, other bikes weigh about the same . For now, at least, it has proven itself. I’m on my fifth trip. Yes, fifth trip after a Paris-Nîmes trip at the beginning, where I enjoyed the bike which then led me to do the French coasts, so you have all that on video, I’ll put the links up there. Then I went to Turkey by bike, then I was in Asia. I did Southeast Asia and now I’m in Patagonia after leaving Peru. I’m almost there, I still have 1500 km left, a little more than 1500. Yes, even more. So we’re leaving. So first we’ll start with the bike equipment, bike equipment, I added two bags to the front. Bags that I bought at Decathlon, waterproof, with clips that allow you to put them on the fork, I modified the clips a little because at the beginning they were little plastic things, which inevitably broke. So I put on collars, metal collars, and it didn’t move. Perfect, frankly I’m very happy with these clips that allowed me to attach these two bags in front, on the fork. Then I added a tube, a tube under my handlebars, a tube because on the handlebars with the gears, with it, I had also put a counter, so I didn’t have enough space. So I added a tube that’s here, quite long, which allowed me to attach a bag in which I put the tent. Here’s this bag, red bag that you see. Inside there’s the tent that fits perfectly with the tarp that I always put under my tent to avoid humidity as much as possible. And when it rains, the water goes under the tarp and not between the ground and my tent. There you go. So the tent is a MSR Hubbai Hubba, two places. Two places, because when it rains and for safety, I bring everything with me, in the tent, everything fits. But I’m fine, I’m fine, I have space, it’s really cool. It’s a super solid tent, although I had some problems with one of the tubes , but that might be a bit my fault. I might have badly tubed it, so to speak, before putting it up. So before putting up all the aluminum tubes, check that they are all pushed in all the way to the peg. All the way. My repair, for now, it’s held. Watch the video where I’m repairing these aluminum tubes. For now, it’s held very well. I’m super happy. So I’m keeping this tent, even with the repair. When I get back, I’ll try to find a tube of the right size. I’m going to change my arm for the camera, I’m a bit tired. So the tent, stakes. I took extra stakes, because they bend. The original stakes are a bit light and they often bend. So always take a few extra pegs, be careful not to put your tent in a hollow, you never know, if it rains and then look at the slope of the ground so that if it rains, the water doesn’t come and invade you. It’s better to put yourself on a small mound, quite far from a river, you never know either. And then put your tent also to possibly have the first rays of the sun if possible because there will always be a little humidity it’s extremely rare if there is no humidity in your tent on the tent so put yourself to have the best rays of the morning sun. As for sleeping, well I have my inflatable mattress. I have a Decathlon inflatable mattress because they finally put little pads underneath that prevent you from slipping because the mattress before it slipped. So there it grips well on the ground of the tent especially when the ground is a little sloping sometimes we choose not too much. We take whatever location we find, which I always inflate with the bag, you know, which I adapt to the cap. It’s really good, it’s quickly inflated. Then I have a sleeping bag, a cotton sleeping bag, and I realized that when I put my arms in, my arms are in the sleeping bag and when I put my arms in the cotton sleeping bag, well, I gain a few degrees of heat, so it’s not negligible. And then the advantage is that it allows you to keep the feather sleeping bag relatively clean. Because washing a feather bag is not great. You’re going to lose a lot of quality, and so my sleeping bag that I had on Everest, which normally goes to -20, but it’s starting to get old now, it’s 4, 5 or 6 years old. I bought it in Nepal, cheaper in Nepal, it’s the mammoth brand and now it goes to zero, zero I’m well after below zero it’s a bit tight so you need a good sleeping bag. That’s for the bedding. For sleeping, because I like to sleep in clean clothes. I have boxer shorts, boxer shorts, I assure you with this weather, they are dry in 3 minutes 35; I hang them on the bike. They’re clean, they’re dry. A T-shirt, a small synthetic T-shirt, because I don’t like drafts on the shoulders. Sometimes the bed covers are too short and my shoulders are bare. So the same, then this one, it’s so thin, I wave it like a scarf, I wave it in the air, it dries by itself. So that’s all that, it washes and dries very quickly. That’s it for the tent, the tent attachment, the tube for the attachment. In the tube, I installed the rearview mirror, I found a small rearview mirror that could be placed on this tube, inside the tube. Great! I’m delighted to have a small rearview mirror there under my handlebars. Great, I’m very, very happy, plus it’s quite flexible, which means that when I lean the bike, the mirror doesn’t break, it twists a little, but it bends, let’s say rubber. So it works very well, so I’ll try to give you the links. I don’t know if I’ll find everything, but I’ll try to give you the links. Excuse me, it’s a bit steep. The handlebar? Well, it’s a butterfly handlebar because there’s no way I’m always leaning forward on the handlebars, now I’m sitting straight, like I am right now. I can talk to you, I can relax my back. So the butterfly handlebar is vital for me, frankly. And you can tilt it in all directions, that is to say you can adjust it downwards, upwards, more towards us, however you want. That’s great, I’ll give you the link. I already did it on my first video. I have a bar pocket, too, there look waterproof obviously well the little pocket on it is not really useful frankly. Because as soon as it rains see there is a sort of transparent plastic. Frankly it is not really useful, because as soon as it rains there is condensation inside if you put a map or something … You can put your phone yes, if it is waterproof. I have it in my pocket. Then the water bottles. I took two water bottles; a one liter water bottle a 600ml water bottle and they are there with clips that I bought at Decathlon. I’m going to show you in detail the little clips I bought at Decathlon that allowed me to put them on the fork too. There, just below the start of the spring. First of all, I never really use this telescopic fork, and I’m not ready to reach the end. So it’s not likely to hit. It works very well, I’m delighted. Ah! So, as for the stand, a stand, I’m on my fourth or fifth stand. They all break, obviously we’re loaded, they all break, there’s no arguing. So now I have a telescopic walking stick that I attach here, along the central bar and I put it under the saddle and I untelescope, so to speak, to go to the ground by blocking the front wheel. It works very well. Of course, I have a bike pump, the one I told you about in the first video. So a video that worked very well, I’m almost reaching 60,000 views It’s huge. So on this new video, of course, there are changes, there have been improvements, there are lighter things, I left lighter, there are useless things that I didn’t take. But the old video still works very well. The first pump was really small. Well, I took another one that’s a little bit bigger than I have here, it works very well, except that the pressure indicator, and this is very useful, the pressure indicator no longer works. That is to say, it gives me a false pressure. So I’m not going to give you the link, I’m going to find out which is the best pump to leave. The tires, very important, I took the Schwalbe tires. You can see it in the first departure video, I put it up there I’m in the process of mounting them. Hola! It’s hard. Well, puncture-proof, they did their job. I punctured once with a huge nail, huge, there you can’t avoid it. On the other hand, if you had tubeless tires, with that, you were in trouble. So I don’t regret my choice of inner tube, I have nothing against tubeless tires but there, a nail like that. Look in the video there, I put it up there for you. In Uyuni, leaving Uyuni or the salar, a nail and a very small thorn on the side I had to lean my bike on the side, but for the moment I touch wood, I don’t have much wood there, we’re going to touch rubber, I punctured twice in 5500 km So Schwalbe not bad, so I had taken Schwalbe inner tubes and now I changed since I repaired, but I prefer to have new ones so I always have two spare inner tubes with me, it’s quite heavy, but hey it can be useful and I gave one to an Italian friend for whom his puncture repair hadn’t worked. See. Behind I have two Ortlib panniers that have already made three trips, Europe, Vietnam, Asia and all of Patagonia. Well all of South America, super solid. Half canvas half tarpaulin, I don’t know what it’s made of anyway.. It works very well, I’m delighted. Placed on the luggage rack, which is original with the bike and with small flaps, it works very very very very well I have no problem but it seems quite sturdy because it jumps, well they took what. On top as you can see, I have a waterproof bag that I bought at Decathlon also waterproof backpack that allows me to put in it is heavy there is the computer there is the drone there are the solar panels there are the batteries to recharge a little everything it is when I am camping, bivouacking. This one is heavy, and then it has never leaked, it’s already been three trips it’s a little faded but it still works it’s the large size that I took, it’s not the small size. There you go. The bungees; take a set of bungees with several bungees. But take different bungees, extenders, I don’t know how you say, it depends on the regions of France. Because they get lost easily but hey they’ve been on three trips it seems pretty solid anyway, but I lost some so I still have some, I still have two extra ones at the bottom of a bag lying around at the bottom of a bag still more weight still more weight but hey sometimes bungees are not easy to find What else? Oh yes I have a pouch too that I have underneath there, there are all the tools all the tools; knife, there’s a bit of everything in there there’s even the stove so the stove is an MSR I put the video that I made at the beginning of the trip in the first video, it’s a new one because I had one that I’d had for 30 years! It still works but as now it’s more easily foldable, it takes up less space. And I was a little afraid of breaking down because everything is a little worn on the old one, so I took a brand new MSR and I hang the bottle at the bottom as you can see always leaving the pressure cap on it even if I remove the pressure I always leave the cap on because as there is oil in it car gasoline well it never smells what with a cloth around it and an elastic band and I’m not bothered and in the bag, there are the tools, the knife, there is My little shovel to go do my business. There you go, there’s loads of stuff, everything I can fit in there. That’s the equipment. We’ll see in detail what’s inside but not necessarily while riding. I also have a small pocket under the saddle that allows me to put the lights. The front light that I adapt to the handlebars, I need it and the rear light that flashes, a little thing that I bought in Vietnam, I had lost the other one, which flashes. It’s beautiful as anything, which flashes in all directions with different choices of flashing. Classy! and which allows me to be seen if ever I ride a little late at night or in the morning here if I want to avoid the wind. Because here, we’ll see what will happen in the coming days. So I have my two little lights inside this pouch, with the clothespins, with an adjustable wrench, a very small adjustable wrench, which allows you to loosen different sizes of nuts and the washing line which is quite long which I use for quite a few things and in particular for hanging out the washing. Of course. I have the alarm, very important so I talked about it. A bicycle alarm or other things doesn’t matter in any case I adapted it to the bicycle, it’s really great it’s really a security, it’s not visible, it’s black on black and on the other hand it makes noise eh! So I have this alarm. I have a lock too, of course. It’s this big padlock with the yellow handle where you put the key where you put the key it’s heavy on the other hand that’s heavy, but oh well. If I no longer have a bike, I no longer have a trip so.. I tie it there and I also have a cable, a steel cable, that’s also heavy but hey you never know. When I’m far from the bike and I can’t hear the alarm, I have this lock and this cable I can tie around a tree, around a gate or another bike, if someone has a bike and doesn’t have a lock. There you go. So friends, know that for everything I’m going to put as a link in the comments of the video, finally in the descriptions of the video I put the links to Amazon, well I get, I get 1 or 2%, 2.5% maybe, it depends on the stuff and on the other hand you don’t pay more so if you ever buy, well click on my link, there you go, I thank you in advance, that’s always it. Why do I only have two bottles, why do I only have two plastic containers ? Firstly because I don’t have enough attachments on the bike to put the others, to put others and then because I buy a 1.5 liter or 2 liter plastic water bottle and I attach them behind, on the bag. In addition, when they are half empty I crush them and I refill them. I have no problem finding water containers and for water when I was in Chile where there were torrents, streams everywhere, I have my filter, my Katadyn filter, which doesn’t take up much space, which is not heavy and which is very practical since it eliminates, they say, 99.99% of microbes. So listen, I used it in rivers, I used water everywhere, in torrents, I’ve never been sick and yet we always say that you shouldn’t do it, so it seems to filter well so Katadyn, I’ll give you the link, go through the link please. It’s not cheap, so it will give me a bigger commission, here I tell you 2% I think 1.5% you won’t pay more. Little wink here after having reviewed while riding so a little acrobatically I must say I hope that I haven’t forgotten anything, everything there is on the cycling equipment we will go into detail with what I brought as clothing and material. For the clothing we will start from the bottom, I have a pair of simple shoes that I bought at Decathlon. Excuse me gear change. The shoes, well I only have one pair of shoes , but I only have one pair of shoes. I almost forgot to tell you, speaking of shoes. The guy wanted to sell me waterproof shoes, he said to me “yes, they are waterproof.” It’s not that they’re more expensive, but that’s not true. The problem with waterproof shoes It’s that the water always ends up getting in from above, don’t dream, and therefore inside. To dry shoes when they are waterproof, it’s annoying. You can’t turn them inside out like a pair of socks. I have socks, we’ll talk about it, but I bought a pair of waterproof socks to try. They’re not bad, they fit well, they come up a little higher than the ones I have, but to dry them when I wash them, it’s problematic. I have to dry them first on one side then turn them inside out and dry the inside. Because they are waterproof. But otherwise, on the other hand, the foot stayed dry, I admit, I admit. And flip- flops. So flip-flops, super important. Try to get them light, because it’s a question of weight and solidity. Don’t take the first prize with the thing between the toes, there was just a hole and it comes undone as soon as you hang the flip-flops somewhere. Take something solid that dries quickly and that way you can take a shower anywhere without catching fungus and stuff, or walk as soon as you stop, around the tent, in flip-flops it’s good to do good to your feet. Then the socks, I have three pairs of socks, the same, synthetic so that they dry faster. I wash them almost every night, in the morning they’re dry. Not if I arrive late. I wash everything, that’s very important, I wash everything in my little bag, my little waterproof bag, people make fun of me from time to time but people finally adopt my idea, because in a sink, washing, it’s not fun. Often there isn’t even a, what’s it called? A plug, a plug to plug the sink, or it leaks… My little bag is perfect, for rinsing, everything, I can do it anywhere with lake water, at the edge of a muddy field, I wash my laundry, that’s practical. I’ll give you the link, very practical, people envy me when I have that, I ‘ve lent it several times. So my socks, Pants. I have two pants, a pair of canvas pants, these turn into shorts that I bought at Decathlon too, but which dry quite quickly, but they’re canvas, they’re sturdy, with pockets on the sides, it’s great. And another one a little lighter that turns into shorts also a little more close to the skin that also dries very quickly. It’s not canvas. This one is cotton while the other is synthetic, but which dries very quickly. It’s important, with the same thing, pockets on the sides and the same thing, found at Decathlon. Bike clips aren’t bike clips, they’ve evolved, but they’re really important. They’re very classy! Except that if you get grease on your pants, you can wash and rewash, rewash, it doesn’t come off. Black marks from the chain… In underwear, in briefs. I have three pairs of briefs. 3 pairs of briefs, not cotton, definitely not, it takes too long to dry, too long. Wow! This road and this lake! It’s beautiful! And yes my friends, the second largest lake, after Titicaca, in South America. And imagine! You’re going to laugh, I have two thongs. Thongs, you’re going to laugh. Well because with cycling shorts, it’s really good. We always say that you have to wear cycling shorts without anything. Well, I wear my cycling shorts with my briefs, but I also wear them with thongs, and the advantage of the thongs is that they dry very, very, very quickly. Obviously, there’s not much. So I wash them very quickly and I dry them very quickly. It’s really good. There you go. And yes, I have cycling shorts, I have cycling shorts but I bought them in Cuzco. Honestly, they’re not very thick. They’re a bit light, but hey, I wear them, when they’re not dry, I don’t wear them. But hey, my butt is starting to get a bit tanned. But I have cycling shorts. And this is very important, they fit very well, so to speak, to my Brooks saddle. So, on the other hand, I’ll never part with my Brooks saddle. Here’s the link to get them with springs or without springs. I’m giving you both links, it’s honestly a total blast! And I’m not the only one to travel long distances like this, with a Brooks saddle. It’s really quality, it seems silly, it’s a bit old as a saddle and all, but ah ah, there are people who envy me because it is truly extraordinary. You realize the number of kilometers, I absolutely do not complain about the rear end, it is great. And I have seen quite a few people traveling, that I have met, with Brooks saddles. I am not alone though. I am giving you the link, go through the link to buy this extraordinary saddle. Thank you Mr. Brooks, at the beginning of the last century. Mr. Brooks invented his saddles which resembled and had the shape of a horse saddle, because he found that on the horse we were relatively comfortable, so he tried to make a saddle, which resembled, and especially in leather and therefore which adapts, which changes shape gently. The leather is always alive, which adapts to your rear end, there you go. And since this saddle, to come back to this saddle, makes people jealous, I bought a saddle lock with a special key, you don’t want to lose the key, but with a special key to loosen the saddle, so obviously the guy who knows a little about it, he’s going to go and take it apart under the saddle. But hey, he won’t have the bottom , well, but it takes a little longer than loosening the saddle and stealing it. There you go! I always have a clean ass anyway, we’re not going to go into details, but I don’t want to show you, I always have a clean ass because I use my little water bottle that I always have with me and my little shower, all the time, all the time I don’t use paper, I do like the Indians, like in Asia I have my little shower and it works very very very well. I’ll give you the link for the little showers, it’s great. Women will like that. We continue to ride, I have merino underwear. I currently have it on me, by the way. I only have that with my windproof raincoat, I don’t have anything else. And it works very well. Merino keeps you warm, it’s really good, even in the ice and everything… Watch my videos when I’m in the rain, I have the merino and that’s it. And so when I stop I cover myself with my fleece that I take out of my bag, which is dry. Really great, plus it dries quite quickly. So I have my merino underwear. Obviously I didn’t use it when I was in the north of Argentina, in the desert. So I have that. I have a short-sleeved shirt, the same, synthetic, which dries very quickly. A long-sleeved shirt that you saw in my videos, brown long sleeves, to avoid getting sunburned. It seems silly, but don’t only take short sleeves because the sun is strong. Excuse me, I’m changing hands. Wow! This lake! It’s beautiful. And two t-shirts, same thing. Sports t-shirts, same thing, very light that dries very quickly. Here are two t-shirts. What else do I have? I have a neck warmer that I have around my neck, something like that, and it’s very good because when it’s cold, when it’s windy, when it’s dusty, ah well, it’s good, there you go. There you go, there you go, what else? I have this very useful waterproof windbreaker , I have a fleece that I bought in Cusco because I left without a fleece. I had a weight problem. I bought a fleece. Now it’s completely faded, completely faded by the sun. I look like a bum when I go into a restaurant… I don’t care, completely, when I take out the money they are always happy. And I have gloves. So I have gloves for cycling, since, look at this video that I put up there. In Turkey I cut my finger in a small accident, so, it’s a bit embarrassing. So now, I have protections on my hands, especially when there’s a lot of traffic and then I have fleece gloves too, when it’s dry like today. Well, right now, it’s 12 degrees, it’s nice, I’m in Argentina, I’m not in the polar cold of Chile anymore. I put my fleece gloves on when it’s dry. There you go. What else? I made you the list of clothes, honestly I don’t have much. I don’t have much , and besides, everything fits in two small bags, you know the bags like that that allow you to tighten them well. It’s not the stuff where you remove the air, because that in my bag it doesn’t fit, in my little bags either. So I have bags like these, which allow me to squeeze them tightly. Obviously, it’s not ironing well, that’s for sure. As for ironing, we’ll iron. But it does n’t take up space. Why two? I’ll tell you, quite simply, there’s a reason, when everything is clean we don’t care. But on the other hand, when I have dirty laundry, I put all the dirty laundry in one and the clean laundry in the other. Which means that when I have to do the laundry, I transfer the compressed bag of dirty laundry directly into my laundry bag. Do you get the idea? Thierry is not stupid. I’m joking, I’m joking. And I have this little backpack jacket that I have with me, where I have my phone, my camera, my glasses, money, I have my e-reader, everything that’s a little flat because I can put the raincoat on top. I can close it. Well, it’s not raining now, so I have it outside, but otherwise I can close everything. So it’s just flat things, I have my passport, I have my money, everything is in there, at the back, and normally inside there’s a water bottle with a tube. It’s always there, but it’s the same, I carry it for nothing because I don’t use it. I’ll tell you why, because it gives a plastic taste. All the water bottles, honestly, all the water bottles I’ve had like that, with a pipette like that, gave a plastic taste. I don’t know, they ‘re not capable of doing things… I don’t know, I’m not a chemist, but there’s always a plastic taste. So it’s there. I should have, I could have thrown it away, but… That’s it for the backpack. There’s one thing. One thing I forgot to tell you about yesterday is my parka. My anorak, I don’t know… My parka. Now we say “down jacket” I don’t know where this word “down jacket” comes from. Here is my little blue parka with feathers, same brand as my sleeping bag, Mammut that I bought in Nepal, in Kathmandu, which keeps me very warm and which fits in a small bag. So I unfold it and when my fleece is wet with sweat, it happens. I just noticed that during my whole speech, when the camera is on this side, right in the back, over there, you have Cerro Castillo. Look how beautiful it is! Look how beautiful this mountain is, it’s fabulous. The next beautiful mountain that I’m going to see like this will be Cerro Torre near Fitzroy next to El Chalten. It’s going to be amazing. But this one, it’s incredible. Cerro Castillo, remember, it’s in Chile. I’m in Argentina. As for tools, well, I have the tire repair kit, of course, with only three wrenches to detach the tire. Maybe I should have taken a fourth, because I almost did, I was afraid of breaking one. If I break one, it’s a bit awkward, a bit awkward. With different wrenches, with the wrench holder where they’re all together, but it’s not very practical. I have separate wrenches that allow me to tinker. I have a knife, a knife with pliers, etc. I took the best brand, super strong, it hasn’t rusted. I use it for everything, really great. This, on the other hand… I’ll give you the link, it’s really useful, there’s lots of stuff, there’s the screwdriver, there’s the knife, there’s the file, there’s the bottle opener. It’s got everything on it. It’s really good, really great. I didn’t skimp on quality and I don’t regret it. As my father-in-law used to say, “forget the price, the quality remains.” I have a derailleur hanger, I was advised to get a derailleur hanger. I have a spoke wrench, I have it, it doesn’t take up much space, well, it’s still heavy. I have my little shovel, we’ve already vaguely talked about it, made of solid aluminum, very strong, which allows me to dig a hole when I do my business outside or to make ditches in case of rain around the tent, to divert streams, the runoff of the water around the tent. It doesn’t take up space, it’s not heavy. I have a small set of cutlery, I have my cooking pot with my teapot inside. Look at that, it’s great, I drink a lot of tea and so I have my teapot. I drink directly from the teapot, through the spout. I don’t bother with a cup. But even if I drink from a teapot, I still have a metal cup which allows me to make instant soups for example. A small frying pan. There you have it. It’s a bit heavy, it takes up space though. It seems silly, but I have my little egg box that I cut, so I can take two eggs with me and cook them later. It’s a protection, I found it on AliExpress I don’t remember what it’s called, not easy to find, but it’s very good for putting eggs in, it’s practical and I cook my eggs. You’re going to say “he’s completely crazy” I cook my eggs, or while cooking my pasta since in general pasta takes 9-10 minutes, I put the eggs in by washing them a little before because it still comes out of a bottom. So I wash a little, then I cook them with the pasta. Another way; is that often there are kettles, you know you press the button there, you wait for the water to boil. Well, I don’t say anything to anyone and I put my eggs in it. My water bottles are the same, I put them in the freezer, which means that when I leave in the morning, when I have a fridge available, well, I have ice in my bottles and they stay fresh longer. Little backpacker tips. It’s starting to roll, there are a few thousand kilometers under my feet anyway, so I have little ideas that came to me like that, or that I nibbled here and there. I have a cap. To tell the truth, I haven’t used it much because I always have my helmet and when it rains I put the hood on, I don’t put the cap on. You have often seen in my videos this plastic bag the white plastic bag which is attached to the front of my handlebars it is simply my food for the day, sometimes a croissant, sometimes a piece of bread, chocolate, an apple, a fruit, a banana, biscuits, things to nibble on, or sandwiches and I put them there, within reach in a white bag. There are even several bags so that it is waterproof in case it rains, and in a white bag so that it does not heat up too much with the sun. But on this hike, if I can say hike, I often have the sun at my back since I am going down towards the south so it was not too strong in front otherwise I would have put behind me what. There you go! And then otherwise, I put one of the bottles with the ice in it, it can happen, it can be useful. For the equipment I have my small Mac air computer which is in the bag as I already told you, waterproof at the back, on which I make these videos. I have the solar panel. So the solar panel, I’m not going to throw it away but I’ve been carrying it with me since Cuzco. I ‘ve only used it twice and even then I could have done without it since I have two batteries that are more than enough to last three or four days charging my phone, charging the camera, and the GPS. So two batteries, I think, the two batteries would have been enough. Take good ones anyway, the two batteries. I’ll give you the links, think of me again. Two batteries would have been enough, I didn’t need the solar panels. There you go, on this trip anyway, so far I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels, I wouldn’t have had a problem, I tell you I could have lasted I can last three days without a problem charging everything. And if I’m careful I can last four days, the watch also charges very quickly, it doesn’t take much energy. So I have a new solar panel, very light, flexible, a little flexible, and well it doesn’t charge the battery, don’t dream. On the other hand, it charges the watch, it charges the batteries of the camera, the GoPro, finally the Osmo that I have, so there you go, it’s not bad, it’s new, it’s very light. Good, very good, I tested it, it’s good. I have all the cables of course, all the charging cables and I have a multi hub. That’s super important because sometimes you only have one socket, so take a multi hub if possible with a long enough cable because mine is a bit short. Because the sockets are for example 1.50 m high in the middle of the wall or elsewhere but always in places… sometimes two meters because they planned to eventually put a TV on the wall, but there is no TV so the socket is two meters high, so I move chairs, I move the bed sometimes, I once took the mattress from the next bed to lean it against the wall and put the equipment on it but otherwise it rips the plug, it rips everything out, it rips the cables, but multi hub very important a multi hub, USB, USB or USB C, I don’t know what the other plugs are called but multi multi very important with different cables of course, there you go. All the images you see were taken with a DJI osmo action 4 camera, it’s similar to the Gopro, but I’m delighted with it, really delighted, very good quality, very practical, with the protective support, I bought the combo it’s with three batteries and the charger, three batteries well I was happy to have a second battery, the third I have never used it yet, because I recharge all the time. A handle, small extendable handle that becomes a tripod, also very practical. So there you go, I’m delighted with this little camera. Well, I was delighted with the GoPro too. I’ll give you the link, it’s really very good. No, it’s great and extraordinary. No, it works very well, it made the whole trip, it fell several times, it works well. Well, it has the protection around it. But I’m delighted. I have the DJI too, it’s the same brand, drone, I’ll put above there in the corner in the angle what it is exactly. I don’t remember but it’s the drone… It doesn’t matter, I’ll show it to you. Very good, I’m also delighted with “Follow-up” I love it, I don’t use it often because I’m lazy, but great. I love drone shots , I hope it’s the same for you and I have several SD cards because SD cards can get damaged, can get lost, can get scratched, they can bend, they can break, so I have several 64 GB SD cards of memory, I have four or five, I don’t remember exactly for the moment I always have the same ones but I’ve already broken some and I have two hard drives. Why two 1 TB hard drives? Why two? Because for the moment, as soon as my cards start to be half full, my SD cards on the Gopro on the DJI drone, I also have a camera. I transfer everything to the hard drives via my mac air, my little computer. Because a camera can break, it can get wet, the drone, I can lose it, the drone systematically I transfer as soon as I have finished shooting, because it can disappear into the wild. And I double, that is to say that all my files are in one hard drive and doubled on the other. That’s why I didn’t take a 2 TB hard drive. I have two 1 TB ones, we could make two 2 TB ones and if ever, for the moment I’m not there, but if ever I go over 1 TB, well it doesn’t matter, I take the risk and I transfer, I erase one or I erase part of one and I start to transfer on the second. There I hope you understand me. Yes two because I already have hard drives that have broken down. There and I’m sure that it happened to some of you, it happens to everyone and believe me it’s a bit… If it’s not doubled, it’s embarrassing. Once again, I’ll give you all the links. Buy by clicking on my link, you won’t pay more. To guide me I have the Garmin 830 GPS. Well, it doesn’t work, it’s broken, completely broken, the touchscreen hasn’t worked since the beginning, it struggled, it works… The touchscreen works one time out of ten, when they work!! Which means that sometimes I completely lose the data, I’m really pissed off . I contacted Garmin, they told me… I told them I’m coming down from South America, I still have two or three months of travel to go, I’m going down the whole Andes mountain range . They replied to me, they hadn’t even read the email. They said to me ” Are you at home?” I said “well no I’m not at home” you want to say “I’m not at home you idiot I’m on the road” so they replied to me. They said “well when you’re home you, we’ll solve the problem.” Nice, what. What I was waiting for was to be told “Are you stopping in any town? We’ll have one sent to you or go see one of our representatives…”. I don’t know something. No. Nothing at all, figure it out for yourself. I’ll tell you the rest later, because this story is to be continued. And I have a can, you know, a gas thing to defend yourself in case… I covered it with big, super powerful tape that allows me to repair from time to time. You see, there you go. There’s tape around it, it’s not to hide the mark, it’s because it’s tape that I use to repair. I’ve already repaired the handlebars and all that, so I have the tape and the can there if I lift it and I throw it in the face of someone who’s bothering me or a dog or I don’t know. Well, it’s there, it’s all the time there, at your fingertips. There you go, I hope all this information will be useful to you. Tell me in the comments. If you have any ideas or things to remember that I forgot to tell you about, surely. Tell me in the comments, it can be useful to me first, and then to those who are watching. So there you go, thank you all in advance and also tell us in the comments if this video interested you. Thank you, a little thumbs up of course, the subscription even better, and pass it on, if you know people who go cycling or camping, who go up on foot, it can always be useful. There you go, thank you for watching this video to the end in front of Lake Buenos Aires with Cerro Castillo right in the background there, superb! The sun has hidden a little bit but it’s a fabulous place. The wind, that’s all, hasn’t risen so I’m delighted and I’m heading towards Perito Moreno. See you soon my friends, see you very very soon. Ciao

Question quelle assurance soins rapatriement avez vous pris ?
Ave Nomide !
