JAPAN SOLO TRIP: KYOTO & UJI | Matcha, Le Labo, Fushimi Inari, Tokyo shopping
[Music] I made it to Kyoto. I’m on my way to my hotel now. It’s really quiet and quaint and cute here. here. I’m literally like the only one walking on the street. The bullet train was really fast though. It didn’t feel like a full 2 hours. And the view was great. It was nice cuz it was a clear day and you can really see Mount Fuji. [Music] Guys, I love the ambiencece of this hotel. So, I can’t really check in cuz it’s too early. It’s like 10:00 in the morning. But I am just going to leave my bags. I decided to rent a bike because my hotel rents them out for free for a day. [Music] I finally reached the street that I’ve been looking for. I parked my bike, but um I found the Starbucks. And this street is not too bad. Actually, I feel like February is a good time to come visit cuz it’s not too crowded. There’s an upstairs. Oh, I think this is where you sit on the floor or on the on the ground. Yeah. Oh my god, that’s so cute. So cute. Let’s see if I can find a spot. These are like the tatami mats. I’m sitting on one right now. [Music] Guys, what a vibe right now. I love how I’m just sat in this little corner and there’s this like nice little window next to me. I got like a matcha donut and then a hot matcha latte. Surprisingly, I always get iced. This is called the Malasada co. No, not coconut. Malasada custard donut, I think. Oh my god. Yummy. Guys, look at there’s like matcha cream inside. I’m going to try this other one now, which I’m excited for cuz they had a display that has that was like cut in half and there was so much cream. Holy wow, that’s good. [Music] I think it’s only fitting that I get a matcha bowl here since I don’t really have one yet for my matchas. This one’s pretty, but it’s like irregular. I don’t know if I’m into that, but it’s really pretty. It’s like a good good size. This one’s kind of nice. [Music] I’m having another thing of dessert. I haven’t really eaten like a actual meal. I got the uji matcha tiramisu and I chose to sit outside since it’s not that cold and it’s it’s cute out. I’m like low key nervous about trying to find my bike later because I kind of forgot where I parked it. That’s pretty strong. [Music] Hey guys. So, I’m trying to find the Kitschi Kitschi Omurai’s place, trying to get some dinner. I think I stayed at the wrong spot because tell me why I was like sus coming out of my area because it was just so quiet and residential and I’m like, are people not going out at night here, but my bus stopped at like a high energy area? So, people are out here, just not in the area that I’m staying at. Earlier, it was nice cuz it was sunny and I got to ride my bike. Um, but now it’s actually snowing and it’s like that wet kind of snow. [Music] Unfortunately, she’s fully booked and no walk-ins available. Maybe I’ll try tomorrow night. Hey guys, it’s a little loud in this restaurant, but um I look so tired. I think I underestimated how tired I got from biking. Like my legs are actually so sore. Not only did I bike to Ninan Zaka, but I also had to bike back to the hotel. So I just like went into this random restaurant. Um there’s no like English name outside. It was very which is fine. Um I always want to see like what else is happening. much. I always want to try like other places, more local places, not necessarily like the trendy ones. My food right now. The people who work here don’t speak English, and that’s okay. But they but they have an English menu with pictures, so it’s very nice. I’m excited to try it. I actually have not had sushi. Holy crap. I haven’t had sushi since I got here. [Music] Apparently, she was trying to tell me how to eat it, cuz I thought you supposed to pour the egg in there, but she said not to cook the egg, but beat it and then like dip the wagu in there, guys. I’m so tired. like it’s hitting me because I’m sitting now and I have to wake up so early. [Music] My hair looks like a mess cuz I took my beanie off. But I realized I never showed you guys the room. The only weird part about this room is the sink being like right by the entrance. So when you walk in, there’s a sink. This little receiving area. Nice little shower area. I really like what they did with the walls there. Slay. This toilet has a seat armor, guys. Like, as soon as I sat on it earlier to pee, it just was like nice and toasty. And there’s this big counter space here. That’s one of the robes that they gave. There’s like a little cabinet space here. They gave me slippers, too. It’s a mini fridge. Just realized that. And of course, I had to choose the Japanese style which has the mattresses low to the ground. And there’s this little couch area. Good morning, guys. It’s the second day in Kyoto, and I had to tweak my plans for a little bit because it snowed. I expected the snow, but I didn’t expect it to be like that much snow outside. The sun’s out, but I don’t really have the appropriate pants right now. I only brought one pair of pants on this part of the trip and it kind of drags through the snow. So, I need to get pants and maybe some boots. [Music] Hello. Hello. Oh, wow. Can I see? 200. Okay. Okay. [Music] [Music] I’m by the river. The snow has lessened, which is really nice. I still need to get like actual winter clothes cuz my pants keep dragging. Nice. [Music] home. Oh, [Music] hotel walking. [Music] Guys, I’m so glad I hustled because I’m the last person they’re taking, even though some people got here or some people lined up before they actually closed, which is at 2:00. Shout out to the girl in front of me. She was Chinese. She didn’t introduce herself, but she was nice enough to tell me that the little cups that they gave like with tea kind of indicates that you’re eating to get the noodles that you’re waiting in line. [Music] [Music] She gave me matcha salt. Matcha salt. Like what? She said this is for the tempura. It’s the best salt. Holy crap. [Music] Take this. Oh, okay. Got you. Thank you. Okay, so she said apparently you take the noodles and you dip it in here. Ah, it’s good. [Music] Oh, okay. [Music] So far, that was like the best food that I waited in line for. I mean, everything has been good, but like, wow, worth the wait. I feel very thankful and blessed that they they took me as the last customer. Holy crap, that was good. Guys, look at this beautiful shade of green. [Music] [Music] Hi. Uh, the matcha, please. Matcha. Okay. 300. Okay. I was going to get matcha ice cream, but I just got a iced matcha latte, so I’m pretty cold. So, I got this like nice warm matcha mochi instead. Hello. This is so yummy. Mhm. And this was only like 300 yen. So that’s like what? $2 for three. Guys, it was so good that I’m getting another one. No shame. I still got a lot of coins. So, I guess I never fully introduced this town, but I’m in Uji, which is like the matcha capital, and that’s why you’ve been seeing mostly matcha in my content. Ooh, the sun is slowly setting. It’s getting a little colder, but I don’t really have much to do. I just have to get tins of matcha. And I’ve tried the things that I wanted to try. So, and so far everything’s been 10 out of 10. Can I try please? Yes. This one. [Music] Thank you. [Music] [Music] 2. [Music] [Music] I’m going to go to Lelay Lavo Cafe. I was going to go home first and just drop things off, but I feel like that would have wasted me another hour. So, I found it. Ah, there’s a line. [Music] Look, guys, it smells so nice in here. And they’re playing um Le, so the vibes are good. I’m just waiting my turn, but I’m next in line. 100 is already sold out today only. Okay, thank you. So, this park doesn’t have to noise. It’s very unique set to other. Hello [Music] Leavo sponsor me. This is some good advertising right here. I got my perfume. There’s like an hour to an hour and 30 minute long wait to pick it up, which is fine cuz I plan on doing some shopping anyway. And uh oh, there’s another girl who just pulled up with her DJI. Period. I got an espresso from their little cafe. They ran out of matcha, which is fine cuz I’ve had matcha all day. This is good. The girl who did the latte art was really good. I complimented her on it. She said it took her a year to master that, which I congratulate her for it because it was really cute. Can’t wait to show you guys what I got. [Music] Okay. [Music] check this six size that this letter is correct. Uh correct. Okay. So that open my picture please. Yes. Thank you. Please try to Oh, okay. Thank you very much. Thank you for your time. Thank you. Very cold, huh? Yeah, I love it. Thank you. Stay warm. Bye. [Music] Thank you. [Music] Hey guys, I’ve reached the shrine. The way I completely wasted like 10 minutes cuz I went the wrong way. I went down the street where all the food was and I thought it was like after that, but it was just to my right. Got here a little later because your girl had to sleep. And it was the longest sleep I’ve had so far. [Music] [Music] Hello. Cash only. Cash only. Okay. Thank you. Would you like barbecue sauce? Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] [Music] Oh, is that the case? Yeah. I love that. I love that. Thank you so much. Bye. [Music] The box is so small. Yeah. It’s like for a kid size. Yeah. Same size. Yes. Price. Yes, please. Thank you. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, [Music] hey, [Music] hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] Guys, it’s currently my last day. Oh, can’t can’t even see me. So, last night I I didn’t film a lot of my shopping cuz it was just literally me shopping around. But I was so tired after that. So, I just went straight home and just like took a hourong scalding hot shower. I check out in like 3 hours. So, I’m just going to go to Kapabashi Honodori Street and then I just got to go to Doniote to buy some last minute stuff. Oh, and then these sunglasses I got, by the way, from Dental Monster last night. But yeah, your girl is tired. Your girl needs to be home in her bed. It’s been a great trip. But I did have a lot of fun just being here by myself. Japan is definitely a country I highly recommend if you want to solo travel even as a girl cuz there’s been so many times where I just like walked down like a dark alley and my fight or flight was kind of confused but never felt any danger never really seemed to be in danger and yeah everywhere is safe even in Kyoto but obviously I was still mindful [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
I did not expect to love Kyoto and Uji this much. The video speaks for itself. The kindness of the locals there is unmatched. I can’t wait to be back! – B 🙂
