Night Ride Honda GB350 – 1h36m RAW SOUND Remote Japan POV
Oyako Bear Rock, a unique rock formation in Hokkaido, Japan September 19, 2025 – 17:32 This video is a continuation from the previous one. If you haven’t seen the previous video yet, be sure to check it out. It may not be so clear in the video, but it’s sunset time now. By the end of this video, it turns into a night ride. I’m on the Sea of Japan side, the western coast of Japan, so the sunset looks especially beautiful. The sunset about 30 minutes later is especially stunning, so please look forward to it. Alright, let’s go! Setana Town, where Oyako Bear Rock is located, lies at the westernmost tip of Hokkaido. It is surrounded by the great nature of the sea and mountains. It is a sister city with Hanford, USA, and they seem to have cultural exchanges. Although it offers beautiful nature, access is not convenient. You can’t reach it by train alone—you need to transfer to a bus. That’s why traveling by car or motorcycle is more convenient. It takes about two to three hours from Hakodate. If you’re visiting from overseas, it’s best to rent a car either in Hakodate or Sapporo. However, English is not widely understood, and you’ll find very few tourists from abroad. So please keep that in mind. When I say “English,” I mean any language other than Japanese—none of them will get you very far here. But hey, maybe that’s the charm of this place. Oh, and just to be clear—I’m not a spokesperson for Setana Town, so don’t get the wrong idea. Alright, let’s enjoy the ride for a while without any subtitles. Entering Yakumo Town. Yakumo is the only town in Japan that faces both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan. It’s also known as the birthplace of Hokkaido’s wooden bear carvings. Entering Otobe Town. Otobe Town is home to Shirafura, a white cliff about 20 meters high and nearly 500 meters long. It was the first touring spot I ever visited. There’s also a video of that ride, so be sure to check it out. I just noticed the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 battery is about to come loose, so I’m stopping here. Checking the footage, it looks like the battery had been coming loose for quite a while. Glad it didn’t come off and fall out! Entering Esashi Town. Esashi Town is said to be the birthplace of Hokkaido’s culture. Esashi thrived from the Edo to Meiji era with herring fishing. It was said, “Even Edo cannot match Esashi in May.” May was the peak season—so many herring filled the sea. The town was full of prosperity, beauty, and lively energy. Entering Kaminokuni Town. Kaminokuni has a landscape worthy of being called a medieval city. It’s known as the only town in Hokkaido where you can experience medieval history. Kaminokuni once flourished as a major medieval port and trade hub between the Japanese and the Ainu. Did you notice? There are hardly any streetlights on this road. It’s gradually getting darker now. It’s still okay for now, but soon the GB350’s headlight alone will feel really unreliable. So I’m hoping the car in front is going the same way as me. This road has bears and also deer. That’s why riding a motorcycle in the dark can be dangerous. There are more streetlights now. It feels reassuring once you reach this point. City night rides are great, but sometimes a countryside night ride like this is even better. Because here you can feel the quiet, the darkness, and the wild nature all around. In the city, heavy traffic makes it dangerous. In the countryside, it’s the animals that make it risky. Either way, night riding always comes with its own challenges. That’s why every ride at night keeps you alert and on edge. The end of the video is coming soon. If there are touring videos you’d like to see, or places in Japan you’d like me to visit, let me know in the comments. Your ideas might inspire the next ride. There are still about four minutes left, so enjoy the ride until the end. Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
