【広島→愛媛】”真夏のしまなみ海道” 1日で全6島巡る自転車旅!

Hi guys, this is Sushi Pedal catching the ferry to Mukaishima There are two ferry terminals Ekimae Ferry (Onomichi Station ↔ Mukaishima – Tomihama) and Onomichi Ferry (Onomichi – Dodo ↔ Mukaishima – Kanekichi). This time I’m boarding the Ekimae Ferry. The fare is 100 yen for adults, 50 yen for children, and 10 yen for bicycles . No ticket is required, payment is made in cash on board. It’s a short ferry ride of about 5 minutes. We’ve landed on the first island, Mukaishima. come from Nagano. come from Hyogo Prefecture. I’m from Toyama this way That family of riders we met on the ferry Classic Shimanami Kaido moment is crossing paths with the same cyclists again and again Watch out – scooters and bikes coming the over way we need to keep on the left and can’t look away when riding We’re landing on the second island, Innoshima. Ah, it says Innoshima water Castle . It’s Hikaru no Go! (favourite anime) As a side note, it says that Innoshima is the birthplace of Honinbo Shusaku, whose name appears in the story. Let me just check Oops, not that way Hey, there’s a path here! Can we cycle this way? Shall we give it a go? Wait, seriously? it’s a steep slope! lol I’m putting on cleat covers right now. When we think of pirates today, most people think of One Piece, but this is the castle of the Murakami Navy, who controlled the seas in the Sengoku era and kept order This museum lets you discover the story of Japan’s “Sengoku Pirates” Mainly used light Sengoku-era armor called Tosei-gusoku and Tatami-gusoku. Full set armor weighted roughly 9-20kg, and the heavy old style armor was 30kg Furthermore, Tatami-gusoku was foldable, It was light and mobile, making it well suited for naval battles Slow down carefully, this is where you need to be careful. We’ve landed on the third island, Ikuchijima. We’ve arrived at the gelato shop I was most excited for today! Why not just make it visible like this? That’s pro work! The lemon-colored post is cute! lol Oh, I saw your pants! All good lol It’s hot! Oh, you just said it was hot . I meant the bench That’s not how it was said We’ve landed on the fourth island, Omishima, This island has that famous landmark everyone talks about It was written on the sign just now Yes, this is the monument of the cyclist’s sanctuary Sorry, I’m late. I looked at the map later and it looks like there was a restroom right next to this place. Where should we go next? I want to eat soft serve ice cream at the Hakata roadside station. It’s nice! Hakata Salt Soft serves probably near the bridge, at a place called Hakata SC Park roadside station google map shows that station is closed. Really? It closes at 2pm no waaay! My map says it closes at 4pm which is true? For me, it says 11am-2pm . Ah, ice cream! It’s the same place though. Let’s just check it out anyway If it’s closed, we’ll skip it lol That’s sounds like you’re glad the shop’s closed, doesn’t it? We’re now at Omishima, the last two islands It’s a little cooler now. It was open. This is it – this is what I wanted to eat! The salted soft serve was creamier and way better than I thought It’s not in the video, but this is after a dip in the ocean to cool down let’s go quickly for the rest. Oh , the water’s fallen (it seems like I’m suddenly using a dialect I’ve never used before lol). It’s kind of like a mogul course here we go, this turn takes us to the start of the Mt. Kirou climb 2.8km to the top? Well, we’re starting to climb. 300m left, average grade is 15%?? The views keep getting better, while my energy keeps going down This view is so stunning, it leaves me speechless Bye- bye We came here by bike!! Thank you so much for watching until the end.
