PERFECT Sydney Getaway: The Entrance | Best Food, Stay & Play!

[ The Entrance | NSW Australia ] [Music] If you’re looking for the ultimate Sydney weekend getaway You’ve come to the right place In this Australia travel vlog We’re taking a trip to The Entrance New South Wales This relaxed seaside town is only a 1.5 hour drive north of Sydney Known for its stunning coastline, family-friendly activities and delicious food The Entrance is the perfect escape For anyone looking to unwind and explore In this Sydney travel guide we’ll share the best places to visit Our top food spots And where to stay [Music] Start your Entrance trip with a stop at The Entrance Visitor Centre Located right in the heart of town They offer plenty of travel tips, maps and recommendations To help you make the most of your visit Plus it’s a great spot to learn about the area’s history and upcoming events [Music] There’s always a festive atmosphere here at The Entrance Behind me is an amusement park set of rides So you can see a big ferris wheel There’s also the swinging chairs There’s even dodgem cars [Music] At 3:30 p.m. each day at The Entrance it’s Pelican Time So we’ve got some pelicans behind us And we’re about to see them get fed [Music] These are the Australian Spectacled Pelican Now how do you can tell the difference between the males and the females Is the males are the taller of the birds The females are the shorter of the birds So if you’re looking at the birds here on the platform And you see Arnie here He’s a male You see the two females behind him are shorter They’re female [Music] These are such beautiful birds And they live until 25 years old [Music] [ Where to eat at The Entrance ] Long Jetty is our top pick for the best food in the area And is a must visit for any Sydney foodie From hip cafes to eclectic eateries This suburb is brimming with culinary delights Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, vegan treats or specialty coffee Long Jetty has something for everyone There are some awesome cafes on the Central Coast of New South Wales We’re in Long Jetty at a cafe called Green Tangerine And it’s a really funky cafe They’ve got an amazing selection of breakfast options And you can even can build your own breakfast We’ve chosen the corn fritters Which come with halloumi You also had the choice of maple bacon Which sounded really good as well But we decided to also build our own breakfast So we got the maple bacon The poach eggs The beetroot relish And the mixed potatoes and cheese This all looks so delicious So you’ve got indoor and outdoor seating here And we’ve chosen the outdoor seating Which has views of the water So this was $24 for the corn fritters And $20 for our build our own breakfast But it depends on what options you choose So I’m loving that these corn fritters come with a hollandaise sauce And we’ve got the… Ohhh… Got some avocado and an egg on top This looks so yummy That corn fritter is really flavourful And the halloumi is such a nice addition And you’ve got the creaminess 
of the avocado as well And that hollandaise sauce is just brilliant And I’m really excited about this maple bacon It’s really super crispy It’s got a nice glaze on there as well Oh yeah That mixture of salty and sweet is really satisfying Try the beetroot relish Mmm yeah that’s quite sweet And yeah the mixed potatoes look really good I like the cheesiness Ooh so they’ve got some normal potato As well as sweet potato which I wasn’t expecting The cheese just gives it a nice little bit of saltiness as well So many good options here They’ve got some great drink options as well So I highly recommend Green Tangerine in Long Jetty Jasper’s Restaurant is one of the newest restaurants in Long Jetty And we feel we’ve uncovered a foodie hidden gem It is a tapas style restaurant And offers a tantalising and diverse menu We went with their banquet menu for $69 per person And were really impressed Make sure you visit before word gets out What I really like about Jaspers is they’ve got a whole range of eclectic menu items So it really is a flavours of the world So I’ve had some Middle Eastern salad There’s been some Spanish croquettes And there churros later on And now I’m going to tuck into my Japanese karaage chicken For classic Australian pub fare with a modern twist check out the Long Jetty Hotel This laid-back spot serves up everything from crispy chicken schnitzel to gourmet burgers Paired with refreshing drinks and a relaxed atmosphere It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring [Music] While The Entrance Beach offers stunning views Strong rips makes it unsafe for swimming Instead head over to nearby swimming spots like Toowoon Bay Or the ocean baths for a safer and more enjoyable experience What a glorious morning So we’re here at Toowoon Bay And we’re going to have a morning swim Toowoon Bay is really nice If you just like doing ocean swimming where there’s no waves It’s just really flat Really protected So if you can see behind me we’re just going to swim all the way along there It’s going to be glorious [Music] One of the best activities in The Entrance is to do the Coast to Lake walk And it’s a loop all around the coast and around the lake You can start at The Entrance Take a nice leisurely walk around the lake Then cut across at Long Jetty to Toowoon Bay And then walk all the way back along the coast It’s just really wonderful really nice and relaxing with great views [Music] If you like swimming in the seawater but you’re not a big fan of the open ocean You can come to the Grant McBride Baths at The Entrance Just behind me There… I think it’s a 50m pool It’s got a great outlook overlooking the ocean Right now it looks like we’ve come to the cleaning day So it’s not open today But you can swim all year round It’s free If you’re a fan of swimming clubs Then there’s the Tuggerah Tuffs Who swim every Sunday morning here May through to September [Music] Norah Head Lighthouse is a beautiful lighthouse on the Central Coast of New South Wales It’s one of over 350 lighthouses on the coastline of Australia This Lighthouse was opened in 1903 It stands at 27m tall And there are guided tours that take you up to the top of the lighthouse every day of the week The guided tours cost $10 for adults and $5 for children [Music] [ Where to stay at The Entrance ] I’m so excited to share with you our accommodation at The Entrance This is our view from our balcony And you can see everything So right in front of me you have the actual Entrance Where the ocean meets the lake It’s just beautiful And there’s Jay What do you think about our accommodation Jay? I have absolutely loved it here Staying right on the water here is just so beautiful Especially the sunrises Because you can see the sun rising across the water Yeah and just look at that amazing view Ah it’s just magicical Yeah we’ve just enjoyed a couple of beautiful sunrises We’ve enjoyed beautiful sunsets as well It’s just been magical And I’ll just take you inside as well So we’ve got this really lovely living area Kitchenette with everything that you need And I’ll take you through to the bedroom as well It’s a one bedder apartment But it has everything you need So this is a really lovely bedroom Yeah a lot of a natural light That bed was amazing I had such a great night’s sleep in there as well And then we’ve got our bathroom here which is really nice And I always appreciate apartments that have a washing machine So handy If you are interested at staying at this place Make sure you check out the link in our description The Entrance offers a range of accommodation to suit every traveller For luxury, check out Pullman Magenta Shores Resort A five-star retreat with a golf course and spa facilities For a mid-range option the Ocean Front Motel is a great choice Combining comfort with stunning waterfront locations On a budget?
