This video documents a cycling expedition toward the abandoned village of Waridani in Ikeda Town, Fukui Prefecture, in 2025. The journey starts near Shizuhara—around the vine bridge and waterwheel—and follows a quiet mountain road for about 5 km. On the first attempt, the location wasn’t clear and I turned back. On this second attempt, I ride closer to the site of the former village.

According to town history and local sources, Waridani is located along the Waridani River, a tributary of the Asuwa River. It is reported that the village became uninhabited in Showa 39 (1964). In addition to agriculture, the villagers reportedly supported themselves with wood-turning, lacquer gathering, sericulture, and kōzo (paper mulberry) cultivation.

この動画は、福井県池田町にある廃村「割谷（わりだに）」を目指す自転車探検の記録です。志津原の観光地であるかずら橋や水車小屋のあたりを出発地点とし、人影のほとんどない山道を約5km進みます。初回の試みでは廃村の場所が把握できず途中で引き返しましたが、この2回目で割谷集落まで到達します。
