Cycle* THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025 #cycle #live
Well, as it happens, the team is here today, so… We’re expecting a high-tempo game from the first half, but somehow at the end… Good morning, fellow cycle road race fans. At this time, we will be bringing you live coverage of The Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025. Commentary is provided by Mr Osamu Kurimura of the Japan Bicycle Promotion Association. Thank you for your kind attention. Thank you very much Live commentator. Right then, yes, this marks the second time we’ve held this event. It’s been two years, right? Right. And finally, the goal was to become an official race recognised by the New International Games Federation, you see. We have returned. As a true legacy event of these Tokyo Olympics, we’re all starting from the same point, you see. That’s right. It does lift you up somehow. It brings back memories, doesn’t it? Right, right. We’ve powered up. The elite men are The course has been extended from the first tournament to 133.8 kilometres. Up until the midway point, the course utilised sections of the Tokyo 2020 Games’ inner-city route. 13 cities served as the urban stage. A proper one-way race, so to speak. As Mr Kuriyama mentioned, it’s an officially sanctioned international road cycling race. In terms of category, As for holding it as a Continental Circuit Class Two event, well… This is, well, as an official race. Yes, it means we can make a solid impression. International, I see. Well, the course is really quite something for a domestic road race, isn’t it? It incorporates densely populated areas, or rather, urban districts. A large-scale local race would be good too. Right then, let’s take a look at the men’s and women’s courses here. First, for the girls’ course, as you can see in the bottom left corner, 335-kilometre course, top left of the map. The course consists of two laps around the Ome circuit. Starting from in front of Ōme Station and returning to in front of Ōme Station. This means there will be two mountain points along the way. For the men’s race, Musashino Forest Park was born in Tokyo, wasn’t he? From there, we started. Yes, whilst proceeding on the 13th, the final stage involves four laps of the circuit course in Ōme City. Two sprint points in the first half And then there are four participation points on the circuit course. Right then, this is Minami-Ōsawa at intermediate speed. Passing through here. There are two locations in Spain. This is the intermediate sprint at Ōme Station Quite a few people have already gathered. And the mountain point is here, yes. It’s at the Ome gathering place. This means that for the men’s category, they would have passed through here four times. Yes, from the teacher. Yes.
Yes, from the teacher. Well, naturally, yes. Well, truly, you know. There are those ups and downs, and it’s very active, isn’t it? Watching it, I think it’s a well-balanced course. Yes, that’s right. First, head to the circuit Well, it’s the men’s line course, mind you. Yes, about half of it will be run on the course used for the Tokyo Olympics. I think it’s truly a legacy event, and the circuit itself is rather demanding, you see. Yes, there are quite a few climbs too, so well… It’s the inaugural event, or rather, the first time we’re using this course. It’s still unclear what kind of player it suits, but this lap is quite a sight to behold. It seems to be a course kit, doesn’t it? Well then, I look forward to it. Right then, the 41-day strike participants have now reached the starting point. Right then, let’s see, here we are, for both men and women… we’d like to introduce Ome City, which will be the decisive battleground of this tournament. The plum park that heralds spring’s arrival in Ōme City
The plum blossoms at the plum park herald the arrival of spring in Ōme City. Over 1,200 plum blossoms are in bloom within the park. Mount Ontake is gaining popularity as a hiking spot. At the summit, 929 metres above sea level, stands Musashi Mitake Shrine. Spreading out at the foot of the mountain is Mitake Valley. In this beautiful gorge, selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Famous Waters, you can enjoy river activities, and in autumn, you can see the particularly splendid autumn leaves. In February, the Ōme Marathon is held, attracting approximately 20,000 participants from across the nation. The course also runs part of the circuit for the Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025. Head out to the rice fields of Ōme City, where beautiful scenery throughout the seasons and heartwarming culture thrive. How about it? Every time I came to Japan, I felt happy. So, this would be the aerial view of the area in front of Ōme Station. Yes So this is where the finish line is, but come on At the finish line in front of Ōme Station, An announcer who cycles around various locations to introduce the charm of each area And with events like the Oita Urban Classic taking place, Cycle announcer responsible for cycling programmes in Oita Prefecture, where cycling is popular Ms Yumi Kudo is here. Ms Kudo, yes. Reporting from Omiya Station Jr. I’m Tomomi Kudo from J:COM Oita Cable Telecom. I look forward to working with you. I also participate in various cycling events and races in my private time. Mr Kurimura, it’s been a while since Fuji Hill It’s a pleasure to meet you. Well, thank you very much. Yes, thank you for your help. Now then, in front of that Jr Ome Station, you see… and it’s also the starting point for those elite women, you see. As you can see, the starting gate has been set up. Also, around the area are the relevant personnel, and oh, the female athletes are already lining up at the starting point. And the start is scheduled for approximately 20 minutes from now. The female athletes appear to be lined up in a single file. When I spoke to the female athlete who was doing a trial run yesterday, The downhill isn’t particularly tricky, so is where the real contest begins. An attack battle is anticipated, so although there is a hill climb, He said it would likely unfold like a criterium race. Right then, the tension is palpable. Right then, this is the circuit course around Ōme. Looking at the map, it appears as shown here. Yes It’s starting to reach the final stages from that boy’s perspective, isn’t it? And the girls have two weeks. Boys complete four laps, each approximately 17 kilometres long. This means the route involves an elevation gain of approximately 300 metres. This spot is truly where the battle will be decided. The thermometer here in Ōme City currently reads 26.1 degrees, making it very pleasant. With the recent streak of scorching days and sweltering heat, today is… I wonder if that shopkeeper was on our side too. I imagine the players are in peak condition. Now, in this Ome City, plums have become a local speciality in the surrounding area. At Nishimura, a long-established shop specialising in plum pepper with a history of around 60 years, and has been making plum daifuku as seen here for approximately 30 years. I have. Among them, you see, there are ones where the plums pickled in plum wine are candied and preserved whole, so the plums are included whole. I was given some to try yesterday, you see. It was wonderfully sweet and sour, and absolutely delicious. Do give it a try, everyone. Also, this Omi one, the area around the circuit course with its many laps… As you can see, there is also a long-established Japanese confectionery shop called Heso Manjuu Sōhonpo. Here, you can enjoy Japanese sweets as they are being made. Watching the race while eating Japanese sweets An experience truly unique to Neko Nippon races. You can enjoy such a luxurious time. This will be followed by the final phase. We’ll be bringing you extensive coverage from the Ome circuit. Stay tuned. Yes, Ms Kudo Tomomi, I’m terribly sorry. My apologies for the name. Though we weren’t connected, it was indeed Mr Kudo. Well then, next up, you see… At the starting point, familiar from cycle road race commentary Mr Kiyoki Adachi is present. Mr Adachi, thank you. Yes. Good morning This is Adachi. Right now, you see. We’re at Musashimori Park, the men’s starting line. From this starting point visible now, in terms of the screen, you see… it appears the athletes will soon be running towards the foreground. I arrived here around 6 o’clock this morning, you see. From that time on, there were already quite a few Cycle Roadsters present. The excitement and, well, the tension is gradually building now, I suppose. That’s about where we are. The temperature was around 22 to 23 degrees when we arrived in the morning. I thought to myself, ‘What a pleasant breeze,’ but now… a little patch of blue sky has appeared. The temperature seems to be rising slightly, I expect it will continue to rise further during the day, reaching around 25.6 degrees.
25 degrees, 6 degrees. I expect it will rise further during the day. Now, at the starting point, as you can see, that interview and… and then the team presentations are being conducted. One point that caught my attention was yesterday’s performance by Genki Yamamoto. I got the impression he was feeling rather motivated today. He was talking about taking matters into his own hands, and also, you see… Nakayama from Shimano is apparently from this local area. There was also talk that it’s a course he’s quite familiar with running. Personally, I’m rather looking forward to it. After this, I’ll be heading towards Ōme myself, and then… I’d be grateful if I could be featured in various places today, such as interviews and so forth. That’s how I see it. Please take care of me today. Right then, thank you. Yes, please. Thank you very much. The two reporters also helped to liven up the event during the race. at various locations throughout the race. Right then, Mr Kuriyama, let’s proceed to look at the participating teams. Yes First, the boys, but This would be the 17 teams, but what do you think? Yes A poor match. The professional team’s positional tech, the funky player, is fielding… right, right.
A poor match. Pro team position Tech Bee Funky player. This is the only second division team in this tournament. Other teams active in Asia, well… Asia’s annual Ru Jai tournament, with top domestic professional teams also participating. The team composition is quite high-level and internationally diverse. Right then, moving on to the women’s event. For the women, as you can see, 19 competitors are taking part, though 18 are required. Yes, that’s the case. What do you think? Yes, first of all, you see… All Japan Champion Kaori Kobayashi is one to watch, isn’t she? Number 11, yes. And then, well, let’s see… Prominent player Watanabe Kano is Karino, and then… There are also athletes like Ishida, who came second in the student individual road race. Then there’s Yumi Kaneko, and so on. Also, we’ll be featuring Kawauchi Mura from the Paris Gorin Nem TV Japan national team, so this footage is quite old too. It looks like it’s going to be a high-level race. Yes, I’m sorry. There’s a place handling that number. Officially, it will be a 17-player squad, then. Ah yes, these are the female athletes at the starting point, I should say. So, ahead of today’s start, yesterday… Team presentations were held at Mitsui Premium Outlets Minami-Osawa. will be Right then, over here, please.
Please take your seats here. All the players and teams are gathering now. This Minami-Ōsawa area also serves as the location for the intermediate sprint, doesn’t it? For the men’s race, yes, that’s right. Right, right. There’s also the corner-out head. I believe this is the same area where he used to live. Shall we pass it on to the female player, Kaneko? Players Kobayashi and Kasuga, that makes three, doesn’t it? The top female athletes representing Japan are… and now we move to the men.

This one, then. Please come now The players are in good form too, aren’t they? Yes, it’s the team. The team that did it won the Japanese championship today. Japanese champions. I’d like to go back a bit, though. Right then, the Philippine team. Right then, and we’ve got quite a few international teams gathered here too. Yes, Asia’s top-tier teams have assembled. Japanese players. And that’s the one to watch, isn’t it? Yes, overcoming that shock, no, the players came here to Japan, didn’t they? It’s an incredibly strong team composition, and this includes Zebura Ari too. Order Stage, and we’ve invited Conti too.
Order Stage Office. And we’ve invited Conti too. Yes, with two Grand Tour stage winners on board, the others too, you know. We’ve got a strong line-up of young talents, you see. Yes, I’d say they’re the top contenders for the championship again today. Right then And now let’s take a look at the programme’s featured player: Mr Kuriyama. First up, these four players? Yes, that’s right. The Conty’s Bar Green I just introduced is, well… The topic is the player’s teammates, yes. Well then, what else… That Carpetus A formidable player who belonged to a Japanese team. And as for Yumeiasu, well, last year in Oita… Urban Classic winner, so well… Though we’re not quite up to speed in some areas, first off, these four overseas players… I suppose they’re the ones to watch. Right, and let’s take a look at the domestic players to watch. Right then, looking at the results from the most recent races, these three who performed well in the All-Japan Championship And then there’s the J Pro Tour Hiroshima event. With this result, Mr Oka also finished second, so well… Well, these three players… Of course, there are many other strong players too, but It’s a bit hard to tell how well suited they are to the course until they actually race. First off, these three seem like the ones to watch, I suppose. Right, so we’ve looked at the players to watch at this point. Now, please watch the interviews with the featured players, including those just introduced. Jesse Team’s Hiroki Kamada. Regarding this race, how do you intend to approach it? Well, yes. Well, at the start, I wasn’t quite sure how my legs were feeling either. I’ll take it easy and see how it goes, aiming to properly match the standard pace in the latter half. How are you reading the course for this Tama Road Race? I’ve already covered the first half of the course quite a bit myself during university training sessions and such. I know it like the back of my hand. I’ve never run the latter part around Ōme at all, so I suppose I’m looking forward to that bit. There’s a hill climb in Ome too, you see. How does the team intend to proceed? Well, we’ll conserve our energy in the first half. so we could properly adjust our pace for that tougher section in the latter half. I intend to strive to be able to properly aim and move in the latter half. Now, we have Atsushi Oka of Utsunomiya Blitzen. Congratulations on your victory in last week’s Hiroshima Criterium race. Thank you very much. How are today’s conditions? Well, I think both the team and I personally are managing to maintain that good form. Yes, I’d like to give it my best tomorrow. This Tama Road Race – last time I finished fifth, but How would you like to run this time? Well, the course has changed since last time, I suppose it’s become a slightly steeper, more demanding course? Well, I suppose it became a course more suited to me. That’s the impression I have. Yes, I intend to aim carefully. As a team, how do you intend to approach this race? Well, I suppose there are various stations, so… I’d like to make sure we get on board with the escape too, well… Personally, I’d like to see if we can hold onto that until the endgame and make it count. This is Motoki Yamamoto, driver for the Keina Racing Team. Well done. Yes, thank you for your hard work. How are you feeling at the moment? That’s right. After the All-Japan Championships, I’ve been taking a bit of a break while… Well, I’ve managed to get my condition back in good shape and am ready to take on the challenge again. How are you reading the course for this Tama Road Race? Well, yes. Well, until you enter that hea loop course, it’s relatively calm, I suppose. I suppose it’s a gentle course, but After entering there, the circuit course is extremely undulating. Well, I reckon it’s a course where the climbs will decide the outcome. As a team, how do you intend to approach this course? Well, as for that feature, there are an awful lot of players who can climb. Since they’re here again this time, well, those players will cooperate and work out who will… whoever remains among the players, how to structure the contest. Well, various situations change during the race, so and I hope we can adapt accordingly. How does Yamamoto-san himself wish to proceed? Well, it depends on how things unfold, but… In my case, I can still compete even when I’m on the defensive, so… while aiming for the scenario where I’m most likely to achieve the best results. I’d like to run like that. Team Solution Tech Beenie Fanty’s player, Kōya Shiro. Now, Mr Shiro is a player with many fans both domestically and internationally. Having already completed the practice run, how did it go? Well, you see, it’s not a complete closure, so… Well, it was stopping here and there, but I did manage to see the key flag, you know. Well, I also saw the remaining climb up the tunnel, which was about two or three kilometres, I suppose. Well, you only pass the finish line once at the end. and we’ll also confirm where exactly that finish line is. Well, as a team, we’ve managed to eliminate tomorrow’s cause for concern. I suppose that’s a good thing. Yes. What kind of race development do you anticipate? Well, no one has ever run it before, have they? Well, it’s just me, isn’t it? I did the first 20 kilometres. And then there’s Mr Masuda, or rather, Mr Masuda is also present, isn’t he? Well, apart from that, everyone else hasn’t raced, you see. I myself don’t really know how things will unfold either, but Will we take the initiative? Will it be a gruelling, relentless race? Or really, if something shifts somewhere… and we’ll counter accordingly? Yeah, well, either way, it depends on how the other side—or rather, everyone—plays their hand. How is Nakajima-san expected to operate within the team? Well, I suppose as a player, it’s the same for races in Asia and Japan, and the same goes for Japanese players too. Well, there are several teams in Asia now, and the level of those riders is… I know best, you see. That’s where I come in as the road captain. This is good. This is a clever escape. This is something you mustn’t do. Escaping, you see while I’d like to build the race, you see. Truly, today the team is really pulling together. Well, how should I put it… The important parts, you know, properly Right then, it seems you’ll be playing a crucial role while keeping a watchful eye. Yes, indeed. He carries the weight of expectations as Captain Hashimoto. Right Right then, at Sano Forest Park the starting ceremony is taking place, but no Preparations for the ribbon-cutting, I see. The individuals shown earlier were Takahashi Katsuhiro, Mayor of Inagi City, and Suda Yūjirō, Deputy Mayor. This is Mr Toru Shirai, Mayor of Koganei City. was made Next, this is Mr Sakurai, Deputy Mayor of Machida City. The person next to him, then. This is Mr Nagatomo Yoshiki, Mayor of Chofu City. Next is Mr Norio Takano, Mayor of Fuchu City. And Takashi Kawamura, Mayor of Mitaka City Yes, Kazuo Chiaki, Mayor of Hachioji City. Well, that’s quite something. That’s how it is in each local authority, isn’t it? The top people were gathered Generally, the scale of the tournament is indicated by the number of participants, isn’t it? Right then, from here we’ll proceed with the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

This time, please take the 31st from last time. Jim Racing Japan’s Haruka Watanabe is now the winner of the previous tournament. Watanabe The player has just been introduced. who won last month’s All Japan Road Race Championship Well, in this sense, for the women’s race, it’s primarily a contest of strength. It gradually becomes a case of being whittled down, doesn’t it? Yes, that’s right. Well, it depends on Kōshien, but when they secure their first victory… it can sometimes become a race to see who gets there first. Yes Kobayashi is still wearing the All-Japan Champion jersey, and of course he’s been selected for the Olympic Japanese national team. doesn’t seem to have arrived. I haven’t done it yet. Number 411 in the green jersey, yes. I’ve just picked it up. And as for the Tokyo 2020 Japanese national team, That’s rather good. We’re under one minute to start again. It’s just that it’s not quite finished yet, so it’s not all good news. wearing a regular tracksuit Right then, less than a minute until the start. Now, start. Well, the mayor, you see, is the starter, so we’ll have to wait for his signal. Right then, we can see Waseda’s Edge uniform too. Player Tanaka is currently ranked second among women’s university players. Yes, this is the Doshisha University player. Right, right. Waseda has two players. Right, right. Players Okura and Okamoto, the two of them, right now… The starting pistol sounded, and they began their start quietly and slowly. This draw is good for the footage, yes. And this… the finish is heading in the opposite direction. Essentially, it comes back towards you and finishes. Well… This is the only part that isn’t a circuit, you see. Yes, the circuit is where we’re about to enter now. And finally, we’ll exit the circuit and head back along the current straight in the opposite direction. It’s just a little bit, about 500 metres, where the straight section juts out like that. Well, as my player mentioned in the interview earlier… In short, that’s the part below, isn’t it? Yes Right then, and now in front of the starting point, the guest riders are lining up. The men’s elite, that is, the guest riders.
The men’s elite team. Guest riders. Right then, let’s start afresh. Even if Mr Nomura were a deity, I should like to introduce each team one by one. Everyone, this is the one, isn’t it? A hearty round of applause, please. First, let us introduce the domestic teams from the 90s. Here we are. There are also para-cyclists present. Following their success at the Paralympics, the team’s list bike Ah, Mr Takeshi Takei, isn’t he? Yes, he’s a guest rider. Grand Cycle Tokyo Ambassadors Mr Takeshi Takei and Mr Inamura Cycling Advisor Daisuke Nakanaka And on the far left is voice actor Mr. Yūji Nojima, who joined the programme with Mr. Kuriyama. Well, yes, that’s right. I absolutely adore the Ranciclin Originally, the Yamsi pedal was the catalyst. I love it again And then, para-cyclists Shota Kawamoto and Kazuha Fukui And Kazuwa Kimura secured Kazuya Kanno, the healthy player. The team is being introduced right behind us at this very moment. The guest riders here are applauding. This is the microphone camera from behind the riders, isn’t it? But with so many customers gathering from early morning, it’s really lively, isn’t it? Also, this location is truly the starting point for Tokyo 2020. Well, prior to that, there was a pre-event tournament, and this very same spot was the starting point for that too. It really is a pleasure to be back here. Well, yes. That time two years ago, well… Well, it seems that way. Regarding Tokyo Tower This was the finish line. It was adopted, but well, finally internationally became an officially recognised race by the International Federation, just like the Tokyo 2020 situation. In essence, starting from the same location has been realised. That’s right. Well, it’s rather iconic, isn’t it? Yes, that Olympics truly left a lasting legacy. has truly taken shape as a result of that event being held properly. That’s the kind of tournament it is, isn’t it? The runners too, aren’t they really putting it into practice? As you’ve been introduced It’s particularly special for Japanese players, isn’t it? It really does come down to that spot at the Olympics, doesn’t it? Very well. I shall commence. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have cooperated in organising this event. to all those lining the route It really is still only half past seven in the morning, you see. Having so many customers gathered here watching over us, well, it’s a truly grateful situation, isn’t it? It really makes you feel the excitement of road racing in Japan all over again. It’s also a place like that. But how are these players’ results today? Right then, this is the starter. The Elite Men’s Starter is the Chairman of the Grand Cycle Top Executive Committee. Tokyo Governor Rinko Nakamura I do hope you will give it your full support. Well, we too are part of the Grand Circle. Well, we’re handling all your arrangements, aren’t we? Very much so. Well, it’s really picking up again as an event. Thank you very much. As for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, this is an event to properly connect this reception in practice.

We’ve been doing various things, and one can sense the sort of results, can’t one? Yes, that’s right. Well, it’s still legacy, you see. It’s precisely because we held Tokyo Green that we now have something to pass on to the next generation. Well, actually, it was quite significant for the Olympics, you see. that legacy aspect carries quite a bit of weight, you see. Cup, it’s been like that all along, hasn’t it? It’s not just a one-off thing; well, that’s the catalyst. I hear it’s about building a culture, you know. That’s one of them, isn’t it? Yes The temperature is 23.8 degrees at the starting point. Finally, the start Right then, the starting gun has just sounded. The guest riders will lead the start. As this is the men’s 133-kilometre race, the guest rider will lead the way. resulted in a quiet start. This should be an exciting battle between the domestic and international teams. Some of Asia’s top teams are taking part, so It’s even more packed than a regular domestic race, isn’t it? Mr Nojima, is it? I’ll be covering the women’s medals too, but she genuinely loves cycling herself. She also competes in various events. Mr Imanaga is a familiar face, isn’t he? Yes This is the first time a Japanese rider has competed in the Tour de France. And Ami Inamura and Takeshi Sō were voted in the Grand Cycle poll, well… I’m always honoured to be working alongside them too. Both of them, who genuinely adore sports, have taken an interest in cycling. and are helping to build the excitement. behind them, the para-cyclists are riding alongside them, you see. Waving their hands, yes, that’s good. The children are here too. See you later. Right now, as we leave Musashino Forest Park… well It really does mean driving along the national highway, you see. Mr Horse, it would have been unthinkable just a generation ago. It’s unthinkable, isn’t it? Well, Tokyo 2020, you see. Locking down the city – well, it is the Olympics, after all. I suppose it was quite something, though. Well, I felt the power of the Olympics there, yes. Well, being able to hold such a good race, a good competition, on our own really is… It’s moving, you know? Yeah, it really makes you feel like times have changed. Well, that’s all part of it, I suppose. It’s undoubtedly the Olympic legacy that serves as the starting point. And in Tokyo, no less. Yes Tricycle. And yes, all sorts of those Panacycles, you know? Yes, that’s right. Well, there are all sorts of bicycles, you see. This one here, visually impaired athletes use this sort of thing Across the nation, you see Yes Fukui-san, this is for three people. And next to that is the handbike, isn’t it? Yes, it’s a hand-powered type for those with leg impairments. Truly, this para-cycle and I, that para-cycling event at the Paralympics I was responsible for that event at the time. There are various cycles tailored to different disabilities, and the competitions are genuinely fascinating. Everyone, how I was deeply moved, but the fact that such athletes are leading the way is also gives one pause for thought. The opening parade. The Japanese para-cycling team is really strong, you know. They’re mass-producing medals too, and this parade run is still going on for quite a while, isn’t it? Well, yes, it’s climbing more than you’d expect here. Right. To all participants in the parade, you athletes must be feeling the pressure from behind, right? You can’t really afford to run too slowly, can you? Mr Takei has also been working extensively with Endo. Along with Mr Tamura, Mr Tanaka is waving too. Well, Mr Ko, you really have gathered quite a crowd of Endo customers, haven’t you? Yes Well, today, you see, this player, Shiro, is participating using the top bib number, but well… He’s also participated in the Tour since 2009, though he’s done a lot of Grand Tours. It was Mr Imanaka who opened that door in the modern era, you see. Yes, Mr Imanaka also led the way. This is how the mantle is passed down in this Sendō lineage.
and And it is passed on to the players who follow. Yes, that’s right. Mr Nakanaka Daisuke, well… He competed in the Tour de France in 1990, so that’s about six years ago now, I believe. And Araki’s first Tour de France appearance was in 2019, wasn’t it? In the sense that the baton is being passed on to the next generation of riders, Even a player like Arashi is now, well, a 40-year-old veteran. Now that I’m in my forties, and on this path, well, once more, the final stretch. Running a race on a closed-off course is deeply moving. As the previous competitor mentioned in their interview, The only athletes who actually raced this course in the main event were Araki and Matsuda. Yes, as they are the two members of the Tokyo 2020 Japanese national team. Yes, both of them are participating this time, so… They’re both seasoned veterans now, aren’t they? Ah, but the other players can pass through here again. It really is a legacy. No, you’re absolutely right. Ah, even when we come out onto this main road, you see, there are quite a few people waiting along the roadside. Yes, naturally, the guest riders’ smiles just get even more… well, more frequent, don’t they? Right through Tokyo, yes. Truly a major thoroughfare, you see. And we’re driving along it, yes. Starting from Saki Park Broadcast is now progressing Less than 132 kilometres to go. Still in parade run. And first from this city of Mitaka, yes. Well, we’ll be passing through Mitaka City on the way. First, we’ll be entering Fuchu City. Still the parade. Right then, next up is… Here, it will pass through shortly. Well, some parts are already passing through now. Let us proceed to introduce the four types. Four types of guidance. The four papers you will see are these. First, when it comes to Chōfu City’s Chōji area… The town where that beloved national character was born. I’m sure you all know it. It’s Gegege no Kitarō. In the land associated with author Shigeru Mizuki, Kitarō and his companions will greet you throughout the town. Kadokawa Daiei Studio It is also known as a film town where film and video-related companies, including Nikkatsu Chofu Studio, are concentrated. It has also served as a filming location for numerous films. And Jindaiji Temple, boasting a history of 1300 years. When it comes to famous events held at this landmark since the Edo period, it’s the Daruma Market, isn’t it? Daruma dolls imbued with wishes are auspicious objects that give form to one’s aspirations. Autumn begins with the Chofu Fireworks The town is in a festive mood This year marks the 70th anniversary of the city’s establishment. A rhythm packed with history, culture and entertainment. Why not take a stroll yourself? Next up is Mitaka City. When it comes to spring in Mitaka, it’s the cherry blossoms along the Sengawa River here. On an ordinary stroll, rapeseed flowers and cherry blossoms bloom A scene straight out of a picture book Then, taking a slight detour to Ōsawa Village Colourful carp streamers swim through the blue sky, and water-filled rice paddies Here, the traditional Japanese early summer remains. Come nightfall, Otaru softly glows You can also enjoy scenery that feels as though nature itself has gently lit the way. A charming old house stands there, conveying the rural life of yesteryear where the sound of waterwheels echoes. The nature of Mitaka gently lingers in the hearts of those who visit. Next is the Golden Stone. The cherry blossoms of Koganei, where the Tama River flows, bloom in full splendour.
The golden cherry blossoms of Koganei draw the flow of the Tama River This location, which also appears in Masaoka Shiki’s poetry, has been designated a place of scenic beauty by the state. has now reached its hundredth anniversary. Such a golden name—what is the origin of this place name? From the abundant water that flows, worthy of gold, Yellow is replaced by small. It is said that Koganei became golden. The town features the Kokubunji Escarpment, which stretches east-west along the boundary between the high plateau to the north and the low plateau to the south, extending all the way to the city centre. where groundwater springs forth, creating a tranquil oasis. Watercourse and the names lining it: Kogamei-zakura Do please stop by Finally, Fuchu City. Speaking of Fuchu City, it is home to Ōkunitama Shrine, the principal shrine of Musashi Province and one of the Five Great Shrines of Tokyo. As the most potent power spot within the capital It is particularly renowned as a deity for matchmaking and warding off misfortune. At such a great shrine as Ōkunitama Shrine, various festivals are held. At the Ōkuninushi Shrine Setsubun Festival held every February, famous guests make an appearance. a grand bean-throwing ceremony takes place. And then in May, the Ōkunitama Shrine Annual Festival Dark Festival will be held. During the period, it attracts a staggering 800,000 visitors. Beyond Ōkuninushi Shrine, Musashi-Fuchū, Kumano Shrine, ancient burial mounds, and the site of the former capital Many ancient ruins exist, such as the site of the Musashi Provincial Government Office. Please do visit Fuchu to experience its history whilst touring these power spots. Water and cherry blossoms: Japan’s original landscape, history and tales And to think such a place existed right beside the traditional city Why not take a moment to relax amidst your busy days? These are the four types introduced. Now then, ladies, the mountainous points are coming into view, aren’t they? Indeed. Already, the story is unfolding in a rather disjointed manner. Tokyo 2020 Japanese representative Yumi Kaneko initiates That was set up by Japan’s gold medallist, Kaori Kobayashi, who scored many goals. They formed the leading pair, didn’t they? Yes, that’s right. It seems we’ve already reached the point where it’s become a contest of strength. That’s right. Even in the latter half of the first round, it’s all over the place, isn’t it? Well, the distance isn’t that great there either, so perhaps it’s a case of setting things in motion early. The women’s is 33 kilometres. And the boys are still in the parade section, heading west along Higashi-Hachi Road, aren’t they? After this, before the first dismount, they turn left and head towards Fuchū Station, right? The Tokyo Higashi-Hachi Road connects Hachioji and Tokyo, you see. Higashi-Hachi, Tokyo, Hachioji area, I suppose Yes, Tokyo is stretching out like this, east and west, you see. And that area, you know. The national highway, right? Yes, this is the VTR of the lady passing through, isn’t it? With Hiromi Kaneko leading the way, Japan’s champion Kobayashi is hanging on, hanging on for dear life. Right. Discrimination No. 1531 Two people passed by at the front. Well, the men will also pass through here four times later on, I suppose. Right then, as expected, we had interviews with each competitor, but it looks like the difficulty level is high. It might fall apart. And is Nancy gradually taking the path? The parade hasn’t officially started yet, you see. It seems the speed is gradually increasing now. Yes, the guest rider has now finished their run, correct? This pace, well, yes. If it’s too slow, the players actually find it harder. Even though it’s a parade, I reckon they’re raising it at about 40 kilometres per hour, aren’t they? I see. Yes And then afterwards, yes Turning left towards Fuchū Station, something like that, I suppose. Well, the Kōshū Kaidō runs along National Route 20, but when you say Fuchū, you know… Sassha-san’s, you see. Ah, if I were like that, it would be normal to have a local area, wouldn’t it? No That probably goes through the zelkova avenue. I think it might be heading towards Okuda Shrine, but I’m not sure. Looking at the map, that seems about right, doesn’t it? Right, right, that’s right. Actually, during the Tokyo 2020 Games, we passed through the Tama Shrine area back there. We made it. That was a good shot, wasn’t it? Well, it really is the world, isn’t it? Yes, to convey Japan’s appeal Blitzen was in excellent form at the national championships, wasn’t he, Mr Tani? Yes I suppose you could say we’re on track today as well. And the Solution Tech players all seem to be enjoying themselves. It’s soft, isn’t it? It’s all a bit of a racket. Yes Well, is it about to start? Still, it’s the parade, so smiles can still be seen among the crowd. As you can see in the solution In addition to Harashiro, World Watch Palemair Smaller and then Salenko Well, last year it was six players from each team who were the main focus. There are places with only five players, yes. No, but the pace is picking up too. Whilst daily life continues on this left side where the road passes through. The idea of racing towards this road is something we’ve always been doing in the Tour de… We’ve been covering the Tour de France broadcasts for about a quarter of a century now, but I must say, that was a bit… It’s fair to say this is a scene that would have been unimaginable 24 years ago. Yes, as I mentioned earlier If Tokyo 2020 hadn’t happened, this Higashi-Hachi Road would have… I don’t think we could have managed to run a race with this kind of closure in place, even with the amendments. Well, It really comes down to know-how afterwards, doesn’t it? Well, this section here is a line section, so temporarily, for a short while… We could halt traffic, but it’s not quite that simple, you see. Well, considering the traffic volume, it’s quite symbolic that it started on a Sunday, after all. Well, this is something else. Come lunchtime, or rather, on weekdays it’s absolutely impossible here. Yes, so… well, I suppose I was thinking about that sort of thing too. We’re holding it while making all sorts of adjustments, you see. Honestly, organising a road race in Japan is is going to be an absolute nightmare in terms of effort and money, isn’t it? It really is a world apart from holding it in Europe, where road racing culture exists. Yes, indeed. Even if you do the same thing, in Japan, the preparation required is absolutely enormous. Yes, this is Endō. That area where you turn left from the Higashi-Hachi Road, yes. Right then, the flag’s been waved, so the actual start should be any moment now. Right, this is the spot. Turn left. But, you know, that police box in Tokyo on that day, right? The actual footage was, um, this was after crossing that bridge. That’s right. Well, if you’re going that far, it’s a bit further still. Right, how are you today? Ah, that’s right. I see. Yes. The group is now heading south. The athletes are still Well, but they’re so happy, aren’t they? Smiles just spill out. For the players too, you see. This is a place where we don’t often get the chance to run, you know. Yes, the black jerseys are Team Euro Cycling Trips from Guam. Two riders from Guam—well, it’s a US territory—and also from the UK. Canadian and French athletes, that sort of thing. Well, that’s the flag you don’t see very often, isn’t it? The flag of Guam. Well, it is in the United States. In terms of nationality, Proujers is quite impressive. Well, it’s an unknown quantity of a team, you see. I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform. This Brass athlete is 22 years old, isn’t he? No. 71 Right then, the female athlete has moved over. Ah, the front group has become five riders, hasn’t it? Well, yes. Abe Kaori’s tonight’s date meet tour leader, and so on, had caught up, hadn’t they?
Abe Kaori’s date meet tour leader tonight, and so on, had caught up. It’s a group that’s been heading south towards Nakamachi Station all along. At the front now, next to that Eurocycling rider, is that Loujean? Rouge is quite good, isn’t he? Yes, yes, later. The top three teams from that Asian tour will be invited. Now, that’s one of the invited teams, isn’t it? Therefore, it is exceptionally strong. Yes What about white then? Lee-chan, each team is lined up side by side. Yes, the team with the yellow sleeves is Solution Tech Castle’s team. The women are spread out. A large group is now joining as the third group. And over here, the green jersey Victoria Sports Pro Cycling Philippines team.
Victoria Sports Pro Cycle Philippines Team Yes I believe Geron Laye, a strong player, will become the ace. Last year’s Oita Urban Classic is a competitor who has won domestic entrance races, so now That race is pretty intense too, you know. Well, Japan is hot, isn’t it? Given that they have won the championship before, they should be a bit more competitive this season. It’s not quite as sharp as the real thing up to this point, but yes, well, it’s very capable. The intersection at Kotobuki-cho 1-chome, right? We’re getting quite close to the station now. Ah, this is that Keio Line passing point, isn’t it? Yes So this is the zelkova tree avenue. Passing over the Keio Line viaduct along the zelkova tree avenue, passing through Fuchū Station This is the open shrine from earlier. It was just around here, wasn’t it, Sasha and I? At that Legacy event, Mc, you know? There was a feature on it too, wasn’t there? We held a cycling event, didn’t we? The Foris in front of Fuchū Station is brilliant, isn’t it? And well, this is indeed the approach to Kunitama Shrine, isn’t it? There’s a torii gate just ahead here, isn’t there? It seems we turn right just before the torii gate. That’s right. Therefore, by turning right onto the old Kōshū Kaidō road This time, we won’t be going inside. Yes So, probably that’s fine. Then we turn left again towards Fuchu Honmachi, I suppose? This is where the torii gate is now, isn’t it? And this is the old Kōshū Kaidō road. Yes, that’s right. Turning left, you say? Nakamoto-chō The Bishon that was performed during the Grand Festival right here in front is now over there to the left rear, but that… yes The place where the mikoshi is stored, or rather, the place where it is delivered, needs to be tidied up. That place where it’s delivered, you see. Then turn left there and head south again towards Fuchu-Honmachi Station. Following this route, the right front side of the athlete is Fuchu-Honmachi, so proceeding along this path, the racecourse will be on the left. The relay has been established. Yes, and underneath that, yes, that’s right. Now, that head is the agreement, isn’t it? Right, and then this means we’ll be heading towards Masahashi. Right, the players have changed again and moved forward. Yes, that’s right. So this is a proper start, isn’t it? Yes It’s just going downhill, isn’t it? Yes The athlete has already appeared in front of the newspaper offices, even without the metal voice. They really shouldn’t have appeared in front of the newspaper offices, though. Yes, that’s right. It’s just a bit of a let-down, isn’t it? Matrix Man was visible too, wasn’t he? Yes, I’m 49, so 9 years younger. Well, as a registered competitor, I suppose you could say he’s the oldest now. It becomes clear he was a former Spanish champion. And it features the Spanish flag. Then France finished fourth overall, I believe. Right, right. The athlete. Still going strong, aren’t you? Yes I’m dead serious about this. How many years has it been? It’s become quite lengthy, hasn’t it? Yes, I reckon it’s been over five years now. This left side is Fuchu Honmachi, isn’t it? Crossing over now, taking it to the racecourse area. Right then, and as for the girls… Triangle, yes. Kaneko rider passes in 1st place with 5 points, Kobayashi rider passes in 3rd place with 3 points. Yukako Suzuki, behind them, passed in third place, gaining one point. Yukako Suzuki is a formidable competitor currently ranked third on the Jefferies Tour. Right then That’ll do We’ve just crossed over the train viaduct again, so the racecourse must be nearby. Ah, but the racecourse, well, on the screen, it’s visible in the far right background, isn’t it? Yes, the downhill section. Yes, standing by the river again, it’s already doing about 50 kilometres, isn’t it? That’s quite fast, isn’t it? The players are absolutely raring to go now, so yes. If you pass this to Masayoshi, there’s an ascent immediately afterwards. These two were former teammates, weren’t they? Towards Gaiger, the player on the left is from PC Fukuoka. Yes, he was originally with Matrix, wasn’t he? Yes He seemed to be chatting rather cheerfully. Ah, this and this are correct too, aren’t they? It’s the uphill section, isn’t it? Here, it’s about crossing Tamagawa. The real start time is in. And what about the final attack? You can hear the voices. This is the support from the roadside, isn’t it? Cheering, cheering, I suppose? Right then, here we go. At Tokyo 2020, this was an axial start, wasn’t it? That’s a puncture. This is even more of a two, though. He was a good player just now, though. I wonder if he’ll be alright. Still not kicking off properly, are we? I suppose so. Probably waiting for this player to return, aren’t they? Was it originally planned to start around this time? Zero, I see. Probably one from the judges. It’s already started, hasn’t it? Ah, this is where the actual start is. The pace suddenly picks up. That’s Takayama, isn’t it? Britzen and Bridgestone’s rider, isn’t he? The real race is about to begin from here. It was a parade of about 10 kilometres. Goodness, that’s quick. After this, we’ll cross Fuchu Kaido and immediately start the climb. Right, right. We’ve already passed the Chinese restaurant. From here it’s uphill, isn’t it? That’s right. Entering Inagi City and heading towards Tama City is driving the wrong way, isn’t it? Are you using the right-hand lane? Ah, yes, that’s right. Indeed. The third is Genki Yamamoto. Ah, that’s true. We discussed the possibility of a breakaway scenario, and now they’re closing in. Is this about not wanting to let them escape, plus wanting to escape himself? Yes, that’s right. And they sent over a player from Trenger, didn’t they? Yes, Mr Takeyama is clearly trying to break away here. He’s been quite aggressive in the All Japan Championships too. And Yamada Genki will be linking up well, so he’ll be taking plenty of attacks. Yes, that leg won’t be overused, it’ll be used well. You’re handling it well. Reacted to the island’s base The trainer is now attempting to move ahead alone. Whether this will form a human shape, and focus solely on the one-time reuse. We could see Mr Imamura’s figure too, couldn’t we? Yes No, that’s quick. Well, Traeger is trying to break away, isn’t he? It’s not a decisive gap yet, but the difference is subtly widening. Well, the group’s speed has remained elevated, you see. The breakaway won’t be successful unless the peloton’s pace drops off considerably. Right. What do you think? Well, going all the way to Ome on the circuit course is rather tough, isn’t it? Yes. Well, when it comes to those athletes aiming for the win, once a leading group of five or ten riders forms… they’ll start making moves to join that group, but No, in a situation where one person has broken away like that, It’s rather hesitant for the favourites to jump in here just yet, isn’t it? As the numbers increase, everyone’s starting to move. One person has already slipped away, hasn’t he? I wonder who this trainer’s player is. Well, the reactions from the back are coming thick and fast, aren’t they? So if this connects again, it’ll absorb. And there’s a possibility that something like an attack will continue for a while. Is this the Victoria player at the back? Ah, I see. The Matrix, then. Sorry, I wasn’t quite going backwards, was I? The Matrix. And One-Two-Nippo Furthermore, places like Shimaide Solution Tech possess it, and there’s another one. Is this different from Eurosite, or are there many players? Well, it’s probably Aisan Kogyo, I suppose. Well, I suppose this sort of volatile development will continue for a while yet. Once again, this causes the group to slow down a bit. I expect we’ll see a counterattack very soon indeed. Right then. Right then, here we go. Now then, let us proceed to introduce the four types that will pass through hereafter. The four designations you will see are these. First, Mr Inage Within the city centre of Inagi, there is the Inagi Cycle Café, which is working to develop the city as a bicycle-friendly town. Furthermore, to promote the bicycle-friendly town, the One-Kan Warrior Inagi Pedalion has also been born. Besides bicycles, pears are a local speciality, available from summer through autumn. Various varieties of pears are cultivated. The official image character of Inagi City, featuring that pear as its motif, is I’m Inagi Nashinosuke, who once ranked first in Tokyo at a past Yuru-Chara Grand Prix. Additionally, along the Misawa River flowing through the city… In spring, approximately 320 cherry trees along a 17-kilometre stretch reach full bloom. A seasonal autumn tradition is the Inagi City Festival. In addition to stage shows and food and drink stalls, you can try out various sports such as Mölkky. Do come and visit Inagi City, a town of flavours and encounters. Next up is Tama City. Tama City boasts an abundance of lush green parks and well-maintained walking paths. Its appeal lies in the excellent balance between urban and natural environments. Tama Central Park, which underwent a renewal in April, features the Parthenon Tama and Tama City Central Library, among other attractions. facilities symbolising the city. It has become a place of relaxation where many people gather from both within and outside the city. Along the course route lies Tama City Athletics Stadium, also used by professional football teams. A heated pool facility featuring slides and a lazy river. Sports facilities such as Aqua Blue Ball are also well-equipped.
Aqua Blue Ball and other sports facilities are also well-equipped.

Tama City: A town where living and relaxation harmonise Please come and experience its charm for yourself. Next is Mr Machida. The professional football team FC Machida Zelvia, based in Machida City. Remarkably, the only one in Japan participating from Tokyo’s fourth division and prefectural leagues, the lowest tier of Japanese football. Teams that have been promoted to the top-tier J1 League This season, they are also scheduled to participate in the FC Champions League Elite, with players Shoji and Soma Yamaoka and numerous other players of international standard are registered with the club. Additionally, Aves Pescadora Machida, which competes in the Futsal League’s Elite Division, has its home town here in Machida City. Ito, Nomura A team whose appeal lies in its attacking style centred around Morioka, achieving the club’s first-ever league championship. Do come and watch other sports besides cycling in Machida City. Finally, Hachiōji City. Hachioji City, a town developed through the silk industry It holds the distinction of being the only place in the nation historically known as ‘Soto’, written as ‘桑の都’ (the mulberry capital). The origin of this name lies in the fact that mulberry leaves were once required as fodder for silkworms, which produce the cocoons used to make silk. …to the widespread presence of mulberry fields. The Sort tale depicting the historical connection between the people outside and Mount Takao is the only one in Tokyo Metropolis. designated as a Japan Heritage site. Mount Takao is a Michelin three-star tourist destination, displaying its seasonal charms throughout the year. Furthermore, Odawara City is also renowned for historical sites such as the ruins of Hachioji Castle and Takiyama Castle, both associated with the Hojo clan. Other attractions include Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo (puppet theatre) and Hachioji geigi (geisha). Traditional culture such as the Hachioji Festival continues to be passed down to this day. Do come and experience the charm of Hachioji for yourself. A bustling town, lush green nature, vibrant energy, and sports brimming with passion. And a profound history In this place where it all comes together, new discoveries and excitement are sure to await you. Right then, Mr Kuriyama, how is the race progressing? Well, at the moment, we’re asking for your patience as we’re running out of time. As you can see, attacks are occurring sporadically. There’s a slight gap in that continuous sequence, though. The group is still connecting and connecting, so it’s not yet in a settled state, is it? Are two people prostrating themselves? Yes. Earlier, before the fare was entered, they used the uphill section to form a long, vertical line. Now, Tokyo 2020 is looking at housing in much greater detail. or something like that. Yes, quite a lot around here, moving about to the right and such. and left, but This time, I really didn’t want to go into those densely populated residential areas, you see. We’re heading west now, aren’t we? That’s the area around Minami-Osawa where the team presentation was held yesterday. Ah, yes, that’s right. Yes, the escape hasn’t been finalised. It’s proving rather difficult to finalise, isn’t it? The two of them have pulled away slightly. Ah, but around here, you see, that day… Regardless of whether it’s a holiday, many cyclists are out riding precisely at this time. Well, those of you watching this broadcast today, well… The place I always run, well, yes, it’s actually the Tokyo 2020 course, you see. What on earth are you doing, racing? Is it deeply moving? I used to run there during my active days, and I still do occasionally these days. Are you pleased? I’m always watching from the car on the road too, if there’s a chance. Ah, yes, that’s right. It’s become one again. I suppose so. The escape just won’t work out It feels like we might just keep going like this, unable to make a break for it, all the way to Ōme. No momentum Means publicity. Ah, the front players are trying to make a three-man bridge again, aren’t they? Well, that makes eight in the group, doesn’t it? The group has settled down a bit for now, but this really is Yamamoto-san, isn’t it? But with this many people, we really must make the most of it. Teams will emerge to undermine each other, so it’s unlikely to be settled anytime soon. Frankly, I’d rather not let this many people go. Right then, it’s a two-class race, so we can’t use radios either. The competitors will have to judge by sight, you see. Whether the teammate made it in or not It would be good to know whether a dangerous player has entered or not. Even if I tried to stop it, that’s how it would be, isn’t it It’s stopped, hasn’t it? Looks like they’re definitely going to get away. Even if some players are already reluctant, they’re trying to break away now. The price fluctuates slightly here, so it might come as a bit of a shock. After that, well, it’s clear. Here, Yamamoto is also in the Jai, and this is Betrus, isn’t it? Well, Solution Tech is in there too, so I reckon it’s a rather dangerous breakaway. Who on earth is One-Tee? Anty might be Kōjima-san, the athlete. Only 19 years old, isn’t she? Last year, there were also symptoms of U23, you see. There’s also the awards ceremony, you see. The group just stopped, didn’t they? Ah, that’s right. Yes. Absolutely perfect timing, then. So you’re sending about ten people to go once, right? This house Victoria seems to have joined the breakaway group. Quite a formidable line-up, you see. I suppose so. It fluctuates quite a bit. Yes, that’s right. Each team has managed to get one person in, haven’t they? But at first glance, the one missing is Bridgestone. Team, well, it might still be good now. Actually, the news has two people on it, right? Two Rougers, then. Free stand, one person going now, right? Yes Well, the fact that the J-C Team Association isn’t involved, ah, yes, that’s right. There are two players of Jessie Team calibre behind, though. Yes, Shimashii is more of an assist-type player, you see. He really ought to be closing down here, and there’s no red top coming in from behind to twist things up. Ideally, the training team should be tackling this. is not viewing this as a decisive moment? Well, timing-wise, the All Japan Championships have just finished, haven’t they? Some wrestlers take a bit of a break, so ah, I see. It might be a matter of fluctuations in their condition. Koiseki is the ultimate tail technique, so this is rather unusual. So, it’s the part where you’d expect to be in front and in control, isn’t it? This is a place we absolutely must enter. The Bridgestone rider looks set to catch up. Oh, Blitzen isn’t in there either, is he? That’s right. So this one doesn’t really get decided Victory Hiroshima, who didn’t make it into the top teams, had one player in there too, didn’t they? Yes. Is this the second ascent for the women? Still the same two in front, I suppose? Kaneko is like that And for Kobayashi, this is his second participation point, so this will be the final difference. I reckon the women will be going all out here. After climbing this main ascent on the circuit course once more There’s a slight climb just before the finish line too. Are these two women next to the front runner? There’s a bit of a gap between Abe Kaori and the great Wakka player. And the leading men’s group at the front, but… The target is in place, isn’t it? Victoria Sports, ah
Victoria Sports That’s right, number 41 That’s impressive, Jerome. Orix is Hashimoto, isn’t it? Tren is number 14, isn’t he? Mohammad Doulahimandsi, third = 135 In Toyama, yes. 18-year-old Hayato Tohara. Long. And then there’s Shimazaki, isn’t there? Indeed, one Solution Tech is Barbarmail, isn’t it? Everyone’s strong this time, you see. However, as I mentioned earlier, Jesseel, Utsunomiya Blitz, and the two teams in red kits haven’t entered yet, so yes. This is particularly true for the Blitzen, you see. I reckon they’ll come to crush us. This is truly ace-level, as each team has included ace-class players, so it’s good. Well, that’s a bit of a problem, isn’t it? I’d like to see the gap between the age groups. Yes, that’s right. Ah, Carter Petrusluga. It seems to be spreading quite a bit. This is where, well, there’s no qualifying, so the drivers have to make their own personal judgements, I suppose. Konno, Tomita Kazuki player, yes That’s where he got caught out, isn’t it? Yes From here on, we’ll be moving away from this place, won’t we? This will allow us to break away, won’t it? Heading towards Minami-Ōsawa Station, I see The camera boat has now positioned itself behind the leading group. Did the editing team open up a gap a little? That might be the case. Green Off Kama down, right? Today, you see There’s the first split point at Minami-Ōsawa Station, you see. The sprint points for this race are cumulative, after all. Minami-Ōsawa and, um, there are two instances when passing the finish line area once. The top rider at each sprint point will be awarded. It’s a one-off. Yes The pace is getting quite high, isn’t it? It’s going down, isn’t it? The price is right on the ridge, you see. Yes, and it’s off-pitch, isn’t it? That’s right. Yes, as you can see, the Sprint Show is awarded to the rider who crosses the line first at each point. The first one is called Minami-Ōsawa. It looks like it’s doing about 6710 kilometres. Yes Yamamoto Genki takes the lead The evacuation team group is still near the front The red uniforms are starting to stand out a bit here and there. Yes Blitzen or Jessie Team players are huddled together there, aren’t they? Yes, it could well be those two teams. The teams might be pursuing them jointly. Well, it’s rather surprising, isn’t it? That team, which could be called a candidate for admission, didn’t put a single person on this list, you see. Incidentally, the JCL Team Association participated with one fewer member, making it five in total. That’s right, isn’t it? I see. So, well, at the very back, you see, when the escape was decided, I longed for it. Shinbashi was at the rear of the group, so yes, well… There’s a possibility he’s in a bit of a dip in his condition, though. I see. Well, even so… There are many strong contenders, you see. Well, we’ll see again towards the end. There’s a possibility they’ll get involved with Kyushu Hanshin. But this one has a lot of people, and the members are good too, you see. This really is a case of the group stopping, you see. Well, it’s what you might call standing and running away. The winner will emerge from this group. Such a development is quite plausible, isn’t it? Well, the group is moving now, so yes, the guide has started circling. Until just now, it was mostly stationary and waiting. Let us take a look at the leading members. Alexandre Parmen-Maremal, I see. Eh, Mahament Nouraïd, and then Pataal Torus. Nikolaus Keldrakos and Shimazaki Zeromayer, this is Bitl, isn’t it?
Zero Mayer, this is Bitl, isn’t it? Yamamoto, Genki, Nagai, Tomihara, Hashimoto.
Yamamoto, Genki, Nagai, Tomihara, Hashimoto. Tumaru, right? This world, and Fumio Umezawa. 12 people. Well, yes, I suppose so.
12 people. Well, I suppose so. Looking at it again, well, the players considered top-tier… well, but 23 players, I suppose? Yeah. Other teams tend to have more young players in supporting roles, I suppose. Right then, the sprint point is drawing near. Minami-Ōsawa Well, it’s turning nicely. Right, I’ll go for the attack. Right, it’s Carterbet, but it’s gone smoothly so far. This sprint point triggered a bit of a mess, you see. Yes. Is it like getting caught by the recoil or something? What do you think? Almost there. Right. You can see the overpass over there, so it should be soon. Yesterday’s team presentation thing… the outlet on the right side, yes. Right. And off we go again in metres, eh? Ah, no one mentions it, but conveniently, my teammate the Dragons I see There it is, coming into view Sprint point, carpet again Bedros leads, Yamamoto Genki in pursuit, but there’s still quite a bit left, you see. Right then, what do you think? This area is the sprint point line, but it’s still building up. First sprint point secured Well, I was struggling in the battle for second place, you see. Everyone seems to be a bit confused about the Speed Point rules, don’t they? That’s the gist of it. Right, so this is the group? Yes VC Fukuoka hasn’t mentioned it either, so I’m holding back. This is about Elemas player splitting Spain, but Yes The bloke in the red gear can’t ride it, can he? DCL Blitzenbus, that sort of thing, yes. Sprint is the second one passed Suma is out, isn’t he? Bessemガルシア選手 is… ah, he’s from the Tokyo area, isn’t he? But supplies seem to be running low in the other tanks. Well I did speak with Mr Redesma and Tour Japan, as I believe they were also present. Well, actually, I did retire from the Tour de Japan over here, you see. One more time, yes. Sprint points. Yes It was worth the effort to make a clean getaway, I suppose. Metros is the one who’s going to take the prize, isn’t he? Carter Metros has taken it. The 26-year-old Australian player, Ruzha, and what that Redesma player said was Well, he’s a proper Spanish player, you see. Yes, he joined a Japanese team and raced in the Asian Tour. Well, But even so, there’s still the possibility of becoming a professional player in the real game. Not that joining a Japanese team itself he said it wasn’t that he’d abandoned his dream. Japan, well, the rigours of Japanese racing are what they are, I suppose. Yes That Allis Ural who belonged to the Matrix, ah yes, that’s right I’m currently racing for Movistar, you see. I Well, he won the annual championship on that Japanese J-Pro Tour He raced in these kinds of Japanese competitions, you see. From there, he transferred to a Spanish second division team, yes And now he’s with Movistar in the top division. We’re in contention for the French league title, so yes. Well One such example is… Actually, this is rather interesting, but the Compass Spain player, well… …went out of their way to come to that Japanese team, I thought it was interesting that they were trying to reset things once more. Well, conversely speaking Japanese players do have a chance, don’t they? That’s exactly right, Masu. Precisely so. So, there is the fact that you won’t get stronger unless you go to Europe. Actually, via Japanese races, now All-Star, so I’m running in the All-Star. Yes Well, of course. Being Spanish originally, that’s where, you know… Well, in the sense of returning to my local area, it is advantageous, yes. But that’s why, if the next player was swinging, yes, yes. No, you see, if you have the strength. Time Aura Aural is Venezuelan, Yes, Venezuela. Well, it’s not Spanish, though. Venezuelan players head to Europe via Japan, don’t they? The front two riders broke away from the pack, leaving just the two of them ahead for a while. About three riders, I suppose? Shimano is making a bit of a spectacle of himself. Solution Tech’s Balmer and Wanty’s Shimazaki remain in the breakaway. Well, Shimazaki is a young player too, only 19 years old. He’s steadily building his strength while racing for a European team. Even when watching races in Belgium, This kind of high-speed action, the body must be accustomed to it, right? This section is completely blocked off, halting traffic in both directions at present. That’s right. After passing Minami-Ōsawa, it feels like we’re heading back towards the Tama River from here, doesn’t it? At the university, we change course northwards, ah yes, that’s right. Right, right. I expect you know Hachioji City too. This time, we’ve crossed the border heading towards Hino. It’s a flash, isn’t it? Well, it’s sort of a roundabout way of getting there. Heading north from Hachiōji to Hino, that sort of thing, eh? So, well, it starts to deviate from the Tokyo 2020 course, doesn’t it? Oh, I’ve been caught, haven’t I? One more time, this time we’ll pick up the pace. Aisan Kogyo, perhaps? The developments are unfolding quite actively now, aren’t they? Yes After all, this is where the course begins for the first time. It’s rather difficult to allow any escape, so to speak. Even listening to the interviews with each player before the start… Well, I suppose it’s a bit of a mystery how things will turn out. There were some nuanced remarks too, weren’t there? Well, given all that, perhaps the group just can’t settle down after all. Well, once the race gets going on the course, it’s generally about how many riders are in the leading group and what the time gap is. I can see that on a circuit course, they can be caught, yes. I suppose this is uncharted territory, isn’t it? Especially the difficulty of the final lap course, you see. Rotating is rather interesting after all; when I actually tried driving it, it was surprisingly easy. Surprisingly, the group didn’t break up. Right then, the women’s finish is upon us. That’s Kobayashi, isn’t it? In front of the player, isn’t it? In front of Kanemoto-san. And now the victorious Japanese champion is this race. The winner of the Tokyo Tama 2025 Women’s Road Race is Hayashi. Kobayashi Kaori is a member of an overseas team, you see. Well, she’s racing in the real deal over there, so her ability has definitely gone up a couple of notches, hasn’t it? Well, he managed to win that dead heat with Kaneko, didn’t he? You stuck to Kaneko’s attack right to the end, didn’t you? It feels like his sprinting power has improved too. Yes, he was originally a mountain bike racer. Yes, and his mother too. His mother is also an Olympian in mountain biking, you see. Right then, the screen returns to the men’s race. Once again, they try to pick up the pace and create a breakaway, but still… that house has not been born Blitzen, who was a bit slow off the mark earlier, is now up with the three fighters in the group. Right And Solution Tech really is something else, isn’t it? Indeed, that one superior entity The Second Division championship was won by a professional team, so there was also an interview with Kojima-san. Right. Since most people don’t know much about that Japanese player Honestly, who’s to say this breakaway is actually a strong rider’s breakaway? It might be the breakaway of those support riders. Yes, it’s impossible to judge in an instant. They are, aren’t they? Yes, the team. Well, the players who appeared in Tour Japan might have some idea, I suppose. But let’s just put that aside for now. We’re doing the work of ensuring at least one person is always on board. There’s a constant rotation of attacks. Something about Solution Tech’s gear allowed Shimano to set the pace.
Some sort of Solution Tech wear Yes Is this Mr Amano? And upon checking, that sticker player is alone, and the player can be seen too. After that, Lu Jai I hear that player is 78th from the previous one. Indeed. The 10th position is occupied by Japanese Supercross Champion Hiroto Oda. It was Atrix, wasn’t it? Ah, once things had settled down again, it was Ishino’s attack. That’s Amano, isn’t it? This one again, and this year it’s here. And Wanky is Imamura Furthermore, Shima’s that one, is it Mr Kayama? And the molecular suit, ah yes, that’s right. Yes Another one has slipped away A counterattack, I suppose. It’s a rather impressive aerodynamic form, though. Is he holding the lever properly? Is it alright or not? Less than a hundred kilometres to go. The handling rules for the match from last year are not in place. Quite a few Japanese players are on the smaller side, you see. I think many players are affected. Yes, it’s becoming even stricter, isn’t it? Is this what it all comes down to? Are you alright? If it’s not on, it’ll be a breach of the rules, so yes. You’re not holding that one, are you? Even if I grip the steering wheel, it’s still a problem. I see. Right. When you place your wrist, it makes a ‘apipau’ sound. Right then. Right then, let’s take a look at the finish throw for the women’s event. The winner is Kaori Kobayashi, with Yumi Kaneko taking second place. She had plenty of time to spare at the end. The sprint then becomes a battle for third place, but winning this sprint means we’re in. That’s Haruka Watanabe, isn’t it? He came third in the Ribresing Japan. Fourth place went to rider Kaori Abe Currently leading the Jeffrey Tour as he is a player, you see. Is it Bridgestone this time? Yes, it’s a bit on the large side. That’s why, you see. Well, Bridgestone is a track and field athlete, after all. Among Bridgestone’s current members, the labour representative is Yamamoto. Well, everyone, that Okamoto from Par too, you know. He’ll be riding solidly in those flat road races, you see. Yes And at the rear of the group, as ever, is Ishibashi. Yamamoto Genki has dropped back too. Ah, yes. He moved up to the front. to the back Right then, let’s see… Now then, shall we introduce the limbs that will be passing through here shortly? The four types you will see again are these. First, Hino City Located in the centre of Tokyo The birthplace of Hijikata Toshizō, Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi, and Inoue Genzaburō, Captain of the 6th Unit, among others. Hino City, the former Shinsengumi headquarters. Sato History Museum and Hino-juku Honjin It is known as a place associated with the Shinsengumi. Please do visit the city’s largest event, the Industry Festival.
The city’s largest event, the Industrial Festival Next up is Akishima City. Akiishima City’s multi-purpose complex, affectionately known as Akiishima Ensis Here, a replica of a rare fossil is on display.
Here, a replica of a rare fossil is on display. Does anyone know? This is a photograph taken during excavation work in 1961. The answer is a whale fossil dating back 2 million years. It was later named the Aximac whale. The Akishima Citizens’ Whale Festival, held in honour of that whale, is organised by the citizens of Akishima City. It has been held since 1973 and is a festival with a long history. Apart from whales, the Mount Fuji at Haijima Park in Haijima is said to be over 800 years old. It is designated as a Natural Monument of Tokyo Metropolis. Please do visit Akishima City, a town illuminated by drums and the future. Next is Fussa City. To the east of Fussa City lies the US Yokota Air Base. American-style buildings line National Route 16. Alongside the Tama River flowing to the west, a row of cherry trees continues. Spring is a popular season for cherry blossom viewing. Along the Tama River there are two sake breweries steeped in tradition and history. Tamura Sake Brewery takes pride in its sake, meticulously crafted with great care and attention to detail. Furthermore, Ishikawa Shuzo takes pride in its sake and craft beer, made with meticulously selected ingredients. Each brewery also offers guided tours where you can sample and compare their different brews. And the Tanabata Festival, where colourful Tanabata decorations cover the area around Fussa Station. This year marks the 75th festival, held over three days from the 8th to the 10th of August. Why not experience the vibrant festival atmosphere this summer? Last stop is Hamura City. Edo period The starting point of the Tamagawa Josui canal, dug to bring water from the Tama River to Edo, is the Hamura intake weir. ha A bronze statue of the Tamagawa brothers, who devoted their efforts to the completion of the Tamagawa Aqueduct, has been erected. Near that intake structure, the Hamura Tulip Festival is held every spring. Approximately 60 varieties and 350,000 tulips bloom across Kanto’s largest area It is bustling with many people.
It’s bustling with people. As a place of relaxation for citizens, Hamura City Zoo also attracts many visitors. Renovated in 2018 to mark its 40th anniversary. 65 species of animals are kept here. In Hamura City, history, nature, and people’s lives are in harmony. This area, where the living history of life thrives from ancient times to the present day. Step inside and you might just make a new discovery How about it for your weekend outing? Right then, 94 kilometres to go. Mr Kuriyama, yes, those two have pulled away again. That’s right. Just now, on that uphill section, Shūzen was quite far ahead in the race. Well, he’s now heading downhill from there, but Takayama is doing well again, isn’t he? He’s in the lead, isn’t he? It’s just that the attacking battle continues as usual, but it’s not being decided, you see. I suppose so. Well, this is footage from the rear of the group. Now at the front. You can see two more have broken away again. Yes, that’s right. Ayat Shultz, Vecto’Wale, I suppose? Well, he’s certainly been joining in with the fouls this season, hasn’t he? He’s a player who’s also achieved victories on the Pro Tour, isn’t he? Yes, he’s an exceptionally strong player. Well, it’s impossible, isn’t it, Mr Takeyama? It came out a bit, didn’t it? I suppose so. Today’s the day, isn’t it? Ah, not the Tama River then, but this is the Asa River, isn’t it? Passing through the area, right? Yes Right now, yes Yes, that’s right. Well, it does come after all. The rear is connected in a line. Yes, Takeyama and Schultz—those two are currently in the process of escaping. They’re doing about 60 kilometres per hour. Yes Right then, we’ve got 92 kilometres left, but it’s all downhill from here, so The remaining kilometres are decreasing. More customers are gathering along the roadside again, aren’t they? Yes, they seem to be catching up from behind. Right, from here on there aren’t really any more significant climbs, so… Up to the Ome circuit course, well, it gradually gains altitude, but For those who knew, well… On an uphill slope, you can’t really feel that sensation. It’s gradually ascending, yes. So, well, from here on it’s the flat urban area of Motomachi. Right, today’s Hino City, but crossing the Tama River into Akishima and the roadblock. And Hamura, that area you mentioned earlier, yes. And now there are four of us, yes. Right, the pace picks up again, doesn’t it? Right, that’s the thing. What do you think? Is it Nagai? And Ms. Ai is Ohara, the athlete? Well, it does connect. Indeed, Solution Tech is now absolutely essential. We’re bringing one person in now, aren’t we? The number of people is increasing, isn’t it? Since we can’t tell which escape route is dodgy anymore, we’ll just head in for now, you see. You should be able to do it because you’ve got legs, right? This had brought us considerably closer. A dozen or so people, I suppose. Combat, eh? The path narrows considerably here. This doesn’t really spread out sideways, so it stretches vertically. The group will now continue along the right side, with the river to the athletes’ right. They’re inhaling while keeping the river on their right. A little further on, it turns left and heads north. The group seems to be splitting up a bit, you know? The group behind has started to pull away somewhat, but… ah, it’s split a bit. They’ve split up. They’re trying to regroup, aren’t they? Yeah, that’s right again. In the end, Blitzen and Mr Oka also joined. Well, this Blitzen, you see, we were on the back foot earlier, but Conversely, this has now turned completely against those who wanted to run away with the win. Euro Cycling Trips’ Schugolz at Pinson River Winter
Euro Cycling Trips’ Schugolz at Pinson River in winter This one was just 90 kilometres. The river’s come into view again, hasn’t it? Yes, that’s right. From the Tama River here, the course turns left. So we’re heading north now. That’s right. Please send Nagasaka from Asakawa. For a while now, we’ll be heading north towards the Tama River. Without crossing the Tama River, we’ll be turning left again. Yes, that’s right. We’ll run parallel to the Tama River and its south bank for a bit. This is the route towards Nisshin, isn’t it? Crossing this bridge once more, that is. After a while, yes. After that, we’ll be travelling along the north side of the Tama River the whole way. Akishima, yes. No, this seems like it could easily get out of hand with a large crowd. Well, they did run off, but the rear seems to be a bit scattered, doesn’t it? Well, there are quite a lot of us, you see. If they just carry on like this all the way to Ōme, the gap will widen, you see. It’ll be harder for those behind to keep up too. A large group of about 16 people throwing? Amano, the island’s representative, yes. Nagai, Logist, Nippon-Urawa, Ma, yes, 1110203044, yes And what a splendid entry that was. So 56 people, 17 people, right?
17 people, then. That’s quite a large number. This is that Tamamo rail, isn’t it? This is a bit of a large group crisis, isn’t it? Jesse still hasn’t been put at the front. As she’s waiting at the very back for a moment, she hasn’t really moved up much. That sort of thing. And VC Fukuoka’s Abe player, you see, he’s got nothing but raw talent and freedom, right? Naka-Kaido Kawasaki Meeting During the meeting, a bit further on, the leading group has quite a few riders, so gaps like this tend to open up. Right, the front is fast. I suppose so. So The gap to the rear is likely to widen considerably if the car behind stops. Quite possibly one of the decisive moments in today’s race. He’s pushing hard. Both Subarari and Shushon Tech have put in the smash, so yes. Palmer, who was in the leading group earlier, has rejoined it once more. Yes, that’s right. Balmer and Subarari, the two of them, eh? As it begins to spin beautifully, today’s bread education. Yudai-san is having a bit of a psycho-bi experience. Hashimoto is a bit of a wimp, isn’t he? He might be going to get supplies. Is Matrix also increasing the number of players? As Hijiri is still in the mix, Matrix too It’s just that the lead change isn’t quite syncing up, you see. It’s been like that for a while now, hasn’t it? It’s not quite clicking into place. And Cabritzen is the favourite to win. Rocks has really put in the effort, hasn’t he? Yes Hector too, you know Sonzaki is also… well, he’s an Esca, you see. If it was today’s climb, wouldn’t it be possible? Ozaki-san also made it right to the final stages of the All-Japan Championships, so… yes. Having managed to get through Shuzenji, yes. The four groups haven’t stopped, though. The pursuers are trickling out, but this is good. If you give up, well, today’s race development is a bit… It seems to be very, very big. Yes, it looked like it came from the Men group, even to Wanky’s Imamura-san. What do you think? Well, I’ve managed to get one person in, at least. Conti’s called the team car and is speaking with the manager. Whilst receiving the central bottle, is this about what happens next? Well, that’s John Tech splendid, including two people, so for now Enjoyable, or rather, this sort of thing—aren’t those people from Conti? It’s World Its. Right then. Fruit. Right then, first up. We’ll be turning right shortly, crossing the bridge here. Right, Tama Ohashi Bridge. Right, we’ll be heading north of the Tama River. So we’re turning back again, then. The north side of the Tama River is splendid. He’s even won stage victories in the welterweight division. Well, I was in Alpe d’Huez for a while, wasn’t I? Grand Tour winner Stage winner
Grand Tour winner Stage winner I see Number 126 is on screen.
126 is on screen Nagai, Victoire Hiroshima. This is Banameil, Switzerland. It’s finally starting to turn nicely, isn’t it? It’s spinning so beautifully, and I think I was quite fast myself, wasn’t I? Now it turns right. This takes you over the Takawa Bridge. None The number has decreased to fourteen people. These fourteen people are running things smoothly, you see. I must say, group work is rather demanding. At the very back is number 95, Takeyama. And in front of him is player Oka. Takeshima has been moving well right from the start, though. Ah, the pack’s stretched out vertically. Well, they’re close though. Yes, he was desperately trying to stay with them, wasn’t he? Where’s the chase happening? They’re close, aren’t they? It’s about the difference between the front and back of this bridge’s arch. It’s not that significant a difference, is it? If you look back at the front camera, it seems like it’s already there. Yes Now we turn left. Then, heading towards Ōme, well, we’ll be proceeding in a north-westerly direction. Yes Ah, well, it’s finally here, isn’t it? The group too, yes, that’s right. Well, even this player knows it’d be a bit much to pull off that escape, you see. I reckon everyone shares that view. It turned out to be 83 kilometres. Ah, it seems we’re almost catching up. If we can close the gap this much So Luja is selling it, is he? So they don’t put rosemary in there? Ah, that’s right. The person from earlier was included, but this time they’re not, right? If only Rujer had been here, it might have been settled. This area passes through a residential neighbourhood. Ah, they’re having a chat, aren’t they? Can’t decide, is that it? It’s about starting afresh, isn’t it? Yes. Apparently, this doesn’t quite mean Kyushu. The question is whether any players will break away from Kyushu here. The Ome circuit is gradually coming into view. Right. From here on, it’s really quite flat, you see. As I mentioned earlier, we’ll gradually gain altitude. The players who know it probably don’t really feel it much. Yes, it’s just that the altitude gradually increases, isn’t it? Yes Well, rather than deciding by sheer ability, it’s more about timing your breakaway from the pack, you see. That sort of film. Oda-san was urging us on, saying ‘Let’s keep going!’ Well, cyclo-cross, already champion He’s become quite formidable on the road, though. Yes At this point, it’s a bit of a longer circuit Well, the climb is still quite tough, so I’ll switch my head into lap mode. Some riders will want to rest their legs, I see. Well, in a sense, deciding to break away is an opportunity, isn’t it? Right now, when such a powerful and swift breakaway is caught, the space becomes a factor, you see. It eases off, so this is the attack point. And just before entering the harvest course, the second sprint point of the month awaits. Well, Yamamoto Genki must have realised by this point, right? Is this what you mean by ‘step forward and back’? You know, it just sort of crept up a bit, didn’t it? It’s gone up again. It’s Auntie. From Imamura. Ah. After all, as that escape specialist, the timing when the breakaway is decided, the moment the peloton eases off…
is when the breakaway is decided. You know that, don’t you? Has the rear end become a bit easier to handle? That’s right. The person in front is really stepping on it. Imamura’s speed increased dramatically just after that, and on the circuit In short, timing-wise, it was just as the climb was approaching. It’s still a time when everyone’s mindset becomes a bit passive, isn’t it? Yes 80 kilometres remaining This time Shimano is setting the pace Right now, it’s just around Mount Fuji from the island, isn’t it? Yes Well, up to this point, there haven’t been any particularly steep climbs, have there? It was a course where flat-course specialists could really utilise their speed to dictate the pace. Once we entered the Ome circuit, it wasn’t quite a mountain course, mind you. There are some rather steep climbs ahead. The group of riders at the front may well change completely. I see. Yes. I was playing for Bridgestone just now, but Bridgestone is still half track and field athletes, and race competitors, yes. Of course, everyone can run on the road, but Right, right, that’s right. I slipped away alone I’ll pursue Shimano from behind. Yes, that’s right, Wanti. Ribeiro Imamura Paris This Japanese player makes it quite a spectacle, doesn’t it? Imaibutsu is, in a sense, a player with an instinct for evasion, isn’t he? The fact that he appears here Perhaps it feels like the precise moment it’s decided. It’s been a case of escape and recapture, over and over. It’s broken. It’s over, isn’t it? The group has stopped, hasn’t it? Another combat group of just over ten is forming. Ah, it’s stopped, hasn’t it? Well, as expected, after the lap, the player from Arashi has entered. Is the player we were talking about in? Ah, that’s right. Fourth place, is it Sawada? Blitz Fourth place on a four-point bike Inoue is carefully pulling back while keeping a close eye on the rear, ensuring he doesn’t break away. Right And then the Dive Colour cost stopped This has been decided, hasn’t it? It’s settled. You’ve accepted it, haven’t you? Ah, the group is shifting slightly and spreading out. At last, but this too is powerful. They’re fleeing, and there are many of them, so… But now we’ve just entered the looping course mode, haven’t we? Ah, I see. Yes, a large group. Nomura, Higashino, and now Mr. Kayama? Yes And then, well, it is Kawano of Green, you see. Well, he also appeared in that Tour de France commentary, didn’t he? First, second stage, chatterbox Chat away if you like, but we’re passing through this residential area. Once, you see. Come down here on the left, deliberately adding this accent like this. Right. So it turns right again, does it? Turn right, right, right. Yes, yes. Right, the Tama River is just beyond this area. Passing by that housing estate now, I suppose? Yes, veteran player Mukawa, aged 44, has also joined us now. Ah, brilliant! Torn apart! Surpasses the train advert.
The torn-off train ad And then, after a while, off we go again Turn right and head back to the street we were on earlier, I suppose. Right then, so that’s how it was. Well, after this we enter the Ome circuit course, eh? Here’s the circuit course, eh? It appears we’re connecting with announcer Tomomi Kudo. My apologies earlier. Ms Kudo, yes. I am currently… at the Kei cheering point on the Ome circuit course. As you can see here, the steep incline continues. Just to catch a glimpse of the athletes climbing this steep slope. As you can see, many people have gathered along the roadside. And you see, I thought it would be easier to understand the wind direction if I… You often see this sort of thing on motorways, for instance. I’ve brought along a windsock. Yes, this is something that flaps like this depending on the wind direction and wind strength. According to the wind sock currently at hand, yes, it is calm. Therefore, the athletes will not be affected by the wind. reach this mountainous location. That is my understanding. Now then, and you see, among the roadside spectators, one stands out particularly. There is someone wearing the King of the Mountains jersey. It suits him well, doesn’t it? Thank you. You’re dressed perfectly for the mountainous terrain, aren’t you? Today, you know, even these chairs and everything were brought up on the bicycle. Right, right. Everyone, let’s watch the players. How about it? Seeing him in that KM mountain jersey was, after all, just a dream of mine. I’m delighted that it actually came to pass. What kind of performance would you like to see from the players? After all, how much momentum can they muster climbing that hill I usually struggle up? I’d quite like to see that. The climb up to this point was quite a struggle. Yes, it’s tough going. Yes, I’m looking forward to seeing how the athletes climb up. Thank you very much. There are also others who have managed to get up here by bicycle. There really are a great many people here. And then, for this Keio University too, points are earned in the order they were added, in the order they were passed through. 1st place: 5 points And second place gets three points, third place gets one point, and so on. In this tournament, the total points accumulated over four rounds will determine the outcome, so… The rider with the highest total points will be awarded the Top Prize and the King of the Mountains award. Right then, and over here we have a passionate cheering squad. Den, I’m just wondering, whose fan are you? Kō Araki. What do you like about Kōsuke Shiro? Strong What aspect of Sui Kōya’s play would you like to see? Well, it’s that… the sheer force of it. That powerful, powerful way he runs. Well, it’s uphill now, so you might just catch a glimpse of it. And I’ve brought the bottle that player from that castle gave me too. This time, I’m hoping he’ll sign it for me. They are being cheered on by both parent and child. Thank you very much Such a large number of supporters are here too. A fierce battle unfolded in the latter stages, with this being the Keio m point. Now, it will be interesting to see which athlete crosses this line most frequently. Yes, Mr Kudo, thank you for the detailed report. Yes, what are those banners like? I hear it’s become a bit of a tourist attraction. Oh, I see. Excuse me, I tried climbing up in the press car, but… That incredibly steep slope, the way it ran… When I actually tried interviewing them With the Garmin or that cycle computer I have to hand, I hear there were sections where it exceeded 15%. Yes, the press car we were in was revving its engine like this: vroom. The competitors will tackle such a steep incline. Yes, thank you. Report. Yes, yes, yes. No, that’s Shiro player, next. He’s in the leading group now, so the cheers from earlier must have reached him. I believe it will bring joy to the master. Yes Tomochan-san is that one Earlier, when we started, the thing he was carrying on his back was the number thing. Oh, so that was it. I thought, ‘Oh, he’s carrying a rucksack,’ but it was that. I suppose so. Moreover, that region is pursuing it. In a place where the wind doesn’t blow through, well, even if you hold it, it won’t blow, will it? I was wondering whether to push it a bit further, but I’d absolutely done it already. Well, it’s in the mountains for three million tonnes, you see. Well, it felt like it would be dead calm, didn’t it? Yeah, apparently it’s quite steep, with a gradient of 15%. Quite a bit, probably on the inside of that corner, I think. Yes, well… It really is tough, you see. And ah, we’re now entering the area around Imada Village, aren’t we? Right now, the leading group’s breakaway is completely confirmed, and the main group is provisionally VC Fukuoka, I suppose. Yokozuka is starting to pull away, so Fukuoka is… Earlier, we included that one rider, Mukai River, but he’s probably been dropped now. Well, the team that couldn’t quite get those two points is now in a state of retreat. Right Just As the group stopped once, I believe the gap has widened considerably. Probably not visible from the group, is it? The leading group has spread out quite a bit too. Yes, that’s right. Now that Ai’s rider has started pulling, Ai isn’t riding either. Just one for now, but I don’t think Ai-san is on board, is she? Yes Footage of the group Looks like it’s been open for several tens of seconds. It’s back on the road it was running on earlier now. Right then, next time, and the teacher, you’ve returned to the larger road again, haven’t you? Heading northwest Finally, from Hamura, we began incorporating more of the circuit course Does this mean we’re getting quite close to the entrance of the circuit course? The sprint point is also nearby, isn’t it? Yes The group’s pace has picked up a bit, hasn’t it? I see, Euro Cycling Trips, is it? Yes Therefore, Euro Cycling Trip Store, Lucy Fukuoka, this team around here is still We’re falling behind, but it’s only 45 seconds, you see. It’s already out of sight. It’s quite a challenge to catch up, but that one pair is really giving it their all. We’re not quite within sight of their backs yet, so we must keep at it. It’s within easy reach, isn’t it? Mukai, who had fallen behind, is now pulling back. Well, there are three teams chasing him, so The horse hasn’t slowed down drastically yet Victoria is gathering a bit towards the rear, isn’t she? Jcn is indeed the method, isn’t it? Yes Yamamoto Masaki has now joined the leading group. Yamamoto Masaki is number 81. As you said, I received a drink from neutral. In the book of a lifetime, there is Masaki Kono. Player Ai-san, there was plenty in there, wasn’t there? Is Inami in? Yes, that’s right. The Matrix is Okazaki Mr Imamura is also a favourite to win. Maman, as you can see, is drinking. Oh, and then there’s Jono, Mohammad Nur, Amarillo, and Betors. Miguel Yamamoto, Andrei Oob Merla, Masaki Yamamoto, Sawada, Minami Yasuda, Kawakami, Iribe, Okazaki, Kawakami Well, they’re certainly not ace players by any means. Well, half of them are teams that included fairly important players. Well, half of them are more on the assist side, so it’s a team that’s got that sort of thing in place. This probably involves more uphill circuits, so how about pushing harder on the climbs? If things go badly, it could end up being about half the time, couldn’t it? Ah, I see. Right. The race has 70 kilometres remaining. Soon. Having passed the halfway point, they are about to reach the turning point. Kawano is reading the team car, but there’s still less than a minute to go. He won’t be able to get up between the teams, will he? I see. Not long after the advance, the right side of this image I believe it’s just before Kawabe Station. Yes, just beyond that is Kawabe Station. After passing through here and completing the sprint point at the finish line, Circuit course required There are drinks available. Ah, but it’s quite something, isn’t it? This is the official bottle bike, and you do see them in France, though. This is groundbreaking. Well, it is a summer race, so that’s why they introduced this this time. I’d like to hear your thoughts. Regarding the Japanese race in July Everyone was saying, ‘What on earth will the heat be like?’ Well, yes, today fortunately the temperature didn’t rise that much, so yes, that was good. Just a little while ago it was apparently 35 degrees. Because it’s added, you see. Yes Bottle bike, eh? It seems capable of coping to some extent even on scorching days. As I mentioned earlier, unless we close the gap to less than a minute behind the leading group and the Democrats, the team won’t advance, will they? Now then In that sense, riders in the leading group could easily find themselves in a situation where they are unable to receive bottles for an extended period. from First Ai-san Minami and now Bedless, hence headless. Today, I’ve repeatedly slipped into the leading pack. I’m motivated. That’s strong. Yes, the familiar player who was once with Victoire Hiroshima And the much-anticipated Nehara Castle And now, Murazawa Toshiki I’m the same, yes Furthermore, Masaki Yamamoto’s… well, he’s bounced back from a broken bone, so to speak. He hadn’t quite reached his peak at the All-Japan Championships yet, but what do you think? And now I’m getting back into the swing of things again. 40 seconds behind The gap between the leading group and the peloton is 40 seconds. As three teams are jointly chasing the main group, the gap has widened and is no longer increasing. What about VC Fukuoka Euro Cycling Trips and Mr. Ai? Well, it’s included in the election campaign, so yes, it’s included. It has now become a matter of the front and the group’s movements, hasn’t it? After that, will they enter the circuit and catch up from behind in one go? Will the winner be decided from among these? The team car is being called to the rear of the pack now. The group currently pulling that pack is… Euro Cycling and probably VC Fukuoka, yes. Not really, though. dominating that group
that group I don’t think it’s a team that can consistently pull steadily all the way to the finish. So these 40 seconds were pretty much all we could manage. I think it’s being kept to 40 seconds. Is that so? Circular dating is still uphill. The first uphill climb. Year It’s like suddenly leaping up from the pack like this. I do get the feeling that a bridging movement might emerge. Therefore, on the ascent to the first assembly I expect there’ll be a bit of shuffling between the front and the main body. Ai-san is pulling back, isn’t she? VC Fukuoka has left, so only News Cycling and Ai-san’s 34 members remain. Just a moment, please. This rather unpromising aquarium The left turn is coming up soon, isn’t it? Was this the main road? There was a sign saying ‘1 kilometre to the sprint point’, wasn’t there? Well, is that so? It won’t be long now. How well do you recognise the players around here? Arsh is top-tier, though. In a sense, Page is the hit spot in front of the station. That’s where the young lady started off just now, isn’t it? It’s a completely independent sprint point, isn’t it? Yes The next athlete will be awarded the prize. Well, as a leg rider, it’s a pleasure to have you on board. He’s a veteran who knows Roadless inside out. They’re doing it here too, aren’t they? It’s starting. Is this the Mash episode? If I were to take it, it might be about the same age. I took it. The trend indicator was acquired. 65 kilometres to go. We’ve just passed the halfway point of the race. We’re now entering the circuit course. Well, this is what we’ve been waiting for, isn’t it? It seems to have turned right here. Right, right. Or perhaps not? Straight ahead? Or somewhere else? Er, it’s the starting point for the weekly course, isn’t it? The final episode was at the fence on the right just now, ah The other side? This is this, so let’s keep our players going. That’s it. Yes, that’s right. Well, Ruja, you’ve seen the reactions, haven’t you? So yes, if I had to say, I’m probably more of a free-spirited type. Promotion, eh? There’s also a clockwise circuit, isn’t there? So you just go straight through and round the bend. From here, the competitors can gradually feel the effects. The climb gradually ascends, and then, yes, that final section is where it really kicks in. The ascent A certain Metami-san has reached 55 seconds. One more time, Torenga. Right. Ohmed Nur Aimari Losri has taken the second sprint point. Now, this jersey number 14 is Rosli, who just took the Spanish point. Yes, the Malaysian Skull Champion jersey, I suppose? Well, it’s blue, isn’t it? Team Way. That’s the idea. Here it really is just slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly I wonder how it will turn out Yes, climbing at about 3% gradient. Then it sharply turns right and climbs the mountain towards the mountains. It’s still some time away, isn’t it? Yes. If the place we passed earlier is correct, it’s near the station entrance. Right, yes, I suppose so. I’m sorry. My apologies. The concept of ‘Eat Station Front’ is novel. You will see the set of 14 people. Kawabe and the sea, yes. The rider at the front of the pack is Kawano, yes. Not Kono, yes. Japanese kanji is difficult, isn’t it? Difficult There is a connection Entering the circuit Four laps First lap The first lap of the circuit course is and so on, but this area too I imagine this is a road frequented by many cyclists on a regular basis. Right then, these ten riders are now separated by roughly a minute. What will happen? The group is chasing them. VC Fukuoka has appeared once more. We’ve been on the back foot quite a bit today, haven’t we? But you see, I reckon it’ll pick up on the steep gradient section after this. Well, the riders pulling back here are climbing, yes. You might just get left behind, you know. That’s a tricky one, isn’t it? The athletes also entered the steep gradient section I expect the Attaque riders will come out. Is that so? Yes Even players with teammates ahead of them I reckon they’d make a move if it’s a steep gradient section. The distance uphill isn’t particularly long, is it? Yes The descent is also quite… well, quite full of corners, isn’t it? But it’s not as technical, is it? It is essentially linear in nature. It’s not exactly switchbacks or hairpin turns going down, but yes. But still, it feels like you’re in a car. The bottle bike is doing a splendid job, isn’t it? That’s true. Everyone wants it. The gap between teams is still not quite a minute yet. The team car isn’t moving up, is it? Yamamoto Masashi is also calling for the team car. Probably permission won’t be granted, would it? The water you get from the bottle bike is probably just plain water, isn’t it? Ah, so it’s that energy-type chew or drink that the current players use, you see. Everyone wants them, so yes. The intake of curly per hour is quite strictly regulated, so yes. I’ll pull back during practice after all. I’ll ask, says Rujia, ah I suppose so. Yes Ace-class Carterbet personnel are present, but I heard… It doesn’t look like the pace is particularly fast there. Yes, it feels like they’re positioning themselves. How many trains are there? Tens of millions, perhaps? Osaka, again It’s delicious J: There shouldn’t be that many of them, though. The level crossing was properly in place. It’s said to be in the middle of a Japanese town, but the person themselves is an outfan. Why is Japan considered better? A triple-threat athlete in road racing, cyclo-cross and mountain biking, isn’t he? Well, being top-level in each of those three disciplines is truly impressive. Yes, I hold the All-Japan title in mountain bike cyclo-cross. Well, I haven’t become the Japanese champion on the board, mind you. He has won titles on the J Pro Tour and such. Asia. Is that alright, I suppose? They’ve got the Asian title, haven’t they? 55 seconds unchanged. The climb to Japan is drawing near. The leading group is climbing a 300-point ascent. I don’t think we’ve seen that kind of explosive attack yet, you see. Perhaps one or two might slip through the net, though. The issue is the movements on the Meishu Dam side. I reckon it’ll take that long, seeing as it’s a four-ascent climb. Yes It’s still the first time. As Kudo the announcer explained earlier, With a maximum of 5 points per attempt and 4 attempts total, that makes a maximum of 20 points. Sprint points are one-off, but the secondary prizes are cumulative, yes. The total can be won, with a maximum of 20 points available, but the person who scores the most points wins. Sauna Here we go. Make a precise U-turn This is going to be rather difficult, isn’t it? The gradient just drops off—ah, yes, that’s right. It remains, doesn’t it? Right then, let’s take the guests up the first hill, shall we? Well, that’s quite something all at once. Here, it’s still climbing on the turn, isn’t it? So it’s quite French-like, isn’t it? Yes, it did go below 60 kilometres. Well then, how about that? Cheers erupt Well, before Solution Tech? Yes, that’s right. Tee-Kaku-Aru-Tuu-Chika, and Big-Twa-Ru, I suppose? After that, the gradient becomes quite steep towards this line. Yes, that’s right. Chara Victorians players’ training proposal: VC Fukuoka to continue leading I see Yes The leading group is now on a steep gradient section. Right, right. I reckon this might be about 15 per cent. Not quite that much, I’d say. Well, that’s about right here. Well, it’s still pretty quick, isn’t it? Bicycles are like that, aren’t they? Just one kilometre to go, eh? To the summit The front section has 1 kilometre remaining Entering the hills, signal’s a bit weak It’s becoming difficult to get through. I’ve already driven this route by car, yes. I thought it would be tough on a bicycle. Yes, everyone’s already on it. The first climb, up to the fourth lap, that’s what we’ll see. Right Iribe raised it slightly. One person went, didn’t they? He’s aiming for the King of the Mountains, isn’t he? Probably, yeah. Until the first mountain prize, it looks like he’s in good form. Yeah, you’re spinning your legs quite fast in a light gear, aren’t you? Right then, garlic. More like an attack that isn’t really an attack It gives the impression of being in good form with the legs turning well. Is that so? Right. Caught up at 35, did we? But the referee vehicle too, you know. Since it’s just come up, is the famous group getting closer too? I see. There were 55 seconds earlier, but how about that? For the combat group known as Komuts Had the referee vehicle backed up once? Now it’s passed again and escaped ahead, so it’s just tremendous support. Sorry Support for Kubota You are, aren’t you? Yes Quite a bit of VC Fukuoka being drawn, isn’t it? Oh I got the orange bottle and for a moment I was like, “Oh!” I continued cheering them on regardless. Honda Haruki is indeed leading the team in that regard, so yes. It hasn’t collapsed at all, has it? You’re having a good chat, aren’t you? Apparently, Fukuoka is actually where Eurocycling is becoming a bit more visible. Neko to Yokozuka-san Sorting results around here. Mr Koishi also calmly… originally one of the favourites to win. The leading group… ah, it’s spreading out. We’ll be at Keio soon, won’t we? Yes, right here. First place goes to number 93, Sawada. 5 points and Ah, here comes Yamamoto Masahiro! Ah, the group’s already here! That was quick, wasn’t it? Ten seconds? Maybe not even twenty seconds. It’s shortened considerably. Let’s rebuild it. Right then, we’ve cleared the first major hurdle and are now heading downhill. Well, we’ll be climbing this four times after all, so it’s quite a strain on the riders, isn’t it? It’s not insignificant, is it? Indeed, not just high school, you know. There are a few slight inclines, so… Oh, bloody hell. The group is still ahead, but Kurita is catching up from the front. That’s not the driver we’re talking about, is it? So, I suppose he must have caught up from the island after all, wouldn’t you say? Ah That’s impressive, isn’t it? Mr Quartucci has caught up with the leading group all on his own. He came alone, didn’t he? Right then My apologies 50 kilometres remaining Well, another one has arrived, hasn’t he? Right. Elliot surgery. Number 122. Footwarl Hiroshima. And if misfortune should strike, eh? Yes, that’s right. Eraldo de Garcia. Quite a few more people have turned up. This really is… These players with such pace started dropping out one by one. This is split Second place is Fukuda, third place is Masaki Yamamoto. It’s on the bend, isn’t it? Well, I suppose you can do it like this all of a sudden. Well, that’s true. Players who know the course inside out are fine, but… You’ve got your fingers sticking out a bit, haven’t you? Ah, yes, that’s right. Yes The motorbike was chasing us just now, but it’s a bit of a mess now. This is already behind the mob, isn’t it? The athletes who’ve been left behind, eh? After this, there’s a long tunnel, you see. Right Because of those cat’s eyes in the tunnel, it’s one-way traffic only. Ah, I see. That’s the thing, you see. I think the group will be stretched out again. Ah, if the width can’t be used Quite a while ago The group was indeed a bit scattered and disjointed. This is becoming a men’s group, isn’t it? I see. But surprisingly, even in front of the men’s group, they’re already trickling out. Quite a few groups might actually be forming when viewed from above. Now we’re entering the tunnel. Right, it’s straight ahead for a while from here. Right, so this is one-way, then. That’s right. There is indeed an example in the middle. The car that would get a flat tyre if you stepped on it was just about to break down this week. Yes It’s a bit on the dark side, isn’t it? Yes The latest sunglasses feature a warning function – be careful 52 kilometres remaining The footage inside the tunnel is rather beautiful, isn’t it? Well, yes. It uses mobile phone signals, so yes. In some tunnels, the signal actually gets amplified. Oh, is that so? I was just thinking about that international broadcast in France—the kind that sends signals up into the sky via relay. it disappears completely. Well, that makes sense. Japanese streaming is basically mobile-friendly, isn’t it? Going solo again? That’s the way it is, isn’t it? Well, the group still hasn’t formed a single mass at all. Indeed, that group we consider the main pack is slightly behind, with several riders in the leading group. Yes, they’re making a jump up. Well, it’s probably all over the place now. and there seem to be players scattered about too At the moment, it doesn’t really feel like we can say there’s a first group and a second group, does it? Yeah, they’re steadily catching up to the front, aren’t they? Yes It showed 3 kilometres remaining, didn’t it? Circuit course. Well, the final 500 metres deviate from this circuit. 25 kilometres to complete this lap From here, it climbs a little again. From the rear of the main group, yes. The pace seems a bit slow, doesn’t it? Yes, it’s stopped. And several strong riders have caught up with the leading group, so yes. If you open it again, it’s quite… This might become an important group, you see. The selection has been made, so ah Molecule Fukuoka has also brought in Ace’s Plares here, so yes Even so, VC Fukuoka completed their mission, so I see. The crowd won’t be drawn in anymore, will they? I see. Plares is also advancing stages on Tour Japan, yes. Yamamoto Genki seems to be quite the talker, doesn’t he? This might be a bit premature, though. Is it fair to say it’s among the front-runners in the championship race? With 50 kilometres remaining, the atmosphere is really building now. This person set the pace once more. Well, it’s rather nice to see Mr Shiro in there, isn’t it? There might be a chance of winning. 50 kilometres to go Premium location: In front of the storm player Is this playing an assist role? Well, yes. The fact that it’s appearing. Number 3, Quartucci, well, today, Solution Tech are all playing like aces, aren’t they? Members, but Yes, Athlete Asia is probably Well, this player Quarto Ichi is one of the favourites to win. Most recently this year, he finished sixth in the Giro dell’Appennino, a Class 1 race in Italy. isn’t it? He’s a rider competing at the top level in one of Italy’s premier races. Yes After that, there’s also the mutual entry into the stage for life at Tour Thailand, isn’t there? Yes. This continuous World Championship Well, even in that mountain point battle earlier, he probably climbed the fastest and was the first to catch up with this leading group. Well, it becomes a strategy to let him win. Is that so? As for Asada, he must have thought, ‘Oh, Lorenz is coming already?’ Yes, our lively climber. Youngsters, even if they’re 26, are still young. So it felt like, “Right, shall I assist then?” This is the final climb towards the finish line. It lingers, you see. Yes, that’s right. Surprisingly, it’s still there. It’s climbing again a bit Things are getting a bit disjointed This is the Flamme Rouge, so we’ll be entering the second lap in about 500 metres. The pull in the file is a bit tough for the rear B-class driver. He’s flying again. Number 11 Lately, it’s been quite a challenge to get him to stick with his signature expressions during that relay, hasn’t it? Yes. I hadn’t been using the expression ‘stickier than nattō’, but yes. Today, I’ll just pass on the message. I’d like to tell you. Right here, yes. This marks the start of the second lap. Finally, turn left from left and proceed for 500 metres. No, from here on it’s survival, isn’t it? Ah, and they’re doing para-racing, aren’t they? This, yes. Yes That’s how it is. in front of the direction As you can see, this is the finish line skin. Through all those various cycling events, well, truly… Cycling isn’t just for able-bodied people, This kind of sport, where everyone—including disabled people—can enjoy it together. and that various types of bicycles are being developed to accommodate different disabilities.
Various bicycles are being developed to suit various disabilities. Right? By spreading bicycles like this, a society where all sorts of people can enjoy themselves through cycling.
where diverse people can enjoy cycling. This is also being analysed. Regarding the Tokyo 2020 Games, yes. carrying on the legacy As the first part of this race, the Para-cycling event also featured Para-cycling athletes. We were able to see that too. The road race Tokyo Irie is hot right now. Yes, that’s right. Well, now it’s not just breathing either… This cooling of core body temperature, yes. Each athlete is thoroughly implementing it, even at the refreshment stations. I was receiving the signal, and yes, I’m currently applying it to my arm. After all, pouring water from outside… Well, the drying effect and the heat of evaporation lower body temperature, but Well, ultimately, when humans take water in through the mouth, it passes through the body… and sweat it out along with the minerals. And then that sweat evaporates, yes, lowering body temperature – that’s the mechanism, you see. Well, if you apply it directly to the skin, you can skip that complex process. It must not pass through the internal organs. Since we no longer sweat out salt and minerals, you see. After all, it’s by having water poured directly over you from outside and then drying off that your body temperature drops. It dissipates. I see. Well, it doesn’t mean you don’t have to drink, does it? Well, yes, I suppose so. Yes, I see. The moisture content has definitely decreased, but well… it can help to ease that process a little. When the body’s water levels drop its physical capabilities plummet by a staggering 20% or so, so yes If it drops by 20%, you simply can’t fight anymore, can you? Anyway, drink and keep drinking. It’s terrible. Yes, it’s a right mess. Again, at the finish line, this is a handcycle. When running low like that, the flag is raised, isn’t it? It’s dangerous, you see. Ah, there was an attack, wasn’t there? This is from the beginning. It’s no good from the group, is it? But you see, this group is stationary, isn’t it? Well, if you’re asking whether that incredible force is an attack… Well, it feels like it’s still coming out even when it stops. But here, we properly enter the Solution Tech player’s check. We’ll go together. Call Tocchi, you see. The castle will go ahead, so I’ll tell you. Just… yes. It’s best for C-Tech players not to make moves that draw attention like this either. Well, the difference in class is just too great, so he slipped through. That’s exactly it. There’s a splendid possibility, you see. It’s not the golden 90s, is it? Brilliant continuity, or is this continuity? Yes, the smaller players are Conti and Cobalt Torch. Right, so we’re doing this, yes. Belly button manga, you see, it’s regarded as local kōneko. 45 kilometres remaining. Second round of the rally. The vanguard of the group is on the right; the combat group is on the left. We’ve only got one left out of four remaining, but yes, we’re already scattered. That’s right. Quite destructive, wasn’t it? Yes Well, who was it? It was splendid, wasn’t it? Brilliant Well, we are the golden 90s generation after all. That Saga… even players like that are already 35. Yes, Subaru Aria-san, as I’ve repeatedly mentioned… Vuelta a España. Yes, it was held at the designated address in 2015. Ten years ago, well, many of his results were still from that 15-year, 16-year period. That was around his mid-twenties, wasn’t it? As for the team I belonged to, I made my professional debut with MTN Kureka. After that, well, I continued with the same team, Dimension Data. After that, Israel transferred to And last year, after four seasons with Arpesin, Koratock This team, right? I see. Mathieu Handlepool and other teammates That player, you see 40 kilometres to go With the race time now down to about an hour remaining, it’s time for the riders to pull back. It seems rather long, so it’s definitely an assist. Yeah Ah, right. That’s brilliant. Ah, I see, I see. This VC. So you’ve got two people from Fukuoka in there, then? Ah, that’s right. You mean the opening bit, right? Right, right. Well, in the end, we couldn’t get them into the leading group, could we? Well, actually, the players, or rather the Japanese players, the Argentine players, you see… Otsuka was also pulling his weight, but still… I did think for a moment that it would be difficult to pull effectively in this race. With solid pulling from the Japanese riders, it’s a single climb to the ace-class prime. They sent two Spaniards to the front of the pack. Well done. Entered from But the tank at the back, you see… The aquarium is more or less finished, isn’t it? Aquarium dining area. This is the front. Wherever there’s another pace, how about a turnaround? Right, I see. The gradient increases near the triangular point. Mr Barak just now has now started climbing, but This is where they’ll be bringing up the runners with stamina, so it’s a point of interest. This is the initial chase, isn’t it? That was just now, wasn’t it? There were about ten of them, but it was quite a large pursuit. This one at the front is facing forward. The rear will now begin the chase and the main climb. I expect there’ll be another shuffle there too. Furthermore, the editing team will suffer damage, so to speak. Yes, the left side of the screen seems to be the front row. In terms of tools, this is the Poozoo Man. Yes, that’s right. Poolman Okada has entered the field. Pursuit, that’s a track event, isn’t it? Group support, individual support. In Japanese, it’s called…
Group support, individual support. In Japanese, it’s like… That pursuit and the French word ‘poursuivre’ for ‘to chase’, you see. Yes Right then. What do you think? The Time Sartsis battle and The aquarium is frozen solid, but Victoria seems to be the most noticeable one. Yes, that’s right. But 23 people is quite a good number, isn’t it? So the main group is already… well, you could almost call it a chasing mob, couldn’t you? Subaru is there right now. The front is a bit rough This… no, no, um… that’s not right, is it? The front is the castle and that site before the pursuit, right? Sorry, that aquarium is engaged in combat. That was… brilliant, wasn’t it? Right then. And Victoire, this one has a large ball inside. Ah, I see. Quite a Benjamin cardboard box, isn’t it? Well, there wasn’t any footage, but it was absolutely incredible. For the players who went in with brute force, this again This chase now has a chance of catching the front runners. Shuffle shuffle, eh? That means the athletes who couldn’t get on that chase might find it a bit tough. Ah, I see. Hashida is drawing back, isn’t he? And Quartu-Chia is the best against the very best.
The best of the best That’s right. Subhalaari goes here Solution Tech is in a favourable position, isn’t it? That’s the customer who’s really into the exercise, isn’t it? Again, Kubota. I’ll clear it tomorrow. Right, this one’s in too. Yokoi-san, the player in the middle, this orange player, yes. But it’s rather nice, isn’t it? When someone does that for you, you know. Just I’m worried about my throat Japan too, you know. Sometimes that slightly unusual cheering is… Tour Japan also has something new apparently, yes It’s support, but I’m just cheering for that Veran Make-chan. There’s a Balancemake, you see. Back in the day Mr Support Mart for Fukushima Shinichi, right? It was Naoki Sawada earlier, though. Just now, you see. A player can drive low Whether they can do so organically, you see He certainly is a legend in Japan. That’s right. For individual athletes too, you know. They’ve been holding it for quite some time, haven’t they? Yes, it’s been ahead since earlier. It’s getting late, isn’t it? Mr Yamamoto said that earlier, didn’t he? I’ll say it from both sides. The conversation doesn’t respond. He looked a bit disappointed, didn’t he? If you take it in first place, Sawada-san, is that 10 points? One more point, then. 5 Twice, right? The mountain classification is looking increasingly likely. That Kumazaki rider just overtook the rider in third place, so he’s probably got three points. 41 kilometres remaining I’m a bit concerned The question is how much time the pursuit will be behind when passing the 300-point mark. Earlier, a good group had formed the chase. Yes, sorry, I did mention that earlier, didn’t I? It’s new, isn’t it? That loud voice, Grammail, I’m sick of it. Conti being number one and all that. Well, it does say according to Conti. Everyone’s here, aren’t they? I hear you’ve got more heads now. So the M group has also increased, hasn’t it? This is where it’s decided. This is the decisive moment. The main group and the tweet are converging here. Released The civilian group side is still quite aggressive, attacking relentlessly every single time. There’s more of an interval compared to the leading group, after all. Right then, and it seems we’ve now got a live link with Mr Adachi. Mr Adachi? Yes, hello. Right now, regarding Aum… um, it’s just past Kurosawa 2-chome, isn’t it? We’re entering the feed zone. Now, I’d like to speak with Mr Uchida, Bridgestone’s team doctor. The riders are about to arrive, but could you briefly explain the role of the team doctor? Yes Well, we mainly joined the race race together. We’re doing everything we can regarding injury treatment and physical condition management. Right now, I’m trying to resupply in place of the Master. I’ll be there shortly. I’m a bit flustered at the moment. Yes, I’m sorry to bother you when you’re so busy. The players are due to arrive in about five minutes. Here, in the feed zone, the athletes are handed their supplies. What sort of things do you hand out? Well, it’s split into two parts, you see. Right, with the other person who comes first, um… In short, we handed over sports energy drinks and such. As I’m here to hand over water and ice, the athletes will naturally… are open, so they can take it twice, but If it doesn’t work there, then we’ll take it here. I’ll set the ice like this for now, and if you want to take it, you can take it like this. I see. The players have quite a bit of speed, don’t they? Yes. What do you focus on when making the pass? No, well, obviously not moving myself, and… or causing players from other teams to tumble Well, as a doctor, it’s extremely troublesome, so yes. That part is really… well, it’s doing that. So I won’t push myself. Yes Just It really is an incredible speed, so that thing, over and over again, that slightly… Well, having done it for about 20 years, I suppose I can manage that sort of thing. Well, given the current state of the race… it feels like the decisive moments are still to come. What do you reckon about that? I mean, we’ve only just finished one lap. If we’re in the same position on the second lap, that’d be fine, but if things get messy here, well… Well, I just couldn’t pass it on at the end, you see. So this is where it all comes down to, eh? Yes The second lap is where it’s at. Yes. By the third lap, if they’ve already spread out, there’s nothing to be done about it. Sis. Well, depending on how the race unfolds, deciding which rider to hand it over to… What to pass on, that is, something that gets them fired up. For example, Kawano from our team is visible now, He’s saying he wants tea, you see. Some people want that jelly-like thing, others want cola or something They’ll say all sorts of things. Yes, quite. That sort of thing depends on the player’s preferences, doesn’t it? Regarding the first person, it’s basically this, you see. they’ll say this is what they want via the intercom, or they’ll say they want this the following week. Well then, I’ll just get that ready for you. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get it to that person, though. The player should be arriving shortly. What do you think? Is it about time we started getting ready? Yes, I see. It’s becoming clear now. Well, I’m trying my best to make sure it’s visible from over there too. I’m small myself, so I’m trying my best to stand out, but I’m terribly sorry. Thank you for your time despite your busy schedule. The players should be arriving shortly. Do your best. Mr Adachi isn’t here. From the feed zone, I’ve conveyed that. Yes, thank you very much. Ah, I just moved aside a bit. The way Mr Hayashi was being pulled along and the sense that Professor Uchida was about to arrive any moment now… Well, conversely, the sense of immediacy was quite something, wasn’t it? Right up to the point where it passed by, using Mr Arai’s camera. I wondered if I could just set it aside and watch it. Now that got my heart racing. Right, I’ve gone and done it. What should I do? I thought that the moment Mac arrived. Mr Hayashi, I asked three questions starting from the point where I thought, ‘This must be the last question’. Impressive. Well done everyone, well done indeed. Yes, as a reporter it was a great success. Well, Professor Uchida was truly impressive, wasn’t he? I can understand that feeling quite well, you know. That sense of ‘he’s coming now’, you see. Yes, thank you very much. But then again, handing it over does involve my own skill and considerable effort, you see. Yes, it taught me a lot about what I need to aim for and various other things. Professor Uchida and I have twenty students, so twenty years is quite something, isn’t it? Were you in front of the camera? Yes, this one was leading the way. But actually, that main part was quite scattered again on the second ascent, so yes
Yes, indeed. Ah The first 1040 people, so the two from Castle Quartucci are good. Solution Tech already has Betrus. This Rugey is pulling back quite a bit, isn’t he? Yes, and well, furthermore… That would make two from VC Fukuoka in the 100s, wouldn’t it? Plastic also includes Ryōdai Redesman. It’s a tree. Yes, indeed. Furthermore, two more from Boycott Hiroshima. Enrolment from Shimano has reached 1.61 million. Well then, that Blitzen is… Sawada, who has taken both mountain prizes so far, yes. This is quite something. The mountain prize is drawing near, isn’t it? Then, it’s about how close the main group is now. Well, either way, Solution Tech is behind us too. It’s pretty much everyone’s gone, I’d say. The lead batter is also Mr Shiro, one of the ace quartet’s aces, Mr Quartucci. Yes Well, it’s certainly a development where Solution Tech holds the advantage. Yes It’s come down quite a bit. VC Fukuoka’s Neko’s Pladestradezma Spain That new and old pairing is 41 and 22 years old, but here it is. Feed zone Ah, yes. This way ahead, yes. Up ahead, or rather, isn’t it about this area? Yes, that’s right. I wonder where they are. Someone around here. This one, Hirose. Well, Bree, this one, this one. Ah, this camera is filming us right now, isn’t it? Right then, can we get it out? Can we speed things up a bit? I don’t think so, so I’ll go. Since Fuji So isn’t at the front, we’ll receive it from the group, right? Probably one more time, in the practice session after this. I’m not sure if it’s even fair to call it a group anymore I suppose so. Yes That group, yes. Where might the handover take place? How far along is it, eh? Since we’re here, let’s use the health centre’s fixed camera here, yes. This one, yes. Close, but well, it’s probably been a while since it was this far apart. It’s a bit more relaxed, isn’t it? That sounds like something to watch out for. There are supply points too, but ah, don’t take that. Ah, and further back, here I am. Dangerous things do get taken away, don’t they? But you know, yes. Well, but two people standing there Even if you couldn’t receive it, you’ll be able to get it next time, right? Earlier, ah, the leading group and the main group haven’t quite merged yet, have they? We managed to climb earlier, but it felt like we’d eased off a bit just now. Yes. Ah Dropped it. Hmm, that’s tricky. Just two more floors up the stairs. This is starting to feel more like a survival race, isn’t it? Set. 34 kilometres remaining. The second time at the triangle, Sawada took first, Hara second, and the rider who said “please give it to Yamamoto” came third. Yamamoto Masaki seemed to have that one snatched away again, didn’t he? Probably Sawada’s movement too, well, just… Watanabe was turning like that, wasn’t he? The player didn’t particularly look like he was riding it, though. He crossed paths with Masaki’s line a bit, well, it was an appeal. It felt like I had to slow down a bit. No, well, Tazaki was also holding his own line, so yes Right then, now it seems we’re connecting with Announcer Kudo, eh? Yes Mr Kudo, I was at the 300-metre mark before the finish line, on the lap course. Only during that final lap We’re approaching the point 500 metres before the finish line on this side. Do you understand? I understand. Many thanks to everyone at the mountain point too. I visited, but here, the roadside was absolutely packed with people. had gathered, and everyone It’s a situation where they’re watching the players with their smartphones in hand. This townscape, and Sashisan on the left—do take a look. What is it? It’s incredibly powerful. You can really feel the intensity of the cheers from the roadside, can’t you? That’s right. And the temperature, well… When that opening segment first started, they were saying it was 26 degrees and quite pleasant. However, my thermometer now reads 34 degrees, making it extremely hot. It’s incredibly hot, and the leading group has arrived. Right, now the front is led by Benja of Bushido Fukuoka, followed by Shiro and then the others. At tremendous speed. It’s quite impressive, isn’t it? Thank you for your commentary, Mr Kudo. Impressive! Yes Well, I’ll be back again later, you know. The tank’s leading pack, right? Just how long will that Kudo-san tank stay up front? I’d like to take a look at the time car, so please continue with the report as is. I’d like to see the camera on that course too. I’m sorry, but I’d like a good camera.
Sorry about that. If you could take a look at this course, Mr Kudo, please come out and speak. It’s arrived, hasn’t it? Right, about 30 seconds, I suppose. It’s scattered, isn’t it? Benjamin Daiball, the player, is still unknown, isn’t he? Is this the start? Yes There was another group after this, wasn’t there? I reckon that was the horse step feeling earlier. From here on, it might be a bit tough, wouldn’t you say? Tough, would you? Right then, let’s settle this once and for all. Up to this point, and from here on, it’s the so-called latecomers, right? But then, next time, it’s a bit behind the other teams now, isn’t it? Yes, that Kirei player. Yes, Genki player was there, wasn’t he? What do you think, Mr Kudo? So we’ll see at the mountain stage. That athlete’s breathing was quite something, wasn’t it? The sight of the athletes on this downhill section really highlights the sheer speed of that machine. And the sheer sense of speed is absolutely incredible, isn’t it? Yeah, it makes you appreciate a different kind of enjoyment in racing. Yes This is a report from Mr Kudo. The point where the circuit enters the final lap with 500 metres remaining This concludes the report from this point. Well, since they showed us fixed-point footage, we could clearly see the time gaps between each competitor. Mr Akudo, thank you very much. You’re on camera. 31 kilometres to go Well, that’s still quite a way to go before reaching the point between the teams, isn’t it? Well, yes. Until now, the right to compete has been… The leading pack seems to be easing off a bit, doesn’t it? Actually, yes. Hmm. Probably the heat, I suppose. I was surprised from 34. Yes It’s rather hot, isn’t it? I should say so. The temperature setting on my device in Tokyo is currently 26 degrees, so I reckon it must be rather hot around there, don’t you think? Yeah Well, I suppose direct sunlight hitting it and the glare… yes, there is that. The road surface might be particularly hot. I suppose so. This is the rear of the main group, but they seem to be a bit scattered. Between riders who want to push and those who don’t, it’s a bit of a gap, or rather, a gap within a gap, you see. It’s split. Both front and rear have suffered a bit of damage due to the heat after all. That’s the impression I get. Is that so? Yes. He seems keen to provide water, or rather supplies, for everyone. Hmm, around here, stamina is… well, it’s a contest where we’ll just have to see how things go. It looks like things are starting to come together from here. The Redesman has now retreated to the very rear. The mourning procession too No one’s stepping on it, so about ten people are running late now. Yeah, it’s not like the front is attacking or anything, but yeah. The leading group, right? Well, the race is now down to the last 30 kilometres. We will now show you the women’s podium ceremony. Yes, here is Ms Kobayashi. And Before that, it was Kaneko. And in third place is Watanabe. Yes. The Fighting Spirit Award goes to Kaneko, and the King of the Mountains Award to Kobayashi. Is that alright, sir? Right then, we’ll now move on to this player, who is the only one on the pitch. The Sano Award just now was also won by Kobayashi, wasn’t it? I see. So, on both occasions, passing through and scoring more points is what caused the damage, is that right? In this boy’s case, if Sawada gets it next, it’s already confirmed. That’s 20 points in total. So far, I’ve scored 10 points. If you pass in first place, you get 15 points. Well, if Yamamoto passes next, he can extend his lead to 9 points. If he takes first place, it’s a bit unclear, but if Serve gets it… Both remain in the lead. Yes, and that’s exactly right. 53 You’ll get the top three points. Indeed, leading the front group like this is Japan’s Satoshi Kojima, isn’t it? Less than 30 kilometres to go. Heading uphill once again This is where we descend for a bit, isn’t it? Just ahead, to the right of the camera, is the Okutama Bridge, I suppose. Passing by… or rather, passing by while looking sideways. Earlier, I caught a glimpse of a tank just behind the leading group. Right, straight ahead. So this third climb… There might be another shuffle, so to speak. The typographical difference is presented at the outset, isn’t it? The players understood. Shiro looked behind him.
The players understood. Is he checking on his teammates? He’s picking up the pace again, isn’t he? The castle is trying to tighten things up a bit and make a selection, isn’t it? Well, essentially, it seems they’re trying to maintain this leading group, doesn’t it? A place where they won’t be overtaken from behind? That selection still… well, it’s a section without much gradient, so if I had to choose… It feels like the leading group is pushing the pace. I see. Well, as expected, that ace’s remaining strong quarter-finalist is in good form today, isn’t he? Yes, if this group stays together going into the final lap, he’ll probably win it. Right. Well, I suppose there are players who have that kind of ambition. I see. They’ve got a cracking team of solution techs lined up behind them too, you know. At the same time, other strong players will be brought up too, so well… There’s a desire to compete within this leading group. The Spanish duo from VC Fukuoka in the leading group, you see. They’re about as far apart as a 41-year-old and a 22-year-old parent and child, aren’t they? Yes, these two too. They’re strong, you see. Right then, we’ll soon be approaching the entrance to Mita Station and finally heading uphill. Yes And now, Elliot Shoes is also at the forefront, you see. He’s a player not to be underestimated, you see. He’s a contender for the title too. So we have a truly impressive line-up gathered here before us. Ah, Solution Tech is about to make a move. The aquarium’s Solution Tech too, eh? Right then. Blitz’s something or other, this Can we catch up here? Even so, I don’t know what’s behind it either, as there’s no radio contact. I’m not actually able to wait for you right now, you see. Right, this is probably the last time, isn’t it? Yes, this is it. The board thread mic shouldn’t have been informed, so it’s fine. It’s getting close, isn’t it? These two… Ah, yes, that’s certainly true. Yeah After about 20 seconds, Arah Castle picks up the pace. With punches thrown, Araki is 40 this year, 41 now. That’s right. In a certain month, it feels like exceptionally strong teamwork. Yukiya Arashi: This is the third time today on the way up, isn’t it? I still don’t think this is the climb for Quartucci. Ah, I see. The players’ assists are still functioning well, you see. Right. They’re not going to leave it until the final lap, are they? Well, well, you can’t wait too long either, can you? There’s a chance other energetic players might remain. I think that’s a difficult call to make. Well, how we can steer things in a direction that works to our advantage. Well What Sasha-san mentioned earlier about that player, Shi, picking up the pace to chip away at the lead. Well, it might be interesting if Shi-san goes full throttle on this climb, though. So, the final week will be left to that crew, I hear. But it seems these two at the back are quite close together, isn’t it? Indeed, it might be about 20 seconds. This is someone, isn’t it? Solution result… right now, the bib number, yes. The picture quality is a bit… 300 years of this Kei support points Heading this way Third time’s the charm, isn’t it? That cowbell ringing makes it feel just like the Alps, doesn’t it? Behind Arashi, who was picking up the pace, Quartoci also made his way through to join the board racers. He’s really pushing it, isn’t he? This is definitely rising, isn’t it? The rear, rear is a bit short on numbers. Ah, and here comes a quick attack. I’m quitting this job. So you were aiming for this all along, were you? Puaana, is that all? Yes, just now Mr Oka came up behind me. I see him now. That was the moment he caught up. Well, I suppose it was just a coincidence, but there was no radio, so We made it on the third lap, didn’t we? So you’d decided to attack around here on the third lap, then. Yes, that makes two protesting.
Yes, two protesters. Ah, we’re already pursuing the other two. Yamazaki, Yamamoto Masaki and Sawada Toki, I suppose? I’ll finish the job. No, even in professional work, they slowed their pace to finish the assist work. It was a clear, straightforward strategy for both teams, wasn’t it? Amidst the splendid absence of radio communication That really was a splendid combination. Yes Good players really delivered at the crucial moments, you see. Circle Dodger looks back once more and picks up the pace.
Circle Dodgeball looks back once more and picks up the pace Right. Sawada and Masaki, is it? Ah, yes, yes. The mountain prize duo from earlier, aren’t they? Yes The Aplades Range Plus Busif effect too, you know In good condition, yes. Easily keeping up with Pulpuchin’s attack. and immediately took the lead. Yes, it doesn’t feel like they were pushed to the limit to get there at all, does it? It’s a bit broken, and you might end up wondering, ‘Who on earth is this player?’ Ah, I see. It’s Prades. 41 years old. Well, I’m a bit older than you, so I suppose I should apologise rather than… I suppose so. Well, back in the day with Team Kyō and all that, yes, Atric, sorry Third base They’re catching up a bit, aren’t they? This is the triangular point, coming up very soon. Which one was first through the Apprais? Sawada came through third. This allowed him to accumulate even more points. He was really hanging on, wasn’t he? And Iribe, well, that’s the natto running style for you. And the athlete who caught up with this one, yes, yes. Oka hasn’t quite made it up yet, has he? I came from behind, but as you can see, I passed the third participation point. Just one more time now. 24 kilometres remaining From here, a fast descent at a considerable pace Right, let’s take a look Wild Chippa And Sawada, well, this… Sawada and Yamada Masaki I reckon he’ll probably catch up to the front, so he’s strong. Yes, that makes it 11 points for the three players. The gap is truly This is practically confirmed, you see. Yes, that’s right. The front and the two others probably haven’t scored many points, so it’s almost certain. Behind this, you see, the three Japanese players still include Masaki Yamamoto. I’d like to see it again. Right, I wonder if we can catch up with this downhill approach. Just a little more. Is the gap behind us closing now? Ohno is desperately trying with the microphone and camera too. Prades is coming up. It’s quite a long descent, but there are a lot of corners. Yes.
Prades is ahead. It’s quite a long descent, but there are many corners. Yes. It’s a corner you can take at speed, you see. The gradient isn’t particularly steep, so yes. Hello once I’ll go ahead Whilst taking turns at the front, you see. Yes A 26-year-old Italian player standing at 170 centimetres tall – the same height as Radio.
26-year-old Italian player, 170cm tall – same height as the radio presenter. Yes, and then there’s Pla, who is 41 this year and will turn 42. You’re from the prestigious Italian amateur team, Zaluf, aren’t you? Well, I suppose I’m not exactly among Italy’s top-tier players, but… The next best, yes. Here, the two proceed steadily, neatly taking turns at the front. 21 kilometres to go Incidentally, the race director car’s vehicle The outside temperature is 25 degrees, I see. Ah, well then, perhaps that might be the case, yes. Like, returning it or at a fixed point, or holding it in your hand like this and placing it down when the temperature rises.
or something like that. Yes, it wouldn’t be 34 degrees like that. I don’t think so. Well, that’s to be expected. This is Ome, so it’s probably further inland and a bit higher up too. The temperature should be lower than in the city centre, but the local temperature in the city centre is 27 degrees, so I believe it was around 25 degrees. How about the rear? The three Japanese will stop here. They’re talking, aren’t they? Yes Well, they’re Italian and Spanish, you see. Yes Even between native speakers, you can sort of get by, you know. Apparently, everything is being spoken in English now. I was thinking of going Well, he was saying something like that, so I suppose he’s saying he’ll try to be more careful. Plares, you see. English? Well, I can speak it reasonably well, I suppose. Plares probably means ‘ball’ if the other person is Italian, and ‘Paul Tochi’ is ‘ball’, right? A Spaniard might not know, right? We’re from different generations, after all. So I might be pretending not to know, or pretending not to understand. Well, it’s possible he’s just talking for the sake of talking, isn’t it? Well, it seems like the Italian conversation we had earlier was just a placeholder, eh? This probably means my Japanese might be better than my English, you know. Yes, the Japanese player is behind… But with three of them, it felt a bit crowded. They seemed rather important, more so than I’d expected. But I don’t think they’ll take everyone, so I suppose they’ve narrowed it down. With this, we’re 35 kilometres from the final episode. We’re about to enter the final lap, aren’t we? Saga Point As you can see, Wildatch scored 5 points + 3 points, and Sawada scored one point. So Sawada has 11 points. Ah, right. Then this one and Chiga have 5 points each, but that’s confirmed, isn’t it? At this rate, when will we get the 5 points? We’re already 6 points behind. Mr Sawada’s participation is confirmed. That’s good. This is the second tank, isn’t it? There’s an Iribe. Ah, yes, that’s right. Whether we can catch up here After the first two, the rear ones have disappeared from view again. Well, you see… When I saw the footage earlier, it also looked as though it had loosened again. 19 kilometres remaining This is the pursuit, so yes, that’s right.
Yes, that’s right. No, Kubota’s really putting in the effort, isn’t he? He’s still in it. The cheers from the roadside really give you a boost, don’t they? Yes, though it probably wasn’t shown earlier, they were shouting loudly around here near the ball point. Yes I see Keep a close eye on the first move, Quartoon. Well, it’s possible there’s no radio, but… The player who came up from the main group at Solution Tech I’m not quite sure who it is yet, but is it Sarenko from Ukraine? It seems Hayashida has finished his work already. It has dropped. This is Masaki Yamamoto The one before that is Iribe Then VC Fukuoka’s Delesmar held back a little Imamura goes, Sawada-kun, Retoru, Quarter pulls back, Elliot, number 6
Retro quarter drawn, Elliot number 6. It looked like number 6, didn’t it? Another celebrity, eh? Challenge it. Ah, I can see it. This is good. The easily understandable Ukrainian, Hiro Roshenko Right then, here’s where I’ll take a back seat. Since it’s just VC Fukuoka and Shonishon Tech, the other players can take turns, you see. Yes All right That’s because these two are facing forward. They are Waltucci and Prades. We shall shortly enter the final assembly. That makes a total of four weeks. We are now nearing the end of the third week. The gradient is unexpectedly steep, so the athletes are performing splendidly. This… someone just bangs it right up front, bang! Will any athletes jump up? Surely their legs are already shot by now, aren’t they? Hiroshima, who had a bit of momentum, came out slightly ahead earlier, though. That’s right. Even if Kuroda pulls back, Oda’s already at his limit, isn’t he? Is that so? Yes. I’m sacrificing myself to listen for Elliot Schultz over there. Oh It’s plastic, but it’s come out. With 1 kilometre remaining, it’s one more lap and 500 metres. Blimey, Kubota’s pulling back, probably feeling the pressure. It feels like I can almost hear a voice from behind me saying, “Do this.” Right, the aquarium tank needs another kilo added now. Once we’re through this tunnel, we’ll be back at that very intersection again, won’t we? Approaching Then, turning right to enter the final lap, That’s the spot Mr Kudo reported on earlier, isn’t it? Up ahead. Left microphone 34 degrees. This spot alone may be 34. A bit of heat, you see. Customers, we’re now entering the final lap. Planes is in the lead. That Venture Prize has quite a bit of sprint in it, doesn’t it? Ah, yes. Probably around that time. That Lorenzo Quartucci is probably talking quite a lot right now, this chap. I might have realised that Spanish or Italian might be understood there. Well, probably plastic. I don’t think I know either. And this is it, you see. You look like a climber with that slim build, don’t you? So that bit here, when two people grip it, the Quartu-Chi’s… how would you structure the strategy? At number 101, Japan’s Team VC Fukuoka came out to play. Despite appearances, the sprint was quite a group sprint.
101: Japan’s Team VC Fukuoka in play. Though it may not look like it, they’re actually sprinting quite well in the group sprint. Even on the lint, they’ll plant it. Yeah, they don’t look like that sort of build, do they? It doesn’t show. I am 41, after all. And this is Qualkich, aged 26.
26 years old Perhaps someone who thought it was a bit strong. I see. There is. This is the aquarium. Kubota’s still holding it back, isn’t he? Well, Elliot Shoes too, you know. It’s like he’s waiting for the other players. He’s a bit off, isn’t he? But the fact he’s angry… this is no good. Just get on with it, then. Ah, it’s because I’ve been listening to my teammates all this time, you see. Yes, that’s right. Well, the only ones with the right not to be drawn are VC Fukuoka and Solution Tech, so Because they’ve already sent it in before. Right, right If the other players are going to chase, then they’d better keep up properly. Right. Can’t you turn it on? Well, I suppose he also wanted to replenish his own supplies a bit. These two are maintaining their gap even without going full throttle, you see. Right, these two are finally approaching the final climb. Yes, it’s a bit of a feeling-out process, you might say. How long will they be gone? Yes. How much leg are we leaving behind, you see? Well, Solion Dick is still the only winning professional team. They are a superior team in the second division, after all. We simply cannot afford to lose this one, can we? Yes This particular thing… perhaps it’s probing by talking to it. Ah, is that so? Housewives. Well, you can’t exactly ask castles or such via radio, can you? No, because there’s no radio. From Solution Tech’s perspective, you see. Well, VC Fukuoka is a Japanese continental team after all, so never mind. It might be someone I know, but realistically, I wouldn’t have any information. He doesn’t seem to be Japanese, you see. 15 seconds gone. The front is Benjamin Plough. The rear is Quartoci. If you’re there, you’ve got time to spare, right? Even if you properly secure it on this final lap Karenko got ahead during the prestation After that, he was still in front of his teammate, you see. I can’t be too obvious about backing out, but I’m in good form and I really want to go, I really want to go. This won’t shrink, will it? Shall we pick up the pace a bit? I think this opening is available. This atmosphere is different from before. earlier, when it was shortest, I thought it was about 20 seconds or so. These three are going, aren’t they? Reluctantly, the three of them went. Yes. Riyu’s surgery and the three of us: Imamura, Sawada, and Toki. I didn’t go to Ireiibe, but I did go to Libya. Just a bit. Ah, this will get me arrested, won’t it? That’s a bit harsh, isn’t it? Ah, the rear? I see. Yes The top two are now battling it out for the championship Has it come down to these two? Or is there still a chance from the chasing pack behind? Is there a surprise attack? As for the rest of this pursuit, Tourenko certainly has the legs for it. Yes, once we hit the climb, there’s a chance he could go full throttle and tear away to move up the field, right? Saitō and Masaki Yamamoto join the team. Then, Redes becomes Sawada Retors. Imamura, Sarenko, Schultz, Shin Tero – that makes nine. I don’t think so. Kubota: That’s right. Ho 125 pieces, I suppose I don’t know. If something close is coming up from behind, there’s a dabble in the spot behind now, right? Ah, right. My apologies. No, it’s surgery. Surgery But it is surgery, isn’t it? The one who just pulled out at the front is probably three, that’s right. 125 Five, then. It’s Kubota after all. Ohta, yes, that’s right. You’ve split up with Gar, haven’t you? Why are you laughing? That’s what you’re doing, isn’t it? Well, with that, Suma is at the front, so a make-work operation is taking place. Once again, Salento Poodles Imamura, and then… the defence, Yasuda. What a waste. This sort of thing, yes, there are chances, but… They say they deliberately place it behind the histabictor and leave it there. Well, that’s the psychological warfare unique to road races. The gap’s probably widened by now. These two are quite the runners, aren’t they? And they’re jumpers too. Now it’s the final lap uphill battle, but you see… What do you think? It’s a question of whether one of them will snap, isn’t it? Judging by the climb earlier, there doesn’t seem to be much difference in strength. Is that so? I saw it, but it won’t be long now. Right then, it’s Kuma-chichi and Pura. Well, I’m going to the wrestling match, you see. Now, we’ll make a hairpin turn at the entrance to Kusabana Station and head uphill. Right then, this is it. Front Baltic, rear
front Balt rear I’ll wait for the steep gradient, so I’ll just keep an eye on the rear for a moment. Right now, Quarto is checking the gap between the front and rear. Visually, Altech seems to have plenty of room. Well, as Mr Sashi says, this section is probably still a bit loose. Right. If there’s going to be an attack, the position where the player just raised it has been signalled. I reckon it’ll be around that area, like the mountain points, you know. It’s just before the second one, you see. Yes, that’s right. My mouth gets in the way a lot If we don’t break away here, I reckon it’ll come down to a sprint finish. Right then, the riders have a sprint coming up. Yes, now. I suppose there are certain positions too, yes. Looking at Platini’s results… Well, if anything, it’s more of a puncher type when climbing, you see. Right Still no movement This is the remaining 10 kilometres, isn’t it? I’ll raise it. I’m here The Imamura tank is just here, or was raised before the operation. The latter half has 10 kilometres remaining, so we’re 1 kilometre away from the 3-point mark. On the left, well, we’re about a minute behind. This was there, wasn’t it? I was being honest, you see. Yes, it was a deterrent after all. Unfortunately, the child will have to wait a little longer. The one I set up earlier, you see, the app comes up first. This area is becoming rather difficult for crossbreeding, so I’m completely baffled. The two professors are still at Partech. Just their names were mentioned That should give you some breathing room, right? We’ll be swapping positions at the front, you see. Right Looked behind Al-Zanti looked behind him, which means
Meaning he looked behind him. This might be worth a shot, I suppose. Well, yes, I suppose so. There really isn’t much information available. I suppose you’re also concerned about the gap behind. I could see it for a moment, yes. The gap is widening as the rear is still holding back. I don’t think they’ve grasped it yet either. They are on their guard, aren’t they? You were around here just now, weren’t you? Yes I’m writing this now, and I’ll have another drink while looking back. Shall I take this? Shouldn’t we just throw this away? What’s the matter? Perhaps. Monthly payments are a bit much, pro wrestling too He’s a 41-year-old veteran, so he probably understands his opponent’s mindset. 15 seconds. Yes, confirmed numerically. Both managed it, so yes. I thought there’d still be about a minute left, but surprisingly that’s it. Right, this comes forward, but it doesn’t quite feel like an attack yet. Quite right. The next bend is where the difference really counts, isn’t it? That’s right. If you turn the sign again, it won’t be here anymore, will it? Right here, then next left, then right, that’s the place. The bar torch just appeared for a moment, but then the plares came straight back out. It might be rather harsh to say it changes unexpectedly. I’ll try shifting gears and dancing a bit, so we’ll see if that works out. Looks like he’s picking up the pace a bit. Yes, Price’s run. He looks quite light on his feet. How about this one? Still no movement. Right, the point is coming into view. We’ve passed it, haven’t we? The two of you together… Passing through in first place as a pair is ultimately a bad thing. Second place went to Baldocchi. Or it’s 35 seconds, isn’t it? Three five seconds. Today, isn’t it? He really was strong, wasn’t he? Ah, that probably meant we couldn’t attack, didn’t it? Is that the feeling? I tried to aim for it, but their pace was too quick, so I couldn’t manage it. Blimey, it came! And somehow Challengo arrived. This is now Solution Tech B Fanty Two Three. Challanko, how many seconds would that be? It was quite a bit, so about 20 seconds. If I’d said that earlier, it would have been 35 seconds. I reckon we’ve trimmed it down a bit from there. It might be around 20 to 25 seconds. If we’d known the talent was coming, we should’ve saved our strength for the monthly Qualtorch event—that’s really how team battles work. In short, that’s good. That’s right. Yes. Without radio contact, we cannot ascertain that. Yes. Now, the descent of Sarenko is… Probably unaware of that Pradas’ sprinting ability, So, School Torch, yes, well, then, the talent of his teammates is coming up from behind. I don’t think they know that either. Well, it’s not that I don’t know those two pieces of information are circulating, but it’s different, isn’t it? Seven kilometres to go. Aqua Torch will hold these two off When the Quartooch comes into view, you see I’m afraid I… um, Sarenko is… Now these two at the front are focusing on the finish line. may slow down to keep each other in check. I see. Then, the Serration Tech talent swimming alone at the rear approached. Right, there’s a possibility it could become three people. When Quarto turned around, only one Solution Tech charge was visible. Yes, I think it’s only natural to wait. That’s right, isn’t it? It’s a 2:1 contest, after all. Well, Matsumoto, even though he was right behind that player, he just couldn’t help himself, you see. Well, we’ve swapped positions now, but as things stand, as the front-runner… If we drop that space and draw in Prades, It’s a chance to make it a 2:1 contest. Right. Well, there’s no radio either, and the situation isn’t right, so I’m backing off. Right, if we’re going to go with the option of just the two of us facing off… In a sense, it’s a plus, but this VC Fukuoka we’ve just put in the lead is a plus. As expected of a veteran, he’s skilfully steering the game into his preferred pattern. The attack was just like the one earlier, you see. I pulled ahead myself to contain it, and then about 5 kilometres Falcochi And I tightened my shoes again.
Falcochi And tightened his shoes He tightened the dial on his shoes. Well, it’s for the sprint, isn’t it? Right This is the VTR of the mountain point mentioned earlier. That’s it. And back then, you couldn’t have foreseen that three-peat behind File Datch, could you? Well, it’s not there, is it? It’s under five kilos. Right now, these two are running at a pretty good pace too. I don’t think the gap between them is closing, though. This means the King of the Mountains award is now confirmed for Sawada. Spicy 18 points on the stomach; visible even on the rear board. After that, it’s about whether that kind of information gets relayed at fixed points like supply stations. Besides, even if you look back, you wouldn’t be able to tell the team jerseys apart, would you? Ah, well, that’s true, isn’t it? Right, Bicolor just said 20 seconds, didn’t they? It says so. If we don’t hold back 20 cars, they say that if we hold back and they all drop at once, they’ll catch up in one go. The opposite happens, doesn’t it? There really aren’t any challenges, are there? Yes, The Road Race Tokyo 2020530 It’s a race exceeding 530 kilometres, but there are 38 kilometres remaining.
2020530 kilometres No, it’s an interesting and compelling race development. Centred around Solution Tech, it was a highly strategic race, you know? The banner for the final 4 kilometres came into view. And the course is a circuit, isn’t it? This force, ah yes, that’s right. Yes, the winner isn’t decided by that development, you see. It’s a course where you simply can’t get ahead without the real ability. No, it’s tough. No, no. Drinking another World Chit
Drink up, World-ch It’s plastic, but previously we were swapping the lead very fairly. That’s right. Oh dear It hasn’t come yet. It still hasn’t quite come, has it? That’s just the B camera, isn’t it? Yes I can’t see it. Right, this is the resupply point then. Right, this. Just 3 kilometres to go. Just a fixed point, you see. Looks like a time difference. Using the fixed camera, if you look at the current fixed camera view, yes, right, that’s it. Ten seconds, ten seconds, ten seconds. Ah, here it comes, here it comes, ah, it’s coming, this… ah, this changes the subject. This torch hasn’t noticed, though. When I turned around to look at my teammate, well… You just saw Prades, didn’t you? Ah, yes, I did. I saw Prades. But Franzucci hasn’t seen it yet. Just saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Saw it. Ah, it’s coming out. Nooooo I saw it. I saw it again. Oh, I said it. Oh, it’s there, isn’t it? This is plastic. We’re suddenly at a disadvantage. Didn’t you tighten it? You loosened this, didn’t you? While they’re still saying it up front, ahh, I’ve given up on that ‘not quite yet’ business. This is it. I don’t want to get close to this pro wrestling business, so I’ll just have to go it alone. Plus, there’s still the sprint, so even if I use my legs here, there’s a chance I can win. You’d want to go one-on-one, wouldn’t you? So I’ll give it to you. If you bring your sprint, there’s a chance. Yes. Once it’s 2:1, you wouldn’t want to go free 2:1, would you? Two more kilometres. I’ll push on myself. That bloke behind me, Shin, won’t come forward when I tell him to. I’ll tell him to come forward, but no, he won’t come forward. He’s coming, ho! Ah, ah, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come I’ll raise the pro wrestling. This goes up afterwards and then comes down again, right? Well, it’s a plan to just pull back on the upswing for now, isn’t it? Well, I’m a veteran now, after all. I should know how to win, and yet here I go again. Right then, I shan’t be going out. No, I shan’t be going out. Look behind you again, you know what I mean? Since Solution Tech came alone, I was told I fully understand that Ichiro won’t back down, and on that basis, I’m proceeding as if it’s the front line. It’s being done as a performance, isn’t it? Yes, that’s right. It’s now monthly. He’s completely switched to monthly. It’s already on the way up, you see. Whether I pull ahead or fall behind, it makes little difference, so I’ll just head upwards. But this is that plan. We simply cannot let him go. That’s the part where it’s attached, isn’t it? Ah, well, I’m stepping on it for now. Yes, I’m stepping on it. The guy behind me is getting a bit tough, you see. The thoughts aren’t drawing any nearer, are they? The regions being devoured seem to be having a rather tough time, so they really are strong, aren’t they? The price is good. No, this isn’t it. I want to take it to a match sprint, so I’m already using it to the fullest. Right then, one kilometre to go. Club Roo. Just one kilometre to go. Whether you can catch up to the challenge is a strong plus. Right then This means there are 500 metres remaining, then a left turn onto the home straight to the finish line. I reckon Chalenko was also strong on that gentle downhill slope. After all, the start of the climb is the tough part. Stepping on the gas would make it quicker, wouldn’t it? It actually widened, didn’t it? Well, it has spread, hasn’t it? Ah Now, after touching the file, I look back and think, ‘Oh, that’s it, isn’t it?’ I don’t think Qualtieri will be coming forward anymore. Right, right, right to the goal What was thoroughly good was having that Challenger there. These things won’t need to be pulled back for a while, so yes. I suppose you could say they’ve had a chance to rest their legs. So now it’s just a left turn and then the final straight sprint, you see. Then it’s down to which one has the sprinting power. Right, this intersection over there, where you come from the right and turn towards us, right? No, I’m afraid I don’t know about that. Parades used his legs too, but he’s a 40-year-old veteran at VC Fukuoka, you see. Right, this is what’s in front of us. It’s different from this, but it’s still strong. Less than 200 left. Ah, I’ve given up on Prades. Got it, got it. Solution.
Taking it On the wrist, Fanty, Arsetch The Road Race Tokyo Tower 2025 Champion. You all too, eh?
The Road Race Tokyo Tower 2025 Champion. You all too, you know. I did say that, didn’t I? Yes Shiraishi’s fine assist too And this Chalenko will be delighted too. Everyone raised their voices, and finally realised they’d won.
Everyone’s shouting, and they know they’ve won in the end. And so, Solution Tech Mini Fanty One Three. That was quite something, wasn’t it? The difference in the past, and finally, it was a matter of decisively winning the battle of wits. Still going strong. That was quite something. I’m changing it He’s got both legs and brains, hasn’t he? Technicante by Lorenzo Faltucci
Lorenzo Faltucci We have secured the second edition of this The Road Race Tokyo Ta 2025. Right then, and now the battle for fourth place. Sprint En is visible, but is that Sawada? 4th place, Elvi, boy. Nice to hear you speaking such good English. But we’re both quite something, aren’t we? Well, we both understand, don’t we? But that really was something. I couldn’t quite catch up, though. I saw Sarenko’s shadow, yes Well, as a Quarto, I was able to rest my legs, wasn’t I?
After all, as a quartet, we got to rest our legs, didn’t we? Well, in the end, Quarto’s sprint was rather strong, wasn’t it? Well, either way, I reckon Quartararo would have won. However Well, even as pro wrestling, at that point I had no choice but to flee. I hear you used your legs too. Yes, that’s right. Definitely, and well… But really, that team spirit and the makunouchi showed their strength, didn’t they? So in the end Baldich also properly found Sarenko. Yes. He made sound judgements to win, and the pull of the players to get here… Well, but in the end, yes, it was Pradas who took the win, with Shiro finishing here. That was impressive. Aren’t you coming over to the team? Yes, I told them they came first, didn’t I? No, it was all down to the players, wasn’t it? In that sense, it really is good. It seems rather splendid, doesn’t it? Generous applause. No, it’s brilliant. What a splendid run that was. That was a perfect play too. Well, it was a race without radios, wasn’t it? Yes, that’s right. And Araki’s helmet, with its cat emblem and pedal-operated mechanism, was also… Mr Watanabe Ko must be delighted too. That’s rather nice, isn’t it? If only that arm had a bit more strength in it This time, I’ve had it become a Neko-Kobari-en, and I’m watching it now. They were saying something about it coming from behind, weren’t they? Everyone, the plate is shaking. This is Fletcher. Right. And no, but really, it’s just all over the place, isn’t it? It was a good race on the inside course where true ability came to the fore. Yes, that’s right. The number of customers, no, the leasing company. You’d think this is the Tour de France too, wouldn’t you? It’s no different from the Tour’s finish. No, it might be more than that. Both are near the station, you see. I expect many local residents came out too. Cycling fans would have gathered too. Yes This is it, you see. Well, you see, there’s simply no space left for people to occupy. There’s simply no more room left on the pavement. If you go any further back, you won’t be able to see it anymore. Brilliant Yes, the Chen-Scher team, Abe-san, and then we’re waiting for one more person, aren’t we? Ginza Cola. Right then, yes. We were waiting for one more person. I knew it would hit. Now we’re all here, aren’t we?
All present and accounted for, then. And Balmer, Sbaral, and Salenko It also meant that all six completed the race. That day, footage was being broadcast in front of Kobe Station. No, I was already strong. I mean, really, I was running like someone who knew road racing inside out. Well, you see… The only world division Well, as the superior team, yes, that was it. But you know, it was brilliant. Well, that’s just how it is. Now, thinking about it normally, he too… After all, the Fischensal team, despite being 41 years old, did give us a hard time, didn’t they? This Solution Tech, then… Solution Tech could have won that one if they’d been a bit more careless. Well, it was the Hawaii scenario, so conversely, if it hadn’t been a positive… The race for dominance in the upper echelons of solution tech is shaping up rather nicely, isn’t it? Or midway through, VC Fukuoka found themselves juggling difficulties with both hands. The Japanese player managed to reset, or rather adjust, effectively. On top of that, the playmaker must push forward decisively. Each team functioned well too, and this is what it is, you see. The vision at the crossroads was like a team car holding area, and within this… And then we’ll re-tune it, you see. I don’t think it’s meant for this tournament, though. Well, it’s turned out to be a decent venue, hasn’t it? Is this still the show on our featured professional site? And it’s still coming, isn’t it? They came in a large group. Right, easy to get here, ah yes, properly dried. Genki, the player. During that break period, this location—Omiya Station front—is now… I am looking down upon it below. Today, it’s Kōya Araki’s turn, you see. Truly, being able to savour his driving like this is a real treat and a joy for us Japanese fans too. Yes I imagine those who saw it here were thoroughly satisfied, weren’t they? This is it. Hoshino’s masterful assist skills shone through brilliantly, and on top of that, Funsuri… Fourth-placed Sawada Itsuki, yes. He also took the King of the Mountains award. Well, he was splendid, wasn’t he? 300 wins and 4th place, after all.
330 wins and 4th place, you see. Well, I suppose we can manage it, can’t we? It seems this is Mr Imaoka’s voice, even without the match commentary. Yes, number three, that’s the one. Oh, they’re talking about this. Yes, that’s right. Mr Oka said he was keeping up well at first, and that’s how he got third place. He said he was strong, didn’t he? Orix’s… Ah, this is from the team, isn’t it? Mr Okada, Mr Hirose, well, human developments, as you say. Was it about whether you could ride the human wave or not? Yes Well, yes. That Oka player was also part of a breakaway at one point, but In the end, only Toki was in the winning breakaway. Zardrace Tokyo Tama 2025 Solution Tech Be Fanini’s Multicci seen
Zardrace Tokyo Tama 2025 Solution Tech Be Fanitini’s Multitch and implemented Sarenko came on at the end. That player, and even that player who happened to be there, you know. Today, we’ll be operating at the front. Shimano, everyone should be proactive overall, you know. It was the time before last. It’s alright to say it here, right? Hold on a minute, even I’d want to chill out at times like this, wouldn’t I? Bang bang, and finally full mo Today he showed us a tenacious drive. Truly worthy of a former Japanese champion. This is Victoire Hiroshima driving. As expected, all the finishers look rather hot. Well, it’s nearly noon now, and the temperature must be rising. It should be rising, I suppose. Right then, after this, the plan is to have interviews and an awards ceremony, I believe. Well, whilst we’re waiting for the post-race presentation, here’s Bridgestone. I’m exhausted. I ran a 133-kilometre race. Still plenty more to go This is also that tight one, VC Fukuoka, isn’t it? Plassard, who was shown in France just now, showed tremendous tenacity. Well, it’s a gathering place for cheetahs, isn’t it? Luo Jiang hasn’t finished yet. It doesn’t seem like the last rider yet. No, the second time. It was the second time in two years, but on this day too… I hope it continues to grow steadily. And today’s race also made me feel that I hope it becomes a world-class event. Yamamoto Genki Well, Yamamoto was moving well. Thank you. Yes, that’s right. He was quite active in the first half, but the second half was a bit too fast, as expected. Perhaps I was overcome by the heat today. Yes Three more athletes finish Well done From behind, this is VC Fukuoka’s Haruo Honda, you see. He certainly did a splendid job, didn’t he? His pursuit is good for Grady too. This is a player from the Ruzha team, isn’t it? Yes It was already so hot I’d unbuttoned the front Well, this really is growing more and more every year. It’s a race I hope will become a world-class event. Yes, that’s right. Well, this course really is a pace course that offers plenty to see, you see. If this were held annually as a regular fixture, that would be quite something. Conversely, even just this lap course alone… I think it’s a truly compelling race to watch, so probably I reckon the initial line alone will cost quite a bit. Japanese racing is truly something else, but that’s to be expected when you’re up against the French. This Japan, well… It’ll take a while until they come out in greater numbers from the centre. The money and preparations are quite different, so yes. Using the Champs-Élysées in Paris might be easier. Right then, yes. Well, it looks like we’ll have a good interview. Please. Well then, we’ve won. Solution Techni Fantini’s Cuertocchi
Solution Technifanti’s Cuertocchi Regarding your victory in the race in Japan, please share your current thoughts. It’s the Comedy Centre. Yes, Bi, that Victoriaaa, yes. First and foremost, I’m absolutely delighted. Well, personally I’m absolutely chuffed, and then there’s the fact it’s a team victory too. I’m absolutely chuffed. Well, this race was also my first time competing in Japan. It feels very special. As a team, we’re always pushing members forward What team orders did you go into today’s race with? Oh my goodness Yes, this was originally according to plan. That someone from that team would always have one rider in the leading group.
that someone from that team is always in the leading group. We were discussing it as a team. and I believe we managed to do just that. I’m very pleased it went so well. Towards the end, it became a two-man breakaway. Furthermore, a teammate was chasing from behind. I believe that was the situation. What sort of plan did you run with towards the end? Camera allergy to piano LaLasponsor Yes Well, everything went according to plan throughout. Well, for that team, the goal was simply to win. For the team, and also for the sponsors, it was about securing that victory.
for the team and for the sponsors. was our primary objective. The plan was that any team member could win. I’d particularly like to thank Shinjo for communicating during the race. When the two of us caught up with that leading group, I felt I was the one who… I asked if it would be alright for me to make the move, given my better condition. I’m just so full of gratitude for that cooperation. Finally, please share a message for your Japanese fans. First and foremost, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude. Well, I I could really feel that you were welcoming my team. Once again, thank you very much. I wish to convey my congratulations to Mr. Quartoci. Thank you. Well, how about the championship, sir? Well, yes. That team really came to win. Seriously, Japanese racing I really felt how much it meant that you came to collect it. Right then, let’s get on with it. It looks like we’ll be able to get an interview with Mr Shiro too. Right then, Mr Tatsu, over to you.
Please, Mr Tatsu. Right then, we’ve also welcomed Shinjo-san to join us. First off, well done on the race. Well done Right then, first off, today’s result for the team is one fish. Right, first off, my honest thoughts on today. Well, we did what we said we’d do, though it was just by chance, yes. Well, you know. But today’s goal was still to produce a winner from the team, after all. Well, it really was great whoever won. The way it unfolded… well, it was a situation where anyone could have won. Right from the first half, without that mistake, our team was definitely in the running to pull ahead. With over ten riders in the breakaway, having two of us in there meant the flow was already incredible. The momentum was with the good team, and then, well, at the end, I got into a breakaway of ten or fewer riders. and then from behind, Kaka-to-nai caught up, and then, well… Well, it was our winning pattern, but you know, Benjamin Plus was there, so… Well, I thought it would be a contest with him, but… eh? During the breakaway, that cut and talking… he said he wanted to go on the climb with two laps to go, so well… From that climb, I pulled at a good pace, putting everyone in a bit of a tough spot. Before that, it was flat too. shaving it down and all, and he made a brilliant attack, well… After that, I’m not quite sure who it was, but I didn’t see it, you see. One person caught up with me just as I was lagging behind, so well… From our perspective, we were definitely facing a numerical advantage, and… The development was already perfect. Mr. Quartis expressed his gratitude to Mr. Shiro quite frequently. What are your thoughts on that point? No, it was already at the Tour of Thailand at the start of this year, wasn’t it? Well, he’s already won it, you see. That was his first professional win, after all. Well, even then, I was still assisting him the whole time, well… He was on the overall podium too, so in that respect That trust had already been established from the previous race. and today, you see, no matter what, well… Our real goal was to win, that was one goal. And well, having achieved that, he himself was in good form, and well… The Italian Championships were held two weeks ago, you see. Well, about 23 people for 20 lines, I suppose. He’s in, and he’s been in good form recently, so well, he was the one today at the end. he wanted to make a push for the win, aiming to make his move in the final two weeks. Well, I trusted him on that too. Well, that’s it. As far as possible, up to that point. I feel like I’ve done my job as best I could. And to be able to see Arakagi’s running at this time of year in Japan, this…
and to witness Arakagi’s running at this time of year in Japan is quite a special thing, I think. How did you find it when you were running yourself? It was my first time. It’s been so long since I’ve been in Japan, hasn’t it? I’ve been going to Europe for over 20 years I’d only ever returned to Japan in June for the All Japan Championships, but from now on… This is the first time I’ve stayed for a whole month, and well, I must say… How on earth do you train with that rhythm? That was rather difficult, wasn’t it? Well, running like this in front of everyone is really wonderful, and well, at first, you know… Ori and the same course, so when I hear that voice saying ‘from that eternal path’, That, well, it brought back memories of the time of the Olympics, you see. Well, truly, even during the rally, the sheer volume of support gave me strength. Finally, quite a large number of viewers are watching this race. Please send your messages. Yes, well… Thank you ever so much for watching from so early in the morning. Yes, absolutely. I believe the results were probably as you expected. Well, of course. Come to a strong team and win the Japanese race.
to join a strong team and win races in Japan. And you know, it really stimulates the Japanese teams too. What is it? Do you want to give them a boost? Is that what you mean? Don’t forget that this is the level for Europe. I was hoping you’d keep up the hard work with your training from now on. Well… The fact that you all got to see that live like this… I reckon you can see the entire race unfold like this. This, you see, is something the riders should watch and learn from. And also, a race that will delight our viewers. I’d like to do that in Europe too.
I’d like to do it in Europe again Thank you very much. Well done And congratulations. Thank you very much. That was Arashi Yusuke. Yes, thank you, Shin-san. Right, I see. A month. Well, it’s a bit of a luxury, but we’re really chuffed, aren’t we? Well, this year’s schedule for Mr. Shea… well, he’s transferred to Solution Tech, and… From the very start of his move, well, the Japanese races… He had stated that he wanted to compete in all the UC races, you see. Well, it’s not just about actually competing, you see. It’s about delivering results like this, every single race. Aye, the athlete came along. See you later. He really showed us what a professional runner looks like. Hurry up.
Hurry I’ll be listening to Player B’s interview. Well done, Taro Imajō. Reflecting on today’s race, what are your thoughts? Well, I was a bit unsettled from the start today. That escape involved repeatedly going and getting caught. Well, I had a feeling it would be a rough race pretty much from the start. So, well, my teammate also moved really well for me. and I thought I’d go ahead of them. Just as I was thinking I’d make sure to check it properly, the escape came in. It just so happened that the rear car stopped, resulting in a decisive outcome. Well, over about 15 years, each team had been riding cleanly, so and well, I thought, ‘Right, let’s go then’, with that determination to break away. Right from the start, I was determined to break away and stay ahead. and it turned out that way. After all, the climb was tough once we entered that week. Somehow I need to muster the strength there. At a steady pace, or rather, not to overuse that area, that sort of cover-up I was running with the conscious effort to somehow hold on. Well, in the last two laps, it was quite an uphill stretch, and the leading contenders launched their attacks. The peloton gave chase, and the group sort of… and it became a battle of attacks, but at that point, well, I managed to overtake quite far ahead. On that climb, I felt I still had quite a bit of strength left. In the end, on the descent, they caught up from behind again. The truly strong contenders simply pulled away and stayed ahead. Well, I got caught in the back group, so I thought, “Blimey, they’re strong from the pack, aren’t they?” For the final lap, I reckoned sprinting from that compacted group would be the best strategy for me. Well, keeping the split in mind, well, just hang on in there. Well, somehow managing to bluff my way through and forcing a sprint finish. Well, I lost to Sawada in the bunch sprint, but finishing second was… well, in my own mind… I reckon I gave it my all. Yes, upon reviewing your own movements, you’ve concluded that you performed quite well. Well, there are plenty of players stronger than me, so I… I was told to try not to use as much strength as possible, like the other players. There are parts where it becomes a bit of a problem, though. Well, well, I do have the team to consider, after all. I’ll do my utmost to bring back the points. I did what I could, keeping that in mind. Yes How would you like to link this race to the next one? Well, yes. That one-day race where that single-digit finish was achieved It’s been quite a while since I scored points too. Well, I suppose I’ve regained a bit of confidence, you see. That style of trying to break away and stay ahead was my forte, you see. Well, it was good to recall that feeling of encouragement after so long. I suppose I really do like running away, and I do think I’d like to keep aiming for the breakaway again in future. Yes, thank you for your hard work. Thank you very much. Yes, indeed. I’m extremely satisfied with the continuity. I see. Of course, I think I wanted to win. Well, but the entry point around the escape route’s entry point You know, he really showed his true colours in that moment. It’s been a while since he scored points like that, hasn’t it? I’m sorry Well, there were many strong players today, so yes. Well, once in the final championship race, the Tokyo 2025 Show, you know. Yes, Solution Tech. The rest were strong too, but the sprints as well. He certainly possessed a solid foundation. Yeah. It was the moment of the Faltet Award. The results once again. Valducci takes the win. This is the provisional result. Wins with a race time of 2 hours 46 minutes 29 seconds Second place went to Talent Sai, and the shock of that result was felt by Sawada, the one-three finisher. Imamura It has been decided that it will be Betlskvota Yamamoto.
Betluskobota Yamamoto Kubota did his best too, didn’t he? After all that work, it’s true, isn’t it? Checkout is amazing Adaptation seems to finish almost simultaneously with the surgery, doesn’t it?
It seems to be finished almost along with the surgery. And it was a German group, wasn’t it? Here are the provisional top ten End, eh? The Kubota supporters will be delighted, won’t they? Get that goal in, eh? In a way, today also featured Kubota-san, didn’t it? The person in charge will be the tournament, won’t they? Is that so? I’d like to give it to you, alright alright Once more, the moment of the finish from this vantage point above.
Once more, the moment of the finish from this vantage point. Even at Faltetsch, watching today, yes, this I reckon quite a few people wanted to see it in person next time, didn’t they? Well, yes. Not yet. That shoot announcement too. It’s the inaugural News Arease tournament, after all. Yes, somehow it hadn’t reached everyone yet. This… probably because we did it once, yes. so it becomes thicker. Yes, right Well, they’ve gathered just for this, haven’t they? That uphill section, for instance, will see plenty of future customers, you see. We can even anticipate it becoming packed like sardines. Yes Well, in Japan, the Japan Cup Utsunomiya race is still the premier road race, isn’t it? Well, it’s a bit of a mess. Somehow this circuit has the potential to become the next Utsunomiya Japan Cup. doesn’t it? Yeah It’s underground at the station, isn’t it? Yes, you can also get there by train. Right then, the screen changes. Is this the official location? Well, in Japan, we do hold races in Utsunomiya. Our voices were audible. Not within the venue, you see. To all of you, the residents of the neighbourhood, thank you very much. Well, this is now, yes, that’s right. We are delivering it, but yes, even at the venue now, everyone is saying it’s long. Are you enjoying yourselves? I’m suddenly feeling rather embarrassed, so I’m doing this. I see. Right, right. Ah, so it’s playing at the venue too. I thought I recognised that voice, but it’s actually my own. Well then. Awaiting the commencement of the awards ceremony. It really is redevelopment, isn’t it? The area is just… Ome Station appears towards the back of the screen, doesn’t it? It’s also the area where the Ōme Marathon takes place, so well, as a location, you know. That culture of sporting activities and sporting events, you see. is a place that already exists. I can sense the potential. We are currently awaiting the commencement of the awards ceremony. I understand it will be held on the stage in front of Ōme Station. We’re waiting now to prepare for that award ceremony, but well… Looks like another interview is coming up. Please First of all Thank you very much The King of the Mountains classification, and he became the highest-placed Japanese rider. But first, to finish the race, I’d appreciate your honest response to the current results. Well, I hadn’t really intended to target that mountain classification before the start, but… Well, while I was riding, I suppose there was an opportunity to break away. That worked out well, and actually, I’d previously missed out on the King of the Mountains award once during a time trial. Well, I suppose I got that frustration out of my system. Yes, as the last player, yes, while on the other hand, regarding the highest position, well… I hadn’t really been aware of the highest-ranked Japanese player. Well, this race, that… We’ll get the points, and well, it’s for the prize money, so for the team’s sake, I thought we should try to get one place higher. Well, I’ve been feeling pretty confident in the sprints lately. I managed to get over that final climb, so I went for it. Yes Today, I found myself thinking that my fingers just wouldn’t settle into position from above during the opening stages. I was conscious of that. Even when something incredible happens as a team, it’s about that rest, isn’t it? After all, with Solution Tech and such, they have that professional team, so Well, if they let the person they went after escape, they probably wouldn’t catch them, would they? We were discussing it as a team, so well, that initial… The breakaway my teammate joined was almost successful, but But just as they were caught, a really strong group got away instead. and we were able to ride that wave, so well… To put it nicely, it would have been better if one more person could have boarded from the pudding, but well I reckon it’s the result of us all managing to deploy without falling behind. What’s for dinner today? The fact that there’s actually nothing left. I suppose so. Given those figures, an average of 6%… I thought it would be quite a steep incline. Well, as I suspected from the test run, the gradient itself packs quite a punch. Well, it was a very tough course indeed. But There are just so many people lining the roadside. and that gives me the strength to keep running. I really did think it was a rather splendid course. Yes, yes, in Japan.
Yes, yes Yes, with so many customers, it ended up like that. Yes, it seems to have left an impression on the suspension from running in those races. Right from the very start, at that starting point, there were an awful lot of people. rushed to the roadside to support us, well As a runner myself, it really lifts my spirits. Well, you know, road races on public roads are quite rare in Japan, It’s absolutely brilliant for the rider too, and well… I hope we continue to see races like this going forward. I believe that will also help revive interest in road racing. Yes, I think it was splendid. And today, not just along the route, but through that broadcast too.
and through that broadcast. Our fans in New York are watching. Right then, the final National Police Agency, yes Thank you so much for your support from that early morning. Well, personally, I still have the All-Japan Championships and mountain biking next week, so… I intend to give it my best shot for those events. Today has given me a boost, so I intend to keep striving forward. Well done today. Thank you Thank you very much Yes, that’s right. Three players, splendid. Participants, yes. Today, you see…
Yes, that’s right. Yes, three players. Well done. Participants, yes. Today, you see… He really seemed to be in top form, didn’t he? Well, it was also in front of that perfect microphone, after all. I really do think it’s quite a challenge juggling three roles at once. He was carrying that nice case, wasn’t he? Right, right. He took the King of the Mountains while finishing fourth. But he did say that the cheers from so many spectators really gave him strength, didn’t he? Yeah, well, Utsunomiya Blitzen’s real home race is the Japan Cup, isn’t it? It’s the race that draws the biggest crowds in Japan, the big race, yes, that’s how it is. Even for them, today… I think it was a race where you could really feel the excitement building. It really is so close to the station, you see. This is the one, isn’t it? Is this the podium? Is it really opposite the station building? But please take the train, won’t you? It’s a shame I can’t see the awards ceremony in person, but it’s nice to be able to watch the race. And when they hear our voices there, I think they might just fall completely silent. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for watching. And everyone, the podium is… The podium for the Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025 is still visible. Routie has vanished, hasn’t he? And then there, we’re not just a little bit, but we’re about to fall completely silent. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for watching. Eh? An infinite loop of my own voice… it feels a bit strange, doesn’t it? Yes Well, I wonder when the awards ceremony will start. That was Sawada being interviewed earlier. apparently right by the Tokyo Stock Exchange participants’ waiting area. Well, we’re just waiting for the players to gather before we start, I suppose. Yes, this is just before the awards ceremony. Ah, really? Sir, is this… a drone? The first one, I suppose. It’s a drone. I wonder when that award ceremony will begin. The station building was quite open, and the athletes were being interviewed. You can see the train stopped too, but this is usually a roundabout. It might be a place where taxis and such wait. Here, you see. Yes, this is where the award ceremony will take place.
Yes, this is where the award ceremony will be held. Ah, really? Sir, is this a drone? Yes, it is a drone. Well, that child can be seen too. Well, the sight of all these customers waiting for the awards ceremony… It’s the kind of thing you’d always see shown at the Tour de France or other world-class races, wouldn’t you say? Everyone, wave your hands towards the camera. Please, everyone, wave your hands. I think the camera’s on the right hand, so… Oh, it’s switched over. Right. Right then, before the start of the awards ceremony, you see… Let’s look back at the highlights of this race. Spectators awaiting the awards ceremony. Using that as a starting point, right? Here we are before the start. Right then, the bell has rung. Starting with the guest rider in the lead It was early this morning But it’s true, isn’t it? Right, right. At the 3-kilometre race venue, it was a good start to begin with. Right then, right then. First, when I saw this guest rider… From the parade run, this was just after crossing the bridge, wasn’t it? We had just reached the Adishal start. From Akiyama’s first fan, it’s heading straight towards the five-year mark. didn’t he The attacks just kept coming, didn’t they? Yeah, about twelve people came out. The All Japan Championships are over too, you see. Well, it seems the breakaway that included all teams just wouldn’t quite take hold. Well, it felt like every time it looked set to form, it got smashed. Very well. The sprint point at Minami-Osawa is for the second rider, but that’s correct. He was the first to pass through. First place secured And The following vehicles also appear to be visible behind the group. Then, after being absorbed once, a new leading group of 14 riders formed, with Shima also joining here. So, yes, immediately after the long, fairly high-speed breakaway was absorbed. And then, as Ome was drawing near, The group must have settled down for a moment, I suppose. And the second sprint open is just right. Trendler’s loss here stands out. From here we enter the circuit course, and now it’s March here, isn’t it? I believe it’s just about to return to ‘no’. It’s finally the unknown circuit course, isn’t it? He said it was tough, didn’t he? Yes, on the course, the first mountain comment was Sawada passing at the top and adding 5 points. Sawada also topped the second one, adding another 5 points for a total of 10 points. And we’ve received your response. Right then, we’re heading towards the third mountain point. From where Shiro increased the pace, Kualic and Baltić launched their attack. This is precisely why I told the riders to go there. There were times like that too. It was a plus that Baldocchi kept up with the pace increase. at Baldocchi takes first place, Sawada third place, securing one point each, making this 11 points. These two were strong, weren’t they? From now on, it’s pretty much just the two of us travelling together. This is Chipura. The aquarium took quite a while to come together, didn’t it? Yes, the back saw some frantic back-and-forth play, and there were moments where we rather shot ourselves in the foot. The final March of the fourth period saw the positive result fall short of the top. Ethilenko finished third This means Sawada has secured the King of the Mountains with 11 points, and it was two riders going for it. One point of interest was whether Tsurenkō would come from behind or not. This was it, wasn’t it? I realised it was different here. Strategically, you know, the monthly position is… It was a game of give and take, wasn’t it? I said I’d catch up. Chalenko didn’t quite manage to catch up, though. In the final sprint finish, Bach Even if I’d won this wrestling match, I gave up partway through. However, this race was won splendidly at the Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025. In the end, it was a race that decisively secured victory. Challengo’s pursuit from his teammate was rather good, wasn’t it? Yes, it’s not that I won by using it. It was splendid, wasn’t it? It was the ace’s highlight moment, knowing that Harashiro had won here too. Honestly, the talk was about gratitude towards the players, but it was a truly splendid scene. Right then, let’s get started. It seems the awards ceremony is about to begin. The Mountain Prize awards. First up is the King of the Mountains award. The King of the Mountains classification has been determined. Mountains awarded 531 points to the first three riders through the point in order of passage. As for watching it live on site, well… Yes, that’s right. Well, this course itself, you know, yes, well, it was my first time, but, yes. That’s it then. I thought it might be a good idea for those who, like Mr Sashi, said they’d like to go next year too. So, the mountain passes and key points are likely to be packed like sardines, I imagine. That’s exactly right. Also, if I see this, I’d like to go and see the overseas teams too. I reckon they would.
I suppose so. I thought they might not have come to watch, but rather to get out. What do you think? Well, you see… The location is also good, and in that sense, going forward I sensed the potential for it to become a race we can proudly present to the world. Also, those Japanese spectators lining the route… They know cycling races well and have good manners. Absolutely brilliant I do think we could have promoted that tournament like this to the players as well. Well, not just for cycle race fans, but probably for anyone cycling… I imagine many people in India were watching today, even those unfamiliar with cycling. In that sense, it does lead to further expansion. Yes, I believe it’s a race with that potential. The station front area has also wrapped up a bit, you see. Yes, somehow… That post-festival feeling was really coming through just now. The speed of the dismantling was splendid too. That’s exactly right. Yes, that’s exactly how everyone sees it from that perspective. The time for farewells is drawing near. And so, yes, the winner of the Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025 is… It turned out to be just like that. The commentary was provided by Mr Osamu Kurimura. Thank you very much indeed. Thank you very much. We have sent the lesson. Yes, thank you very much indeed for watching for such a long time from this morning. Until we meet again. Goodbye.
