プロジェクト47 第7話 | 宮崎 – 宮崎神宮、チキン南蛮、海岸キャンプ
Japan is a unique country made up of 47 prefectures. My goal is to ride them all. This is Project 47. [Music] Hello and welcome. My name is Adam and in this episode of Project 47, we come to you from the beautiful Miyazaki prevention, Japan’s answer to Southern California. But it’s not all about surfing here. There’s a lot more to see and explore. Let me show you what I mean. [Music] Wow. Come on. [Music] I said it, baby. I know you’re on the road. Sweet honey, let’s take it real soon. You know we got what you need, baby. So take it alone. [Applause] I said we got what you need, honey. Come and move along. Come on. Okay, guys. We’re in Mazaki Prefecture now. and uh let’s go to the map and show you where we’re going. Okay, so we’re going to start down here just on the south side of Miyazaki City and shoot straight up the coast, stopping along the way at a few cool spots before cutting inland to the uh western border of Miyazaki up in the mountains. Checking out some towns up there, a few historical sites, coming right back down through the mountain ranges all the way to the very south down here to Cape Toy, which is the most southernly tip of Miyazaki before heading right back up to where we started at Alshima. Should be a pretty cool trip. We’ve got about four days, I think. Weather looks like it’s going to be nice and sunny, although it’s going to get cold. We’ve got some really cold weather coming in. But it’s going to be fun. So, let’s get to it. First stop is down to Miyazaki Shrine. Let’s go. Heat. Heat. Located in the heart of Miyazaki city is Miazaki Shrine. [Music] Walking under the vermilion gates in the morning light is a serene experience as you approach the go in ginger. [Music] A long straight walkway leads you towards the main shrine or honden. Along the way, you can enjoy the forest, feed the koi in the pond, and just immerse yourself in the beautiful tranquility of the shrine. The shrine is dedicated to Japan’s first emperor Jimmu and as such plays an important role in Japanese history. Great effort has been made to maintain the historical accuracy of the shrine and as such it feels like you’re entering a time machine. [Music] I decided to hit the road and head north. The road between Miyazaki city and the northern city of Huga is not overly exciting. And the weather forecast called for an intensifying of the winds throughout the afternoon. I figured I’d just make tracks and head north to avoid the wind before it got too strong. Maybe get to my campsite a little early. I was getting kind of hungry and I heard about this place up the coast called Kaneama Chopor. Apparently the food was epic and the view equally so Okay, so found a nice restaurant. We’re going to have the local delicacy which is called chicken nan. Wow. Day one’s going real good so far. All right, let’s dig in. So, this is chicken na. That is excellent. All right. So, I think what we’re going to do now is we’re going to head up to this uh really cool shrine by the beach. Looks kind of cool. I haven’t actually been there before, so it’ll be new for me. The wind’s insane today, so I may head to the campsite a little earlier. Just kick back and have a rest. I think it’s going to be a lot better tomorrow windise anyway. Morning. [Music] [Music] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. [Music] Heat. Heat. The wind is howling, but it’s detected down here a little bit, so should be good. Just decided uh get here early, get set up, and uh yeah, get some resting. It was a It was a long day in that wind, I’ll tell you what. But we’re here now, so let’s get it set up. The wind continued to intensify, just casting all kinds of branches and debris at my tent. So, exhausted and reluctantly, I moved my tent to another spot. A little more exposed, but not getting hit by debris. And then just like that, it stopped.
