ウェナッチーからシアトルまで自転車で行くのに失敗した

I’m going to ride my bike home from Wachi to Seattle. One mile. 10 miles in. Still feeling great. My navigating software said that this was a forest road. This is a mountain bike trail. Man, what I can ride is incredibly beautiful and fun. Oh my gosh, that’s just straight down. There’s a road right there. Who would have thought that a gravel road would feel so good? So, I am 3 hours in. I think I’m going to get to go downhill be pretty soon. I was wrong. Uphill again. Yeah. No, I’m on the road. It’s 34% here. Well, the trail’s now a creek. Oh my god. This is not where I expected to be, but it’s very pretty. Well, I found a forest run, so that’s a good sign. All right, I’m about 4 and 1/2 hours in and I’ve gone 25 miles. Going downhill is fun. Oh, pavement. 50 mi. 70 miles in. I’m not doing well. Just a throw up. My second wing. I am done.

I attempted to ride 175 miles through the mountains from Wenatchee to Seattle.

I have had this idea in the back of my mind for a few years and had a chance to go for it. But, I didn’t make it. I made some errors in my map-making, so a few hours at the start were hike-a-bike through the mountains instead of riding gravel rides. That meant I didn’t focus on nutrition as well as I should and I ran out of water. I then tried to make it up with a big lunch, but that upset my stomach. I threw up at mile 72, but then found my second wind before calling it a day at mile 109.

Distance: 109 miles
Elevation: 9100 feet climbing

This isn’t going to be a route I necessarily need to do again, but was a good test in riding. Now on to new adventures.
