BoB 22, (Breakfast on Bike) Tour of the town & Chill Inn

Hey, good morning guys. Welcome back to the channel. You join me 29th of July. It’s about 11:30 in the morning and I’ve got time for a quick breakfast on the bike. So, I’m a bit a bit late with this one. Let me show you where I am. Right opposite.com, which really is just a shadow of its former self. And uh yeah, I’ve had I’ve had some car issues last week and and this week, so haven’t been out as much as I would have hoped. So, let me uh take you around the town and we’ll go somewhere right in the middle of soybe and grab their breakfast which is on at 99 bat till midday. So, I’ll make it. Come on. So, it is 11:32. I get my mic sorted here. Yeah, the ceasefire was meant to start last night at midnight and already reports are kind of indicating uh there’s still a little bit of shelling going on. They’re saying from the Cambodian side, but I kind of take news by pinch of salt here. That’s us soy bow. So it is Tuesday. So this is this is like the busier day here. It’s market day. [Music] Yeah. my last my last two nighttime videos, my microphone didn’t connect. It was totally my fault. So, my apologies. You still get to get a look around the town without having to listen to my moans. [Music] Yep. You okay? Yeah. Good. Always need somebody when I’m out and about. tower. Yeah, the town seems extra busy and my MS informs me a lot of people that have kind of got away from the uh the zones that are affected by this military action. They are a lot of them have come here. There’s absolutely zero risk of any weapons being fed at P. Somebody was like, I’m scared to go to Phuket. And and the person replied to them, Phuket is as far from the front lines as UK is from Ukraine. Get on your plane. Yeah. So try to see the temperature here. Time 11 Oh, 11:35 and 41°. Daytime in the town generally very quiet, but it’s nice to have a look all the nighttime. You know what would be the nighttime areas normally for me is uh during the day. I always see up here very busy at night when I drive in. Yes. So I was in two mines for uh breakfast on the backard. I noticed that Jimmy at the Inferno Bar had started doing breakfast. They start at 10:00 and uh and then something came up and it was chill in, you know. [Music] So, uh up until midday they’re doing the breakfast for 99 B. So being a true Scotsman and always up for a bargain. Yeah, we’ve done in there dynamite. And as you can see, traffic in Bau during the day is just as usual. [Music] Hello crap. Think the massage ladies are kind of desperate for customers just now. Holy crap. That’s more like a tapa massage. The exchange rates aren’t any. Yeah. I mean, Starmer goes to the toilet in the UK. The pound drops. Thailand, they have a they have a conflict. Look at it. British pound 43, American dollar 3225. It’s actually up a little bit. Euro 3730 and Australian dollar 20.86. Yeah, I don’t normally do the exchange rates on these rides cuz I’ve got to edit because of the eating part, but I’m going to try and edit it smartly. Which way will I go? I ain’t I ain’t going to miss my 99 bat. So, I will be there for midday. [Music] I have no idea how much it cost normal. I I will try and show you. Sorry, Diana. And you can see still a lot of uh renovating on the go. And uh yeah, Roy Roy Moxley, he he’s a expat that lives here. And uh my last video I did I did mention that there’s a new bar complex going in where um Space Aong used to be. I’ll get over here to the right. Um they’re building Maggie May’s uh beer garden and it’s like 12 bars in LK Metro different during the day. 12 bars and uh they weren’t a high buy in and the rents a little bit harder. I think I think the rent includes your electric and everything as well. So, I did put a link in the description uh the last video to show that people could go and read up on it if they wanted. I think they’ve all sold. So, yeah. the people you see walking about with them boxes over their shoulder, you know, like look thin briefcases, wooden. They’re selling the uh lottery. Normally the 1st and the 16th of the month that lottery gets drawn. I personally am not a big fan of lottery. Especially Tai water. I think it’s got the worst odds going [Music] I noticed uh one one one channel, right? They’re doing a live stream and they’re doing it from lots of cities. You know what they’ve done? They just put up they just link into the CCTV. You know that the link is in the description of my my nighttime videos. And they use that for the live their live stream. No talking, no nothing. Just there’s a view. So, save you watching adverts and all that kind of stuff. Just just go into one of the video links I put up and you’ll see you can you can pick the the the camera you want to watch in time. Yeah. Tree time during the day. Absolutely deserted. As you can see, it’s open to traffic. Yeah, people said, “Why don’t you go in there and do a review?” And my only issue is they’re Google reviews. They say that they’re they’re rubbish. Come on. Try to move my camera for you. Oh, there it goes. Look, it’s got a mind of its own now. Okay. Apologies. Doesn’t help. I can’t see a bloody thing. Is it nearly there? There we go. Yeah, you never missed anything. It is totally deserted. Nothing open. Danny’s uh last day tomorrow. That Danny’s sports bar there. It closes 30th. This place here obviously doesn’t open during the day. I think pretty much tree time during the day is null and void. Take you the little cut through so I made in Thailand which is where this bar complex’s got to be. I’ll show you again this time with a bit of narrative that you can hear. [Music] Yeah. So, space abilong, it it’s not being knocked down. It’s being converted. And I’m sure it’s a a joint collaboration between the owner and Steve. So this will be it here. Total of 12 bars once it’s all complete. [Music] There we go. Health and safety at work. He did have on trainers. Normally it’s flipflops. Yeah. [Music] Broken. 11:44. Got 16 minutes. Oh, stop. Dog came jumping out there. I can I can feel the goosebumps running down my legs. Well, I hope it’s goosebumps. I don’t know. I know what you’re thinking. What color is adrenaline with our spoons? Got a good crowd in as usual. help. [Music] I should try and get into this bit of town more often. You know, very popular park. God, the bikes are a bit madness. [Music] I don’t turn around. See, this is going to end up costing me a premium, but it’s almost at the end of Syria C. Okay. Yeah, there was a a video on Bangkok about how much it’s costing and you know it’s um they were showing massages you know like leg massage 400 back and even my this is Scott Bangkok the prices are just they’re pretty much double what for my size. There was uh there’s quite a few comments about uh prices of why people are leaving and going to Vietnam. Now I’ve never been to Vietnam. I can only tell you what I you know what I see on probably YouTube most of my kind of viewing. But there’s a there’s a business guy there. I think he’s got 130,000 uh subscribers and he was like like Vietnam and he’s a Vietnamese vlogger. Yeah. And he he did say he says, “Look, everyone that comes to Vietnam, 5% come back. People that go to Thailand about 95% return.” I’m sure he just made up their figures. But it is pretty much the case. You know, people keep coming back here whether it costs slightly more or not. So, here we are chilling. Oh, and they’re nice and quiet. So, let me take you in for breakfast. Yeah. Well, time I put my camera up, breakfast arrived very, very quick. And as you can see, uh, you’re not allowed changes, but I said don’t get bother with tomato. Um, 99 B, two eggs, nice bit of bacon, big sausage, toast without bar, and beans. Yeah, for 10 B extra you can upgrade to a a capo lawn. So 109 B for everything you see there on the plate. And it’s just one of these days. It’s so hot. I am not hungry. Very warm here. I don’t know how long Chillin’s been here. A long time. I didn’t see the normal price of breakfast. I’ll I’ll put up on the screen there the the normal breakfast menu. Anyway, this is what they’re doing. 99 bath. I think of the the 99 B breakfast I’ve had so far. I think Nikki’s was pretty hard to beat. But here you’re get you’re looking out on the street. You know, you’re able to see there. Yeah. Is one of the issues here is the heat. It’s so hot. You’re like, “Yeah, I’m not hungry. Don’t get me wrong. Look, I’m I’m not exactly a slimmer of the year. I’m quite busy here. We’ll grab as well. A place directly opposite directly over there. Jollies. Never been in. There really is just so many places. I tend to go where just where I see advertised, you know, and uh if they’re willing to do, you know, some sort of some sort of promotion, try and get people in, then they’re obviously trying. Let’s give this this sausage a try. It does. It does look quite a herby one. I haven’t lost my bite today, but it’s parked. So, I’m about 5 ft from it. Yeah, the sausage is like a Cumberland one. Very, very good. Sausage and bacon. Usually the two most expensive things on the plate. I think I must have parked my bike in the grab slot. I would have said in the last 30 seconds that’s three grab bikes here. Yeah. So, I was talking about the that Vietnam blogger. I’ll put a link to his video in the description. And he was basically having a go with the Vietnamese government and saying, “Look, you’re you’re putting up all this uh thing about Thailand’s dead. Everyone’s coming to Vietnam.” He says, “But you need to tell the truth. I’m not making any comment about Thai government that um the last one I did where I was at cheap Charlie’s in John every night uh that Lonear bar I pass it about 5 5:30 when I’m walking my dog rammed every night rammed and what tends to happen is they get to know the girls they like the barrels. They stay there and they’re there pretty much the whole night. I’m sure what they what they don’t make in the beer profit, they make other sources. So, a lot of times they’ll put on, you know, things like ladies night, buy one get one free, blah blah thinking if they can get the ladies in, the guys will come in. But it works the other way around. If you get the guys in, the ladies will come in. Same same, but different. Yeah. So, there we go. 99 B breakfast. Chilling up till 12:00. And at today’s exchange rate, the one I showed you earlier, cappuccino breakfast, £253. If it got any cheaper, they’d be giving it away. Yeah, I watch a lot of eating channels. Typically in the UK, you know, Harrison Webb, Gary Eats, and some of the food they go for, you know, they’re I know they’re they’re usually buying for them and the cameraman, so they’re paying for two, but they’re going to like fast food places and 38 quid, 54 quid, 2.53. Yeah. So, enjoy your trip to Pat. Make sure you you sample lots of different places for breakfast. There’s so many. And I might not have been to your favorite yet, but I’m getting there. Why Film on a Bicycle

Traditional video makers tend to walk, which unless great care is taken, produces a bounce in the video footage. I find filming on a motorbike can be too fast, not allowing you to take in the scenery. The bicycle allows me to interact with people whilst providing smooth footage. If you find it is still too fast, then you can slow the video speed down to half speed, which will still be 30 frames per second.

Why doesn’t the footage look clear

Sometimes I make an error when shooting the video (but very rarely) The most common cause is that your internet connection on YT has set the resolution to below 4K, so check your settings.

Camera Equipment

Since starting the channel I have used my trusty DJI Osmo Pocket 2 (Creator combo)
The Combo comes with a Bluetooth microphone which has given great performance, even when riding at speed. I film at 4K & 60 frames per second, my light and ISO settings are on Auto. The Camera is strapped to my left wrist (so it might appear that I am close to things on the left). I control the Camera head via an application on my phone (Mimo), using my right hand Thumb. Action cameras to date, have smaller light sensors and are not competitive at present for low light filming.
