【60fps】ポートオーガスタ経由でアデレードを目指す。チャリ旅オーストラリア一周 /Adelaide via Port Augusta Bikepacking in Australia

Turn here. If you go left, you can go to Port Augusta. If you go straight, you can go to Rock and Port Lincoln. I’m going this way. A 72-year-old cyclist I met the other day said he went straight to Rock and then to the harbor. He said he was heading to Adelaide because he could take a boat from the harbor . He said he was taking a shortcut. I wondered if there was such information. If that’s possible, then hey, ah… I thought that too (laughs) I’m heading to Port Augusta. I’m going to go to Adelaide via Port Augusta. Yes, we’ve arrived in the city. Hmm? I wonder if there are fewer clothespins? Yes. It’s 6 o’clock now. There was a rest area with a bench earlier, but I skipped it. That’s because I have 20km to ride to arrive at today’s campsite, but it’s 6 o’clock now, so I have 1.5 hours to ride. 20km in 1.5 hours is just the right distance. Since it feels like we’re on the edge of not making it, I think it might be better to push myself a little and run without taking a break, so I’ll run to the campsite without taking a break. Yes. I managed to arrive. Um, what’s the name? Is it Ailwanknob? I’ll turn here. Okay. Anyway, I just passed by this area, and it’s mining. Well, it’s basically a gold mining site. So, there are probably no rest areas or places to camp, so I came to the campsite in this village. It seems like the campsite is based on a donation system, and it’s $10. I would have paid if I had to pay, but I don’t think there are any showers, so $10 just to pitch a tent and sleep seems a bit expensive to me, so I guess I’ll just go and see. It’s amazing. … It’s almost ghost tan. It’s amazing. There are cars and stuff, so there are people who live here, but I think they’re people who work at the mining site. It really feels like just a place to sleep. There’s no supermarket, no hospital, no police station, and I thought it might be an Aboriginal community, but it doesn’t really feel like that, so it’s more like a ghost town. Amazing. We’ve arrived. This is it. This is the free campsite in the village. Yes. So, I’m going to stay here tonight. I’m glad I got there. Exactly 7:30. I made it, I made it. The place to pitch the tent is already decided, and it ‘s here. It says tent area. It’s just this space. …But, this isn’t grass. It’s weeds. There’s some trash… is this trash? What? Isn’t this a campfire? This is trash. It ‘s quite a lawless area. So, this is what it looks like. Well, I’m grateful that I can pitch my tent. I’m grateful. I’m grateful. But… (laughs) Anyway, well, this weed looks soft, so I’ll sleep on it. I think I’ll pitch a tent. It’s about 50-60km to Port Augusta, so I can definitely get there today, get some food there, and then ride another 20-30km. I think 100km will be tough, but I’ll try to go as far as I can. Good morning. It’s now 9:20, and I’m ready to go , so I’ll set off. I probably won’t be able to ride that far today. I’m going inland now, but it’s a bit of a mountain road that goes up about 500m and then 300m, and there’s a strong wind, so I think I can probably ride no more than 80km today. Yeah. There’s a campsite at about 80km, and 70km, so I’m thinking I’ll be able to reach Adelaide in 4 more days , considering the time, so for now, well, I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’ll do it like that today. Well, this is me. Did I reach the top? Probably, probably… I probably reached the top. It’s 6-7km to the town . Ah, from here, that’s right. It goes down. It goes down. I reached the top. Yes. Yes . I arrived in the town. I wonder if there’s a cafe or something? Then I think I’ll take a break somewhere. I’ve already finished my break, so I’d like to ride after this, but it seems that there is a bicycle path, a cycling road, around here. Actually, it seems that Knote is the starting point. The cycling course from that town continues in this town. It’s called the “Mawson trail”. Yes. The Mawson trail is a rest point around here, and you can enter along the way, so I think I’ll ride a little. It seems to be there by chance , so I feel like I want to ride a little, and well, I don’t think I need to try to ride that much today, so I think I’ll try it out. I’m not going to ride the usual highway or the general road, but I’d like to ride a little on the cycling road, the Mawson trail, so I’m off. Yes. Oh, I think I’ve arrived at what I think is probably it . It looks like this. Hey, hey, hey, wait a minute. This isn’t it. No, seriously. Seriously, hey, is this it? Hey, this is it, less than 1km after entering this trail. (laughs) I’m worried about what’s ahead. No, it feels really good. Except for the strong wind. It would be very pleasant if there was no wind . And the ground is also… well, it’s really easy to run on. Well, on this road, I can run at 10km per hour now, and there are no cars. This is a place for walking and cycling only, so it’s very comfortable. Wow, there are a lot of star grass rolls. I thought these star grass rolls were for the cows. So I was thinking about buying ice cream or milk, but , uh, it seems there is a pretty famous horse racing track around Port Augusta, where I used to go ? It seems like there might be a pretty big horse racing track. And looking around here, there are quite a few horses, so this area might be famous as a mountain area that cultivates horse racing tracks . Yes. Well, it’s 7:20 now, so I managed to arrive at the campsite. Good, good. Well, I had already arrived around 7 o’clock, but I went to see the camp kitchen, and I checked out what the shower room was like, and I was a bit worried about where to pitch my tent, and that ‘s how I got to where I am now. It costs $10 to pitch a tent at this campsite , and $20 if you want an outlet . Well, what’s the point of using a power outlet? (laughs) I don’t need an outlet, there is one in the camp kitchen, and it seems like it would be fine to use it to charge my devices , so I’d like to relax there at night, eating a meal while charging my devices . Anyway, I’ve managed to ride about 70km and arrive at today’s destination, so I feel relieved. Well, I’ll sleep here tonight and ride again tomorrow , so first I’ll set up my tent and go to the camp kitchen.

こんにちは!世界中を自転車で旅している、ノマドのTakaです!
Hi!! I’m Taka, bicycle nomad. I have been traveling around the world.

まだまだ先が長いアデレードまでの距離。町や村を経由していくので、食料や水は問題ない。
青空の下で自転車に乗りながら見る素晴らしい景色、海外ならではのアート、これ以上幸せなことは無い。

There’s still a long way to go until Adelaide. Food and water won’t be a problem as we’ll be passing through towns and villages.
Riding my bike under the blue sky, enjoying the beautiful scenery and art that can only be found overseas, I couldn’t be happier.
