We finally take a sail in Japan with some friends, while our boat waits for us in California. We wanted to get right into season two, refining our Ingrid 38 sailboat. But we had a few great sailing trips during our time back home in Japan, so we thought it would be fun to share a bit with you all!
Let us know if you are interested in sailing in Japan in the comments! We would love to see some more cruisers in this amazing place. Japan just has so much to offer.
This time we are head to Yuge Island with our great friend and inspiration, Lowell Sheppard. We had heard so much about it, but didn’t expect to find such a magical place.

Heyy, it's Lowell. Glad to see he's okay. Great channel!
Of all the sailing channels over the years… NO one has featured Japan… Really good exposure… Well done…
Great job! I love Japan and sailing there has always been a dream. Thank you.
We're a family with a small 35ft sailing a catamaran in the SF Bay that we plan to bring back slowly to Korea via Japan. Would love to connect!
Say hello to Sailing Sea of japan if you can … he's a Wharram 🗿 Islander 🏝️ owner and has a familly out there. It looks spectacular… and its such a contrast with Urban Japan.
Very informative and entertaining. Amazing cinematography. Super impressed! I'm sure there were many hours of editing to produce this kind of quality. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
Super cool. So glad I stumble upon your channel.I am the custodian of the Seven Seas Ldz Project, all to do with sustainable development research and how remote communties can benefit tie in with the blue water sailing community
Love seeing Japan. I see why you love it so much and live there.
We need to see more sailing vloggers in Japan. Japan is a very underrated cruising spot.
Thanks for showing Yuge island, looks nice!
Repeatedly you show maps with unlabeled bodies of water. Am I supposed to know oceans and seas around Japan based solely on their shape? Do you realize, without labels a map is useless.
Heheh you should try sailing in UK..we have 6 to 7 metres of tide at springs. We do lots of waiting…
WOW, Talk about timing, I just started looking for a boat to sail from the PNW to Japan and back, My Son, Daughter in law and there children live in Japan. Thank you for this video, Blessing to you and yours, Merry Christmas.
These videos are always so educational and wholesome! 😀
It was rather surreal seeing a yacht from Monterey being worked on, especially the Oriane. I grew up and still live in the Monterey area, and have seen that boat for years just hanging out. Good to know she's found what seems like a good home.
I found your channel today, as I was just having a conversation about the potential of sailing in Japan eventually, once my family takes to the waters.
could you guys possibly the next Sailing La Vagabonde. great videography animation andhow you met
Loved it … except for the bits of the old guy 😉 lol😂 well done. You are raising the bar
I never knew this aspect of Japan even I live in Seto inland sea—-!(What a shame!haha) Thank you for sharing:-)
