日本、沖縄、慶良間諸島を巡るクルージング
adding the 400 mil extension to the holes uh lifted the after the boat 100 mm and the bow went down about 150 mm uh the wake has dropped off considerably uh maybe about half a meter because of the change in trim to the boat uh the speed has increased by one to one and a half knots at the same RPM uh the other thing we did was changed the decking from plastic to Evaoam which took 500 kilos of weight off the boat um and we lowered the batteries and inverters and chargers from up in the helm to under the saloon floor which was about 3 m in height uh and they went forward about a meter that has decreased the pendulum effect on the boat by a large amount the balance trim and ride of the boat is significantly better after the changes and the decking is so beautiful to walk on and without scalding your feet no problems so far Margie um no all good all good yonabara Marina is situated about a third of the way along the east coast of Okinawa it’s a very well-run very clean wellprotected beautiful marina you can do a hall out here uh it’s also a great place to check in if you’re coming from the Philippines we can highly recommend contacting these guys u if you’re going to make this journey [Music] Heat heat [Applause] some more energy margi mhm this is 1.3 km uphill bay out there right up to the top there there’s an old fort that’s where we’re going for a look coffee so where where’s the coffee from uh we are using coffee from Peru ah and why why from Peru because after the World War II a lot of Okinawan people went to Peru then owner’s family still living in there still have connection that’s why so it’s it’s well and truly connected and this is is this the grinding machine yes and roasting roasting machine so you get the raw coffee yes and roast and grind here and I can smell passion for it is it just because Yes this is growing around here with the organic organic yes oh those smell beautiful and they have a you have a passion coffee soda yeah this is the original menu here wow the Naga Gusuku Castle was constructed with cut riyuku limestone in other words local limestone it is said that the main parts of the Nagasuku Castle have been constructed by Saki Nagusuku Aji until the latter part of the 14th century in 1440 Gossamaru the lord of Zakimi Joe moved his residence to this castle and finished off the castle as it appears now upon Okinawa’s reversion to Japan which occurred on May 15 1972 the Nagasuku Castle was also designated as a national historic site in December 2nd 2000 the castle was registered as one of Gusuku’s sites on the World Heritage list [Music] [Music] [Music] the Peace Memorial Museum Peace Prayer Park and the cornerstone of peace were established in 1975 5 on Maberna Hill next to the suicide cliffs where the battle of Okinawa ended the memorial path includes 32 memorial monuments as well as the place where Lieutenant General Ushima died by suicide there are a number of separate memorial including the Okinawa Peace Hall a large tower erected in 1978 and individuals for each prefecture of Japan during World War II the United States invaded the Ryoki Islands to use them as a staging area for the invasion of Japan fighting occurred between March and September 1945 resulting in over 250,000 casualties including 150,000 Okinawan civilians the Battle of Okinawa has been described as the deadliest battle of the war [Music] sorry I don’t know oh welcome we are still exploring around Okinawa um today we took a short 12 km bike ride to a ferry and then a halfhour ferry ride across to Kadaka Island uh this island is one of natural beauty and uh an ancestor worship site we rode around these very very quiet streets for some hours and explored all the coastline and and uh the lookout points so it was exceptionally relaxed beautiful day you have arrived [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] uh which way heat heat [Music] [Music] getting ready to go for a Drive in the dingy over to Har Beach [Music] this is magnificent what is it well looks like they’ve gardinia to me [Music] just a few more yeah oh how many more of these have we got [Music] [Applause] 360° view [Music] [Music] what we call a native here just beautiful uh-oh i don’t know what that means but it doesn’t look good pines look ancient and weatherbeaten well after a beautiful walk up in the mountain we come back and the tide has gone out very interesting so after about a five or six kilometer walk up into the mountains and through the town uh we took the dingy on the way back to the big boat and jumped in to the coral reef to explore and wow I tell you the water is so clear as you can see from these short shots you can barely tell there’s any water in there exactly how it is really really beautiful not as much coral as we thought but lots and lots of variety of fish and the coral that was there was was excellent here the water’s called Kalama Blue which is after the island group but it is so mesmerizingly beautiful uh you just have to jump in tied up to the mooring boy get the gear on one two [Music] [Music] hey hey hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so Mahagi how was that oh so beautiful i want to get every last glimpse just in case I need again clear isn’t it it’s like you’re in 20 m and you can see it like it’s 2 foot away yeah we need to watch Margie get in the boot she’s got a lot better at this one two three look at that a lot of the harbors we’ve pulled up in Japan so far are concrete walls like this um you can see all the way around so no floating docks so you have to have a system there’s about 1.8 m of tide uh so you have to have enough rope loose to go up and down um all the boats that are permanent here have a an outside rope um and an inside rope but we don’t have that luxury so um I’ve just you just got to work out so you can get don’t go forward and back too far um but enough slack to allow you to go up and down 1.8 m so we made some fender boards um which just a length of timber about 2.4 m long drill a hole in the top and thread the rope through so that it doesn’t rub off on the wall and then put two fenders um each end of the timber or thereabouts uh so that the timber rubs on the the wall or the bumper and your fenders don’t rub a hole through uh you can see here at the moment The top of the wall from the transom step is about uh 1.4 m at low tide it’s about 3 m so it’s quite a step that’s why our gate up on the higher level is very handy i didn’t think we’d actually use it but it’s very handy here we’ve brought the boat into Zamani Island and tied up along the dock um it’s a pretty big tourist place you can see the large ferry there we’re riding our bikes along these tombs very elaborate tombs uh built in under the cliff faces and the cages then rode all around and in and about the town these cute little streets you can see the walls they’re all got built I guess for protection from tsunamis and wild weather riding around the coast uh it’s hard to believe this is one of the busiest holiday weeks of the year it’s just so quiet and peaceful wherever we ride these beautiful roads constructed all around the coastlines and up and over the top of the hills they just needed to be explored [Music] these roads considering tiny little island with hardly anybody on them major construction made it only three and a half kilometers uphill [Music] concrete building tend to look a lot it’s fabulous [Music] huh sunrise just down there [Music] oh they smell beautiful [Music] we’ve brought the B bikes in on the dingy offloaded them and now we’re going to have a little explore around the island i know there’s a lot it’s worth it though Margie [Music] and there’s the airport right on top of the hill incredible [Music] [Music] today was a beautiful day we got the kayaks off the boat paddled into this harbor in front of us had a look around came back to the boat got the dingy took the dingy to the reef in front on the on the other side of the bridge snorkeled around there for a few hours brought the dingy back to the boat put the bikes in the dingy took the bikes ashore and then rode all around the three islands that are linked by two bridges the weather the scenery the water just perfect day [Music] [Applause] tomorrow we’ll bring the big boat around here and anchor what do you think [Music] margie it’s such a beautiful morning this morning we’re going to go for another kayak are we yeah absolutely where are we going to go nishihara Beach which is just around that little headland there around there yeah just a few kilometers gosh isn’t it a beautiful day [Music] look at the color of this water i just can’t believe it so nice so nice nice when you’re cruising to be able to have all these little toys and spots to put them but makes it so much more fun okay zoom zoom you serious Maggie oh you told me to i’m going to have a nudish swim no one here let’s go okay i just film Margie getting undressed no well we’re doing it i mean this is just too nice to not have a swim so lovely there’s Margie down there doing laps exercise oh look at this our own beach
We arrived in Okinawa and checked into Japan with the very friendly officials. We docked in Yonabaru Marina which is friendly, clean and well run. Great services nearby including fabulous supermarket and farmers market. We used our bicycles to explore the area including a great bread shop, the Nagagusuku castle, the Okinawa Peace Museum and monument and the nearby Kudaka Island. A week in the Kerama Islands was wonderful. We cycled, snorkelled, dived, kayaked, ate and marvelled at the amazing blue.

Hi Russ, did you figure out all the hull changes and weights distribution, trimming etc on your beautiful trips on your own or/and with the help of LongReach?
Although it looks much better but is great economical and convenient upgrade for cruising !
Hope to see more of that and someday on the water. All the best Cap Jess & Phil
You would think they would dump the anchor and back up to the wall
Thank you for the great content! I really enjoy your videos. Could you provide more insight into the fuel consumption and realistic range of the vessel?
Gorgeous! Underwater shots! ❤❤❤😊
