ミニベロで細切れ日本一周の旅 姫路→倉敷
This is the continuation of our trip around Japan. In the past three days, we have come from Kyoto to Himeji. I am heading further west. How far can we go? The city of Himeji is also beautiful. First, we will go to Himegi I went through the splendid gate The Castle tower of Himeji us one of the 12 existing castle towers built before the Edo period. Very beautiful Kokoen I have seen Himeji Castile before so this time, I see Japanese gardens next to the Castle. I like sightseeing. But it’s not so much fun just touring the sightseeing spots in a car or something like that by myself. I have a theme, traveling around Japan by bicycle. I think it’s more enjoyable because I’m sightseeing the places I’ve arrived at on my own. I feel like the bicycle is my “partner on the trip.” I don’t feel the loneliness of traveling alone. I’m ridibg towards Ako City. It’s almost time for lunch I went into to Sukiya. The kimchi beef bowl was delicious! Sukiya also has desserts and coffee, It might be a good place to rest. I entered Takatori Pass. I was pretty tired… I entered Ako City. I saw something. “Hayakago Statue” Statue of Hayakago, who announced the stab wound of Takumi Asano, the lord of Ako domain, ran from Edo to Ako in four days and a half It took 4 and a half days to get here from Tokyo, which is amazing. We entered the Ako city area. Arrived at Ako Castle. This is a building from the Edo period Ako castle is famous by Ako samurai. Statues of 47 samurais Oishi Kuranosuke Only the base of the Oishi Kuranosuke castle tower The castle tower wasn’t originally built Castle towers aren’t very practical, and there was no budget to build one. I still wanted to ride, but There are no hotels in the direction I’m heading I decided to stay in Ako City. I stayed at this hot spring inn, Ako Park Hotel, ¥8,470 per night (tax included). I was able to relax in the large public bath. There was a ramen shop in front of the hotel The combination of beer and gyoza was the best. Of course, I also ate ramen. My mileage on this day was 46.6km The next day, the weather is nice. I am heading for Kurashiki. It ‘s about 76km from here. I am in good shape because I took a good rest at the hot springs. I entered Fukuura Pass. Just before this, I also crossed a pass called Toriuchi Pass, I’m quite tired. For the first time on this trip, I switched the front gear to an inner gear. It would be easier if the gears were lighter I entered Okayama Prefecture! Downhill as a reward Solar power generation plant using the swamp It costs money to install a float, but the power generation efficiency seems to be good It’s about time for lunch I ate meat udon Entered Okayama city Crossed the Asahi River Okayama Castle I went through the city of Okayama At the Ashimori River, I met an animal that looked like a capybara. Was there an animal like this in Japan? When I looked into it, it seems to be an invasive species called nutria. It seems that nutria, which were imported for their fur, were expelled around 1940 and became wild. They breed all over western Japan, and they cause great damage to rice crops. Once they become wild, it would be difficult to eradicate them. Arrived at Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area! This is amazing! The Kurashiki River flourished as a canal during the Edo period. I can feel the sense of style. I wish the modern cityscape had a stylish design like this I stop here for this trip. Kurashiki Station Distance traveled this day: 76.8km, elevation gain: 457mTraveling time: 7:42 I rode from Kyoto to Kurashiki in 5 days. The progress of the trip so far is as this I glad we ran safely without any trouble this time. Thank you for watching.
