BIKE across KRAKOW in ONE DAY? Challenge Accepted! 🇵🇱 POLAND.

[Music] [Music] So this is crackoff in spring. Sunshine, trees in full bloom, and that first warm breeze that seems to lift everyone’s mood. And like any self-respecting European city, Krakov’s answer to nice weather is simple. Grab a bike and go. Rental spots fill up quickly, bike lanes get busy, and suddenly the whole city is on the move. and watching it all, I felt like I was missing out on Krakco’s full spring potential. But luckily, that was easy enough to change. So, I decided to rent a bike and have a little adventure around Kov. Let’s do it. So, we are in Kraco, friends, and I believe it is the most beautiful city in Poland. When you are here, there are three mustsee spots you absolutely can’t miss. First up, Wavvel Castle. Of course, you can already see it in the background, but I suggest we ride closer to check it out, and we can also escape the wind along this beautiful Vista River. So, let’s go. All right, there we go. First moments on the bike. First test drive. So far so good. If I make it through this bike day without dropping my camera, I’m calling this video a success. [Music] [Music] It’s a walk with a bike. Just wanted to show you the castle from this perspective. Safety first. I am afraid of riding a bike and filming, especially when I am on the bridge. [Music] I was a little bit naive thinking they would Let bikes inside. They do not allow dogs, bikes, I don’t know what it is, guns. So, we will keep moving on [Music] foot, kings and queens, battles and coronations. Wavvel Castle has witnessed centuries of Poland’s history unfold. This hilt of fortress isn’t just important. It’s the very heart of Kov where royalty once walked and history was made. And while you could easily lose yourself here for hours exploring the grand halls and towering cathedral, we’re just making a quick stop for now. But here is a secret. The real magic happens at sunset. That golden hourglow over the Vistella River turns the whole place into something out of a fairy tale. I’ve been dreaming of watching the sunset from the castle. It was definitely worth coming back later. Just giving you a sneak peek, but there is still more of Kov to see right now. So, let’s keep moving. So for you bicycle geeks out there, let me tell you something about the specifications what you get for your money. So I picked up the cheapest bike. It is less than $1 per hour. So I have brakes that apparently work. I have seven gears and I have a seat that will give you a serious butt pain if you ride more than a couple of kilometers. When they picked up this bike, a girl was returning hers and a bike guy was like, “So, how was your ride?” She said, “My butt aches.” So now I know what she meant. And while my budget bike might not win any comfort awards, the cool thing about Krakov is you don’t need to ride for hours to see the main attractions. What makes this city great is how perfectly compact it is. The old town and its iconic spots are only a short ride away. Everything is within easy reach. So far, Krakco has been surprisingly bike friendly with smooth surfaces under the wheels. Case in point, look where we’re already. Next stop, zero effort. That’s the magic of this place. Spot number two is of course Kraov’s main square. Some people would say it’s actually number one, but on our list it’s number two today. So there is no specific bike lanes here but people bike through the square all the time. I am trying to do the same. This is my very first time here on the bike. [Music] The main square leads you straight into a maze of narrow streets in the old town, which by the way is a UNESCO World Heritage site. I really just wanted to enjoy the beauty of these medieval streets. But I’ll be honest, figuring out the cycling rules here was a bit confusing. Some parts are pedestrian only, others have limited traffic. And then there are oneway streets where bikes can actually go both ways. You are allowed to cycle in most pedestrian areas, including the main square, but cars are mostly bent unless you have a special permit. Anyway, I survived the bumpy ride. Just take it slow and keep an eye on the signs. [Music] [Music] [Music] The cobblestones of the old town shakes you up a little bit, but once you’re out the old town, You naturally roll right into this park. [Music] [Music] Kov’s city center is absolutely amazing, but also pretty touristy. So, let me take you guys to a hidden gem. A place that far fewer tourists visit. It’s a secret lake that you would never guess is actually so close to downtown. So, we’re saying goodbye to to Aristi Krakov and we’re off to the lake. You got your mama’s sunshine. You got your daddy’s rain. You’re like a piece of heaven in a hurricane. And it’s bubbling over like sweet champagne. You got your mama’s sunshine. You got your daddy’s rain. All day long, right or wrong, you question everything. Why the grass is green? Can I stay up late? And why do bluebirds sing? Sometimes you cry, your big blue eyes for no discernable reason. Your point of view, it comes and goes like changing of the seasons. You got your mama’s sunshine. You got your daddy’s rain. You’re like a piece of heaven. in a hurricane. And we’re having a quick stop to appreciate this communist era monstrosities. Look at this guys. It is a bank. Wow. Bank Pakasa and a bunch of Soviet style apartment blocks. Oh my goodness. I didn’t know that Krakov has so many of them. your guard. You’re like a miniature Picasso with your markers on the wall. You got your mama sunshine. You got your daddy’s rain. You’re like a piece of heaven in a hurricane. And it’s bubbling over like sweet champagne. You got your mama. All righty. It took me maybe 15 minutes and we made it to Zach Shouk Park. And here is a lake on the map. It was a city project to transform a limestone quarry into a recreational area for Krakov’s residence. What a brilliant idea. What was once a neglected pit became a beautiful natural spot with a lake suitable for swimming. So, I hope we escaped the crowds, but I’m not sure. You know that feeling when you’re just far enough from the city that everything changes? There were still people around, but mostly it was just trees and these crazy limestone cliffs, which are pretty common in southern Poland. Apparently, people actually train here for real mountains. If you had told me this was still Kov, I’d honestly be confused. The ride in was surprisingly comfortable, and at first cruising downhill felt like pure bliss. You can reach the lake from the beach side. It’s pretty crowded, so clearly this place is no secret. And after spending some time by the water, I had a thought. I need to get to the top of those cliffs because the view from up there must be [Music] stunning. All the uphills are killing me. I underestimated this area. I gave up halfway this steep hill because it is it isn’t manageable for me to make it there by bike. [Music] So I guess this view was worth all the efforts. Wow, this quarry is gorgeous. The color of water is beautiful. We made it by bike. All righty, guys. I returned my bike. I had to. They only work until 7. So now when I’m walking, I feel like I’m very, very slow. It was a pretty active and fun day on two wheels. I hope I won’t sore tomorrow. So, thank you very much for coming along with me. Hopefully I’ll see you next time from Ukraine. So until next time, guys. Bye. [Music] [Music]

  1. It does look such a lovely place with beautiful scenery. Thank you for showing so many lovely location.

Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and a beautiful woman presenting it all. What more perfection could anyone ask for. Take care and stay safe always. 😘❤️😍🥰🌹🤗

  2. What a great video! We appreciate the effort in shooting all those pretty views — and especially: for being able to shoot on the move as well! That's some skill!

  3. HI, Tanya!…Yeah, those cheap bicycle seats hurt somewhere else too if it's a guy!… 😃…For every delightful downhill coast there is always an equally agonizing uphill slug…You probably noticed it when you were here in the US, but American cyclists have a militant, anarchist culture. Not all, but a good number of them, even if there is a dedicated bike lane available, they will still ride in the middle of traffic. Sometimes two or three abreast. They will ride on the sidewalk. And God forbid you hit one of them, even if they are breaking the law, they're going to sue YOU – because they are CYCLISTS, and they automatically have the right-of-way. (Not true, but that's the rumor they subscribe to.)…And if you were able to walk around without having to lock your bike up to a lightpost or a wall there in Krakow, that's another big difference there. An unlocked bike here will be gone as soon as you turn a corner…Great tour as usual Tanya, awesome camera work, and always a pleasure to follow you on your journeys…Slava ukraini!…

  4. Krakow has been a long-time favourite of mine. You only lost me a couple of times cycling round the town, I've walked so much of it – I seem to have a habit of booking evening flights and having to leave the hotel at 10am!
Next time I think I'll get a bike!

Hope your "butt" and legs survived! You can usually adjust seats forward and back too, but few do, and if they are too far back that stops you sitting on the wide part and that can hurt after a while.

  5. Thank you for another nicely produced video. Your coordination of scenes and music was spot on. Many of your viewers will never travel to Poland but we can all say we've seen it through your presentations. I always learn something new by watching. Stay safe during your journey back to Ukraine.

  6. Hello Tetiana. Glad to see you here again. Nice bicycle tour and music. 3:18 No Suitcases either 💼. The lake looks good for swimming in the summer. Nice jean outfit. If you make it to Warsaw, you should try to meet up with your Youtuber colleague, Mary, at least get a selfie together.😊

  7. I was just thinking about you yesterday, thought that it had been a while since we had heard from you.
Then while surfing the net I found you and this lovely video showing us the softer side of Europe and a little education as always .
    Jindobra .

  8. Krakow is beautiful. I always stop there on my way to Ukraine.
The only thing I didn't like is that the people aren't very friendly.
I smile and try to be friendly to people there and they give me an angry suspicious look in return.
Also, there seem to be a lot of scammers. False AirBnB info, currency exchange and club promoters are a problem.

  9. 🔊 Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate your feedback on the sound in this video.
I felt it might be a bit quieter than usual compared to other videos on YouTube—did it sound okay on your end?
Thanks so much for watching and helping me improve! 🙏

  10. Hello Tetiana , I do look forward to and enjoy your great videos .So far no one has mentioned the very low sound level , I had to put sound up to 75 to hear you ! Otherwise the content was really good .I understand it's the editing that makes videos enjoyable to watch. My dear you are spot-on in that respect ! Krakow is a beautiful place and also very, very clean . Couldn't see any litter or even graffiti ! Why can't we be like that in the UK. !
Just another small point , everyone seems to wear denim and American "tat" , it's so much nicer to see smart local dress and "stand-out from the crowd ! " ✌️ 😊 .
Keep at it girl , you have good talent for these productions 👍 🎥

  11. Hi Tet, Great Vid, beautiful scenery, lovely music & sound quality was fine too! 🙂
Krakow is a really nice place with lots of greenery, lakes & a big Castle too! 😮
That climb was worth it to the top as the lake looked amazing from there! 🙂
Hope you're not too sore from it the next day. :O
Loved the framing at the end with the cherry blossom tree and Castle too! 🙂
Great also to hear that your back home soon too in UKR! 😀

  15. It has been so long since I rode a bicycle , I don't think I would know how . 😂 Do they rent those e-bikes for the lazy folks who don't like to pedal?

  16. You are a brave lady. You accepted challenge really realistic and resilience towards your commitment. You made me mesmerize viewing the palace, garden, and ponds amazing. You are looking simple having said that you work is fascinating landscapes.

  17. Hi Tetiana, It's great that you took us on a bike ride with you. Beautiful city, beautiful places, beautiful girl. I didn't notice anything different about the sound. Thank you. 💙💛

  18. Bike riding through Krakow looks like a lot of fun! The bike trails look well maintained. The parks are beautiful ! If Ukraine. does not have bike trails like that, I hope they will after the war. So many beautiful cities there to explore as well! Thank you for taking us along with you! 🚲

  19. Those were attractive sites. They put a lot of effort into keeping them nice. Cobblestones are pretty but not comfortable to ride on, especially with a hard bike seat. It looked like quite a workout getting to the top of the quarry, but a great view as a prize. Those were fun music choices and camera placements for the video.
