A Slice of Life in Japan: Cycling from Shikoku to Hokkaido | #JETVideoContest2024

こんにちは,

My name is Daniel and I was an ALT in Ayagawa, Kagawa from 2017-2020. During the summer break of 2018, I rode my bicycle from Kagawa to Hokkaido along the west coast of Honshu for 9 days. It was a long 1100 kilometer journey that was a truly once in a lifetime experience. This video highlights some of the best moments of that journey. Apologies in advance for my less than perfect Japanese subtitles.

Special thanks to Paniyolo for allowing me to use his beautiful music.

  1. Indeed a unique ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE that required tenacity, doggedness and perseverance!
While there are easier routes to explore Japan, this guy carved his way through heat, rain and hunger. He demonstrated what Japan stands for….resilience against odds.

  2. to experience Japan in depth and not just as a weekend tourist is a rare opportunity! thanks for sharing! Love Japan! so clean and beautiful 😊😊❤❤!
