The Maldon Wyrm Cycling Adventure

This video covers “The Maldon Wyrm” which is a loop that goes through Maldon (Essex, UK) and surrounding areas. This route is on and off road, that can be ridden on a gravel bike or MTB. Parts of this route requires you to get off of your bike and walk.

The gem is there are 9 unique waypoints related to medieval and ancient history to understand and enjoy. The route itself was created by “Gareth” as was the Essex Serpent which I previously documented. Again I take no credit for Gareth’s work. More detail can be found on his Instagram and Komoot accounts linked below:

  1. Earl Byrtnoth fought the Danes at Maldon, even though he was outnumbered, he didn't want them to leave, so he let them cross a cause-way, otherwise they would of attacked somewhere else. Me and a friend walked there, back in the late ninties?😊
