  1. 0:30 I was wondering why Rob was talking about Maglev tracks while in Kyushu, was trying to search in English and Japanese (九州リニア, 別府リニア, along those lines) and there're no articles on them. The only thing that came out was the Yamanashi testing center for the Chuo Shinkansen that was planned to complete by 2027 pending Shizuoka's local govt approval.

    Edit (found this in Wikipedia):
In the 1970s, a 7-kilometer (4.3 mi) test track for Maglev research and development was built in Miyazaki Prefecture.

So that's what Rob was referring to.

  2. 14:00 That ferry was great, took it from Yawatahama to Beppu as part of the Kansai to Kyushu trip. Too bad it was raining when I took it, on top of ongoing covid measures at the time. Still shocked at how relatively cheap the Evian water was in the ferry.

Edit: 14:27 Funny he brought up Shimanami Kaido, did that the day before the boat trip and stayed at Matsuyama for the night. I suppose this video brought me back some memories for me.
