VIP Barber Experience in Cape Town 🇿🇦 vA 168

In the CBD of Cape Town, I go to a random barber shop, near Green Square. The salon, called Euphoria, is a very fancy salon where everything is possible. I get a 3 hours long foot massage at the same time as getting my hair cut, my beard shaved and a facial treatment. The barbers are very friendly, and we talk about my cycling adventures across Africa as well as about the lives of the workers of the salon. Towards the end of the video, the owner arrives, she is Iranian.
A fascinating journey into the multiculturalism of Cape Town and the Western Cape, in South Africa.
After spending more than 4 hours in the salon, I pay $400 for the haircut, the beard trim, the facial and the foot massage, and the owner, Shereen, invites me to have some drinks with the workers, this evening. Don’t miss the next video.

  1. Sir! This BARBER SHOP people are inherently EVIL. There's no way all the services they have rendered you can cost R7300 or so. This is a broad daylight robbery. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

  2. Jozi people complaining about cape town prices ,dude was even invited for after party by the Iranian woman,so the price included drinks n some quickies 😂😂😂😂

  3. Maybe the drama of being ripped off will make the video more interesting and so is not too big a problem to him? It was typical of any poor Country when a rich customer comes in they will hike the prices. A normal tourist would probably agree all prices before starting the process. The haircut was nothing special by European standards. The facial was an unnecessary process when a shave would have sufficed. So he made a video from it for $400 with good real actors. Maybe he is not foolish after all – the video will be around making money for years.

  4. Lets make them trend i already shared it on my Facebook…other tourists complained that prices were different for them.

  5. Next time come to me…. Been itching to try out my Wahl hair snipper… (never used)… I got as a present back in 1980… I will do your hair for free….🤭

  6. The barber has that hyena look in his eyes and laughs like one too.

Yves, sadly you have been finessed by Banzai the hyena from the Lion King.

It’s for this reason that fewer and fewer tourists will visit SA because of these scumbags.

  7. Interesting. After Yves posted the video, a bunch of people went to Google to leave negative reviews for this shop. Almost all of them have been removed as of this morning!

  8. Luxury Barber??? That place is a dump and they ripped you off to make things worse. How dare they charge you that exorbitant price for what they offered as a "service". This really makes me mad, this is shameful and annoys me beyond belief. It's people like this who are probably illegals who come into this country and think they can make a quick buck. It gives Cape Town and South Africa a really bad name. This crowd must be named and shamed! I'm sorry that this has happened to you, absolutely shocking! This is not the real Cape Town.

You need to get out of cental Cape Town and experience real South African hospitality. To be carved to pieces by a so called Barber without offering sterile first aid is even more disturbing. The health department need to shut this lot down… Disgusting!

Euphoria Massage, Hair, Nail, Body should be avoided at all costs!

  9. That is a bit steep… When they heard you are are more than a million dollars, a light came on to take a lot of you hard earned money.

  10. So absolutely angry and disappointed on your behalf. These shysters all swarmed you and took advantage of your kindness and good nature. I'm so sorry this happened. Why didn't you clarify treatment prices beforehand? The aunty en route to Melkbos, warned you not to trust everyone, they're friendly on the top, but stealing from the side. Love your show. Don't be discouraged. It should be easy for the community to find these con artists

  11. This was so sad to watch 😢 they robbed you big time. You are such a nice person and you didn’t deserve that at all. I’m so sorry Yves. So much love from Namibia 🇳🇦

  12. Same experience 😩at a hairdresser in the Blue Route Mall. Don’t ever mention that you’re a non-resident, even though you’re a born Kapenaar .

  13. So South Africans take note,This is why it has become unlivable and unaffordable to live in your own country because of businesses and people like that exploiting every and any opportunity to suck every rand out of tourists.
It is no more about tourism, it is all about scams, schemes and conniving.😢

  14. They ripped you off at the salon and wanted to further rob you at drinks 🚮shame on them. Shame on Noni the only south african i spotted there
