Tsunamis on Tape: Episode 5. (2011 Part 2 of 2)

A (mostly) complete display of eyewitness footage of the 2011 Tohoku tsunami hitting the Southern half of the devastated region of Japan as well as showing its affects on other countries on the Pacific Rim and covering the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster. This video took a lot of effort and research so I hope you enjoy it and continue to support me.
Once again any weird cuts is due to copyright.

  1. Excellent documentation only issue I had is the writing isn't up long enough so had to keep pausing to read it. But a big 👍 otherwise.

  2. One of the best series of documentaries with one MAJOR PROBLEM: WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING WITH THE LOUSY SUBTITLES??????

  3. Watched every second of part 1, now on to part 2. What you did here is an important and educational document for the world to see. Just as you said in the captions, tsunami footage is sparse due to their severity, so the extensive recordings we have of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami are all the more important.

  4. A ghost appears in this video. You can find it while looking at the tv screen it comes in from the left hand side and floats above the water for 5 seconds. It's white in color and looks like a lady in a dress. You can find it at about 2:39:12.

  5. I just finished episode 4 and wanted to compliment you! You compiled amazing footage and facts about the tsunami and the damage it caused. Thank you for your hard work!

  6. I hear a lot of people crying and screaming in this video. Too emotional. They just ain't smart enough to take a step back and observe such an amazing event. Once in a lifetime opportunity to witness and appreciate this and they blew it.

  7. 3:05
    A man telephoning:
"Hello, are you safe? Where are you on? Well, tsunami may come…”

    Interviwee:
“Arround me, quite things had swept and several cars had pushed come.
I think why I survived, fortunately, the place (I was on) was little higher than surroundings.”

    3:37
    Narration:
“This footage was recorded by camera put on Grand Naruse Bridge, Higashi-Matsushima, Miyagi, above near 3km point from estuary of Naruse and Yoshida rivers.
In Yoshida river, water level observatory on 14km upper point caught moving of water level, tsunami had going up…”

Man A "What's this!? Wow, it comes in such way!"
A "Wow, so aweful. We have hardly chances to see such scene!"
    * INAUDIBLE *

    Man B "Scary…"
    A "It's so impressible."
    Woman "Ever seen such sight."
A "Ooh… But it does not come up till entrance."
B "I think so. But I cannot expect what's going on."
    A "Underground floors maybe danger."

    13:18
    Woman “Oh, it raised over!”
Man "Wow wow… Danger, danger! Oh, people remain! Oh, no, no…”

18:08 Title <A life that born at that day>
    “Is this tsunami…?
I felt… rather gap between the image of tsunami I thought and tsunami actually I seen.”

  8. The cars and trucks with their lights on floating away really hits home knowing there are terrified and helpless people inside facing imminent death. I guess if there's a lesson to be learned from that always heed the power of mother nature 😢🙏🏻

  9. 뻔뻔한 전범국에 내리는 벌이다
니들이 죽은 것보다 니들이 죽인사람이 더 많다
    더 큰 질량으로 천벌을 받아라

  10. 2:53:44 is among the scariest footage of the tsunami. The ones in the ship are most likely seamen crews that just docked temporarily in Japan, but got an unfortunate timing. You can literally hear them praying to their "Lord" to stop.

  11. 2024年時点の日本国内ではほとんど見ることができなくなった動画が多数含まれています。まとめてくれてありがとうございます。

  12. I watched episode 4, it's an excellent documentary, with a wealth of information. Showing the chronology of the event gives the dimension of how this catastrophe affected the Japanese population.

  13. I have watched all of these videos but your edit has made it more like being there than anything by itself.
Seeing the perspective of the person shown in the action as it is happening makes it real . Recognizing the waves and landmarks, cars , boats and then seeing them from opposite side or even inside was something I’d missed.
Horrible day but lessons to learn about power of water when it crosses man’s creations and fences .
Way to make Lemonade out of a massive pile of lemons .

  14. That would absolutely terrifying i am not a strong swimmer, in Canada we don't get earthquakes
Stupid comment on my part, nobody could swim in a torrent of water.
All those poor people that lost everything in the flood of water
