I would love it if she just ran away in some incredibly professional manner and had a wonderful life somewhere. However, I also doubt that to be likely given what we know…

as someone who's struggled with SI, i find it incredibly likely that she committed. especially considering the notes, the flowers. really sad case 🙁
I think she did do what you said but not the way you said. She probably would not have known how this drug and alcohol interact plus when people do that they just want to be over quickly. She left the area yes, went someplace far away, secluded and did it there. Animals got to her and there was nothing left afterwards.

Really interesting documentary, typically considered and respectful. A few thoughts. (1) I know the area and I find it hard to imagine that a 16yo girl could disappear from there without seriously trying to. A suicide victim would surely be found eventually unless maybe the body was moved or tampered with in some way. (2) No ID less a problem in 1995 than now. (3) She would need an ally, probably an older male to disappear but (4) record shops are good places to meet one (5) Several off grid groups eco / anarchist about at the time, she seems a natural recruit (6) babysitters are usually paid cash, she could have built up a reasonable pile.

I unfortunately don't think she is alive. Knowing that she hasn't been seen and that the alcohol and paracetamol was found in an area she was last seen, I think we know what happened. Such a tragic case – I hope wherever she is she is at peace.
