Kenya: Come Hell or High Water | Deadliest Journeys

Climate change is cutting Kenya in two: in the north, entire regions are suffering from a deep drought while in the south, populations find themselves threatened by rising water levels. Every week, Adam buys fish from Lake Victoria fishermen to sell at the cannery. A race against time and the sun begins in his unrefrigerated truck. On the Baringo Lake side, it’s quite the opposite: residents have to deal with crocodiles, formerly far from the banks. As for the school, it has become an island and some children are forced to cross on makeshift rafts.

  1. I am from Kenya and this documentary says it all but the leaders flex the expensive watches on public tv and you can't do nothing the president is the best liar of them all this is the worst government i have ever seen am 24 years old i have experienced 4 governments and this country will be poorer country come 2030 i hope i don't get get killed .PEACE AND GOD HELP KENYA

  2. I am a Kenyan citizen living in makutano meru county I don't accept that this episode reflects the livelihoods or situations in Kenya, whoever is responsible for this should travel broadly and get to know Kenyan places well I am proud of my homeland Kenya.

  3. Sasa mnataka kujifanya hamjaskia Waria akisema "The ice will expire"😂

Anyway I think I just realised where the saying "paying peanuts" came from😂😂😂😂

  4. Something that always makes my blood boil is the situation that people in the north rift and north eastern regions live in despite there being politicians who get an annual budget from the national government but still do nothing to improve the living standards of their people 🤨🤨🤨😕

  5. What kind of a statement is “when we don’t catch enough fish we don’t have enough money for food?” Fish IS food!
Hopefully that was just a bad translation…

  6. Someone is pocketing millions as an mp, women rep, senator and governor of these areas with no roads. Where are they? You and I have to call out the emperor when he is naked. Demonizing the messenger wont change the fact that millions of citizens are suffering from poverty, lack of opportunities, poor infrastructure, little or no education and generally a tough life.

  7. As a Kenyan living in Kenya I can confidently say that this documentary is biased, disgusting and it reflects a country that even I myself don't know about. Shame on you Best Documentary. I am now even doubting your perception of other countries that you CONVENIENTLY choose to show us.

  8. I am not african and have never been to Africa. However I believe Africa is an amazing country with so much, firstly the amazing people who work hard and have such zest for life. I feel sad thst these people for the most part don’t have electricity or running water and they deserve so much better than the corrupt politicians that are fooling no one. India got most of the country with electricity Africa could too. Maybe if people didn’t work so hard they might have time to deal with the politicians i wish all the best to every honest African ❤❤

  9. THEY BETTER WAKE UP!!! BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN A 3 RD WORLD COUNTRY, ABSOLUTELY DOESN'T GIVE YOU A LICENSE TO BE A CROOKED THEIFING SCAMMER!!! STOP IT !!! HAYDES IS ABSOLUTELY A REAL PLACE …THEIR GUARANTEEING A ONEWAY TICKET!!!!! FACTS PEOPLE 1000%………

  10. As a Kenyan, This is pure script, full of acting…. Kenya has one of the best road networks in Africa.. a new 11 tonne canter to ferry 5 fish??!! really?. Refrigerated lorries are all over Kenya. On behalf of kenyans, this episode should be dropped it also makes us question the genuinity of other episodes from other countries. Adan is not a university student, Who throws fish to crocodiles in kenya?, ,,One shop in migingo is a lie, big lie. Nyanza province in kenya has very best road networks…

  11. The truck been stuck on a dry road is a joke. Adan should be deported back to Somalia. Why can't he also use crates for the seven fish he's carrying

  12. I've come back to this comment section once more and I can see how Ruto got elected in 2022, very low IQ behaviour hapa. Instead of people focusing on the bad and untarmacked roads, they're here moaning about carrying 100kg of fish in a truck. Ama waling'oa lami ndo wafilm this video😂😂😂😂 This country is definitely Not Gonna Make It. Losers all over.

  13. Those who don't like food when they have a lot of options, those who buy the eleventh when they have 10 pairs of shoes, those who don't like the brand new phone they use because a new model has been released, look what kind of lives there are

  14. I have many questions about this video

FIrst of all, the guy that transports fish, why doesn't he buy isothermal boxes of porexpan? That would make him save hundreds of dollars in Ice. Maybe he haven't even thought about it or there's something that I'm missing.

The daughter of the woman that needs to dig a hole to get some water, why does she even think to give birth to a children or more if you barely have food and water for yourself? I guess It's about religion or they have this necessity that even if they don't know if they will live past tomorrow they must have kids?

Also, I've seen a lot of documentaries from Africa and still can't understand why most of the people that drink contaminaded/stagnant/dirty water don't boil it and filter it through a sock or coffee filter or smth.

  15. I never knew there such roads in kenya because where I come from even in the deep interior villages the roads are with murram or tarmac and especially the tea growing area they’re very careful to keep the roads in good condition I think these areas their leaders have failed because there is money allocated for every county to med roads so sad

  16. 🤣😂great documentary but must you always exaggerate, most people living in Kenya have never experienced such let alone seen a crocodile

  17. It's the same old story over fish & pollute the waterways, cut and burn down the forests, kill all the natural wildlife. Once all life including the trees are all dead… complain about global warming. The forest helps to regulate the weather everybody knows that.

  18. Adan is transporting 10 fish pieces on a 6.6L V8 diesel engine Lorry weighing 12 tons to earn 20K. That thing ignites with KES 186 every time you stop and start.

  20. Why would Adan use a 7 tone capacity truck to transport 100kgs of fish, he could have used a 4×4 pickup that will be more effective
