Our bike ride this time goes very slowly to explore the detail, yet a wider range than walking, around Fukui station. We start at Jyoto (城東) and ride towards Fukui station along Arakawa river (荒川). The route includes Katamachi (片町), the only nightlife district in Fukui City. Please see the map for more details of the route.
I found that the traffic lights in Fukui, or perhaps in Japan generally?, are very long for waiting, the waiting parts are removed from the footage by editing.

懐かしいですね。中心部では、だるまや西武（古い）しか残ってないのかしら。片山電化センター、松木屋、勝木書店は・・・。福井中央公園は現存してるのですね。昭和５７年の８月初頭、福井まつり協賛で福井放送が、「FBCラジオフェスタ」の公開放送を熱気みなぎる満場の観客の中でやってました。ゲスト歌手は、あべ静江、さとう宗幸。中森明菜、小泉今日子、堀ちえみ、三田寛子で、司会はケーシー高峰でした。全歌手が同日出演なのか、２日にまたがったのかは、忘れましたが、４名新人アイドル同時出演は間違いないです。明菜ちゃんへの声援は他を押さえて圧倒的でしたね。映像ありがとうございます。
この春４年の単身赴任の任期を終えて福井をはなれました。
懐かしんで福井の映像求めてたどり着きました。
移動手段はもっぱらママチャリだったので大変思い出深い風景です。
スタート地点も近所だったし…
