2024 International Daegu Marathon full course. What if you drive with GR86? | chapter 2

Yesterday, my GoPro battery ran out, so I filmed again. It’s the next day. The weather was very nice yesterday, sunny and sunny. It’s a bit cloudy today. The temperature is a little lower than yesterday I think weather like today would be better for a marathon. Yesterday it felt a bit like early summer.

I turned on the air conditioner in the car yesterday too. I think the weather will be cool today The temperature outside is 12 degrees. It was very cloudy at first. It seems like things are getting clearer now. This is the most central area in Daegu.

If you make sure to use a compass and spin a circle, You can think of it as the part where you have to take pictures with the compass. This is right here. It is called Banwoldang. Now, this is the most central street on the main street.

What was famous here in the past was the Dong-A Department Store, a Daegu local business. Recently, all local department stores have closed or moved to other locations due to poor management. The Hyundai (Hyundai Department Store) is the hottest place these days. It’s just on the right

We started from Daegu Stadium so far. I went down south towards Suseongmot Lake and then Then I came back to the main street (Dalgubeol-daero). I joined Dalgubeol-daero and crossed into Jung-gu. If you go a little further, you will now change direction to the north. When explaining the marathon course,

Downtown Daegu (not the very center) I said it was a course that goes around most of the city centers. When I think about it, I just went a little further west than the middle. It turned straight north. So, I looked at the entire map again.

(Excluding the outline) If Daegu looks slightly oval like this Right part of the oval. About 1/4 minute total. If the apple is round like this, Cut it and take about 1/4 of the lower right part. This internationally officially recognized marathon course is 42.195km long.

Well, we’re almost there. Right here and now, this is just past the center. Slightly past Banwoldang, Oh, you can see the Line 3 monorail again here. Now, this is Cheongna Hill Station. It is called Sinnam intersection. The name is fun. They say he’s excited. Excited.

The noun form of ‘excited’ is made with the prefix ‘ㅁ’, resulting in ‘excited’. Now, this place is called Cheongna Hill. There is a famous song (that everyone knows, included in textbooks) I’m not good at singing I will introduce the song with a picture here.

It’s a place called Cheongna Hill. Seomun Market is one of the most famous places in Daegu. Seomun Market is right in front of here. Seomun Market is now on the left. You can think of it as a very old neighborhood.

Until the end of the Joseon Dynasty, when referring to Daegu, only this area was mentioned. As I mentioned, the downtown area of Daegu, also called downtown, is called Dongseong-ro. The reason it is called ‘Dongseong-ro’ is because it is a road in the eastern fortress. That’s why it’s Dongseong-ro.

What is Seomun Market? That’s where your preface was. So are there a south gate and a north gate? Doesn’t exist now, but the name remains There was a place called Nammun Market a little below (south).

If you look on the side where the North Gate was, there is a road called Bukseong-ro. (Bukseong-ro is famous for briquette bulgogi and udon.) Daegu has many famous streets named after them. (Kim Gwangseok-gil, Modern Alley-gil, etc.) Bukseong-ro is a tool alley. There are a lot of places that sell tools.

Now, on the left is Seomun Market. It is also a place where many politicians come. Hyundai can also be said to be one of the most active and large-scale markets in the country. After going up a bit along Mono, we turned east again. Will.

It will pass in a little while. We will soon pass by Daegu Station. Dongdaegu Station, which I mentioned yesterday, I told you that when you go abroad, the biggest station is called Jungang Station.

Daegu Station was the central station before Dongdaegu Station was created. This is the train station located in the city center. However, these days, high-speed trains such as KTX do not stop at Daegu Station. It can be said that the rating has been lowered as it is a smaller station compared to before.

Still, it’s in the middle of the city. I think this is a very good station to get into Daegu from a small city on the outskirts of Daegu. Because when you come here, you can connect to the subway. I think it will be easy for you to come because everything is ready.

Now, for those coming from big cities, Dongdaegu Station You can use the subway to get there. Now, let’s turn right here. This is Dalseong intersection. This is a course that turns right at Dalseong intersection. Now, run east again. Now turn east again We are no longer going to the west side of Daegu.

I’m heading back towards Suseong-gu and Dong-gu. If you start from Suseong-gu, The way back is toward Dong-gu. Now, you can see Daegu Station on your way. You will also see Dongdaegu Station. If you look in the middle, you can see some very old buildings.

Can you see a lot of tool stores on the left? This is Bukseong. Well, I saw Seomun Market earlier. This is the north and then I couldn’t actually show you Dongseongro is near the point where we departed today.

So, how big was the old Daegu Fortress? I think you might be able to get a rough idea. Oh, and speaking of Dongseongro, I have worked in Cheongju for some time. You said downtown Cheongju is shaped like a curved ‘T’. They said the point where the vertices meet is the city center.

The name of the city center is ‘Seongan-gil’. Oh, the name on the left has recently changed. What was the name of ‘Daegu Citizens’ Center’ in the past? The name was changed to Daegu Concert House. On the left is the Daegu Concert House. Old name gu. Daegu Citizens’ Center.

Then if you look at the front left There is Lotte Department Store along with Daegu Station. This is Daegu Station, which I mentioned earlier. Subway Line 1 and the train station coexist here. There is also a Lotte Department Store in the shopping center.

This is Daegu Station, right? I mentioned Dongseong-ro earlier, and Dongseong-ro is on the right here. So this is the end of the eastern castle Next, the place where the monorail passed earlier is the west gate. West gate and then North gate After that, I couldn’t introduce the south gate.

If you go slightly south from the road you came on earlier (The Hyundai), I’m not sure exactly, but it’s about 1km away. It’s called Nammun Market. In fact, in the past, Daegu was in this shape. All famous people in Daegu lived nearby, Some of their homes remain.

I ended up talking about Cheongju. In Daegu, they use the Chinese character ‘ro’. However, the downtown road in Cheongju is called ‘Seongan-gil’. So, I know Dongseongno. As soon as I heard about Seongan-gil, Ah, I once thought this was the road inside the castle. Actually it is like that

When you go into downtown Cheongju, there is a big prop. When I saw that, I saw that there was a very large temple inside the castle. I also knew this. Uh, you see this building on the left. Looks like it’s going to be rebuilt.

There are many buildings of this style in Seoul too. It looks like a building from the 70s or early 80s. I see these old buildings On the right, you can see the redeveloped residential-commercial complex.

It was also in the news a lot. There was a time recently when no houses were built in Daegu. But recently, I built a lot of houses in the past 2-3 years. (The tower crane) is less visible now.

Until last year, if you raise your head a little, All I could see was cranes. I saw too many tower cranes. There is a lot of redevelopment going on now. I think the problem is that too many houses were suddenly built and sales weren’t going well.

It seems like there are a lot of vacancies. So it appeared a lot in the news. House prices in Daegu have fallen significantly. Because it was early in the morning, on the road Since there aren’t many cars, it comes quickly. Oh, I used to run a marathon too. I remember running this section.

I feel it every time I drive my car Because riding a bicycle is a bit faster than running a marathon. Even though I thought to myself, “I can’t be more comfortable riding a bike than running.” Even riding a bicycle for 100 km takes a lot of effort.

Then the bike trip ends. When you put your bike in the car and return home, By bicycle, in my case, It runs at a speed of around 30km/h. Cars now travel around 100 km/h on the highway. So the car is nice too There’s an air conditioner and a heater, so it’s very comfortable.

This is what I thought Now let’s cross the bridge again It corresponds to the Han River I mentioned yesterday. But you said that Daegu is vertical, right? Sincheon is on the west, and on the right is Sincheon-daero. I told you it was Dong-ro.

Now that you’ve crossed the bridge, it’s probably Suseong-gu or Dong-gu, right? Perhaps this is Dongsin Bridge, one space above Suseong Bridge. (Sincheon Bridge is 2 spaces above Suseong Bridge. ^^) No, I think it’s above Dongshin Bridge. It must be Shincheongyo. Anyway, this is Dong-gu. Dong-gu is the closest to Suseong-gu.

Well then, we are almost there (at Dongdaegu Station). If you go a little further ahead, there is Dongdaegu Station and Shinsegae Department Store. Then the express bus terminal, the intercity bus terminal This complex terminal is located next to a train station. I’m not sure if the information is accurate.

Before the Daegu Shinsegae Department Store opened there. Centum City in Busan is the size of several soccer fields. It is the largest department store in the country. This news came out It’s not exact after that, but

From what I heard, there is a Shinsegae Department Store in Dongdaegu Station that is now in Daegu. It is bigger than Centum City in Busan. They were talking It doesn’t matter which one is bigger, both are very large department stores.

I think you can think of it as one of the largest department stores in Korea. What’s funny is that in Daegu, there isn’t a single large company that we all know about. But like I said There are many consumer facilities (almost all of them). That’s why it’s called Daegu, the city of consumption.

Probably the largest here in Gyeongsangbuk-do Because it is a metropolitan city, In the surrounding small and medium-sized cities (satellite cities) Instead of going to Seoul on weekends or when I have free time, I think it’s because I spend a lot of money in Daegu.

I don’t know much about Dong-gu. I’ll explain everything I know. I think I forgot to say something earlier. Oh, that’s right. It’s on the sign over there. Dongdaegu Station Complex Transfer Center Oh, it’s already starting to show. that huge structure Oh, slightly, what is it? Contact Not the famous contact from before.

The spaceship from Contact, which was released recently (5-6 years ago??) It’s like laying it on its side Of course, that one is streamlined and this one is square. It feels huge. Now, let’s take a left turn here.

On the right is that very large fire station. I believe it is the Dongbu Fire Department. There is a fire department I used to think that was really big. Because there are many large and tall buildings around. The observation tower at the fire station over there also looks very small.

Now, Shinsegae Department Store looks very big. But that’s not all If you look in the back, it’s connected by a cloud bridge. It’s not big, but it’s still bigger than most buildings. There is one more parking tower and that shopping center.

This thing is so big that the one next to it looks a little small. Actually, that building is like this, I think it would be a very big building if left alone. Then, if you look north at the intersection on your left, From this car, you can see Dongdaegu Station on the left.

This is the station where the KTX high-speed train now stops. Here, cars are going straight back and forth. This is the north-south road (Dongdaegu-ro). If you go down to the right, you will reach Beomeo intersection. (A large residential-commercial apartment complex at Beomeo intersection) Here, it’s obscured by a building so it’s barely visible.

A large residential-commercial building at Beomeo intersection It can be slightly seen between the buildings. Yes, if you do the full marathon course up to this point, It doesn’t matter because they are athletes, but among the general public If you participate in the full course

At this point, you’re almost at the 2/3rd point. In my opinion, it is not an accurate number. Based on my experience, I have reached the 2/3rd point. You can think of it this way. same When I think about running Now, you can see Dongdaegu Station on the right.

So, I don’t think I will be bored while running (up to this point). Because there are quite a few things to see. Now, you can see a lot of apartments around the station. Everything looks clean again This has been mushrooming in the last 1-2 years. A lot of things came up.

When it was created, it was 20 pyeong and 30 pyeong. small? It’s true that it’s small Anyway, the people’s most preferred square footage and It’s a little smaller than that, so it’s for one-person households. There wasn’t enough housing to live in. Actually, I haven’t done it well in several years.

And then suddenly I made too much because it wasn’t enough. It’s overflowing now I guess I can’t help it Because I didn’t plan it. Because it is done according to supply and demand, If it overflows, I’ll make less. I thought it was too much, so I made less.

If it’s not enough again If you don’t build it right away and you run out of money, I guess it can’t be helped since it will be built again then. I’ll probably keep going this way I think you’ll see a lot of those new buildings.

Anyway, since it is a new building, it looks clean and nice. Now, in front, you can see that this is a three-way intersection. That side that looks like a crossroads in front of me This is the road into the hospital parking lot. This is the famous Fatima Hospital in Daegu.

After passing the Fatima Hospital intersection, we are heading east again. If you go a little further, you will now see a bridge crossing the Geumho River. Ayang Bridge appears. There are a lot of cute names. There was also ‘Sinnam’ earlier, but this time it is ‘Ayang’. Ayang

Fawning or something like that There are also new apartments here that are not yet finished. Take a look here~~ I’m getting goosebumps. Now (land pushed aside for redevelopment) Look at the apartments back there. When all of this is pushed down, it’s like a wasteland, like a field.

When existing buildings were demolished I could see the whole sky. It reminded me of Denmark. I could see the sky very clearly when there were only low buildings. The sky was clear for a while, but now many tall buildings are scheduled to be built.

Well, it’s not Daegu. Gyeongsan City is at the eastern end of the Daegu Line 2 extension. If you go to Gyeongsan, there is another station called ‘Imdang Station’. Imdang Station. We heard it a lot and didn’t think much of it. In the past, Kim Young-cheol’s Power FM Kim Young-cheol also said that.

Imdang? while doing What are you talking about? Now, it says ‘Ayang-ro’. It says Daegu International Airport. I think Daegu International Airport will probably be relocating soon. It looks like they are trying hard to start construction now. For international airport relocation Because of various interests Gunwi-gun was incorporated into Daegu.

So the shape of the Daegu map is very It looks a little strange So it became the largest metropolitan city except Seoul. So far, if we assume that the shape of the codfish is an oval shape with a round shape, Actually, it’s not like this. There’s more below.

It’s really big here, especially in the lower left west corner. I would say it looks a bit like the hind legs of a chicken leg. The shape of the codfish was originally a bit like this. Should I say that the top of the hind leg is shaped like a heart?

Anyway, Gunwi-gun is now incorporated. (I also go to Gunwi-gun often. I’ll introduce a good restaurant.) I don’t think you can see it from here If you cross Ayang Bridge and turn left, there is the international airport. It was the closest international airport to the city center in Korea.

It still exists to this day I will probably use it for the next 5-6 years. It is the closest international airport to the city center. If you start from Beomeo intersection The distance is only about 10km. It only takes about 15 minutes.

So, most people who live in the center of Daegu Well, there are no European routes that go far. Going to nearby Japan or Southeast Asia Just leave home 20 minutes early. It is a very close and convenient airport.

It’s convenient, but it has its pros and cons. Because it’s in the city center, there’s this airplane noise. It was very inconvenient for people living in Dong-gu. Now, this is the standing intersection. To your right is Iseok Middle School. (Standing, not seating ^^;) Now, you can turn right at the Ipseok intersection.

Now if you go this way I said a little while ago that it felt like the 2/3rd point. At this point, I think you’ll feel like you’re running towards the end. (Feeling like 3/4 of the way?) Of course, there is still some more left. For administrative purposes, I crossed the Geumho River.

The atmosphere is a little different here. Since it’s near the airport, there aren’t many tall buildings. So the atmosphere is a little different. Now, at this point, marathon runners I wonder how hard it must be I drive comfortably like this

That’s right, there are no tall buildings. Now, for those who live near Daegu International Airport, You might have a hard time with the noise. One of them is a passenger plane, but I don’t think it would be that loud.

It’s next to a military airport. So a lot of fighter jets take off and land. The famous F15K fighter jet is also here. So sometimes I take a plane to travel. You could also see fighter jets taking off. I think I will probably relocate in the near future, in 5-6 years.

Probably from the perspective of Dong-gu citizens I think my lifelong wish has come true. Oh, I don’t come to this town often either. What’s going on? 119 is passing by One more thing comes to mind when I see the 119 and ambulance.

To mention a few things: Who doesn’t think that they should avoid the sound of an ambulance? Probably not. I want to do it all. The problem is that there are cars on the left and right now. You can’t avoid it In times like this, you can’t avoid it.

I thought about it a long time ago, but now it was about 10 years ago. It’s been 10 years, hasn’t it been 10 years? Anyways Well, like when I went to Hawaii before. I think it was when I went to Australia the next time.

What I felt at that time was that he really did his best to make concessions. But the best you can do is avoid it. So both cars are already far away Because they put it all close to the sidewalk.

There was a space available, but I thought we had to change to the next lane. I think I thought there was nowhere to get out of the way. I really ignore lanes and everything and if I see a space I can avoid.

Get out of the way as much as possible and wait until the car leaves. Ensuring that the car that gave way can come back in I think you have to even make concessions.

After seeing that, I learned that that’s how it is done. I’m trying to do my best to get out of the way. the problem is. The second thing I want to say is that private ambulances and This is the ambulance of the 119 firefighters. Is the siren sound very different?

Private companies are so noisy that the sound is I thought I could hear it well and get out of the way quickly. pressure I feel it but The problem is with the people living around I think it’s causing too much pain I hear it sometimes in my house too. It was too big

On the other hand, I can’t hear the 119 siren very much. So I had to get close to hear the sound. So it can be a bit difficult to give in. So, I thought it would be nice to have a medium sound.

So I said two things. I did my best and even gave up on the car. Give in to avoid accidents I think it’s right to help them join well. Second, it would be nice if the siren sound were standardized and made appropriate.

Now, if you look around, there are no tall buildings. Yes? It must be the effect of the airport. Therefore, among the various districts in Daegu, Dong-gu is the least developed district. I think it has a big impact on the airport and its units.

Now, you have to go a little further east from Yonggye intersection. And near Yulha Station, I head towards Suseong-gu Stadium again. Ah, at that point, I think you’ll think this is the last course. Now, there are a lot of Taegeukgi here.

By this section, I think the players will have lost a lot of strength, but most people will. Make a left turn like going straight From the Yulhago Bridge, I go back toward Siji. There is a large Lotte outlet building in front of Yulhago Bridge. Is it Lotte Outlet Yulha Branch?

You can think of it as starting from there and turning south again to the right. Oh, you can see it over there. It’s a building over there that looks like a glass window and looks like a huge blue building with red letters on the side that says Lotte Mart.

I’ll turn right over there There’s an overpass right before you go. It’s my first time coming here too. Wow, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom here. Now let’s go Yes, it says Daegu Stadium Suseong IC. You can go this way.

I think the actual marathon will probably run on an overpass. The car is under control The marathon is not necessarily a full course. There are also courses where citizens can walk. I’m not sure exactly, but there might be a shorter one of 5km. I went out for 10km

About 10km is a bit challenging for beginners. I think it’s okay So after running 10km If you feel that the marathon is a sport that suits your tastes, I think it would be a good idea to try the half course. Now I’m of the style that says exercise is for health.

I don’t dare try the full course because I feel like it will be detrimental to my health. If you have physical strength, it would be a good idea to try the full course.

Even ordinary people can easily run about 10km. I think it would be a good idea to try the 10 km run once. I think it will be a good experience Now, moving from Dong-gu back to Suseong-gu. The river that moves at once and passes below is Geumho It’s a river

We are passing the overpass to cross the Geumho River. Here, I will use a slightly higher RPM. A toll of 300 won was paid. I’m a little distracted in the morning The shifting wasn’t smooth.

Anyway, it’s a little bit of the GR86 video. I think there are subscribers who would like to hear the sound of the GR86’s engine. I tried using a slightly higher RPM. Let’s do something now It feels like I came through a wormhole. I showed up from Dong-gu to Suseong-gu all at once.

If you turn left at the red light ahead, From where we started I heard that the school district is between the famous Manchon intersection and Beomeo intersection. This is the midway point between Manchon Intersection and Siji. If you’ve made it this far, you’re almost there. For the marathon course

With this thought in mind, the stadium will soon unfold before your eyes. If you’re like me, you’re almost on the verge of losing consciousness. I have to hold on with my mental strength and run to the end. I think this is the section where I need to do the final spurt.

I’m not sure what the experts think. When an amateur or just an ordinary person thinks, it seems like that. It’s the same Now, this is Yeonho intersection. Turn left at Yeonho intersection Oh, there’s snow on the excavator right now. I think foreigners will think it’s really cute when they see it.

Not only foreigners but also Koreans Wow, there are people practicing running here again. A lot of Korean people thought that was really cute, so I was curious about that too.

When driving on the highway, there are large trucks and large tank trucks. If you look at the back of these cars, there are eyes drawn on them. It’s a bit weird to call it an eyeball. There are eye stickers attached. I saw something there They sell it at highway rest stops.

But I think I don’t think truck drivers will pay money to buy it. I think there are companies that hand them out or organizations that distribute them for free. They say that actually works What effect does it have on the car coming behind?

They say it has the effect of waking up drowsy drivers. I think it actually has a psychological effect. The moment you see that, it’s not a hard, cold metal object. Suddenly he started to look like a person. And that expression strangely makes me imagine a very bright smile.

I think it’s really well designed Not too light, not too funny, just right. I can imagine your smiling face So I think it’s a good idea If any foreigners see this video, What you need to pay close attention to is the snow on those big cars that looks like heavy equipment.

Then there is something painted on the road. Colored mainly in green and pink and blue Same thing It’s colored, like in a racing game. There is a guide line as shown on the record line.

I’m not sure if there are other countries too. I think it is a somewhat characteristic feature of Korean roads. Here is the confusing course route that I mentioned when I left yesterday. Is it this road or the road next to the baseball field below?

I’m confused. You can’t know for sure by looking at the course map. This is the correct line drawn on the course map. This way, when I run or when I leave, I go this way. It says to turn left. The photo is of the same course shown yesterday as GR86.

But I think this is the way back Well, we’re almost there now. The reason I said this is because it is the last minute of the spotlight. Past the aqueous IC Turn left at the intersection here. I need to see what the name of the intersection here is.

I can’t see the name of the intersection. If you’re confused, go to the stadium intersection It says to change direction. Is this the stadium intersection? Is the one space above the stadium mine? I’m confused, but anyway, during the competition I’ll guide you through everything. I think you can run without much confusion.

Now that I’m introducing it, I’m a little confused. Daegu Stadium can be seen on the left. It seems like just yesterday that the Korea-Japan World Cup was held. I really can’t believe it’s been over 20 years. People in their teens and 20s who watch this video

It would seem like a story from the past. To us, it seems like just yesterday. I think the 1988 Olympics are a bit old now. But back in 2002, the 1988 Olympics felt exactly like that. No, I feel like I don’t know 88 because I don’t know the 1988 Olympics..

I heard that in Seoul, Olympic-daero is now called 88, so if Seoul also says 88, it means After hearing the old man, we should call it Olympic Boulevard. Well, there’s a saying about today’s generation.

Likewise, in Daegu, between Daegu and Gwangju There is the Palpal Expressway that opened just before the Olympic Games connecting Now the name has changed and is called Gwangju-Daegu Expressway. Before it was officially named, it was Moonlight Expressway.

Dalgubeol (old name of Daegu) and Bitgoeul (old name of Gwangju) combined It was called the Moonlight Highway. The official name is Gwangju Daegu Expressway. Now let’s call it 88 Now I’m becoming an old person I sometimes hear the word 88.

Ah, that 88 highway is a highway. There was also a one-lane section on a one-lane road. There wasn’t even a median strip in the first lane. So, if you want to pass on the highway, drive to the center. There was a highway that had to be crossed.

There is 88, but now it has been changed to Gwangju-Daegu Expressway and is a very clean two-lane and four-lane road. Now, maybe something goes in here. I don’t know exactly where it goes. Anyway, the car has no choice but to go this way. Im here.

Yes, then, for those of you preparing for the marathon, there aren’t many days left, right? There’s about a week left Practice well and don’t get hurt. Next, uh, players coming from far away and abroad. I hope you make many good memories in Daegu and Korea.

I hope this video helps the general public become a little more interested in marathons. And if people who like cars are like me, they probably like all things to ride. There are bicycles among the rides. I also told you a little bit about bicycles.

Next, I think you might like sports like running instead of cycling. For those who already enjoy running, such as marathons, I think you just need to keep doing it. If you haven’t thought about it before, Those who quit while doing it I took this opportunity to exercise once.

If you apply for a competition or something like that, I gained some strength to exercise. I hope this becomes an opportunity like that. These words are actually something I say to myself for my own sake. I haven’t been exercising a lot lately and have been being lazy.

Yes, thank you so much for watching the long video until the end. I wasn’t going to tell you this well, but Because it tickles and I’m embarrassed I wasn’t going to say anything, but if you click Subscribe! and Like! It’s actually empowering. I would appreciate it if you could do it

I look forward to seeing you again with a good video next time. I will try my best to make a good video. thank you.
