hong kong vlog | a day on lamma, forest teahouse, night at museum

Let’s start! Since the weather is still mild in Hong Kong We’re planning a day trip out of the city to Lamma Island! But before we go out, I need to clean my desk first Normally when I’m editing a video, my desk looks like a bomb went off

So after finishing a vlog, I spend the next day tidying and organising I love keeping tickets and guide books as souvenirs… But I’ve collected too many and it’s cluttering up my space So I need to be more smart about what to keep and what to recycle haha My mouse is pretty gross…

Ps. I think the Logitech mouse is still the best compared to Apple As you can see, I’ve been using it non-stop I give myself permission to leave the house now 🙂 There are two ferry piers on Lamma Island

But the main ones goes to the town centre, the other goes to the seafood restaurants We’re going to take the one to ‘Yung Shue Wan’ The boat ride is just 20 minutes A map of things to do and see! On your marks, get set, go! See you later, city life!

The last time I came to Lamma was… 2016! Ready to see what’s new around the island 🙂 I’ve made reservations at a restaurant Here on Lamma Island And if all goes well, and the weather holds,

We’ll be able to do a coffee shop, check out a record shop and then also hike to the other side Lamma Island is a popular weekend getaway spot for Hong Kongers It’s got a very laidback, tropical vibe We’re heading to the restaurant all the way over here

Lamma is popular for its seafood restaurants and hikes Walking through a strip of restaurants Next time I will try the dim sum here We’re now on the ‘main road’ Lamma is completely car-free Be prepared to dodge bicycles and these mini village vehicles We still have a few minutes before our table is ready,

So we’re just wandering the roads We’ve arrived at our destination! Through the kitchen and into the main seating area: Are we in Bali or Hong Kong? Haha Surprisingly the coffee is really good I recommend making a reservation if you want a seat by the terrace Our appetisers starting to roll in:

Maybe we’re used to eating at home, but we found some of the plates to be really salty Too bad the sun isn’t out Sunset would be so nice here! Waiting for our last entree that takes 40 minutes to cook This is worth the wait!

Wandering into this shop that sells locally printed graphic tees Vintage Hong Kong inspired design Heading over to a coffee shop that’s at the end of the main road A coffee shop on the ground floor of a residential apartment The cafe has a music theme haha 🎹 Island opening hours

There was so much foam, it was more like a cappuccino This shop has been on my bucket list: Who would’ve thought there’s a vinyl record shop in the middle of Lamma? With a good selection of jazz! They also sell cassette tapes and CDs The owner kindly let us try some records

She also recommended some records so we could have a listen Victor found a Nat King Cole gem we don’t have The price isn’t lower than shops online but we bought one to support a small business! A classic pitstop for hikers and beachgoers A kettle of ginger syrup

This stall sells only hot or cold tofu pudding Honestly I come here because it’s a tradition when you head to the beach Is it the most amazing tofu? No but it’s been around forever! We are now heading to the beach There’s an aesthetic teahouse I want to check out there!

The slowest hiker award goes to: There’s a power station in the distance Not a beach with the prettiest view but we will ignore it haha You can easily miss the entrance to the teahouse I am rushing because I realized they close in 45 minutes! Island life… Today’s tea menu:

Welcome to a teahouse in a forest The greenhouse is full of plants and sculptures made by the owner himself We were told to let the tea steep for 3 minutes before enjoying The owner is playing Sufjan Stevens which really sets the mood ✨🌱

The herbs for the tea come straight from the garden So the tea menu is always changing! I feel like we’re in a world of ‘Benji Plant’ right now Some TikTok plant cafe I’ve tried to grow plants but I’m really bad at it haha I will admire other people’s green thumbs 💚

There’s a lot going on here- you need time to look around at all the details Spotted this cozy ledge for a solo traveler You won’t feel lonely in the company of plants They only open for the weekend so make sure to come only then!

We decide not to finish the hike and walk 20 minutes back to the pier We want to catch the ferry back before dinner- But if you do the hike, grab a seafood dinner on the other side! Bye bye, Lamma

Grabbing a quick bite before going to a special night at the museum M+ is hosting a ‘Hong Kong street culture’ night It’s pretty cool to see the whole building washed in purple neon We accidentally came too late for the live-painting session 😅 They had various workshop booths and performances around the museum

All the galleries are open! There were a few more DJ sets but we decide to head out for a nightcap Hong Kong is sparkling ✨ We’re back again Originally we were going to a bar in Central but this is closer to M+ Trying our luck with walk-in

Originally we sat outside on the patio (not the best to hear the whole band) But eventually got moved inside once a table cleared! Hope you guys enjoyed another week in Hong Kong!

this became a foodie tour haha
