7 advantages and disadvantages between rural and city life Poland from the perspective of a German
Today we’re going to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of living in the country here in Poland and also go into a little bit about the differences between living in the country and living in a big city here in Poland. That and much more right after the intro.
Hello again at this point and welcome to my YouTube channel. A few months ago I made a video about the most livable cities in Poland. I’ll put the video in the video description for you later. Then you are
Welcome to take a look at it when you get the chance. After watching this video, I also got one or two reactions or even a request as to whether I could perhaps report on what life is like in the Polish countryside. I personally have no experience of what life in the
Country is like, as I have never lived in the country myself. I live in Łódź, which is now the fourth largest city in Poland in terms of population . Was recently overtaken by Breslau. But we can easily see that I don’t live in the country but in a large town. But we
Have a lot of relatives and acquaintances who live more in the suburbs of big cities or live more in the countryside or in small towns. I think I can then tell you one thing or another about what life is like there in the country or what I saw with my own eyes
Or what my feeling about the whole thing is. Of course, I also talked to one or the other here and there. Of course, you can then perhaps report on it. Before we delve deeper into the main topic, I would like to know which life you prefer more. So if you
Have the opportunity to emigrate to Poland, would you rather move to a big city or would you rather choose a small city or more rural areas. Please leave me your reasoning in the comments. I would really be interested in that. Later I will also
Tell you what my view of the whole thing is and my personal opinion on this whole point of living in the country and living in the big city. Now let’s get straight to the advantages and disadvantages when it
Comes to country life. One thing that I feel or that I can see myself because I live in a big city is, for example, all the traffic and smog. It has to be said that
It is of course much louder in big cities. There are a lot more traffic jams here. Especially at rush hour it is sometimes problematic here, at least here in Łódź, to somehow get from point A to point B without somehow planning 1 hour or 1.5 hours of time. Of course also
All the smog. Of course that doesn’t happen. And if you live somewhere in the center, the air is of course not the cleanest. You have to say it very clearly. Personally, I now live a bit more on the outskirts of the city. We also have
A forest not far away. We chose it that way because I do n’t think I could imagine living like that in the middle of the city center. Personally, that would simply be far too chaotic and far too loud for me. Of course, everything looks much different in the country. Of course
The air is much, much cleaner there. There is a lot of space there. A lot is grown there. It’s also inevitable that the farmer drives his tractor and brings the fertilizer, how should you put it? Throwing things around? Of course, this may not be the most popular
Smell in terms of smell. But it’s much healthier than breathing in exhaust fumes all the time and smelling them. Therefore, you can definitely say that country life is much quieter. At least when it comes to traffic. It’s cleaner. It’s, I would say, much more relaxed. But let’s digress
A little more from this topic now. While we’re on the subject of air pollution, perhaps traffic, let’s now also look at the infrastructure. One thing that has to be said is, of course, that the infrastructure in large cities is much better developed. You have more options
To get anywhere from point A to point B. That is also very clear. What I have experienced here myself when we go somewhere Your relatives are driving somewhere outside of the big cities and there’s a construction site somewhere, then
You’re sometimes standing there for 20, 30, 40 minutes. Because the problem in the countryside is very often that you usually, not always, but usually only have one road leading in. And a road that leads out too. If there is a construction site on this street, traffic jams
Sometimes build up there. This is also annoying and problematic. Fortunately, it is the case that these roads in particular will be renewed perhaps once in 10 or 15 years. So of course this is not an everyday occurrence. It must also be said that in large cities the construction sites
Are of course much larger and gigantic. In more rural areas they are of course smaller. It’s the same if you want to use regular services, for example. Well, I myself have experienced in small towns that there isn’t even any regular service there. So
There is no public bus that runs in the city. There is no tram that runs there in any way. If you really want to get around somewhere in the small town or village , you either have the option of using the bike, which is perhaps
Now much healthier to use the bike. You go on foot. Or you are also mobile yourself and have a car. Then you somehow have the opportunity to move around there. What I also experienced myself is that in small towns or villages there are only buses that
Then lead outside the city or outside the village, to the nearest towns or to big cities. Of course, I would say that’s a disadvantage if you can actually only move around in this way. In large cities, the infrastructure is of course much better developed. There are bus stations everywhere where you
Can go from point A to point B. That is of course more pleasant. Personally, I think I would have less of a problem with it if there were no public bus , since I travel a lot by bike anyway. Even in bad weather. For
Me personally, this probably wouldn’t be a big disadvantage. Of course, that always depends on your personal situation. But if, for example, you somehow pick up the child from kindergarten or school with children and then there is a storm,
Then that might be an advantage if you have a car, for example. Or maybe the child can get on a bus and then drive home instead of walking through the pouring rain . That’s why I would say infrastructure in rural areas is
Also a disadvantage in my opinion. I’ve already said in a few videos that I sometimes have the feeling that a lot of people build on each other here in Poland. If you live somewhere in a residential area you have fewer parking spaces or no parking spaces at all. So you really have
More cars and parking spaces. Which then causes people to park on the sidewalk or park in the middle of the street. Because they simply have no other option. Of course, this problem rarely or never occurs in rural areas. There you have a lot, a lot, a lot, more space. If there
Are houses there, of course everyone basically has their own parking space. Or if you don’t have your own private parking space, you still have space to park your car somewhere without bothering anyone. Even if apartment blocks are built there somewhere, there will
Also be enough parking spaces built there because there is simply enough space there and you can expand there a little more. So I would say that when it comes to space, it is of course much more spacious on land and you can
Move around more freely there. Even when it comes to cycle paths or walking paths, there is much, much, more space there, at least in my personal opinion. One thing I noticed too. Whenever I went somewhere to visit relatives in the villages, there was a bit of social life there
Works differently than in big cities. It’s no secret that if you go to a village where, for example, there are only 50, 60, 70 inhabitants, everyone there really knows everyone. Which I personally think is nice. The people there support each other. They help each other there.
If there is a celebration somewhere, it’s not like that everywhere, but it happens very often that, I would say, the whole village is invited and then we just celebrate together. I think that social life or social life with one another is much stronger, much more
Pronounced. You also have to say that people, especially the older people, the older generation who live in the country, are a bit more conservative. They also have that same attitude to life. That’s how they were taught, that they
Should just lead this life. So you shouldn’t misunderstand what I’m saying now. But I think you know what I mean. That’s just how they were taught and of course, in my opinion, it’s a nice life if you can always support each other. If you
Can help yourself. When you know your neighbor as well as you know your best friend. This is of course very, very nice. In big cities things are a little different. So if I’m talking about myself
Here, for example . When I’m here in Łódź now. This is now the second apartment where I live. For example, we only rented the first apartment. There was hardly any greeting in the hallway. Things are different
Here where I live now . So I get along very well with my neighbors here. People also greet each other. But in the first apartment, for example, people hardly greeted each other.

Was ist Dualität?
Hello!
I was born in Lodz and I am glad You feel good over there. Your observations about country folks are 100% coprrect. Greetings from Sweden!
Dobra diagnoza 👍 Za… i Przeciw…
