うどんを食べた帰りに、ジャンボフェリー「あおい」で高松から神戸まで乗船。
Hello everyone, I came to Takamatsu on the sleeper express Sunrise Seto. I said the same thing last time at Sunrise Seto, but it’s also the purpose of this time. I came here to eat delicious udon.
Takamatsu Station is also the terminal station and is quite a large station. Since it was a weekday, there were people going to work, but for those who live in Osaka, it felt like a holiday morning.
From the observation deck of Takamatsu Symbol Tower, I could see the Olive Line heading for Shodoshima passing by. Shodoshima is in the back on the right. This time, instead of this ferry, we will be boarding a jumbo ferry that goes to Kobe Port.
If I ever come to Takamatsu, I’ll definitely go eat there! I came to Udonbo, my favorite udon restaurant. When I come here, I always eat hot bukkake. This time, I ordered grated bukkake and toriten. The udon stick bukkake is really delicious. It’s a complete meal. Thank you for the meal.
Board the Jumbo Ferry shuttle bus from Takamatsu Station bus stop in front of Takamatsu Symbol Tower. The shuttle bus arrived at 1:30pm. The bus was wrapped in Jumbo Ferry wrapping.
It’s quite easy to depart from Takamatsu Port, but the Jumbo Ferry departs from Takamatsu Higashi Port, so it’s a little further away. It’s a long distance to walk. However, it’s only about 10 minutes by bus.
There are no buses bound for Takamatsu East Port from Takamatsu Station, so we have no choice but to rely on this free shuttle bus. This is the jumbo ferry “Aoi” that we will be boarding today to Kobe. This is a ferry that debuted in 2022.
The jumbo ferry departs from Takamatsu East Port at exactly 2:00 p.m., passes through Shodoshima Sakate Port, and arrives at Kobe Port at 6:45 p.m. It’s a 4 hour and 45 minute boat trip.
Now, let’s go through the boarding procedures. When you get off the bus and enter the entrance, you are greeted by an artificial grass carpet. It was a very beautiful passage. It’s a large waiting space. Even so, there aren’t many people. Maybe it’s because it’s a weekday.
All ferry companies have game consoles, but I don’t think they need them. But since it exists, are there some users? Boarding procedures will be completed at the counter. Most people buy their tickets online, so head straight to the boarding gate.
The ferry departs about 20 minutes after getting off the shuttle bus, so the counter procedures are a bit hectic. Buying tickets online is definitely recommended. Is it still new? The aisles are very beautiful. Chairs are lined up along the aisle, but I wonder if anyone is waiting here.
Fans and air conditioners are evenly spaced on the walls. It’s such a luxurious way to use it. This was also a little strange. This passage must be quite hot in the summer. I was surprised at the number of air conditioners.
I always take big ferries, so I had an image of an escalator, and when I saw the stairs, I thought, Wow! I felt like screaming.
This staircase may be difficult for elderly people with luggage. In that case, it would be a good idea to consult with a staff member. I’m sure it will help. You can board the ship by scanning the QR code on your ticket at this self-ticket gate.
Of course, if you are purchasing online, you can do so from your smartphone. Now, let’s board the ferry. Let’s go up using the stairs. Suddenly, a trailer appeared. The structure is completely different from the ferries I’ve been on before. The deck is exposed, making it look like an aircraft carrier.
We finally arrived at the entrance on the second floor of the ship. Now, let’s enter the lobby on the second floor. Wow, what a beautiful space. It was played automatically on an upright piano. If I could play freely, I would have loved to play. There
Is also a cafe and souvenir shop that you can use later. There were unreserved seats, with priority seating for people with physical disabilities, pregnant women, and the elderly, and a seat in the back where you could eat. There is another free seating area on the same floor.
Most of the other areas are premium seats, so you won’t have to pay extra. Unreserved seats cost 1,890 yen from Takamatsu to Kobe via internet. If you return using JR, it will cost you about 4,000 yen, so the ferry is cheap.
Discover an unusual kids room, a stone playground? ah! I see, in the past, stones from Shodoshima were used for the stone walls of Osaka Castle, so perhaps they were made with that as a motif. Well thought out.
When I see a stylishly separated trash can, I feel like I want to throw things away properly. At the back of the non-reserved seats, there is an automatic door that allows you to access the deck. It is known as the old battlefield of the Genpei War. The roof-shaped Yashima is clearly visible.
The weather is nice today, so we can enjoy a nice view of the Seto Inland Sea. I went up to the third floor. From here, you can clearly see the blue and white border line of the funnel.
When you go up to the 4th floor above it, you will come to the lawn area, which is the roof of the top of the ferry. Above it is a deck called Sky Terrace, with an arched bridge called Smile Stage.
The ship slowly left Takamatsu Higashi Port. It’s a small place with only a few seats, but this is the space where you can eat. Since the restaurant is located in Takamatsu, many different types of udon are sold there. I think I’ll eat it later too.
The shop had Sanuki udon noodles and Shodoshima specialties. I bought some olive flavored cookies. It is a self-checkout system, so you can operate it yourself. I’m not good at this kind of thing and often fail. Actually, I failed this time as well. I was relieved that I managed to purchase it safely.
This is the vending machine corner on the 3rd floor. It may be a little expensive, but I think that’s about the same price as a ferry. Frozen foods are also available. It’s great that it’s easy to eat.
We had tickets for the ferry bus. Normally it costs 210 yen, but it was sold for 200 yen. But it’s sold out. Let’s go from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor, which is the rooftop floor. When you open the door, there is a windproof opening that makes it easy to open.
The scenery is amazing, and as expected, there are many islands in the Setouchi Inland Sea. Look, this view was really nice because it was sunny. The sunlight reflected on the sea surface and it was very beautiful.
I can see the wake of the ferry. I kind of like wakes. There were trucks and trailers on the deck. It is an unusual layout that can only be seen on jumbo ferries.
There is a passageway that allows you to go to the bottom of the funnel. This kind of thing is like a maze and is a fun production.
It’s cold at this time of year, so you can’t relax on the deck, but if the weather is nice, it’s nice to sit and enjoy the scenery. I returned to my room. The entrance from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor is a space that you wouldn’t expect to find inside a ferry.
On the third floor, there was also a bench modeled after the barrels used to make soy sauce on Shodoshima. There was a Santa and a tree in front of the cycle pit on the second floor, as it was close to Christmas.
Soon we will arrive at Sakate Port on Shodoshima. STU48’s song “Setouchi no Koe” is being played on the ship’s broadcast. It is good, is not it? I feel like the song matches the jumbo ferry that enters Sakate Port on Shodoshima. No matter how many times I see this view,
The mysterious mountain in front of me that looks like a square rock is called Otake. Sakate Port on Shodoshima came into view. We are landing on shore. Those boarding the ship to Kobe will not be able to get off. Be careful. Several cars arrived from Shodoshima.
The gate was raised and we departed from Sakate Port. Departing from Sakate Port. I felt like I was ready to set sail right away. Kenji Yanobe’s Star Anger, a silver ball with thorns, caught my eye. Apparently, it is lit up from after sunset until 11:30pm.
I was getting hungry, so I decided to eat udon noodles in the dining area for lunch. I was hesitant, but I chose Sanuki Lemon Udon. The udon I ate for lunch was so delicious that I will not comment on it. Thank you for the meal.
For dessert, I had MINORI gelato. Choose the soy sauce crumble and sake lees flavors. In the cup were two flavors of gelato, cookies, and dried lemon fruit. It had a light taste and was very delicious. From Izumiotsu, I passed Funeko’s Hankyu Ferry Hibiki. Please go to Shinmoji Port.
I wanted to take a picture of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the sunset, but the sun had already set and it was a night scene. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this. Next time I’m here, I’ll take pictures of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the sunset!
It was cold outside, so I took a nap and took a picture of the night view of Kobe Port from the window, but the image turned out dirty. Sorry. I’m glad you took pictures of the mosaic Ferris wheel, Oriental Hotel, Luminous, and other things that represent Kobe.
You can see the rock of Miyazaki Car Ferry. I’ve never been on a ship before, so I’d like to do it next time. It uses the same terminal as the jumbo ferry we boarded this time. “Aoi” has arrived at the shore. Now, let’s disembark.
It took 4 hours and 45 minutes from Takamatsu, and I felt restless and a little tired, probably because I usually ride the ferry comfortably in a private room. Once you have the luxury, unreserved seats are tough.
However, it was nice to be able to take a cheap boat ride from Takamatsu to Kobe. thank you very much. Please note that there are restrictions on where you can go on the Aoi Sanko Ferry unless you use a premium seat.
Also, it is recommended that you only board the boat during daylight hours. That’s all for this video. Thank you for your continued support. If you like, please subscribe to the channel. See you again in the next video.
