息子と行く!都心から1時間 房総半島タンデムツーリング【Harley-Davidson Lowrider S】

Daiichi Keihin, National Route 15, Ota, Tokyo I went on a touring trip to Chiba Prefecture on a holiday in December. I went out with a towel, thinking, “It’s cold so I’ll probably take a hot spring.” I was surprised at how warm it was in the morning.

This course will take you to Chiba using the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line and the Ken-O Expressway. First, we headed to a dam that caught our attention after seeing it in a photo. Continue to visit scenic spots such as waterfalls and observation parks

A day trip about 200km from Tokyo where you can end up in a hot spring. This time I was in tandem with my middle school son, so I took plenty of breaks. I chose a short course so I could get home before it got dark. Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture Industrial Road Daishi Bridge

Mornings on holidays are my favorite time as there are few cars. On this day, I could see the Tama River and Mt. Fuji from the bridge. Aqualine entrance, National Route 409, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture We made it this far without any congestion.

Crossing Tokyo Bay on the Aqua Line and aiming for Chiba Prefecture The 9.6km long tunnel has come to an end. The exit has a gentle uphill slope and the visibility is wide open. On a sunny day, it feels like you’re moving toward the sky. Chiba Prefecture Tokyo Bay Aqua Line Kisarazu Toll Gate

Chiba Prefecture Ken-O Expressway Lake Takataki PA (inner loop) We’re almost at our destination IC, but we’ll take a short break. After taking a break, I headed to the expressway exit. Chiba Prefecture Ken-O Expressway Ichihara Tsurumai IC Exit I arrived at my destination IC exit in about 50 minutes from Tokyo.

You will soon come to a T-junction with National Route 297. Turn right and head towards Otaki. Otaki Town, Chiba Prefecture National Route 297 Otaki Highway Otaki Kaido is a main road that traverses the Boso Peninsula. Therefore, the road is well maintained and easy to drive on.

There is a section where there is a 99-fold turn as you enter Otaki Town. As soon as you enter Otaki Town, you will see an area dotted with stores. After having a quick breakfast at a convenience store, we headed towards National Route 465. Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 82

If you follow National Route 465 for about 5 minutes, it will branch off to Prefectural Route 82. Turn right at the sign and drive for about 5km. Today we will aim for the first destination [Arakine Dam] Walk for about 10 minutes and you’ll see a sign on the right.

It’s a small signboard, so if it’s your first time, it’s best to have a navigation system. Arakine Dam, Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture Arakine Dam has few people and the location is good. Great for walking around the dam on a sunny day

It was a very quiet and peaceful place surrounded by mountains and greenery. Return the way you came and continue along Prefectural Route 82 again. Just by veering off the main road, you’ll find yourself on a pleasant road full of greenery. The Boso Peninsula is my favorite touring area.

Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 82 Ichinogo Intersection The next one is about 18km or 25 minutes from the dam. Head to Awamata Falls, the largest waterfall on the Boso Peninsula Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture National Route 297 Sano Intersection Otaki Town, Isumi District, Chiba Prefecture National Route 465 Kurohara Intersection

National Route 465 is the main road that crosses the Boso Peninsula. Rich in nature, you can enjoy beautiful scenery in every season. Otaki-cho, Isumi-gun, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 178 Oikawa Crossroad Turn onto the prefectural road and proceed along the Yoro River.

There are many sightseeing spots, famous places, and hiking trails along the river. Awamata Falls, Otaki Town, Isumi District, Chiba Prefecture If you have a motorcycle, we recommend parking in the free parking lot in front. A short walk from the parking lot will take you to the entrance to the valley.

It is a few minutes walk from the entrance to the waterfall. Descend while enjoying the surrounding scenery The same was true for the dam, but the water level was low due to drought. This is interesting because it allows you to cross places you can’t normally go.

Since the water level was low, we were able to stand on the waterfall. Even though it was December, it was so cheerful that I wanted to eat ice cream. The bike feels great after sweating a little. From here, return to No. 465 and head to your next destination.

Kameyama Dam, Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Turn left from Route 465 and head towards Kameyama Dam. As soon as you turn, you’ll see a quaint red bridge. Kameyama Dam is an area rich in nature and has lodging facilities. You can enjoy boating and fishing, and there is also a campsite.

Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 24 Kururi Kaido Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 92 Boso Skyline From here, continue along the Boso Skyline for approximately 10km to Nishiawakura. Boso Skyline is a popular touring spot You can enjoy the gentle winding winding and the view from the open area.

I’m also happy that this road can be used for free. Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 93 Kururi Kanoyama Minato Line After the Skyline, we took a 40 minute break and lunch at a restaurant. From here, head to [Shikanoyama Kujukutani Observation Park]

The route is a well-maintained mountain road with a gentle uphill climb. Kanoyama Kujukutani Observation Park, Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture This park is a simple park with only toilets and benches. The folding mountains are beautiful and I think it’s a place worth coming to.

If the conditions are right and you’re lucky, you can even see a sea of clouds. We took a break at the observation park and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Today we will head to our final destination [Koitokawa Onsen] Located 6km or 10 minutes from the park.

Hot springs in the cold season allow you to experience the real pleasure of touring even more. After passing through the countryside and continuing for a while, you will see an entrance on the right. There is a sign at the entrance, but it may be a little hard to see.

It’s safer to check the location on your navigation system as you head towards the destination. The parking lot is a gravel road. I think it’s fine even with heavy bikes because it’s tight. Koitokawa Onsen, Hiwatane, Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture It’s a wonderful hot spring filled with a nostalgic atmosphere.

I can’t get enough of this atmosphere in the smoking area. The thick, black hot springs flowing directly from the source will leave you feeling smooth after taking a bath. It was a happy time soaking in a hot spring with my son.

I’m sorry to leave you behind, but I’ll be heading back to Tokyo before it gets dark. Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Prefectural Route 92 Kimitsu Kamogawa Line On the way home, use the Tateyama Expressway from Kimitsu IC.

If there are no traffic jams, you can get to Tokyo in about 50 km in less than an hour. Boso Shiki no Kura, Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture I decided to buy some souvenirs at a facility near the expressway IC and go home. I’ll buy some souvenirs and take the expressway home from here.

It’s past 3pm and the sun is setting Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture Tateyama Expressway Kimitsu IC On holidays, the Aqua Line upstream is crowded in the evening. If you want to avoid traffic jams, leave Chiba prefecture around noon. I think it’s best to kill time and leave Chiba prefecture after 8pm.

Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture Tateyama Expressway Kisarazu JCT Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture Tokyo Bay Aqua Line Umihotaru PA I got stuck in a bit of traffic at the Kisarazu toll gate. Thanks to my slow driving, I was able to see the sunset over Tokyo Bay. Ukishima JCT, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture

Haneda, Ota-ku, Tokyo Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo Shuto Expressway Wangan Line Oi Minami Exit I was able to get back before it got dark. This time it was a 200km round trip tour from Tokyo to the Boso Peninsula. It might have been a good distance without getting tired in tandem.

Showa Shell Self GS, Ota-ku, Tokyo The Boso Peninsula is a familiar area that can be reached in one hour from Tokyo. It is an attractive place where you can enjoy many sightseeing spots and rich nature. I hope this video will be helpful for your travels.
