The Long & Winding Road – Ehime

Project 47: Episode 11 — Ehime Prefecture

In this episode of Project 47, I ride into Ehime Prefecture to begin my journey across the island of Shikoku.

Ehime tests me immediately. A fast-moving, unpredictable storm front traps me in my tent for nearly 24 hours — heavy rain, gale-force winds, and nowhere to go.

But this region of Japan gives back just as quickly.

Through unexpected encounters and quiet acts of kindness, I’m reminded why I’m doing this journey in the first place. Just as I begin to lose direction, a stranger steps in — and with a single act of generosity, momentum returns.

Ehime is not defined here by spectacle or scale, but by atmosphere — coastal wind, mountain silence, aging machines, old stories, and the people who carry them.

What begins as a test of endurance becomes a meditation on momentum — how easily it’s lost, and how unexpectedly it can return.

This is not a travel vlog.
It is a cinematic road documentary — a study of place, patience, and the moments that change direction.

  1. I've been on this channel since the beginning and have loved every single video. I don't usually comment, but this put a smile on my face, I'm really happy for you that you got to ride in that Cobra. Thank you for your incredible work.

  2. That's a lovely part of Ehime, if it's not raining. I found Ehime drivers are in a hurry, about 20kmh above the legal limit, as you experienced. Not as relaxed drivers as in Kyushu. Safe ride.

  3. What a fun episode with some great scenery! I really wonder what was up that narrow sketchy road. But man the people working at Junkyard are so amazing that they just do all of that out of the kindness of their hearts. Those are the kind of people we need in the world. And dang does the owner look cool in his suit. I wish I was that cool. I was disappointed that one road was closed, but what you discovered was so much better.

  4. Nice video again . Matsuyama Castle looks cool. And to see your best U- Turn in your life was excellent. What a cool owner and shop, the atmosphere in that shop and when you went to that Rockabilly
event reminded me of Japan before the bubble burst. I am happy to follow along cheers bro.

  5. How can your videos keep getting better and better 👍 That overtake by that van was scary and camping in that rain storm. So glad you stopped and stayed overnight to see that car show and hang out with your new friends. That little voice in our heads is always right 🙏

  6. Awesome episode Adam 🤩
You sure surf the waves, up and down, up and down 😀
How did the adv tent survived the storm ? No scratch ? No water infiltration ? It sure took a beating, I'm curious about the report since we have the same tent. I just survived 50/60 km/h wind with it but no heavy rain like this, well you spent a day under a storm.. that's something big.

(for real, I would love to roam japans roads with you, it's so pretty, forest everywhere, it's incredibly green, I get it you don't show all the boring roads but still .. they are so good, eventually vegetation on the border but alway in perfect condition)

  7. Bro, such a wonderful place. Awesome that you stumbled upon a festival and got to ride your dream car. Those are the places i want to visit one day, and we definitely need more people thats giving in this world.

  8. Hi Adam, thanks for sharing another great video.
I love how little twists and turn in decisions can bring so much opportunity such as you turning around to go back the the garage and check out those amazing cars.
That Cobra was amazing. I’m quite jealous 🤣.
    Such welcoming people too.
I’ve caught up watching all your other videos now so I’m back on track.
Looking forward to your next episode in Kochi.
    Ride safe.
    Steve 🇬🇧

  9. i'll be doing a trip to Shikoku in May, but as a tourist it's hard to rent a motorcycle for multiple days at a reasonable price. This looks like so much fun!
