Have you heard of Sakurajima or ‘Cherry Blossom Island’? It’s a beautiful place in Kagoshima, Japan, famous for its daily eruptions. But don’t worry, these eruptions won’t disrupt your travels! The island’s communities are used to them, as they happen hundreds of times yearly.

Sakurajima is home to a few thousand residents, schools, shrines, and shops, and it’s only 15 minutes away from Kagoshima City by ferry⛴️

The area within a 2km radius of the volcano’s crater is prohibited for safety reasons. However, you can still experience the rugged beauty of the volcano by taking an e-bike tour. The tour will be guided by an authorized guide who will take you to the point just before the 2km radius of the crater, from where you can witness the volcano up close 🌋

Once the tour is over, the tour guide will take you to a nearby area to unwind and relish the finest local tea and Sakurajima komikan (the world’s smallest mandarin!).
