Luv your work mate. I went to Koh Samat couple of days before new years 40 years ago, place was booked out. No road no town, I went for a run to the southern tip looking for somewhere to stay, all those little coves were empty then. Spent the night near the pier with a local family in there home then went back to Pattaya next day.
Keep up the good work and keep on enjoying life.

I can’t share your enthousiasme regarding an expensive resort. Their beach is beautiful, but rooms… Those yellow walls, lack of light, everything looks old-fashion in a bad way….Fortunately we all have different tastes
We were at that beach about 25 years ago, way before the resort was there. We rode a really dodgy track to get there on a moped and sat on that beach, no-one else was there. We found a piece of driftwood on the beach with some weird living tentacles squirming around on it, to this day I've never found out what it was. There was also a resteraunt out to sea which you had to use a pulley system that towed you to the resteraunt. Sadly I dont think i'd recognise the place anymore.

Thanks for the video ❤ I have to say I love to stay on koh samui. I've stayed in meny hotels always a villa . One I always stay at sandalwood villas up in the hills overlooking the whole island. Amazing place, ask for the Rose villa 3 bedrooms for around £ 200 a night that gives you a great idea of price . A huge pool very private. Robert the owner is a great guy and will look after you . Take a look maybe ..

100 baht for one hour rental. One day is actually quite expensive compared to any other places in Thailand. 450 is the norm on Samed. Which can go down to 400 with a bit of luck. In general I don't like the place very much. Too limited unless you only stay 2-3 nights. Not much to do. Those roadworks in the village have been going on for 2-3 years now. There's much better places if you are prepared to travel east and spend more hours on the road getting there. But you know that Paddy, having been there just a few days ago.

I first went to ko samet in 2005 … went first a run and ended up at a private resort beach front talking to a couple of Americans who were deep undercover after an op… I had to sign an nda after chatting to the male… let’s call them mr and mrs smith so the Jennifer A Stan’s don’t get all upset.

My wife and I stayed at that cheaper resort in 2010. And in Baan Siam which was the name of the bigger room on the beach itself.
We had an amazing holiday. Such a nice suprise for us both seeing that lovely resort again on your video. Made us smile on a cold English morning 😂🤣

I think 50 dollars is a much better value. 1000 dollars room is not 20 times better value. Maybe x 2 to 3 the most.
Paddy goes to the island and eats steak. 🤣😂 what's that about? Samet is lovely away from the crowds, but calling it the best island in Thailand would be a stretch. 1500 baht per night at the bungalows sounds like very good value for an island. 😊 I paid nearly that much 20 years ago on Samet.

For that price its not really luxury, for the same price you can get much more luxurious accommodations, six senses for example, ko yao noi.
The more affordable spot is sooooo much cooler 😎 real thai beach vibes 😎
