What you can see in front of you is the JR Sagano Line If you go to the right on the Sagano Line you will get to Nijo Station and beyond that is Kyoto Station

If you go left on the Sagano Line, you will get to Enmachi Station, and beyond that you will reach Saga Arashiyama and Kameoka This area was the center of Heiankyo in this little park Once upon a time there was the Daigokuden of Heian Palace Chodoin There are no buildings left now

However a fine stone monument indicates that there was a Daigokuden Heiankyo restoration illustration Illustration of Heiankyo Daigokuden Cyouga Around 1000 years ago It means that the current Imperial Palace and Kasumigaseki were located together From here on you will pass through the narrowest section of Rokkenmachi-dori

The road is as wide as Rokujo Dori which I used to drive on This area was called Enn No Matsubara during the Heiankyo period Enn No Matsubara This area was where the government office district of Heiankyo was located Apparently there was a vacant lot with nothing in it It’s a strange space

六軒町通（ろっけんまちとおり）
京都市上京区の上立売通から
中京区の御池通の一本北の通りを結ぶ道。
平安京の西坊城小路にあたる。
幹線道路である千本通の一筋西の道。
通り沿いに観光地もあるでもなく、
地域の生活道路となっている。
その為、京都西陣の古き良き街並みを感じられる
良い道となっている。

Rokkenmachi Street
From Kamidate Uri Street in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City
A road that connects one street north of Oike-dori in Nakagyo Ward.
It corresponds to Nishi Bojyou Koji in Heiankyo.
A road just west of Senbon-dori, the main road.
There are tourist spots along the street,
It has become a community road.
Therefore, you can feel the good old townscape of Nishijin, Kyoto.
It’s a good road.
