ついに座間味島に行ってきました!(日本)

Finally, finally it’s happening. I’m going to Zamami. I think this is Welcome to Ferry Zamame. This could be it. Let’s check. This is ticket two. Zami. Yes. Thank you. this time. Okay. Third third try this month to go to Zami to the beautiful Zami. Let’s take a look at the ship first. This Wow. I think we are sleeping on the floor. Most likely there are also chairs. Yeah, I see chairs. Maybe you have to pay extra for the sleeping option. It’s too sunny today. Let’s go take a look at the second floor. You can also sit outside. There is a vending machine. No smoring on this ship. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] First things first, that’s our boat. Now let’s go and find a cafe. I have saved one cafe, a beautiful cafe. And then then the plan is to go on a walk. I was thinking to maybe go and spend time on one or maybe two beaches, but now I’m kind of thinking of going all around. Let’s see how that works out. I have 4 hours until the return ferry. There is only one from what I know and I have a ticket for that one. And this may be dick of fair. [Music] There was a change of plans guys. I just got a bicycle from a man, Japanese man who loves Thailand, who loves India, a traveler, living here now and traveling every year. Let’s go and see the mommy. This way, we have a much higher chance to see more or less all of the mommy. That’s my plan to show you more or less all of Zumami so you have a better idea what this Okinawan island is like. I’m planning also to take a swim and my first impressions are really really good. I was thinking that this island is smaller with less things to do and see. But uh it looks comparable, very much comparable to Tokushiki. I have been to Tokushiki three times or four and I have tried to get here four times. So I’m very happy that I’m finally here. As you can see, you can also walk here. And there are also buses or a bus, one road, I believe only. Super super green island. I had no idea about these mountains that we can see here. Our first stop. Let’s take a look at this place from a little bit higher place. You don’t worry about such things like your bicycle on an island like this. You leave it so it doesn’t bother others. That’s the only thing. And you go. People don’t take things that aren’t theirs. Do we see the beach? H maybe no. Maybe this that’s just a pathway going around. Okay, let’s push on a little bit. No, I’m turning around. That’s cycle. Wow, Samami is nice. Really, really nice. And I see on the map that there are more accommodation options here than on Tokashiki. You can stay in one of those buildings here. Okay. The beach. Here is the beach. Let’s go and take a look. Do not chase the sea turtles. Never touch the sea turtles. the first beach. And wow, just look at this color of the water. I think I know why it took me so long to come here because I had to come here in the right weather. Not on a cloudy day, not on a rainy day, but on a perfect clear and sunny day whoa whoa. You can’t compare this emptiness in such a nice place to place like Thailand or Bali. We go further. And again I’ll ask you that question. Is this how you imagine Japan? It’s not what I was expecting of Japan when coming here for the first time some 18 or something months earlier. It’s a completely different site and I really really like it. I would be happy to see them developing all these places to making them better because unfortunately it looks like these places are being abandoned. People are leaving these small towns, small islands, leaving all of this behind. Well, it is what it is and uh I’m happy that I’m here having this chance, this opportunity to explore these islands. I’ll later count and write on the screen which Japanese island is it for me. Could be maybe eighth or ninth. It’s 1 point a bit kilometer until the end of the island. One corner of the island. The nearest one. Whoa. Unbelievable beauty and also such a tranquility quietness. No one’s bothering you. At first, I didn’t even realize that there are bicycle rentals because you don’t see them that easily. I had to go in to find this one. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I thought that Tokushiki is empty place with so many beautiful views and places where to stop. Wow. Wow. Wow. If you’re a digital moment, sit down here. Let me check the internet situation. Use 5G internet. 5G here and enjoy this scenery. The scenery of Yakib Yakabi Island. Kum Island. Tonaki. Kum. Where is Kum? Ah, small island in the distance. Oh, sites like this make me very very happy. Like this with no people. Such a beauty. We’ll go there. I saw a road going there to the left and then go back. Wow. Yeah, bicycle is a very smart choice here. Even though there are some heels, but it’s it’s not crazy difficult. But for now, for now, let’s sit down. Let’s eat some. What do I have here? Roasted mix. Mixed nuts. And what’s left? Some cashews. Walnut. Amazing. Yep. I’m happy that um the last times didn’t work out because the weather wasn’t that good. Now it’s just perfect. And what it is, it’s November 16th. I like November like this. Amazing. Some steep cycling. Bit of walking later. We see this. I was thinking not to go to this one, but then I noticed those cliffs. Wa. So close yet so different side. Only like a kilometer. And then I think I’m going there visiting all the corners of this beautiful island. Zamami again. No one. Two people came to that place and two people left this one just before me. This is the mame an island in Kama Shoto National Park. By the way, back at that place, they also had a Wi-Fi. I was joking about nomading from there, but no excuses anymore. If you’re a nomad, like being in nature, your place is there. Not easy. But I feel that the cycling that we did in Ishigaki this May, it’s helping me. It’s helping me. So beautiful. So hilly at some places. Oh, we’ll get there by walking, I guess. And again, nice, nice view. I’m not going down there. You can maybe even get to the beach there. It’s been 12 years of me traveling a lot, experiencing a lot, going to lots of places. I have been to 55 countries to many multiple times to several of several of them for 10 or more times like 20 times place like Thailand, Malaysia, spent almost a year in India and one thing that I think still can’t comprehend is how this has worked out that me a person from a small town with a very poor childhood that I’m doing this. It’s it’s hard to comprehend still after all those years. When I was a kid, when I was a teenager, up until the age of like 18, 19, I had never bought a bottle of Coca-Cola. For me, that was a luxury. I had tried Coca-Cola, but only when friends bought it. And yet now I’m having all these experiences. I’m seeing all these impressive places. I have had all these experiences, amazing experiences. I have met all those amazing people all because I tried. All because we we do not ride when traveling thinking that this may turn out to be a amazing adventure. Yep. It’s been an amazing adventure with lots of hardships and also lots of amazing memories. Another thing that I’m surprised about is this that still surprises me is when I hear how much money people spend living in one place very often for many in European countries in America eats more than what I’m spending. Also people in Latvia spend more not all but there are people quite a few who spend more living in one place than what I’m spending traveling between places. Yes, travel lifestyle can be pretty affordable if you plan, if you go to cheaper places, if you book things in advance, it can also be cheaper. pine trees. Amazing. But it can also be more expensive. Like for example, now I would like to spend maybe even a month now in Japan. Not sure how long I’m spending, but I haven’t yet made reservations. And when I look at what’s available and what are the options, what I realize now is that booking last minute now in November is pretty expensive. Places that normally if I booked in advance would cost me 50, 60 now can be like 100, 120, 140, 150, 200. and I h don’t know where I’m going and accordingly I cannot go everywhere where I would like to go. For example, I was looking at the place at the city. H there is a viewpoint. Let’s push for it. I was looking at the city called Fukoka where I have been a couple times or three times but where I would like to go again and explore more but there hotels are like €200 American dollars like 170 180uro a night now if I’m booking like at the last minute. So I don’t know I don’t know where I’m going. I don’t know how long I’m spending in Japan. We’ll see. But I’m super grateful for all these experiences that I’m having. Okay guys, we are getting to the viewpoint. Yet another viewpoint. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What can I say? Amazing. Amazing. To that side, I believe you can see the the town, the ferry terminal. I think I’ll be going down to the ferry terminal and to one beach that I have saved not far away from the ferry terminal and going for a swim. Most likely skipping the very lost corner of the island that I haven’t yet visited. Oh, yeah. I see the ferry terminal down there. Let’s look at the map. Tokashiki Island. We’ve been a few times to this beach and this beach and then this mountain. Haven’t been to this corner. And now the mommy looks like maybe don’t know maybe here is the port and then I did this but not the end and the other islands that are here. Zami is 6.7 square kilometers. Aka is like a half of it. Garuma like six times smaller. and Fugachi even more smaller. Okay guys, Furuzam Beach our next stop and the last stop. I have 1 hour and 15 minutes. So, a little bit more than 1 hour and I want to go on a little swim as well. And on that, we’ll finish the Zami tour. I’m super impressed. The island is smaller than Tokoshiki, but it’s comparable and in my opinion even better for you like a day trip destination. Tokashiki feels more wild like because there are fewer accommodation options but uh yeah, very very similar. And if you have time, and if you have time only for one, I would say just go for that one that you can get tickets for. Tokashiki is more popular, so it may be easier to get tickets for Zami and then get a squeaking bicycle and go on a ride around or get an electric bicycle or small electric car. I saw one one kilometer to the beach. Must be a bigger road somewhere nearby. I think I see it. Well, it’s easy to see why young people are leaving. Of course you want to many want to have more opportunities more more happening. Okay, I think this goes to the beach at the end. This is the small car that I said you can rent such a car. Oh, nope. We are turning around 1 kilometer and I have to go up a hill again to the beach. And these are electric bicycles. The furry terminals to the left. No swimming. Okay. Looks like swimming is happening a bit further. See you soon. Most likely still from Japan. See you. [Music]

Zamami Island, Okinawa. In this Japan vlog, I’m taking a ferry from Naha to Zamami Island – finally, after several tries, I’m making this journey. My impressions of Zamami? It’s an amazing day trip destination from Naha.
