Drink strong ethoses. Ride together, die together. Yeah. But we had to make a team decision there. We ride together in parallel so we can ride together. We ride. You just need to see the video when it’s done. We were we were in constant communication. It was It was a a tale of two ships. I don’t know. I’m not a I’m not a a tale of two ships sailing in the night. You like the 502s. In the same direction we were going in the same direction. We’re just a different path. We had the same goal. Yeah. And we made it. Nobody got left behind. Okay. We need to stop at a convenience store before we make a mile here. Okay. We got 54K. According to Colin, it’s all downhill, which whenever I’ve said that, I’ve been faced with huge climbs. It’s not all downhill. But I’m only doing the downhill sections. Oh, can we get a rope? I am climbed out. Yesterday, uh Brad and I climbed and climbed and climbed and when we couldn’t climb anymore, we just started climbing. Okay. And when you thought you hadn’t climbed enough, you climbed more. We climbed more and more and more. We climbed for 4 hours straight. Like 9 10% grades. It was like this. I got some good news. Okay. But on the right hand side after the ya, I’m going to put balls there. Show you. Show you. Show you balls. I don’t know why that’s funny, but it’s just it’s funny things that come to your brain sometimes when you’re on the road. I guess shout out to Teada Q Hostel. The idea of a hostel sounds like a scary thing, but I’ll tell you what, in Japan and this place in particular, incredible. Hey, there’s our room. There’s our room. The one on the right we stayed in. Tim and I Tim and I were bunkies yesterday. Brad got Brad got a solo. Oh, we’re showing we’re showing the group our uh our our YouTube stream. We’re showing them where we stayed and we’re This is our hostess last night. She looked after us. Her and her husband owned this beautiful, beautiful hostel. Good breakfast. Good breakfast. A good ser. Good. We did a We did a whiskey tasting and uh shou and what was the drink you made? The cocktail. Kabosu. Kabosu. Kabosu. Yeah. It’s kind of like a lime whiskey. Is it whiskey? Whiskey. Whiskey and kabosu. Right. Kabosu. And h Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Is it kabucha? No, it’s like a lime kind of. Yeah. It’s a local favorite. Kabuch. Okay. Kabosu. Anyway, this is an old 90 years old this hotel. Yes. Uh this uh house. Yeah. Not always. So you said it was a cosmetics uh yes store 90 years ago and then converted. What was it before you bought it? Ah so uh it’s uh just empty for 10 years. So nobody uh living here. And what was it? No no no business. What was it like in there after 10 years? Was there a lot of damage? Um, so this roof and the wall is uh the owner the older deformed and the one so not the important damage. Nothing serious. It’s in very good shape. It’s be it’s such a beautiful property. I need to actually go. Can I go fill up my water? It’s okay. Okay. Okay. We already left and checked out and we’ve been outside for the last hour getting ready. They’re probably sick of us. They want us to leave. But you can’t get rid of us that easily. Okay. Okay. Hey, Brad. I kind of got my hands full here. Can you put my bike aside? Whoa. We’re going to be leaving here soon, guys. Is he annoyed at us? I think maybe. I think he is cuz we said we’re going to stay. Yeah. Well, Colin moved up his boat on his own. Yeah. So, he was he was riding a high last. He was. Yeah, that’s true. He’s ready to move here. Good. Back on the bike. I’m going to go take a picture of this waterfall. Okay. Okay, engine’s on the road. Okay. Okay. Okay. Byebye. See you. There’s our other guy. Yosh. Okay. So, this we still are we still live? This little hill here, this this rock. This is really interesting. There’s a bunch of these big rocks that are jutting out here. And the crazy thing about these rocks is that uh they’re actually they’re not mountains, they’re rocks. And what I mean by that is they were actually launched there when the Mount Aso volcano when the Asso volcano exploded 90 what did they say 90 90,000 years ago. This is actually a rock that was shot here. It flew here and then landed and now it lives here. And there’s a few of them around here. They’re just debris from exploding volcano. That’s That’s bananas. That is absolutely bananas. Uh this town this town is magic. Oh, look at the look at the waterfalls here, you guys. Look at this. Wow. Take it off for the group. This town has got it all. It’s just quiet. They said a thousand people live in this town. Yeah, but I think you got a thousand in this this city. Old ruins area. There’s the train station where we picked up Tim last night after his adventure. And the onen that I went to was just down there. Great onen. If you’re coming to Japan, you got to you if you have the ability, come to come to Tea. I I I can’t stress that enough. This is the best town I’ve been to in Japan. And there’s three towns that sound like it, too. Oh, yeah. Not Teada. Teta or Takata. Look at that. The sign there, it shows the temperature. It’s already 29°. 6 is minus. Yeah. 10 uh 10:00 in the morning. 29°. All right. Ready? Ready? Yeah. All right. Let’s go. That mountain is lit up in the evening with the waterfall. It’s just so scenic, so picturesque. Naked lady there. Statue. [Music] [Music] That’s the onen down there that I went to. What sign though we should hear about? Japanese hot. Oh yeah, Japanese hot. Good point, Brad. Look at that temple’s cut into the mountain on the side. You see that, Brad? Into the rock. It looks like there’s a house there, too. Right on the side of Wow. Yeah. So, we went for supper. It was It was And I both agree. It was the first bad meal we’ve had in Japan. It wasn’t just bad. parts of it were actually inedible. It was a chunku chunk nab like hot pot, but it had this this meat. We don’t know what it was. Um, I actually could not actually chew it. I don’t just mean like it was kind of gristly or whatever. I mean I physically couldn’t break it up with my teeth. I spit out and I tried got out of I was being rude. You’re like this [ __ ] gross. Oh, come on. And the chef is beside you. Come on. I like to start the morning off with a big climb. Bring back the memories from yesterday. Yeah, my legs, they’re not feeling any better. Nope. Could have used a day of recovery, but we got to push on. We’re time is a factor today. Yeah, we got to be there by 3:30. We only really have what, 3 days of riding. Oh, tunnel. So, there’s a real possibility we might lose cell signal here. I guess we’ll find out. If we lose you, we’ll try and pick you up in a little bit. Lost garment. You lost your garment already? Oh, the satellite. Oh, the street. Which way are we going? Looks like we lost it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. We’re back up. Lost in the tunnel. Let’s cross here, guys. You guys ready? All right. Don’t worry, they’re not honking at us. [Music] There’s the loss. Anyway, the uh meal last night, the rest of it was really good. It was just this hot pot we had. It was It had good flavor. The meat was terrible. And all there was was cabbage and some onion and some other stuff, but it just wasn’t good. So, we ended up ordering I ordered something else and it was it was good. Let’s check in on the chat. See what they got to say here. Did you look at that live stream? Is it fisheye lens right now, guys? Uh, I don’t think so. Did you look at that? It looks pretty normal to me. Does it? Yeah. I haven’t watched any screen. Haven’t been able to check in on the chat just yet. So, we try to try to let the big trucks go before we cut off the rest of traffic. Another little mountain stream there. slept like a baby last night. I usually I I don’t remember a time in my life where I’ve ever had such an easy time falling asleep. I last night was talking about something when we got into bed and then we just walked out when I sounded like we got into bed together. That’s definitely not the case. Uh, but it was just great sleep, good bed, love it. Those kind of things make a difference. Although Brad and I both agree, we’re feeling pretty tired after that climb. It was easily the most physically demanding thing I think I’ve done in my life. Feeling gassed today. Oh, another tunnel. There’s a chance could lose the stream again. So, I’ll check back in a bit if we do go faster than the cell signal.

A bike tour around Japan, but in real time.
