Day 43 of our world trip: Kyoto, Japan by bike! Past the imperial palace, temples and the river.

This is day 43 of our world trip. Our second day in Kyoto and we decided to explore the city the best way possible by bike. We rode past the Imperial Palace surrounded by tall trees and wide open spaces and continued our way to some of Kyota’s most beautiful temples and shrines. Halfway through the ride, we stopped for a moment of calm to admire a garden full of ancient bonsai trees. Each one of them perfectly shaped, some over 100red years old, tiny masterpieces of patience and precision. From there, we kept pedling through narrow streets where locals greeted us with a smile past small neighborhood shrines hidden between houses and along Kyoto’s famous river where people were jogging, reading, and simply enjoying the day. The mix of tradition, daily life, and nature made the whole ride feel like a moving postcard. And to top it all off, we ended the day in a hidden alley at the coziest little Italian spot, sipping great wine and enjoying a perfect plate of spaghetti bolognes.
