Off-Road Mayhem on the Polish TET – Sand Was My Worst Enemy!

Morning everybody. Here’s another beautiful day for a
ride. I’m in central Poland on a crossing of the TET track. One goes there, one goes there
because in Poland the TED goes around, go near the borders. And there are two parts that do cross
from southwest to northeast and from northwest to southeast. Today I’ll going to start to ride the
part that goes from here up to northeast. And it’s going to take about 12 hours. So, actually, it’s
going to be probably 2 days. Let’s hit the road. As you saw in the earlier episodes, the TET
doesn’t always go on off road or on some dirt tracks. There are a few parts on tarmac
in between the dirt tracks. That’s the one of them. I hope it’s going to end soon. On
the last ride, I didn’t succeed to make the last part near the Lithuanian border of
the TET that goes along the eastern border of Poland. I going to finish it up now. A bit
of dirt and we already see my first rabbit. That’s A2 from east to west. Morning ladies. Oh, we’ve got a wooden bridge. Nice. I thought I was going
through someone’s field, but there is a road barely
seenable. Where am I going? Am I good? I think I am. Quite… Quite a lot of sand.
I’m not sitting. Get back on the track. Oh, some trench. Someone put a log on
the onto the way. That’s not the way. Thank you for the sun, but it’s getting a bit
hot. I think I do have to put on the goggles. Whoa, that was close. Just on the end of it. There are some patches of
grass. There’s sand underneath. There comes another sand pit. Come on. Come on. Come on. Donkey. This side is better. Isn’t so hard.
If I would go over there on my left, that will be more difficult. Yeah, that’s the way I like it. Okay, there we go. Oh, big rock. Bit of puddle and mud. We’re going to cross some other
motorway. A1 that goes north. Wow. What was that? Some
big bird. This is good cuz I can rest for a bit in between the dirt
tracks. These are bio gas domes. Oh, wooo. It does smell a bit. I think I’m on the banks of the Vistula River. Yeah, I think the river is just over there.
I supposed to go about 12 kilometers along the river. If it’s this kind of
road, I’m very pleased to do it. It’s a bit of a fast track with some tiny
ups and downs and some very smooth corners. Okay, that’s too fast for me. Whoa, look at the road, man. I don’t know
how much this suspension is going to take. Okay, there’s a cow with a string. Please
don’t move. Please don’t move. Please don’t move. Thank you. There’s another one. Uh,
hello. Some cow traps on the way. I was going along the Vistula River on this side. Now
I’ll be crossing it. It’s quite a large river. Very steep banks. Yeah, that’s
the bridge I been crossing. Stop here for a moment. Let’s see the
river from this side. It’s quite wide and the current is I think quite
strong. You can see it over there. Let’s see what’s that about. It’s some kind
of museum, but it’s closed today cuz of the holiday. There’s some military stuff. Oh, they
did excavate it somewhere around here. A parts of under carriage of an airplane. There’s
some machine gun over here. There’s a part of a propeller. A Russian PE2. I think it was
a bomber. Some parachutes. Construction of a wing over there. Both engines. And there’s some
wooden sculptures over here. And I’m in a town called Wyszogród. Okay. Back into the fields. All of that over here, on my right, are strawberries. You can see some people collecting them. You can feel
the smell of the strawberries in the air. Yummy. Some guys on SUPs. Oh. It seems to be a popular
place to get onto the river. I don’t think I’m going to use the
drone today cuz it’s hell of a wind. Look at the beautiful red field of poppies. Another playground. Got so much dust
in my nose. I cannot breathe properly. Have to stop for a minute. Look at the shade is
taking the field in front of me. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Let’s go to the sun.
Let’s go to the sun. No, I won’t make it. Oh, yeah. I made it. I made a pit stop for a bit
to find myself an accommodation for the night. It’s about 60 kilometers from here in
city called Łomża. I think it’s about 2 more hours of ride. So I think I’m going
to be there about 8:00 in the evening. Bit sandy. Yeah, I’ve got to stop now. Uh, okay. Wasn’t planning that. It took me by
surprise. There’s a bit more. That’s the first thing I did in days. Okay, let’s uh… Let’s
put it up. Come on, You. Come on, donkey. Let’s try it one more time, shall we? That’s very, very silky sand. Come on. Come on.
Come on. I would rather stand up into it, but I’m stuck for a moment. Maybe bit
further would be better. Yeah, there we go. Come on, Donkey. Some guys going on. Guys did made a lot of dust.
It’s a hill. The first one today Cross Mountains, something like
that. Oh, got some desert. Whoa, that was close. Now we’re going down. Okay. Wasn’t expecting this kind
of road, but that’s quite nice. Some sandy parts. Come on. Come on. Come on. Let’s not put the… Donkey, you’re killing me. Oh, that was something new. It seems
nothing. There is a lot of sand in that small tiny track that moves you around.
As you can see, I’m dancing all over. I was just having in my mind, please
do not land in that pile of this [ __ ] Oh, it’s a sandstorm. Yeah, that’s it. Come on. Up the hill
and onto the other side. Yeah. There we go. There’s another patch, I think. Yeah. Same technique, please. Same thing,
please. Come on. Come on. Yeah. Oh, there’s quite a lot of them over here. Someone was struggling here too. Whoa. I
had just been hit by a very nasty branch. Come on, donkey. We’ll make it. We’ll make it. Oh, don’t hit the trees. Come on, Donkey. I know you can make it. I do have
to go here. Oh, come on. Let’s gain some speed. Okay, it’s not sand for now. Uh, I’m lost. Maybe there’s a road. I
think I’m on the right one. Yeah, I think so. There’s sand so it’s the right one. Some roots. Come on. Come on, Donkey.
Yeah, that’s it. Good boy. Okay, that’s not the finish. Where the hell am I? I think
it should go right here. Yeah, now it’s on the track. I don’t
know why it is losing it. Oh the tarmac. Bit misleading. I did made it to the place where I’m staying for
the night. I think the city is mostly known from the brewery which produce a beer with the same
name as the city Łomża. I think they do export it outside Poland too. I’ve started the day quite
late today cuz it was about 9:30. That’s because I did came yesterday quite late to the place where
I was staying for the night and I wanted to have a decent sleep just after finishing work and riding
till 10:00. When I was beginning the track, I had 596 kilometers to do I think. So, I don’t
remember exactly. I’ll gonna check it out. Till the end, I’ve got now 184. So, I’ve made
412 kilometers today of the Tet track. It’s quite a bit. As usual, the best things came
at the end. So, not far away from here, I did go through some sandy patches and
was quite challenging for me. I was a bit struggling in the beginning, but I think overall
it was quite fun. I did learn some skills during the ride. When I was checking the weather report
for the day, there wasn’t supposed to be raining, but in the end, I was caught by the rain
just about 15 kilometers from here. So, I had a shower on the way. I think that’s
it for today. So, if you did like the video, give me a thumbs up, leave a comment, and don’t

  1. for sand riding you must use third gear get into a groove, sit well back on the saddle and then accelerate hard until the front wheel " surfs " over the sand, otherwise it digs in and down you go !
