【富山→沖縄】高所恐怖症が沖縄に行く方法
Now at Shin-Takaoka Sta on the Hokuriku Shinkansen First, I’ll take the Shinkansen to Kagoshima-Chuo Sta From Kagoshima New Port, I’ll board a large ferry stopping by 4 islands on the way The final stop is Motobu Port in Okinawa Can we really make it all the way to Okinawa Island without flying? Now then, please enjoy the main part The bike goes in the rear space The Hokuriku Shinkansen doesn’t require a booking, but reserving the last-row seat gives peace of mind Passing through Kanazawa Sta Here, I’ll transfer to the Limited Express Thunderbird and head towards Shin-Osaka, but there’s only 8 min to transfer When travelling with big luggage, it’s way safer to pick a schedule with extra time For the quickest transfer, use the escalator near Car 9, or the lift near Car 6 Whatever you do, don’t end up in Car 2 like I did The bike didn’t fit in the reserved spot, so I had a chat with the staff and they let me park it here Grabbing some protein now! Passing through Kyoto Sta From Shin-Osaka, you can ride straight through to Kagoshima-Chuo on either the Mizuho or the Sakura I’m on the Sakura this trip, but the Mizuho gets in about 15 min quicker While the Mizuho’s pretty limited, the Sakura comes through nearly once an hour Different from the Hokuriku line, on the Sanyo and Kyushu line, you’ve got to book a seat with the big luggage space before you hop on If you board without a reservation, you’ll be charged a 1000-yen fee Onigiri x4 eating too much Passing through Himeji Sta Passing through Kumamoto Sta Arriving at Kagoshima Chuo Sta Among all the Shinkansen lines in Japan, this is the southernmost terminal station The Kyushu Shinkansen took about 20 years to complete, from approval of construction in the south in 1991 to full opening in 2011 The total construction cost was estimated at around 1.5 trillion yen Because of this huge project, Sakurajima is now within 4hs from Osaka Kagoshima Prefecture, the kingdom of Shochu In a hot and humid climate where sake spoils easily, distilled shochu with higher alcohol content make sense The citric acid from black koji protects the mash, while sweet potatoes grown on the Shirasu Plateau provide the base ingredient With distilling techniques brought from the Ryukyu Islands and rice once being scarce, shochu developed into many varieties made from sweet potatoes, barley, and brown sugar Assembly complete This statue marks the 19 from Satsuma who headed to Britain in 1865, against the national travel ban He’s one of the Restoration’s big 3 shoulder to shoulder with Saigo Takamori and Kido Takayoshi He built the backbone of modern Japan- rail, post and the school system On the plinth, you can see a carving of the coachman and his horse, who were killed in the assassination Heading to the port to catch the ferry to Okinawa On the right, that’s the Kotsuki River Riverside paths and lawns on both sides come spring, roughly 500 sakura burst into bloom a top hanami spot Apparently, it’s illuminated at night as well Kagoshima’s symbol, Sakurajima, is coming into view See that ferry at the back? That’s ours Look like this is the bike parking, but probably best not to leave mine here, haha There’s a Yowamushi Pedal stamp rally going on On the 3rd floor’s Yowamushi Pedal booth, there’s Kyoto Fushimi’s ace, Midosuji – looks like a horror flick, but rides with cold logic An eccentric sprinter who shouts strange cries yet bewilders rivals with carefully calculated tactics This guy right here, Midosuji!! I’ve successfully picked up my reserved ticket I’ve got some time before boarding, so I’m heading to a nearby convenience store to grab some food The ferry’s got a kiosk and diner, but grabbing supplies earlier was the smart move This time, I decided not to pack the bike just rolling it straight onto the ferry In that case, the special baggage fare is 2900 yen If you pack the bike, there’s no extra charge I’m at the spot the ticket office directed me to, I thought I’d come to the wrong location and also riding a bike here feels so out of place, Until I ran into this person Are you going to Motobu? yep
