東京を巡るサイクリング旅!(日本橋、両国、浅草、上野)
This time we will ride a mini velo and cycle around “Nihonbashi”, “Ryogoku”, “Asakusa”, and “Ueno”. The route runs from “Yurakucho Station” to “Tokyo Station”, “Nihonbashi”, the former “Koshodo” site, “Suitengu Shrine”, “Ryogoku Kokugikan”, “Azumabashi”, “Asakusa Kaminarimon”, “Ueno Park”, Korean lunch, “Shinobazu Pond”, and in front of the University of Tokyo’s “Akamon Gate” to “Hongo 3-chome Station”. In front of “Tokyo Station”. The view from “Azumabashi Bridge”. The whale at the “Ueno Park Science Museum”. Lunch at “Korean bar Hanmi”. “Shinobazu Pond”. The University of Tokyo’s “Akamon Gate”. This is the red brick building at “Tokyo Station”. This is the “Renault Platinum Light 6”. We pass in front of the Bank of Japan. It’s a magnificent building. We pass in front of the “Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store”. We stop at “Nihonbashi Bridge”. There is the “Origin Marker Square”. There is a replica of the original road sign,which marks the starting point of Japan’s roads. The bridge railings are decorated with statues of a lion and a giraffe. They represent prayers for the protection and prosperity of Tokyo. “Ichimasu Tagen”, this long-established kimono shop has recreated “Tsutaya Juzaburo’s Koshodo”. This is the site of the former “Koshodo”, but now only a sign stands there. “Suitengu Shrine” is dedicated to the god of safe childbirth. Cross the “Sumida River” at “Shin-Ohashi Bridge”. Ride along while admiring the “Tatekawa Water Gate”. This is “Ryogoku Kokugikan”. Next to it is the “Former Yasuda Garden”. Along the way, we can get a panoramic view of “Tokyo Sky Tree”. Let’s walk down to “Sumida River Terrace”. We can see “Azuma Bridge”. This is “Komagata Bridge”. We cross the “Sumida River” at “Azuma Bridge”. There’s a houseboat parked there. The gold sculpture at “Asahi Beer’s headquarters”. The “Sky Tree” and the gold sculpture are lined up next to each other. We pass in front of “Kaminarimon Gate”. “Nakamise” is packed with people. We pass through “Kappabashi Tool Street”. This is a wholesale district that mainly sells kitchen equipment, tableware, and food replicas for restaurants. We are in front of the “Tokyo National Museum”. This is the “National Museum of Nature and Science”. A whale stands out. A “D51 steam locomotive” is on display. We pass in front of the “National Museum of Western Art”. This is Rodin’s The “Thinker”. This is Rodin’s The “Burghers of Carais”. This work depicts the anxiety and suffering of war. We pass “Ueno Zoo” on our way. We take a short break at “Everyone’s Cafe”. They have a very refreshing fresh herb soda. We pass in front of “Gojo Tenjin Shrine” and “Hanazono Inari Shrine”. This is the “Tower of Forgetfulness”. It is filled with the hope that the tragedy of the “Great Tokyo Air Raid” will never happen again. We continue along “Ueno Nakadori Street”, taking in the view of “Ameyoko”. We had lunch at the popular Korean bar “Hanmi Ueno Main Branch”. The recommended lunch dish, “Sundubu Jjigae”, was delicious. The inside of the restaurant looks like this. Of course, they also serve “Yakiniku”. The recommended lunch dish, “Stone-grilled Bibimbap”, was also very delicious. After dinner, we stopped by “Shinobazu Pond”. The wind chimes were swaying in the strong breeze. The Japanese umbrellas were very colorful. The lotus flowers were in full bloom at this time of year. We’ll visit the “Former Iwasaki Residence”. This was the “Meiji-era” residence of the founder of “Mitsubishi Company”, and is a historic garden with both a Western-style building and a Japanese-style building. The luxurious Western-style building, designed by “Conder”, is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. We pass in front of the “Yayoi Gate” of the University of Tokyo. This is the “Akamon Gate” of the University of Tokyo. It is currently closed due to earthquake resistance issues. We went inside the University of Tokyo. It’s a building with a strong sense of history. We arrived at “Hongo 3-chome Station”. This marks the end of our course. We’ll be packing our bike back home.
