日本を自転車で横断するために私が食べているもの(たくさん)
This is everything I eat in a day to cycle across Japan. On the docket for today, we’re finally getting back into urban Japan with a 50-mi push from Otski into Yokohama. Though I’m staying at a decent hotel, their breakfast game is kind of weak. So, I decided to just kick off today’s ride and look for something along the way. Fortunately for me, this morning’s route passed through a bunch of tiny rural villages, which I think are the best places to find some solid growth. And today was no different. I found this little shop that has clearly been around for a minute. I think it likely serves as both the owner’s home and restaurant. So, the dining area was giving some cozy living room vibes. Some old team pictures, table tennis on the TV, floor cushions. For my breakfast, I went with a stir-fried beef and cabbage set with a side of ramen, and some long and crispy guoza. I’ll admit it does look simple, but I can confidently say it was probably one of the best meals of this entire trip. The guoza were each handmade in the size of a banana with a punchy and acidic sauce. They offered ramen as a side as opposed to a standalone meal. And the stir fry was healthfully seasoned and came coated with a warm chili oil. This is the pinnacle of homestyle Japanese soul food. As I kept on pushing, I crept gradually closer and closer to central Yokohama and the city started sprouting up around me. So, this meant that there were some more food options and this pizzeria was calling my name. They had their own woodfired oven and some pretty interesting menu options. So, I went with their squiding pizza topped with seafood. To be honest, I don’t really think squidding tastes like anything, but the seafood was pretty nice, and the woodf fired crust was even better. Then I continued forth with the remainder of my ride through residential neighborhoods and city roads, which carried me all the way to my hotel, which ran me for about 50 bucks a night. Then for dinner, I’ve desperately been craving some American food. And when in Yokohama, you’ve definitely got some options. Tonight, I opted for this spot called Bubbies, which specializes in all sorts of American treats. So, I went with a bacon blue cheeseburger with fries and an order of banana walnut pancakes. And these absolutely hit the spot. The zip of blue cheese isn’t super prevalent in Japanese cuisine, so getting that with a fat and juicy burger and some unapologetically indulgent pancakes brought me straight back home. See you guys tomorrow.
This is everything I eat in a day on my bikepacking trip across Japan! Today, we travelled from Otsuki to Yokohama!

i love the way you describe food. i feel like it's often over looked in your videos, but it's like i can imagine exactly what you're eating tastes like. your an amazing story/experience teller
Why are you not going to Tokyo?
Y’all really mean comfort food, Soul Food means Black American/African American cuisine.
Another great video
That cabbage looks like heaven
Your videos always make me hungry even though I've already eaten
When I cycle multi day through provinces in my country I don't usually get food like this. At the end of the trip yes, usually my destinations have great food. But those in between not really, unlike the author here 3 meals looked and maybe tastes great.
that breakfast looked so good..
Did you try the Yokohama ramen museum? They have a wide variety of Ramen joints in a mock up of a Japanese street in the basement
Why do you always pop up when I’m hungry and I get hungry even if I ate and i see you
So what everybody eats in Japan then.
I know you're very active and ride your bike every day, but how does your slim body find the room for all of that food?? I'm obese, and I couldn't handle that much food in one day. Wow. Amazing!! The breakfast looked amazing. The dinner was overkill, but I'm glad it satisfied you. As an American living in Germany, I also sometimes miss American food.
🚴♂️ 🇯🇵 😎👍🏾
Curious why it's called Bubby's. Bubby's is a yiddish word, but the food doesn't look Jewish at all.
That blue cheese burger for the win though😅
The pizza place you ate at is just 10 minutes from my house lol
I never imagined you'd be passing by so close.
Fatburger was dripping and the pancakes looks great and who doesn't love gyoza
So glad to have you as a good channel some may think you are a cycle channel but I know that you really are a foodie 😊
The first spot was a Japanese style Chinese restaurant! The cabbage pork dish is a quintessential Szechuan dish but serving it with ramen and gyoza is a very typical Japanese way of eating. Love the series btw!
The thing is squid ink tastes super salty from what I can remember.
Bro you missed Hachioji ramen 😭
This guys just evolving from a guy with a dream to a guy who does food influencing 😂
Food in Japan is similar in price to food in my country and I live in a third world country.
Could you kindly share with me the name of the first restaurant, me and a friend are going near there in October', not my first time in JP but seeing Ramen as side really interest me. Thanks!😊
You make me want to try food.. I just don't know anything about it to be honest.
“この定食が最も美味しいものの1つだったと自信を持って言える”
めちゃくちゃいい舌を持ってるね
日本人なら“これでいいんだよ”って言いたくなるような安心感のある定食
I HAVE to visit Japan after seeing this😂
Probably the best food I've seen you eat in this series.
You said that because you didn't try good quality squid ink…in Sicily we use it and it's incredible
The burger cream cheese is a super classic 🎉🎉🎉
